Gaffney is going to be my latest addiction! I havent seen a fabric store like this since moving from NYC. The size and variety is similar to some of the great little shops in the Garment District - you never know what you are going to find. The staff are friendly and helpful and you really can find everything you need.

Im getting back to sewing. Going in a fabric store for the first time to do get some serious projects going and my eyes lit up when I went in there. I was like a kid in the candy store. I cant wait to find out if Im missing anything and go back because it looks like everything you need would be there. I met an eclectic worker with her own made yoga pants on, who told me about a pattern website... I fell terrible for forgetting her name in my excitement but she was dopesauce. I cant wait to go back

Ive been shopping at Gaffneys since 1976 and even worked there for a minute. I will say the quality has gotten a LOT better over the decades. At this point the staff is great. Nice selection for neighborhood fabric shop. Just look carefully at the African prints, some seems to be flawed. Otherwise, fair prices, nice selection, great sales. You never know what youll find. Just came from there today.

This fabric store was recommended by a friend because I couldnt find anything local to where I live. They have such a wide variety of fabrics that I didnt mind the long drive to find them. The prices are reasonable and theres a lot to choose from. My only issue is they need a better system of the way they deal with their customers. Theres not enough people to assist the customers and if you ask for help you have to wait for them to take care of everyone in line before someone actually comes to assist you which in my case was about 20 minutes and we had to remind them we were waiting twice.

Good fabric at a great price. Really friendly and helpful staff. The lady with the colorful hair was nice as well. I will be back soon. They can always get my coins.

I’m very disappointed in this company. I placed an order, paid in full, for pick up at the store. I have called at least 10 times to see if it’s ready but no one will answer the phone. I’ve emailed, no response, I sent a message through FB, nothing. I find their lack of customer service is just that, very lacking. It’s great in this economy to be busy but it’s customers who keep the business going. There are other places who’d love the business so I’ll cancel and go elsewhere.

I have been going to this location before the Gaffneys bought it. It was James S. Jones and Daughters. They made it a great place in the 1960s and the Gaffneys continued. I have always felt welcomed and respected when shopping there. Any of the workers are always willing to give you helpful tips if you ask. They all treat you like a family member that they like.😊

OK, so this place is not gorgeous to look at as there are much more pleasant places to go for fabric, thread and notions. However, I have never gone to a fabric store and come away with what I needed, a few fabric gems I found, or discovered fabrics I have never even thought of for a price per yard as I have at Gaffney. They do a lot of volume and occasionally you will be standing on longer lines waiting to get your cuts but it will be worth the wait. You can find everything from quilting weight cottons to a fairly good selection of upholstery fabrics along with denims, meshes, ethnically inspired prints and plenty of blends at a fraction of the price of Joannes. This is a good place to go.

There will be someone to attend to you. I didnt have to wait. Parking is however a challenge as the shop is on a major road.They have a very good selection of accessories.

They have a down stairs that has your vinyls and leathers. Great choices through out the store. However not enough triming items. They also carry some novelty fabrics.

I have been buying fabric from gaffneys for over 40 years and the people are nice and the prices are great I like gaffneys very much

I used to go to this fabric store all the time because it is so close by and they often have sales on great fabric, but their customer service and layout of the store is awful. Im disabled but even if you arent you shouldnt have to stand at a counter for 20min just to purchase thread or small items because all (two) employees are cutting fabric for several people. Also no one ever says hello or offers to help you, they just see you standing there and say nothing to you. Its very frustrating because theyre so close and I would like to support small businesses but I avoid coming here for this reason.

A very nice and reasonably priced fabric store. Their varied summer and winter fabrics for clothing and upholstery are beautiful and good to work with. They also have a nice variety of lace, trim, notions, etc. They are located in Germantown, close to public transportation. The employees are courteous and helpful.

I LOVE this store. Its EXTREMELY affordable. if you cant afford Gaffneys then you wont be able to afford anything. The variety of patterns, fabrics and sewing accessories are awesome. For my first visit, it was okay. Some of the employees are willing to help you; some push you off to someone else. Needs to be more organized and managed. But the fabric is wonderful with amazing prices... This place saved me $75 on a project!

For my 1st time their... Ummm the one worker lor owner with multi colored hair didnt really seem to have a nice attitude and getting help was helpless... also I hated the fact that not everything is priced and had to search for pricing well more so for the items that were in the basement.

I have been going to this place since before I could talk and walk. My mother is a seamstress so we spent a lot of time their and this is still the place to be. I only had an issue with the one younger Caucasian lady and her attitude. She is always snappy and in a rush and she acts like this with coworkers and customers and she doesnt cut material that great. The last material I bought she cut very uneven. But as for the store, the prices are great, the selection is great and I feel like a kid in a candy store when I am here.

The fabrics here are very reasonable. They carry a vast selection of dress maker and upholstery fabrics, and notions.

For many decades I shopped at Gaffneys. I was looking for 7 and 9 metal zippers. Which I did not fine. But they do still have plenty of other items and quality products available.

Fantastic selection, little costumer service. But thats okay with the selection of stuff you find, and new stuff comes in very regularly! This is the best discount fabric store in the city. But dont try to use the rest room! It is one of the scariest experiences ever, you feel like youre about to be shanked. But its almost worth it for the fabric!

I love going to Gaffney Fabrics. Some of the representatives cut better than others and some are friendly and some act like they hate their job. I put up with it because the prices are reasonable.

Went there for fabrics for my little sisters dress. The store was packed per usual but the employees made sure to make you as satisfied as possible. Wait was a bit long long but it is barnable considered it was towards closing time and it was a lot of customers. They have a wide selection of fabrics and they tended to what i needed in a orderly fashion. The employees were very polite, easy to talk to, and have your best intrests. All in all it was a pleasent experience.
