I’ll be brief because I’ve wasted enough time and money on this matter. The timing chain broke on my BMW last November. The tow truck driver from AAA recommended that I have it towed to National Auto Center because it was close and they could fix it. I had it towed there they replaced the engine for 8 grand with 4 grand up front before the used engine arrived. To sum it up. I have had to take the car back for repairs every month since November 2020 due to oil leaks, drive train malfunctions and other engine issues. There have been times when they would work on my car and not give paperwork on what they did. I have learned to always get paperwork anytime someone works on your car. The drive train malfunction indicator still comes on and off as well as the check engine light. I took it to the BMW dealer and they informed me that the wrong oil was in the car. It obvious they cannot fix my car correctly. Due to the bad engine it will be hard for me to sell or trade in. I need my money bacK

Knowledgeable, honest work and fair pricing. I took my car in for a problem I couldn’t figure out. They took my appointment same day and also had my car back and running same day. The fix was simple, so they only charged me for the diagnosis. I would highly recommend this shop. The world needs more shops like this!

I called around about having an assessment of my brakes because of a noise I heard coming from the rear tire on the passenger side. I spoke with someone named Rick and he said to bring it in and they would look at it right away. I called other places that were tire centers and they said I would have to leave it for a day and they would check it out. Well turns out I did need brakes and they were ordered and installed in a couple of hours and I couldnt be happier. The prices were reasonable and the rates were good. Ive been doing business with national auto for over 20yrs. Never had a bit of problem. Staff has always been great, theyve always done great work. The owner is a real sweetheart, shes always treated me like apart of the family.I strongly recommend national for all your mechanical needs.

They dont honor their warranty. And sadly my son told you exactly what was wrong with that you could have replaced the one spark plug wire that had a hole completely burnt through it who cares that it was you and oil that was not the problem he told you there was a hole in the spark plug wire and you go and tell him that that was not the issue when I even with my eyes and so did another mechanic. Instead you tell him that it was fuel injectors which it was not but its okay we learned our lesson never come to you guys or shop again

I usually do my own mechanic work. However, for oil changes I tend to try and find one for a good price. Needless to say, I found a coupon for a oil change and decided to stop by. BAD IDEA!!! I can’t complain about the customer service, but the service on my car is a completely different story. Not even A week after my oil change I started to notice my car having problems accelerating. The RPMs are far above where they normally should be which is causing me to lose speed and use more gas. I’ve never had this issue before, so I noticed it as soon as it started. I believe the mechanic either purposely, or mistakenly Drained my transmission fluid thinking it was the oil drain. This is fine (as long as you fill it back up) but it was obviously too much work to dismantle the exhaust hose so they left it empty. I was told to bring the car back to have it looked at, but I couldn’t even trust this place with a basic oil change. No way am I letting them dismantle my exhaust!! Changing out the transmission fluid won’t be a hard task, but these dummies won’t be doing it!!! Wouldn’t recommend this place to my worst enemy!! Freaking 🤡

This shop does true valued work. All their technicians were prompt and very professional. Iv had work done here before. I am a former automotive technician and I would not choose anywhere else to take my vehicle to for any sort of work. Make sure you asked for their technicians Mike or Shawne they are very hood at their jobs and will always go above and beyond to make sure your vehicle is not only dependable but as safe as it van possibly be.

I am very wary when it comes to hiring mechanics, as most of us are. One thing that I look for is one who does what he says. I had to have a transmission replaced and was promised it would be ready on Monday...well, it didnt happen and he said it would fer sure be that Tuesday...well, it actually didnt happen until Wednesday...6 days after I first brought the car in. This caused some anxiety about this company. When I finally got the car I could tell right away something wasnt right, but decided to give it a chance...its been a month now and Im going to have to take it back. It has a leak somewhere and it almost went out on me. So, Im still dealing with these people. They said I have a 2 year warranty...well see what more surprises I run into and I will post.Im now editing the above review. Well, I can say that so far they have been good at doing all they can to do what they said, although the transmission had to be replaced again and the second one is bad also. They are now having the second one replaced with a rebuilt and it too will be covered by warranty...so they are standing by their word. Had a nice surprise after getting the car back the last time. They fixed my ABS as a bonus! No engine light on now! Im slowly gaining confidence in this company. Give them a chance. The faulty transmissions are just things that happen, but they are going above and beyond to make it right.

I cant say enough good things about this place! I was worried about finding a nice, honest mechanic when I moved to the area, but turns out I didnt need to be! Ive already been here once for a semi-emergency and the guys took great care of the car while I was away on vacation and worked with my schedule. They also worked with me and gave me their honest opinion about which repairs could wait (until I saved up some money) and which ones needed to be fixed right away. Highly recommend!

