This afternoon I wandered into Scribe for the very first time and was beside myself with joy over the kind and thorough service I received. Sara Hargreaves was exceptional to work with and walked me through some beginner tips and proper writing etiquette. She was patient with my questions and took the time to help me make an informed purchase. Her passion for her field is evident in her wealth of knowledge and she has carefully curated a wonderful shop of useful and high quality products.
Only the best quality materials and most beautiful merchandise imported from overseas are found in this woman run and owned establishment. The owner, Sara Hargreaves, goes above and beyond to ensure her guests, particularly brides, are knowledgeable about the product theyre purchasing as well as why each part of the process is of upmost importance and staying true to tradition.Sara is one the most hard working, professional woman I know and does a fabulous job supporting the community of businesses where hers resides.
Was waiting to go to the crepe cafe across the street when I happened to walk in to browse. Wonderful selection of papers and card stock. Sara was wonderful in describing the history of some of the paper. Must go for stationary and other high-end paper products!
I love everything about shopping at Scribe, from the exceptional customer service to the superb quality of the products. The Staff is genuinely warm and knowledgeable. You wont find a better selection of local artists and brands.
Wonderful small collection of paper and writing instruments but not matched by a welcoming owner’s presence. We’ll go elsewhere.
I am not getting married in Pittsburgh, but we ordered our wedding invitations from Scribe because of their wonderful selection and service. Sara was more than willing to go above and beyond and work with me, even though we have never even met in person. Our invitations are stunning, arrived very quickly, and she could not have been more helpful.
Scribe is a totally unique experience and offers the absolute best stationary in the city. I can say this with confidence because I currently live in New York City, and Scribe easily rivals any fine stationary shop here.Scribes owner Sara is an expert in stationary, wedding etiquette and invitations and was able to answer all of my questions when it came to my wedding invitations. Sara will help you word your invitation perfectly and will not let you make any faux pas when it comes to your event.I originally came to her because we really wanted to have letterpress wedding invitations and she was able to offer exactly what we were looking for. She might get some mixed review from brides that arent used to the level of perfection and expertise Sara has to offer, but this woman is by far the best resource in town when it comes to weddings. If you want the best you have to see Sara.I am very happy with the quality of the save the dates, invitations, place cards and personalized thank you notes that we ordered from her. My husband is an architect, so he is very particular when it comes to quality and aesthetics and he was wowed by what she delivered.Overall, Scribe is absolutely 5-stars and 100% perfection.
The expertise, customer service and attention to detail provided by Sara the owner and her staff were top notch. The finished product (business cards and stationary) exceeded my expectations and everyone comments when I share them.If you want something special that will impress, this is the place.
This is such a unique place. Theres a diverse selection including some of my favorites (Rifle Paper Co, Bernard Maisner, etc), and impressive custom services. Owner is sweet, very knowledgeable, and obviously loves the paper biz. Recommended.
I was new to the area and looking for a birthday card and this was one of the places I was told to stop. That was clearly not a correct recommendation, but when I walked in to ask, the woman working laughed, rolled her eyes, shook her head, and wouldnt even answer the question, so I saw myself out. The products may be nice but based on that interaction Im never going back.
I was parked outside the shop and the owner came out and yelled that I was taking up two spots even though there was construction being done on the street. The other reviews that said the owner was rude or disrespectful are correct.
Professional and knowledgeable owner offering a variety of quality paper and writing supplies.
Excellent collection of paper products. Not always responsive and gracious service.
Went in looking to just buy paper to take to a printer. Tried telling the woman working there that I planned on designing the invitations myself but she basically spent the whole time telling me what I was going to do wrong without ever asking what I wanted or needed. I decided it was time to leave the shop when she insisted we buy a wedding etiquette book because we couldnt believe everything we read on the internet....
I have been a customer of Scibe Fine Papers for 2 years. In that time I have purchased: personal stationary from Crane & Co. (in which Sara Hargreaves took an enormous amount of time to help me customize and personalize my stationary), picked out wedding gifts for friends, and embossed notecards, as well as professional pens.Saras shop is a warm, inviting, and friendly place. I value fine stationary and this shop is such a delight that I find myself getting lost looking through all the paper and items.
This was one of the worst experiences wedding planning Ive had so far. The woman working in the shop was so rude and pretentious and refused to give us any information without an official appointment even without anyone else in the store in the middle of a week day afternoon. Do not bother dropping in here, the stationary inside was definitely not worth the attitude. Just go on etsy instead.
Best selection of stationery and very knowledgeable owner and staff
Professional gift wrapping. A lost art!
Hidden gem when looking for pens, paper, and cards
