This store is one of the best if not the best thrift store, theyre clothes are great quality, the store is super clean and the employees are very friendly and helpful. Not only do they have a great selection of clothes but they have just about everything you could need...I recommend this store 100%
Really cool place. You never know what you will find. Everyone there is friendly and helpful
Very nice atmosphere. Very good prices. Fun little things to see in there. Lots of books, records, tapes and vintage clothing.
Always found something useful! Great place to find 1 of a kind used items! I will be back.
One of my favorite thrift stores in the city. Always find great pieces in the $1 section. The place is eclectic and full of treasures but still manages to be clean and organized. Volunteers and staff are always so kind.
This is our go-to organization whenever we have clothing, books, art or household items to donate. Staff is friendly and helpful as I drop items off. I appreciate that they give employment to our neighbors who are struggling to make a living. Though parking is tight in Queen Village, theres usually a drop-off parking space right in front. Year-round, I love walking our dog by their storefront: they create quirky, colorful displays for every holiday (Halloween and Valentines Day windows are the best)! Tip: for tax purposes, make detailed notes/photos of what you donate. They do not provide that documentation for your donations.
Such a fun place to explore. One of my all time favorite thrift stores. Parking can be tough but it’s worth it. You never know what you’ll find and it has a great vibe. They have everything from games and art to clothes and furniture
Always able to find a good deal. Clean Really nice people .
One of my fave thrift stores in Philly. Prices are reasonable and the people that work there are always helpful and friendly...plus, you know you are supporting a great cause when you shop :-)
Went here for my first time last week. Very overwhelming. Lots to see and find. Was on a time limit so only found 2 things. But I was still happy . Prices are fair for the city and a thrift shop. Will definitely be back :)
Had a very pleasant be experience. Staff was very courteous and helpful. Going again soon.
This is a really great thrift store, with fantastic people running it ! Adam, Kristina and Josh plus a virtual army of volunteers who donate their time and energy to not just a great store but a great cause ! Helping people afflicted with this terrible disease !! And on a personal note, while I dont have this illness, I was homeless for years ! And w/o the staff over the years and Adam and Kristina I wouldnt have made it ! Thanks a lot @phillyaidsthrift And please donate times or unwanted or unneeded possessions ! Except for socks and underwear thats a negative Ghost Rider !! Post, donate, share !!
Its a great place to find something very unique.
Really great place to stop and browse. Theyre full of treasures! Very nice staff.
Going to this place is like going on a treasure hunt. Chocked full of junk and hidden treasures. Ive gotten brand new leather boots worth $100 for $12. You never know what you are going to find here. Everything is so cheap and the proceeds go to a worthy cause. Plus the staff is super chill. Enjoy bizarre music selections while hunting for cool stuff. But really, the music is super random.
This place is a really cool place the prices are good and you can find just about everything and anything, they have very unique things and you wont be disappointed. Love love this place. Best thrift shop in my opinion!
Awesome place to find used books and clothing. Also has some art and other household goods and decor. Give yourself an hour to explore the place, even though it seems small.
Love this place!!! Considering they run entirely on donations, the book selection is fabulous. Staff is always friendly and they enjoy seeing the treasures you find almost as much as you do. You never know what will be behind these doors!
Probably shouldn’t call it AIDS but i get it. thanks for the top i bought from there. i also got a “oh the places you’ll go” book. haven’t read it but looks sick. might find rats there but part of the experience. lov this place
Great place, vgreat guy at the front counter, they were a total pleasure!
Ive been going to this place for a very long time. Probably the best thrift store in the area.
The best thrift store in the city! Not only do they have great stuff, prices and staff but they also actually raise money for a good cause that I am happy to support unlike the other thrift stores in the city
Women of color be cautious when coming here. I would suggest not shopping alone if possible. Several women have received the same mistreatment and disrespect here. Its disgusting!
Great thrift store with a ton of variety of items, and way larger than it looks on the outside. This is a fun place to stop in, and I would recommend swinging by frequently if you hope to find something specific. There were lots of people in the store when I stopped by on Sunday morning, so I imagine the good items go quick. They have a ton of clothes, some shoes, some books, dishes, housewares, etc. It seems like they mainly have clothes, and a wide variety of them.