I needed to get an alignment done, I called on a Saturday, they told me to come in. As soon as I got there, they asked me what the car was doing and I told them the car pulled when driving they took the car back and started working on the alignment. They kept me informed of what they were doing and any thing that they noticed during the work. They showed me what they found, there was no pressure placed on me to get the additional work done. Ive always felt that when a woman brings in a car to be worked on, they are preyed upon to get extra work done. Not this place, the workers were courteous, knowledgeable and very respectful. The waiting room was very clean, the owner Jeanette came in while I was there she checked to see if I needed anything water, snacks if I wanted to have the TV changed. My car runs 100% better than it did when I drive in to get it fixed.

I came here to National Auto after friend recommended them I literally was three hours from home when the exhaust completely fell off the bottom of my car when the tow truck made a mistake and took my car initially to affordable auto I was initially given two different prices in a matter of hours and I told him that I was picking up my car and having it towed to national. I didn’t change my mind and I still took my car To National because being a woman I think a lot of auto places try to take a vantage of us. The tow truck driver from Seminole towed it to national where I was given a phenomenal price, excellent customer service, and while I was waiting I was watching TV in their air conditioned Waiting room. Rick kept me updated well that they were checking my car and when he told me that it couldn’t be done until the next day one of his employees drove me home. I think you guys are exceptional I wanna thank you so much for taking such good care of me and doing phenomenal work and being courteous as well. I would recommend them to any woman who doesn’t want to be taken advantage of!!!

Great place when you need your auto fixed. We use them at work for our fleet trucks so I gave them a try. Let me say that I went to the shop, they gave me a ride to work and then picked me back up again, where do you see that anymore? and the work was done will no problems and at a very fair price. I am new to the area so it was nice to find a shop that wont rip you off!!!

Not complaining nor complimenting just telling you exactly what happen you can choose from here nice people but I got towed 1/4 of a mile and had a diagnostic ran of course so I got a new fuel pump those 3 little things were 425 bucks I know a fuel pump for my vehicle for the nicer version is 150 so how did the the other 275 get tacked on just call around before. Dont go with the first shop had another mechanic look when they were done they did a good job just a whole week of work for me literally my whole check for a fuel pump

I have been going to National Auto Service for over 2 years for my oil changes. They have been quick excellent in their work, and have recommended repairs that the dealer (Toyota) should do under warranty. They were absolutely correct, and Toyota did make the repair without charge. I trust their advice and have recommended friends to use their services.

I walked into the most outstanding auto shop I could possibly find out in Tampa today. They treated me like family as the apposed the best deal they could find for me. They really work with you, I mean the staff is working at the highest level. I really like this place check it out for yourself

Needed a power steering pump replaced on a Honda Odyssey. Took it to this place and was charged $429. The new pump didnt work. Took it back and they replaced it. Second pump didnt work and leaked all over my driveway. Took it back and they replaced it - supposedly. Third time pump still does not work! Took it back. Fourth time - again didnt work - so I took it back and told them that the after market crappy pump that they were trying to use was obviously not working and to get a HONDA pump. Car sat there for a week before I was told it was ready to go and that they had put a HONDA pump in it. The pump failed again. So after five attempts to get it done right, I took it to a Honda Service Center to find out what was wrong. Their diagnosis: I had an after market crap pump on it and it was leaking!!!! Solution: They put a Honda pump in it, charged me $500+, and Ive had no problems since. The price would have been $60 lower had they had a pump to return for the core charge, but National had taken that one out five times ago... They gave me the after market pump that they took out so I could take it back to National as they had LIED to me about putting a Honda pump in it the FIFTH time I took it back. I asked them to refund the amount they had charged me as they had not fixed the problem, had lied to me about the part they installed, had my vehicle for 15 days over 5 attempts to properly fix it, and had nearly involved my wife in several accidents from steering failures while driving with my KIDS!!! They refused and said I should have brought it back to them a SIXTH time for warranty service. Of course....Right! I made several attempts to speak with the owner but was refused. So now I am suing them to get my money back. DO YOURSELF A FAVOR - GO SOMEWHERE ELSE TO GET YOUR CAR FIXED!!

I recently got my car back from here (transmission issues) they had it back to me at a reasonable amount of time and I’m pretty sure the car has never ran this good since I’ve had it. I have been going to National auto for the last 15 years. They provide the best service and are very professional. My famil5wont go anywhere else.

