I did not have to wait to be seen. The staff was friendly and knowledgeable about my insurance. The Dr. Patel was patient, professional, and gave me helpful advice. The eye exams were done quickly and safely. I have worn glasses for many years .The pair I got from Mr Eye Dr. last year were so clear. Hats off to Dr Patel!! I would recommend this location to others.
I scheduled an appointment here after being dissatisfied with the last optometrist I saw. What a difference! Both Chris, who did the pre-tests, and Dr. Patel were polite, professional, and took the time to explain what each test/procedure measured. We discussed my contact options at length, and for the first time in my life I know why I always have to have my eyes dilated at optical exams.Scott helped me choose my glasses and paid careful consideration to my budget and what I was looking for in style. I ordered frames I love without feeling judged for preferring bigger, dorkier, glasses. I cant wait to receive them.
The warmest and nicest people. Liked this location a lot more than some of the others I have been to.
I am shocked to see so many negative reviews. Ive visited this location twice for contacts and received amazing service! The young ladies up front have excellent customer service and Dr. Patel is amazing! :)
I had a great experience at My Eye Doctor of Pikesville. They were able to get me in fast when I scheduled my appointment. Dr. Patel was very personable and able to answer all my questions. I will be going back for future business and will also encourage friends and family members to do the same! Thank you!
I go to My Eye Dr every year to get my eyeglass and sunglasses. Dr. Patel is a wonderful doctor! Staff is patient and friendly as I tried on 15 different frames. Lots of frames to choose from. Felt very safe with all the covid protocols enforced.
Im very dissatisfied with this office. Last year I had a great service, but not now... I ordered glasses and was told the lenses would be thin, but they came with the really thick ones. Then I asked for the glasses to be re-made. I was waiting for a long time for them to arrive. Then I called the store and was told my glasses were shipped to me. I did not ask for that, I live 5 minutes from the place! Now Im leaving for vacation without the glasses.... So disappointing!
Dr. Shruti Patel is fantastic and deserves five stars. The office, however, is a nightmare. When I was there, I said I would likely be interested in purchasing glasses at the office depending on the price. Dr. Patel told me the glasses prescription would be different than the contact prescription due to astigmatism and then she let the clerk selling the glasses know that as well. He wrote the prescription she told him down and told me to look around. I asked about cost first. Some quick calculations and I could not afford purchasing glasses that day (no worries, seeing isnt a necessity thanks insurance company!!!) and I asked for my PD to get glasses online. Its not my first time ordering glasses. The attitude and negative judgement I received was absolutely astonishing. I cant afford glasses there! I dont have the money! Its not going to materialize before the end of the appointment. What am I supposed to do, not see? They STILL will not release that secret prescription to me. Ive been asking and emailing for WEEKS. I dont get what they want me to do? Why wont they give me my prescription? I cant afford their glasses, so I just dont get to see? How is this allowed?
If you are a healthcare provider (and their family) especially caring for COVID-19 patients, don’t go there. They will not accept you. My husband and I were scheduled to be seen at this My eye dr branch. We drove for 40 mins for this appt, and when we got there, my husband was asked questions (screening questions), and when they found out that my husbnad is a physician who works directly with COVID patients, we were turned away. Wanted us to reschedule, however what’s the point of rescheduling, when nothing is going to change. My husband is still going to work as a hospital physician and i will be working as a physical therapist. So yeah, save yourself a trip, if you are a healthcare worker, find another place to have your eyes checked.