Lots of fun finds in this unique store!
I love this place. The best thrift shop in the city!
I was looking for vintage clothes or good cheap clothes, I went to at least 3 stores like this but for a second hand store the prices were too high, this store is the best, I mean, I found new clothes at a very good price ( some Levis pants, skirts for work, cool shirts) plus some jewelry of my taste and that is very difficult also the staff was very nice and friendly, I never write reviews but this store is worth it
Honestly had to leave a review. One of the best thrifting experiences I have ever had! Lots of stuff, very affordable, great message Amazing decor. It’s absurd to leave a bad review... Philly is always street parking I had no problem... the decor is amazing and definitely appropriate not their job to cater to your children. .. and for a thrift store it’s well organized and loaded with stuff. 10/10 recommend!
Great prices, big selection, helpful staff. Snagged a Gap long sleeve linen shirt for a dollar.
It was so much fun walking through this store. They have an insane selection of thrift items from clothing to furniture. Even if you dont buy anything, this place is still so much fun to walk around in. The staff have always been friendly and the service is fairly quick.
This is a really cool thrift store, just off South St, with great finds/prices.
Always great find to be had there! And their revenue goes to great causes. Couldnt recommend more highly!!
This is a great place to go to if you want vintage clothes, cheap clothes, movies, CDs, vinyl records, kitchen stuff, furniture, electronics (cheap monitors, keyboards, cables, audio equipment...), and more. The variety of stuff they have changes every time you go back, since they’re always getting new donations in.An added bonus to Philly AIDS Thrift is that they have free HIV testing and proceeds go towards supporting HIV/AIDS service organizations.
I had a great experience with Anthony, one of the plumbers from this company. They had a very fast response rate and were very flexible.I had an issue from a house I recently bought where the plumbing was done all wrong and realized after tenants moved in and the leaks started happening.Anthony was able to identify the what the long term fix was rather address it for the time being. Very respectable and great customer service.I would highly recommend them as I get that they are trying to do right by their customers instead make a quick buck.I will be using them for any other issue for my rental properties.
A hidden gem for mosaic artists. The huge selection of mismatched plates and bowls is an excellent source of shiny, inexpensive smash-able items that would otherwise cost a fortune. This place allowed me to start creating mosaic art inspired by south phillys Magic Garden.Plus the staff is always helpful, and theyve got a ton of other awesome stuff too.I cant wait until the virus apocalypses is over and I can go shop here regularly again.
Great great great! Helpful employees and huge selection of items! Best thrift store ever!!!!
I absolutely loved it here, everyone was sooo nice I cant wait to go back !!! Really good book collection 10/10
Whats not to like? Great value. Fits with my worldview. Great cause for a non-profit. And the staff is savant-level of service. Dig around and find what you like on 3 floors.
What a fun shop and a great organization! I have a great couch and dresser and love the organization and what they do ❤
One of the coolest thrift stores Ive ever been to
Picked dry; no vintage gems and really nothing of value besides maybe some vintage furniture pieces.
Great place great customer service
I felt weird vibes...I am a weirdo though, so thats probably the reason.
Tremendous thrift store! Have been a customer for many years. Always worth stopping in whether it’s just to kill some time or if you’re actually in search of something specific. Usually you’ll leave with something
Can usually find some decent secondhand items here, but they are still ruñning under Covid restrictions with donations limited to 3 days a week so stock inventory is limited as well. This will change as the pandemic does.
I dont want to write this review right now because I love this establishment and have been in and out of this there for the last decade at least. My experiences there are normally very pleasant, but sadly I cannot say that for this visit. The store advised that there was twenty minutes left until the store closes. An employee with dreads RUDELY shut off all the lights upstairs as soon as the announcement was said. Then proceeded to say Im trying to go home, and when I protested another employee told me to shut up. I dont know what is going on there lately but they should choose their employees more carefully. Im very disappointed.
Name brand 👛 👜.... nice store.... affordable
Good cause. Your going to shop anyway check ot out. Sometimes find funky vintage items. Worth the drive
One of fav places in the city! So good for costume and prop designs and the occasional knick knack.Cant overestimate how awesome this place is!