I live in Holiday and my car broke down in Largos area so because of the cost to tow I was talked into taking my car to this shop instead of my normal auto mechanic. I knew what was wrong with my car because for some reason the same belt kept breaking, but they tried to tell me I needed a water pump as well. I thought that was fishy because you can tell when a water pump busts as it will either leave a trail of water or at least hiss. They gave me an estimate in the neighborhood of $650. I called up my mechanic in holiday and he priced the same parts and work at $430 so right away theres a red flag. So I bit the bullet and towed my car to the mechanic shop I normally use in Holiday and it turns out the water pump was fine and the total amount of my repairs was $260. I will not stoop to name calling but Im pretty sure they saw a woman who had their car towed there and saw an opportunity to take advantage.

This place has GREAT and convenient service! Thanks to the new Store Manager, Rick, I was able to get my car taken care of in a short period of time and he was honest about what was needing to be repaired. I was not taken advantage of, therefore will highly recommend going here!

I would never allow my car to get towed here again. They replaced a part that did not need replacing, over charged me and. after they were done they left grease all over my steering wheel and as a result I soiled a pair of brand new pants when I got the car back. Very sloppy work.

As a new resident to Florida, finding a reputable car repair shop is scary. They gave me National Auto Service Center and I spoke with Bill. He let me come right over to see if my car could be repaired. My bumper was falling off, so they were able to repair it quickly and well, saving me a lot of money and worry about the bumper coming off again.I highly recommend this business if you are looking for great work, and honest, professional people! I see that there are a lot of fake reviews on this site these people destroyed my car I dont know if it was intentional but it doesnt make any difference to me I am a single woman who does travel for a living for fun I live in my vehicle regardless they took 20 minutes to completely destroy my life new radiator? Sure. do I need one now do they end up letting my engine blow yes Im so disgusted with the men and women involved with this place but God is real and I got myself a new vehicle and upgrade if you will no thanks to them they also tried to keep my car thinking that they can check the new radiator out and resell it I guess

Still waiting to hear from them. Brought our car for repair. Took 4 trips there to get it going, and still not running great. We had to rent a car several times while they tried to fix the problem. We were promised a fair refund to at least cover the rental. I have called several times to talk about it and they have not responded. 4 weeks now. Will not go back. Feel like we got ripped off. Close to 3000 dollars. Not happy

Brought vehicle in for service because they were AAA Approved Auto Repair. Bill lied and attempted to take advantage of us. Issue of car was resolved with a simple fuse, but they tried to charge us over $500 to replace the alternator, battery, and belt. After talking to Bill on the phone I got a bad feeling when I started asking him specific questions regarding the voltage of the alternator that needed to be replaced. He told me it was around 12.4 or 12.5, when in fact after leaving the shop it tested at over 14. We paid for the service to the fuse but declined the service for the belt, battery, and alternator. Took the vehicle to get the battery, starter, and alternator tested at another store and all were still good. Be careful with this place, they tried to take advantage of my wife and lied directly to me on the phone.

Wow! Finally found a solid repair shop! My car needed a lot of preventive maintence that I knew was going to cost me a good amount of money [transmission oil change, control arms, brakes and roaters and a regular oil change]. The total was a little bit more than I could afford in one session so they allowed to set up a payment arrangment! I am beyond grateful for that option! My car is running like new again! Permante customer!