Second update:This place is keep getting worse and worse in treating people thanks to the only man who works at the front desk. I visited the store on Monday 21st to pickup my wife’s contact lenses. Just a pickup. I didn’t need to pay and I didn’t have any question. I went there around 1 pm (during their working hours). I knocked on the front door (they lock the door for COVID measures). There was no one else in the clinic. No patients, no doctors, no browsers. Just the front desk man. The minute he saw, he lifted his arms up mimicking (WHAT!). He opened the door and I told him that I was there to pick up my wife’s contacts and he rudely told me that I needed an appointment for the pickup. This was never mentioned to my wife when she ordered the contacts. Yet unfortunately another bad experience at that location.Update:Its been over five months and my contact lenses refund/exchange issue has not been resolved. As I mentioned in my previous review, the doctors are great but not the front desk staff. They have lost my contact lenses that I brought back for return/exchange. I was told that they sent them back to the provider. I dont have the contact lenses that I paid for. I am left with nothing but the samples I was given by the doctor. I was offered a refund of one of the 4 boxes that I paid for.Original review: Excellent optometrists but the front desk staff (except the manager, Tracy) lack communication skills, often rude, not welcoming, and impatient. None of basic interaction skills. Words like: thank you, youre welcome, please, etc are not applicable there. They tend to pass you to one another and never take initiatives. If the manager is not available, no issue can be resolved. Again, the manager is very professional and helped me to resolve earlier payment issue.
I had my contacts exam done there because the Cockeysville branch is temporarily closed, and I wasn’t disappointed. Dr Patel is great, and so is the rest of the staff. I’ll be back!
I had a great experience there last year (spring 2016). Dr. Patel was excellent. Very professional; good bedside manner; knowledgeable. The staff was also nice and I got a good discount on my contacts. I was so impressed with them that I made my sister go there for her eye exam this year :).
I just wanted to pass on the wonderful experience I witnessed while visiting this office with my daughter. Everything moved very smoothly and in a timely fashion. She was taken care of by a charming very polite young man (garret) who was very knowledgeable in his work, took his time explaining things. We never felt rushed like you do at some places one visits. I will gladly make my future appointments at MyEyeDr. And recommend them to other friends and family.
The staff are friendly and helpful. The optometrist is very knowledgeable and gave me immediate feedback on an eye issue I was having.
This place must be under new management. The service I’ve received have been very unprofessional. I called into the store on May 5th to order my contact lenses. Here it is May 20th and not only did they order the wrong brand now I have to wait longer for the correct lenses to come in. I will never go back to that place again. Big difference from last year!!
Staff - very knowledgeable. Her suggestion was a perfect fit. I came in with a courtesy voucher for glasses. (Lost my practically new pair in auto accident). The Dr. treated me with the utmost respect. They re-examined me & found my Rx had changed. I received a card for 50% off my computer glasses. Great customer service!
Horrible customer service. When I ordered my glasses on December 14, I explained that they need to ship them to NJ where I live. They said please allow 2-3 weeks to get them. I called on Monday Jan 4, and they had been holding my glasses that came in on December 19. Why didnt they ship them? No one seemed to know. I then insisted they ship them to me overnight. It then took another 20 minutes for the woman to get my address correct. Next, a woman named Vanessa called me back to explain, the only option was a second day ship. Fine, I said. I then had to call back twice to get a tracking number, because at this point, I did not trust anything they say. I got the tracking number and they shipped UPS ground, which DOES NOT guarantee a second day delivery, in fact, the UPS Ground time frame is 5-7 business days. These people need to hire folks that graduated from at least the 8th grade.
Friendliest staff ever. Great frames, staff goes over and beyond to make you happy. You feel so welcomed.