Love this place sooo much
Tons of stuff here to sift through. Great mission. People caring about people. In a cute neighborhood
Couple years ago I came to visit a friend for the first time here in Philadelphia she lives a few blocks away from this amazing thrift shop. Remember purchasing these amazing comeback boots for a reasonable price. Anything you purchase there is for a good cost. So now I’m back in Philly for a few days and unfortunately it saddens me that is closed due to the coronavirus and I hope that the next time I’m back hopefully sooner I will come back to this beautiful magical place. The only warning that I have to say is if you suffer from allergies make sure you have allergy pills with you before entering the store. Other than that it’s perfect!
Fun place to shop for a great cause!
Have been coming here for at least seven years. Nothing beats it. I go to Buffalo for something different. I am playing like a long game of strip tag with this place. I bring at least three bags of clothing (90% from previous excursions here) when I come to shop. It is just something so enthralling to me. Because I dont buy first hand and here get to mb n run free. My husband and i... the dedication and love we had for the place brought us together when we first met. And it continues to be a outing, a melting, we get to experience together. It is also the best place for a painter to get cheap canvases. There are always paintings people did at Painting with a Twist and then threw away. I dont feel bad painting over those.
Not only will you have a great time exploring the various sections of this two-story thrift spot, but theres no way you can leave empty handed! Things are fairly priced, and theres an entire dollar section. This is also where I choose to buy most my books! Usually under $5.
I could spend hours browsing the book section! The store itself is massive and funky but always clean. Staff is super friendly and helpful. Easily one of my fave spots in the city to spend an afternoon.
Great prices, extensive selection
The Donation Staff are SO NICE and helpful!! Made the donation process extremely friendly and easy
Nice pleasant place to shop
One of the largest and most well-decorated thrift stores Ive ever been in, hands down. Theres always something neat.
Best thrift shop in Philly!
The staff was awesome. I had my client with me, he is handicapped and walks with a special walker. He cant stand for long periods at a time, they let sit in a folding chair, he needed to use the rest room and they accommodated use. So compassionate and never did the act like I was getting on their nerves. God bless you all.
Two floors, curio to furniture.Music dept.,dollar room.Low prices, frendly staff, who arw volunteers.Great book sections.
Went here yesterday for the first time. I love the vibe of this place it’s so cool. I discovered the $1 bins and walked out with a bunch of great stuff. Staff was great. Can’t wait to go back and see what else I can find.
My man & I love this place. He introduced me to this place in May & since then, we make it a point to explore yummy restaurants near it. That way we put our name in at a restaurant & get an hour to kill, searching one of the coolest thrift stores you’ll come across...especially anywhere around here. It’s a mish mosh of randomness that I absolutely love. Take a trip & you are sure to have walks down memory lane, as you find things you haven’t seen since a child. If you don’t want to remember your childhood...I get it, feel free to check out all they have & buy something for your favorite little person. Lots of stuff is still in the boxes & is just as good as buying from home goods...except shopping at Philly AIDS Thrift is for a great cause.Do yourself a favor & check it out! 😉👍🏼👍🏼
Its a great place to hang and browse after work. Chill atmosphere. Funky music and all the workers and volunteers are friendly. The $1 clothes bins are the best thing since sliced bread. They have a wide variety of items from tools to furniture and prices are good!
One of my go to stores!! I could spend hours looking through what they have and I always walk away with a good gem
I absolutely love this place. It’s such an easy spot to wander, relax, and get lost looking through all the donated treasures. Bonus is that every purchase you make goes to a good cause!I would recommend going on a weekday rather than a weekend since it can get a bit hectic. But that’s just the nature of crowds. The staff does an amazing job handling whatever comes thru the door. Either way, I tell everyone that they must visit this place. It’s iconic.
Big thrift store. Can find something good if you really take the time to look. Sometimes they give away free stuff. Two floors of unique items and used items.
I love this thrift store
Great finds and amazing volunteers
The selection is excellent - one of the most interesting thrift stores Ive ever visited. I loved browsing here - they have great special occasion gowns (sometimes at 50% off on top the already good prices), great period pieces (70s party? 80s party? 90s party?), a wide variety of housewares, shoes that sometimes are pretty much brand new, and the free box outside for items they arent able to sell. And all for a great cause!
