The two folks working (owners?) were super nice, quick at getting folks through, and love where they work.You definitely need to arrive early. We showed up at 7:35am on a Saturday and there was a line down the road. Worth the wait!

Hands down the best donuts in the area. Crisp, sweet outside and a soft, perfectly baked inside. They are very cheap (half dozen for $5). I went on a Sunday at 8am and there was only a small line and still almost a full selection available. It was well worth the early wake up and I highly recommend this place to everyone.

Wow, one of the best secrets of Pittsburgh! Now that COVID is mostly over, my family and I made it our mission to try these donuts. The first time we tried it was 8 am on a Friday and they were already sold out! Then my boyfriend got there at 7am on Saturday, waited 40 minutes for them to open, and still only fourth in line with 20 people behind him. However, these are some of the best donuts Ive ever had - particularly the donut holes, which are absolutely perfect. Plus, they are super cheap - one guy got four dozen donuts and it was only $30 (cash only). They will sell out fast and they are kind of unpredictable, but the donuts are worth it.

Would be helpful to know when open - I went to the shop 3 times this week at 6am and it was closed. Cannot wait to get more of these fabulous Donuts, just let us know when open!!

WOW! Is all I can say! The owners are fantastic and the donuts are even better if that’s even possible. The strawberry filled is fresh and delicate then Boston cream is fluffy and creamy and the chocolate covered is just perfect all around. Also got four donuts (3 filled) it was only $3.50!

What a positive experience! Great donuts that go quickly in the morning, so get there as soon as you can. It was my first time visiting and I didnt realize it was cash only, but I was prepared to leave and come back. They insisted I pick my donuts first, since they were already running low by the time I got there. and since I was only getting a few donuts, the woman in front of me offered to pay for them for me! I know that thats not guaranteed for every visit, but I have to believe that the energy of the shop influences that of the people who frequent it. Excited to go back. Great energy!

We went today for donuts. Not sure if they were open but got there around 920 before they close at 10. Was yelled at by a random woman who either worked there or owned the shop “come back at 730”. When we tried to ask if it was that they sell out or just have different hours from online she yelled again “730!!” Not going to try going back after that rude encounter. We had guests from Ohio too.

Ive never been here and its been open. Today, 4/24/2021 I got up at 5:30 to drive and wait in line. 7:30 came and went. Never opened. No donuts.This is the third time. Its the last time.Everyone says theyre good. I dont get it. To get some you wake up early, come, stand in line and for what? Maybe theyll be making donuts. Maybe.They have a Facebook page. Not the best solution but you could use that. Hey, were closed all next week or whatever. Last time they posted anything was November 2020 to say they werent open for a day. So the thought has occurred to them to do it. Just, choosing not to.It doesnt seem like they want to be in business, so help them along by not trying to buy their donuts.Dont waste your time.Go literally anywhere else. Because even if Dunkin has mediocre donuts at least theyll be open.

Stopped in this morning, walked in asked if he took cards for payment. He stated that he didn’t but that I could pay him the next time I come in. I didn’t want to but the man insisted. Opened at 6 but didnt open doors til 630....one of the workers was hurt so it made sense but well worth the wait! Donuts were still warm. Coffee is only a buck for a big cup!!

I would always drive past this place and wonder why people were lined up outside waiting. I often thought that whatever was being sold couldnt possibly be as good as theyre making it seem. Today I had the chance to go grab some cash and stop by Better Maid Donut Co. When I say they have the best glazed donuts that Ive ever tasted it is not a joke. My gf also enjoyed their apple filled donut. And the donut holes were amazing as well. From now on when I ride by and see the line I will be pulling over to join it. Thanks again!!!

Get there early and get in line. When theyre gone theyre gone. What kept me from giving five stars was the donut holes were just a little greasy. Delicious, mind you, but if you are sensitive to oily foods get the full size donuts. My wifes favorite were the coconut krullers. The glazed are the go to stand by. FINALLY made it here!!!! Let me tell you it does not disappoint. The owner assured me hes keeping regular hours 615a to about 1130 OR when he is sold out, closed mondays. So let me say Ive stalked this place for about a year. Would only drive past on my way home from working night shifts and today success! Totally simple old school hand made cake and raised doughnuts in all the normal flavors. No fancy BS doughnut that cost 2.50. The whole dozen was 9 bucks. Bring cash! Theyre so good Ill be back perhaps looking for 2 dozen. The wife and I have eaten at least 3 while just sampling the variety !

Since I can no longer eat donuts due to a health/diet restriction after today, I decided to drive 30 min to give this place a shot after always seeing it on top donut lists. Got there 15 min before the 7:30 opening time as recommended by many reviews. We waited with the rest of the crowd til close to 8:00 and gave up and left. It appears that this is a common issue after reading more reviews. Oh well...

The donuts are amazing. Best donuts Ive ever had. But its super frustrating to try to figure out if they are open. Half the time, when I wake up early to go there, they are closed, even if I go at a standard time (such as Friday at 7:40am). Is there any way they could solve this? Maybe a website that says - we are open at 7am today or we are closed tomorrow or we are sold out?