Extremely piss poor service here. I will not be returning and will urge everyone to use another vendor for eye care services. The MVA required me to have a doctor complete a vision form for my license renewal. This required me to have the first eye exam Ive had in years. My Eye Dr. is up the street from me so was very convenient. I scheduled an appointment and the eye doctor, Dr. Gordon, completed my form for me. Surprisingly, when I went to the MVA to renew my license the other day they informed me that my form was filled out incorrectly and that it would need to be corrected by my eye doctor. Ok no big deal, I thought. I was confident My Eye Dr would fix this issue for me promptly. When I drove to the Pikesville location to tell a manager what happened, I waited for 30 minutes for the receptionist to tell me that the manager was unavailable and that Dr. Gordon (the only one who can correct the issue) is now at a new location and is only available one day this month. This was extremely unacceptable to me as this was a mistake that was completely out of my control. I asked for the manager, Andrew, to call me when he was available and when he called he over talked me, offered no apologies and stated that Dr. Gordon would soon be on a long vacation and was now at another location only one day this month. Andrew didnt even acknowledge how this was a problem. Clearly, this causes an extreme inconvenience for me as I now have to wait (lord knows how long) until my schedule lines up with Dr. Gordons at another location, which further delays the rescheduling of my MVA appointment for my license renewal. Ultimately, I know mistakes happen but when I pay for a service and a mistake is made, at the very least, an apology and accommodations should be in order. No apology, accommodations or even acknowledgement of the inconvenience they have caused me. Thanks a lot My Eye Dr. #NotMyEyeDr
Very unprofessional and needs new employees. They lack communication and professionalism. I wouldn’t refer them even if the service was free. I’ve been trying to get glasses since the 17th and I encountered two issues. Normally when you speak to a manager at an company they attempt to solve the issue or fix the problem; however at this location (Andrew or Andy ) was the complete opposite. He never took fault, he never acknowledged it was a problem for me to keep experiencing issues, nor did he even try to do anything. From the calls and inappropriate voicemails left on my phone and the way this location conduct themselves is unbelievable. If I could’ve gave a 0 I would, they don’t even deserve a 1 star. Please if their is anyone else who is above the manager please give me call
So I went to this location in Pikesville in March service was good. Two weeks later I go pick up glasses and I try them out for a full day and I still couldnt see clearly. Took them back, a different doctor did an exam and re did the prescription. I went back this Tuesday to pick them up and I couldnt readva thing. It was worse then me not having on my glasses. The manager Andrew called himself playing doctor and trying to resolve the issue didnt do a good job as a tech. I requested a doctor and of course they had all left for the day. I went back at my scheduled appointment this morning at 9:45am. I arrived at 9:40 waited until 10am listening to staff talk about his wedding photo. No they did not advise me about the doctor or behind schedule. At 10am Ive got to get to work and I request a full refund. Andrew wants me to wait for the doctor who is ready to see me but not who I was scheduled to see. Again I requested a full refund. Andrew states its a 6 to 8 week process and he has to contact my insurance. I told him it didnt take 6 to 8 weeks to take my money and I wasnt going to wait that long. So I called the insurance company while standing in front of him. They called Andrew and he told them it takes 3 to 6 weeks to process. My insurance reversed my benefits back to zero so I can go to a new doctor and start all over. Meanwhile I must say I not only didnt get quality eye service and new eye glases but the management didnt make my experience any better. So I have no intentions on using My Eye Doctor ever again.
Ive been going to the Elkton, MD location for years (they used to be vision associates) but today they were my heros. My glasses broke, the day before Thanksgiving! I cant wear contacts due to ulcers and my vision is horrendous so no glasses is not an option. I walked in expecting to pay a fortune and not get immediate help. My frames are no longer sold but they searched and found a pair that fit. They were able to pop out my lenses and put them in the new frames. I am on a tight budget so they were able to find a way to discount them by 50%. They did everything right there within minutes. They are all very friendly and helpful. A special thanks to Sherry Leroy for listening to be complain about money and work and always trying to help! Thanks guys!
I am very disappointed with my eye doctor in Pikesville. I thought I was getting a good deal but even with my insurance their prices were still high. Their service is terrible. They never called me when my glasses or trials contacts came in, but when I called them it was there waiting. I went to them on the beginning of July. When I called today they have no record of my contact lenses even though I already paid for them. They are very unprofessional, I dont think I will go there again.
