I love Yarnphoria so much! The owner is so helpful every time I’ve been there. I got into knitting 6 months ago and she was so kind and helpful each time to match me with the right yarn for my project. She also offers her own patterns for free if you buy yarn from her (and will help you out with a hard stitch during the quieter hours of the day). I always stare at all the great skeins of yarn because the selection is fantastic!

I adore this store. I travel from New York City on a quarterly basis to stock up on my yarns.the most important element about this store is the knowledge of the owner, Donna, who often designs her own unique patterns and is always willing to sit with you and explain and correct mistakes.Better than most NYC shops who are too busy to take the time to help out.

Better selection than Loop. I still wish there was a little bit more of a selection. They would have a fiber I wanted but not in a color I wanted or a color but I didnt like the way the fiber felt. They had a few brands I follow but not others, but they also have some new brands that I now follow, and Ill be back. Super super sweet and knowledgeable staff! Competitive prices.

Nice selection of yarn, including unusual and indie dye selections. Nicely laid out and well kept. The owner is very helpful, with a lot of fun ideas to make with what she stocks. And, she went over and above getting me a Lyft back to my hotel. 😉

This is not only the yarn shop with the widest variety in Philadelphia, but this is where I go when Im stumped on a pattern and want to learn something new. This is a haven for me, both with exactly what I need for my projects and a fantastic mentor to help me make them amazing

Theres an absolutely beautiful selection of high-end yarns. I saw a lot of bulky yarns and single player yarns, and not a lot of basic or workhorse yarns (which is fine; the collection feels curated). They didnt have the tool I needed when I went in, but said it was ordered. They have a friendly pet dog. What stops me from making it a five star experience were two things: 1. the staffperson asking me multiple times if I was looking for anything specific, which made me feel like I was being rushed out of the store- even though it was Saturday afternoon and I was literally the only person in the store, and 2. Imposing a minimum card fee of $20. Even on a debit card. When I said I didnt have that cash and just would buy something another day- there were several copies of the pattern magazine I was buying, which was five years old, so I doubted they would run out- I was told fine, Ill run it, but just so you know, its a $20 minimum with a big sigh. I understand running a business, theres fees involved with cards.. but many of the yarns start at over $20 for one skein. Dont make me feel youre doing ME a massive favor by LETTING me buy a pattern magazine from 2012. I would totally shop here again, but Id get my yarn and get out.

Great shop with a nice selection. Dona is obviously very knowledgeable and passionate about knitting and crocheting, and she can talk about it for hours. I’m a new knitter, and she loves helping newbies pick out new yarns and start new projects. Highly recommended.

On a recent trip to Philadelphia, I was within walking distance to Yarnphoria and so, of course I went. I was greeted warmly as I entered and the owner, Dona, asked the best questions to help me find my souvenir yarn. (No t-shirts for me when I travel - I buy yarn!) She actually asked what kind of projects I liked to knit. We talked needle sizes, stitch preferences, patterns and dogs. She directed me to a locally spun and dyed yarn and showed me swatches of the different colors. I bought Made In America Yarns Flora Fil, a super soft, bulky cotton yarn. Its knitting up beautifully. Yes, theres a Sale section as well. Yarnphoria is everything a good yarn store should be!

I love shopping at Yarnphoria. There are so many beautiful yarns to choose from that I run out of time before I run out of projects I want to do. The colors are stunning...and they all feel gorgeous to work (my favorite is the Misti Alpaca Chunky). The owner is great about offering suggestions and helping you figure out what would be right for each project. Yarnphoria keeps me a happy knitter!

Adorable shop! Fantastic yarn! The owner is amazing and will help you with anything you need. What yarn to use for what time of year, what yarn to use for babies, anything you need. If youre a beginner or advanced, she is just amazing - and she knits/crochets? castles! And hats! And dresses! She can make anything and wants to help you make anything as well. A perfect location for a perfect shop. Of the 5 yarn stores Ive been to in my life, this takes the cake by far.

Not only is the yarn selection great, but her level of customer service is truly genuine and wonderful. Definitely the best yarn shop I have been to so far. There is a nice selection of yarn and a great selection of of needles, accessories, and literature to match! The shop owner is also very enthusiastic and willing to help provide any knowledge towards projects as well as helping obtain any tools she does not stock. It is also always a pleasure to just stop by and say hello! All in all, a solid 5 star shop.

Amazing selection of a wide range of yarns. Found some beautiful treasures there. Dona, the owner, is super friendly, and generously helped me with all my beginner crochet questions. She made it a wonderful experience, and I was able to buy some beautiful hade dyed yarn, she spun into a ball right in front of me! I was super impressed, and would recommend her shop, to knitters, and crocheters of all skill levels, looking for quality yarn. A clean, welcoming, and fun shop. Colour me impressed.

Great selection of a variety of yarn weights, brands, and colors. Organized by yarn weight (as all yarn stores should be). Owner is very helpful and I have regularly seen customers come in for assistance with their projects, she is always willing and encouraging.

Decent selection. The owner is nice and not overly pushy or elitist like most specialty yarn stores. She had a one on one student when I was there and the student was actually more irritating to me with her opinions than the owner. I do just wish she was more consistent about posting prices.

Lovely selection and such a helpful atmosphere. I can ask questions about my projects and get lots of feedback. Its also really nice to support small businesses in my city.

Store owner was off-putting. The visit started out okay, but ended on an odd note. Shop is on the filthy side for an establishment that sells fiber. Very dusty and sort of grimey.