MUST READ ALLI DO NOT RECOMMEND HEAVY REPAIRS (engines, head gaskets) at this facility. Improper or falsifying documentation... *(UPDATE to the Horrible owner RESPONSE: They DID NOT stand by their work at all, claimed had “NO” record of engine replacement when I went back well within the warranty period. “No documentation no warranty”. WHAT THE HELL?F150 towed to National Auto in Pinellas park for a potential head gasket coolant leak issue. Sure enough they recommend a head gasket. I also bought upsells they recommended. I trusted them because the AAA tow truck driver HIGHLY recommended them for the head gaskets replacement. It was on the way to Ford and he steered the repair to National Auto. HUGE MISTAKE ON MY PART. After i paid for the original repair and the up sell repairs, I picked truck up on a Friday night when it was finished before they closed, drove to storage unit a mile away loaded truck up for road trip move, then to wawa for gas.*IT WAS LEAKING COOLANT all over on the ground while I was pumping fuel...The next morning brought it back and left it there with truck fully loaded with my furniture. Manager called me back stated they replaced a coolant hose. Attempted to drive again. Still leaking, this time not as bad and manager said, “replaced coolant cap, its good to go”. Still leaking, they replaced freeze plug... Drove for 3 days, head gasket leaking again. Now he recommends an engine. The service manager tried to charge me another $2,000. They supposedly put in a used motor. No follow up. I called them 2 weeks later, manager Bill said “the used engine they just installed didnt work and needed to replace ENGINE AGAIN...... 2 sets of head gaskets and 2 used motors!!! It was never right. This is a complete embarrassment to the repair service industry! This is what gives mechanics a bad name. CHECK THIS OUT: after the 2 sets of head gaskets they wanted me to pay them more.? Right! I said to manager, “Please tell me how they discovered it needs engine? Manager, “well the machine shop said the heads were ok so it must be the engine block. I said, “excuse me, please tell me how the mechanic determined the engine block was ok on the first repair? Manager, “only dealers have those tools. I laughed and said ANY entry level mechanic would make sure the surface where the heads sit on block was with in spec and then proceed to send heads out to machine shop have heads machined/polished, reinstalled and replace gaskets. They failed to do their job. They took my money and didnt know how to verify the engine block was ok before sending the heads to machine shop and slapping them back together, it was never checked with a straight edge of any sort to insure block was ok!!!!... They didnt charge for the 2 used motors because they know they were wrong. the 2nd motor they put in was never running right either. I waited over a month to get car back. It never ran right again after thousands of dollars Trusted in the hands of National Auto. I tried to be patient and work with the owner.*The owner dodged me over and over. The engine they put in leaked again. The new manager said, “he didnt have any paperwork to show I had engine replaced at their facility”. ??? Thats false documentation. They said it now needs a water pump and not under warranty. It never stopped leaking coolant...*The owner never got back to me and was always the run around with oh she has health issues and and and . Im without a repaired car after I paid thousands for the repairs. The truck was useless and had to be scrapped for $300. It was the biggest loss and embarrassment I ever witnessed at a repair facility. I have over 15 years experience in “dealership” service centers: Acura, Nissan and Toyota. National Auto is full of Misleading information, False or improper documentation and incompetent repair techs. DO NOT TRUST.I waited a while to do the review to cool off, but the public should know they could be robbed like many others. Read the bad reviews and look how fast she responds defiantly.

Be warned. I took my car here because AAA recommended it. National told me I needed a new rack (steering) and because the parts that need to be removed in order to access the rack were rusted, they would have to be cut out and replaced. The car wasnt safely drivable to take it somewhere else for a second opinion and Im pretty busy so I let them go ahead. They charged me about $3,500. The new rack they installed failed in less than a year. I brought it back and they refused to honor the warranty, claiming that the parts were rusted again. I live in shore acres where it floods often so figured it was possible, but not feeling like being taken for a sucker twice I took it to Midas on 4th street and was told that National had installed a remanufactured rack (which, according to Midas, means that it could be a piece of junk with the housing replaced - in any event, not a new part). Midas also told me there was no reason to cut out the parts to access the rack, any mechanic should know that you just heat up the nut with a torch.Brand new Toyota stamped rack installed for about $1,500. I will be calling AAA to complain about National and am considering whether to try and recover the $3,500 from National.

Do not go here!! Hmm.... I am upset because one of your mechanic stole something out my car and you guys do a lot of unethical practices. And besides my unpaid bill is because I tried to offer you $1,200 and make weekly payments you didnt take it and I had it in my hand. I chose to have my car sent back. So if you dont want to be scammed by this place do not go there.. they use me for cash for profit even made a Consumer complaint.

This shop is horrible. I had a tune up done on my 2001 Chevy Malibu and it started running bad 3 weeks after i had spark plugs put in it at this shop. Well it turns out that it also needed spark plug wires when I brought it to my regular mechanic, and it turns out they only replaced 3 of my spark plugs!!!! My mechanic said the ones that are harder to get to on the back of the engine were never replaced. I had a bad feeling about this shop the min i stopped there. The owner Bill I think is a smooth talker and beware of this guy!!!!! Talking to my lawer now and have photos of the work not done. Dont go here!!!!!

Did a great job on my alignment

A tow truck driver recommended them after I broke down nearby. My car broke down 4 times (within a month) after my first visit. The 4th time was on the way home from the shop (they clearly didnt test drive it) and instead of sending a tow truck for me they sent their mechanic to attempt to follow me back. My car stalled 3 times on US 19. The first time the mechanic almost rearended me, second time he was no where to be found and a cop ended up pushing me out of the intersection, after the third time they decided to call a tow truck. Now here I am 4 months later (and out $1200) getting this fuel pump replaced again.
