My dad went there recently as a new patient to see the optometrist Dr. Smith. When the appointment was initially made, we did not mention the specific reason for the visit, which was his eye condition of keratoconus. He was seeing another optometrist that did his eye exam in regards to his condition and ordered medically necessary contact lens which his insurance covered 100 percent once a year. Unfortunately his insurance stopped covering 100 percent so he had to cancel that insurance and obtained another one that did. He found Orlando Eye Care from the list of providers with the new insurance. So he went to his appointment and the staff was nice but not very professional. As a matter of fact the experience was terrible. The assistant was nice but didnt seem like she knew what she was doing. We had our masks on and she asked us if we got the Covid shot and which one (I dont even know why I answered that question or why it even mattered and I should have asked her why she was asking but I didnt). When we told her that my dad was there to get a medically necessary contact lens exam because of his keratoconus she was surprised. We also told her that my dad needed to check to see if he needed a new pair of contacts. The assistant started to tell me how much the contacts cost and what the insurance would partly cover. I interrupted her and told her that his insurance covers 100 percent for medically necessary contacts, so she had to find out and confirm and we waited. Suddenly Dr. Smith comes in all in a rush and with a seemingly aggressive attitude or mood and just started asking questions and I told him why my dad was there to see him and the issue he had with his previous insurance. He then proceeded to start the eye exam by asking my father to read the letter that was displayed. My dad responded with some difficulty and Dr. Smith seemed impatient. He then put drops on my dads eyes to dilate them for further examination. He said lets take a break while his pupils dilate and he will be back. After a few min, the assistant comes back and says we have to reschedule because they didnt know my dad was coming in for his keratoconus and for the medically necessary contact lens. She said they need to do research and get all his info from the previous optometrist in regards to his condition and the type of contacts he has or needs. I asked her why did Dr. Smith dilate his pupils if he is not gonna exam him and she said it was partly her fault because she didnt communicate well to the doctor about what we initially discussed. I just got frustrated at the lack of professionalism and courtesy that I told the assistant to not even do their research and get any info from the previous optometrist because we are going to look for another one. She did apologize and she did seem sincere but I just wanted to leave because it was upsetting. I understand they needed to get further info and get my dads records since his case is unique but if Dr. Smith had already dilated my dads pupils, he could have done an eye exam at least.

Growing up on Long Island, Im more used to a family run business than a chain of stores. Finding Orlando Eyecare was very surprising and refreshing. Everyone was so kind, courteous and professional. Very glad I found this place! I ended up staying an extra 20 mins just to chat with the staff about the family who ran the place for years. Like stepping back in time...in the best possible way! 5 stars all the way!!

The staff is nice. Their equipment and procedures are outdated. Their hours are inconvenient. One of the lenses for my glasses were made incorrectly causing it to pop out. Orlando Eyecare charged for the repair (glasses were purchased only a month before the lens popped out) and a week later the lens popped out again. Well since Orlando Eyecare has such inconvenient hours I never bothered taking the glasses back again. So I brought the glasses to my new eye doctor and they fixed the glasses for free- including reshaping the lens to fit the frame properly. It is disappointing that Orlando Eyecare charged me for service that someone else performed for free. The new doctor didnt care that the glasses werent purchased with them. They were appalled at the quality Orlando Eyecare provided with my glasses. Go to Americas Best and pay $99 for 3 years of exams and discounts on contacts and glasses. Im glad I made the switch. Better service, hours, and variety.

Great experience here. I chose this location because of the great reviews they had. Dr Kirk was so great, very down to earth. He answered all my questions and made me feel very safe and secure during the experience. The only reason I rate this a 4 and not a 5 was because I ordered a pair of glasses, I was told they would be ready within a week and a half and I would get a text to come pick them up. I called yesterday 10/03 because it’s now been two weeks since my visit and the receptionist told me the glasses have been ready since 9/26. She claimed to have sent me a text that I never got, I wish they followed up with me when I didn’t respond to the text so I could have gotten my much needed glasses sooner.Other than that I would definitely recommend this place.Thank you guys!

Honestly, the best eye care staff I have ever had the pleasure of meeting. Sarah took care of me from soup to nuts. Very patient with me and my very picky change of minds. Prices are VERY good and exceptionally reasonable. Highly recommended, but you should definitely make time to speak with Sarah. Might even want to bring her Starbucks when you show up! Works wonders with appointments!

Just called to make an appointment. Because my child uses staywell insurance (medicare based vision plan) they told me they had a waiting list for staywell patients and they could not disclose when they would take more staywell patients! Something is wrong when they wont take patients who are on medicare when they would see me today if I paid cash! Unethical and will not be taking my children to this place!

Although they were not able to repair my glasses (frames have been discontinued) their professionalism and courtesy were outstanding if it wasnt for the fact I was on vacation and not from the area they would become my primary care when it comes to eyesight

I regret the day that, due to Orlando Eyecare not being a member of the Humana (my new health careinsurer) network, I was unable to continue my 36 year association with Drs. Devine and Smith. The excellent personalized service, along with a caring office staff, fully met my needs over the many years, and I hope that one fine day I can once again benefit from your service, as I am totally dissatisfied with the alternatives that I have been forced to use.Michael Segre-LewisApopka