Today is March 20, 2021. This place is closed. There is no “Donut” sign on the building. They may have gone out of business. Don’t waste your time weaving your way to this place without calling first. They need to update the listing.

If youre randomly not going to be open, you should really notify your customers beforehand so they arent waiting in line at 7 am on a weekend for no reason. The have a Facebook page, why not use it? Even a sign on the door would have sufficed.

Absolutely the sweetest owner and most amazing donuts! I am not from the area but had read that these were the most amazing donuts around but sadly didn’t make it to the shop before closing; however when the owner saw us outside trying to figure out our next move he came out and offered us the last of the donuts he had since we had come so far for them. He was pleasant, personable, kind, and UNBELIEVABLY GENEROUS! He made our entire week and left us with the biggest smiles on our face! Definitely a highlight of my time here in Pittsburgh :) not to mention literally the BEST donuts I’ve ever had! Simple, delicious and perfectly made! Get up early for divine donuts!

I know on google it says they are closed. That is not the case. They are Closed on mondays but open during the week until they sell out of their donuts. (Get there before 730am if you want a chance). Their donuts are the best I have ever tried. They sell crunchy cake donuts, cinnamon rolls, speciality filled donuts and apple fritters. The prices are very low as well. This place is a must stop, don’t pass it up driving through the West End of Pittsburgh.

As you stand in line for this place...If you didnt know any better, you would think youre back in the 60s. The area is antiquated...and the store is dated. Adding to the old fashioned feel ...you need to bring cash because no credit cards allowed. Truth be told, the owners are just the nicest and sweetest couple youve ever seen. As for the dounuts?...not so great.

Exemplary cake donuts and delightful old school donut shop charm thats right out of the 50s. The glazed old fashioned was outstanding, vanilla glazed cake donut and donut holes were very good. Didnt love the apple fritter as much. They also had a variety of yeasted cream filled and chocolate glazed cake donuts that I didnt try.Friendly service and cheap as well. A great place in the neighborhood.

Absolutely delightful place. The owners are very kind and welcoming. I went here for the first time after waking up early for no reason. The selection is limited but everything I bought was delicious -- donuts, cinnamon roll and eclair. As many mentioned, there is a wait. However, I arrived at 5:50 on a Thursday and they did not open until 6:15. As others have said, they open when the donuts feel they are ready! Its a half hour drive, but Ill be back!

Moved out of town years ago.. I rave to the people where I live now. The timing was just right today . Got up early was first in line . They were to open at 6 am. At 6:30, someone came out and said they are running late would open in a few. But they had no cake doughnuts, only raised. They came in to late to make cake ones. Everyone that was in line got in their cars and left unhappy. Someone in line this is not the first time that this has happened. Very disappointed. I will try again when the timing is right.

You wait outside for an hour or more only to finally be let inside and youre told they dont have any donuts for sale or they decide not to open at all on days were they are supposed to be. The donuts themselves are delicious. It’s iffy when they’ll actually open and questionable if they’ll be fully stocked. The last 3 times I’ve been there they haven’t had any cake donuts. As they’re my daughters favorites it’s utterly disappointing.

These are hands down the best donuts that are made! I grew up enjoying these delights and they have ruined almost all other donuts for me. Theyre perfectly cakey with just the right amount of firmness. The icing is the ideal sweetness and the sprinkles add a nice touch. The cinnamon rolls are to die for and the specialty donuts are a nice treat to toss in with the glazed mix. If youre ever in the Pittsburgh area it is 100% worth your while to go out of your way to get these. Aside from the great flavors these donuts have, its the amazing texture that makes this place special. The way theyre fried, they get a bit of a crispy skin to it them, but inside theyre as soft and moist as a great donut should be. When something simple is executed so well, it is really a standout.

Best donuts Ive ever experienced.Opened a little after 7AM on a Saturday morning ... other folks that showed up said that they opened earlier (6AM?) on weekdays to handle commuters.Theres a little parking lot available, but also it looks like parking is available on the street.The smell told me that I was in the correct place (and looking at the Google Streetview pictures).There were donuts and donut holes available. Pay with cash to keep the line moving along.The donuts were delicious all day long and into the next morning!No complaints ... we are at the mercy of the bakers. Must willingly wait until theyre ready to sell to us ... they know who is in control!

Absolutely the best donuts I have ever eaten! Grew up in the area and try to wake up early when on vacation to grab some. My goodness, so good! Unfortunately woke up, drove from my familys house in West View only to find them closed at 7:45am. Saw others pull up too only to be disappointed. The ONLY thing I feel worthy to suggest to the owners is use Facebook more to update your patrons if you are on vacation or cant open that day for whatever reason. That way you can do it real time an at least give some heads up.

The hours listed on their website is incorrect. We traveled all the way from the far side of Monroeville because they have an almost 5 star rating. We got there at 10:30a.m. Sunday only to find out the place was dark, no one was parked outside and the doors were locked. Very disappointing!
