Seriously considered moving to Pittsburgh just to have this wonderful bookstore in my neighborhood. A bookstore with character, a little bit of everything, and a friendly proprietor that gave great recommendations, reviews, and local advice. Highly recommend for locals or tourists alike.

The lady who runs this shop is, first and foremost, amazing. Not only did she help me find some books, she also went out of her way to suggest about 10 novels she thought captured American literature. The shop has a great selection of classics, and if you dont find what youre looking for, you will leave the store with a recommendation of where you can.

City Books is tucked away on a side street in North Side. A lovely bookstore with an awesome owner who is very helpful.

Very nice locally owned book store. There isnt a super wide variety there but anything they dont have can be ordered for you for pretty cheap. They have a nice selection of Pittsburgh authors that I would recommend checking out.

We loved this bookstore so much that I proposed to my (now) fiancee there. The owner, Arlan, is absolutely incredible and the book selection is diverse and amazing. This place is a must-visit for every book enthusiast in Pittsburgh. We go back every chance we get.