Always find something amazing!
This place is always a good time. It’s an experience and you’ll never know what you’ll find. They have awesome prices, and the staff is super friendly and helpful. They were really nice and helped us get an absurdly large couch out of the store in a rain storm, and if someone will help you with that, they’re pretty cool.
Terrible treatment ! I was wrongfully accused of stealing when I spent hours shopping for the first time there I was simply just checking out when all if s sudden the guy says mam can I talk to you ..he says to me I know a thief when I see one and u need to leave or Ill call the cops..all I was doing was paying for all the clothes I just spent hours looking through bins of clothing only to be told I was stealing!!!!!! THE GUY WAS A MONSTER TO ME and you EMBARRASSED ME !! Old man at register needs to work at a prison not a thrift store !! My lawyer will be taking care of this and this place will get shut down for wrongfully ACCUSING ME !! Dont give this place business, go to a place that wouldnt do this and would be grateful for large amount of money.
I have shopped here twice, last time was just yesterday. Here are the facts: The staff are simply awesome, the building is clean, the clothing are mostly designer, ..the prices are very reasonable (especially every other Tuesday) and the trip it took to get here was well worth it. Ill be sure to make the trip again very soon and will more than likely bring a friend. Nice work staff!! Keep it up!
I love this place I just went to the shop today. Staff are nice also lots of affordable price items. Recommend for vintage lovers Ill make sure to pay a visit again next time when i have a change!
I only get to stop by once or twice per year. Great Selection. Great Staff. Very Good to Great Prices !
I love this place. Always a plethora of eclectic things. I always leave there with clothing, art, furniture, or books.I would recommend blocking out a good amount of time to visit. There is so much to see, and go through, it can take hours. But if you are the type who gets pleasure for Hunter/gatherer types of activities, this is the place for you!
This is kinda the Willy Wonka Chocolate Factory of thrift stores. An amazing set up, and staff. I went in with my youngest son today and he was blown away. There really is something for everyone. The prices are reasonable and the money goes to a great cause.
I thrift alot, and out of Phillys thrift stores this is probably my favorite! Ive gotten $500 skirts from their dollar bin, beautiful vintage and all types of goodies-rarely over $5 per item. Ive never walked out with less than 3 things oops 😂 go check it out youll be happy you did.
Great variety, great prices, and even better staff. Yesterday I witnessed one of the employees leading a blind man around the store to help him find items he needed for at least a half hour. She held his hand to guide him, told him what the items looked like, and treated him with so much kindness and patience
Best place. Fun finds and great prices.
Great place. Awesome book selection for $.99Edit: This IS a great place, but forcing people to leave their backpacks at the desk is an unacceptable policy. I don’t come to your store to steal, so don’t treat me like a thief. I have a $2,000 laptop in my backpack most of the time. You have some donated books. Who has more to lose in this scenario?
You can find just about anything here for prices that are so low you have to take a second look at the tag. Make sure you go on the first Saturday every month for a $1 heaven sale. Also Every other Tuesday everything is 25 percent off. The staff is amazing, extremely kind, funny and helpful
I absolutely love this place. I was so shocked when I saw the total cost for all of the great items I found. I cant wait to go back.
Great thrift department store! You can spend hours here...but, dont expect to always find a specific item; stock changes regularly. The BEST place for books- SO cheap! Great employees/volunteers, insane music, free HIV testing, & all for a good cause! ; )
Great selection and prices, a good cause and nice staff.
Such a rad experience!!! I thought if was a little shop and kept finding room after room after room of amazing finds! Incredible
This place is amazing. They have a large selection of clothing and housewares. There is some furniture sprinkled about, but thats not the main thing they sell. I have loved being here, every time. The volunteers and workers are amazing, and are always willing to help. there are 2 floors to look through, with dollar land on the second floor where each piece of clothing in the room is only $1! Lots and lots of stuff to choose from. There is an elevator for people who need to use it, it is hiding behind the curtain, and it is slow, but it works. And it also very interesting to be in. It is not for use by everyone since PAT themselves use it a lot to move things through the floors.I would definitely recommend this place if you are looking for cool clothing, or vintage stuff at a thrift price. Dont forget to say Hi! to Adam and Christian in the back.