Now, I must preface this story by saying that I hadnt gotten my eyes checked in about 4 years and I was due for a prescription update for my glasses and they were about to break in half as well. After finding which places took my insurance and which place sold the brand of frames I wanted, I finally cross-referenced the MyEyeDr. on Reisterstown rd. I will give them that they were very speedy in the process to make an appointment and were able to fit me in the day after I called to schedule. As I was taken into the back to get the regular checkup portion done, the tech that was operating the machines offered to dilate my eyes for an extra $20. I declined much to her chagrin and she promptly began to get an attitude saying Well, if you havent had it done in 4 years, then you should. It was the tone in her voice that was very off-putting. After much bantering, I finally caved and agreed to the extra charge to have my eyes dilated. I will say that the doctor that I saw was very pleasant and professional. No complaints there. Then came the time to pick out new frames. Unfortunately they didnt have the frames I was looking for but no big deal. As I was looking around for frames similar to the ones that I wanted, another girl came over and asked what I was looking for. Every time I tried to explain to her what I wanted, she had a snippy comment for. Now Finally I picked out a pair that I liked and was in the process of getting them marked up for when they were to put my lenses into them. I was told that my insurance was going to cover everything in full. As the girl was typing, She looked over to me and stated Okay, now thats going to be $380. I have to admit that I was more than surprised and asked why the cost was so much if anything at all. She pointed out several things on the bill that were not optional, but thrown in extra features that I didnt have a choice to decline. Bottom line is they added a S&@# ton of hidden fees without telling me. After draggin my feet to pay for the ridiculously expensive frames, I asked when they would be done. The answer I got was more than off-putting 7-10 days! Now here it is a 13 days later and I still have no idea when my glasses will be back?! Avoid this place if at all possible!Update: Its now 26 days later and I still dont have glasses. My prescription has had to start over twice at the lab that MyEyeDr uses. This place is absolutely terrible. Dont go here if you expect any kind of decent service.
I dont know any other way to express this except...if you got a arm and a leg to spare, this is the place to go!
According to MyEyeDr a standard exam includes drops to dilate your eyes. According to the MyEyeDr location in Pikesville a standard eye exam includes having your eyes dilated. At the Pikesville MyEyeDr they have decided for Livingsocial customers using a deal for a standard eye exam, the drops are not part of the standard eye exam, unless you pay extra. This exclusion was not part of the deal as it was offered on the Livingsocial site and purchased. The Pikesville MyEyeDr was very firm that they have decided the drops and dilation are not part of a standard eye exam for Livingsocial customers, even though they are part of a standard eye exam for everyone else. I was not willing to pay $40 extra for something that is supposed to part of the standard service package I already paid for. After my reluctance to pay extra for something I already paid for they were able to offer this standard service that is supposed to be part of a standard exam “at a special discount price” of $15 instead. That’s at least a 60% markup if the cost is only $15 to do drops and dilation. Last time I checked if a company offers a Livingsocial deal they are required to honor it as it was sold, not choose how they want to honor it afterwards. In addition I had to decline the retinal photograph service a total of four times, this is three times too many having to say no to the same question for the same service. Their insistence in over-offering the retinal photograph service makes me suspicious that they’re trying to push it to justify having the machine to do the service. The sections of frames are not labeled in any way shape or form, so you have to try and guess if many frames are men’s or women’s, the kid’s frames were more obvious due to the size difference. All of the frames here are very highly priced, and you do not actually get appropriately high end frames for the pricing. None of the frames here come with clip-on sunglasses, which is a standard feature of many more moderately priced frames. Out of the overpriced selection that was available I found a total of two frames (in the sections where frames were unlocked so you could actually try on them on) that I liked and were more reasonably priced. I picked the frame I liked most, and then the measuring process was handled very quickly and easily. I was given a choice of coatings I wanted, and offered a warranty, with no high-pressure sales tactics. When my glasses were ready I received at text, at 5pm on Saturday, right when the office closed that night. If the text had come earlier in the day I could have picked them up that day. When I was able to come in next to pick up my new glasses the gentleman who gave them to me sat with me and asked how they fit. They were a little tight and he immediately took them and made some adjustments. He gave them back and looked at them on me, then took them and made another quick adjustment. I tried them on again, he had me look at him while looked at them from a couple of different angles and he took them again for another quick adjustment. After those all the adjustments they fit very well. The only way I would come here again is if I had another Livingsocial or Groupon deal, otherwise it is way too expensive to get glasses here. This review is a personal opinion and as such is fully protected as Free Speech under the First Amendment.
If I could make this zero stars I would. Don’t come here to get anything
Awful service had to have my glasses redone twice
Wonderful Doctor, fast turnaround,
