While working in the area I spotted this small corner store. I doubted that they would have any real food but, stomach touching back, I crossed the street figuring Id walk out with a bag of chips or something. How wonderfully surprised I was when my eyes fell on the sandwhich menu! And even more surprised when they began to slice my fresh cheese and meat right in front of me. Two or three minutes later and Im walking out the store with a roast beef sandwich on rye bread that tips the scales at 1.05lbs and 100% satisfies. Ill be back and highly recommend.

Hands down the best deli sandwich ive ever eaten in my life. The Owners were extremely kind and caring. The variety of things you could purchase fulfilled any need you could have. Overall an amazing experience.

Having lived adjacent for several years, I have experienced several changes in ownership of the Market, each with their own way of doing business. The current proprietors, are by far, the worst that I have experienced.Avoid 11am-2pm if you’re in a rush, as the lunch orders typical sideline whoever is working & you will wait 10+minutes. Prices are outrageous on everything except their selection of produce. Go elsewhere for your Boar’s head meat. Most of the bottled soda sold here is expired (cans always seem to be fine). Store owners refuse to enforce any mask mandate & will rarely wear one properly themselves (Witnessed today, 3/18/21) which makes me seriously question their general cleaning standards & food prep practices.Perhaps the shop’s only redeeming grace is the incomparable selection of Leona’s ice cream sandwiches & pints (also they have a great collection of salt & pepper shakers for sale).For all of this, I give the market 2 stars.

Love this place almost as much as I love the owners! Great, genuine people running an honest business. The soups and sandwiches are delicious. I’m not from Pittsburgh but I try and stop when I can!

I was working on a home across from this aromatic little store. Great home made food. Badly needed selection of groceries as well. I will be back!

Love this place! We live right around the corner and love to stop by for sandwiches, ice cream or groceries. Its always a pleasure to spend some time talking to the owners and you cant go wrong with their food!

Great little mom & pop deli and convenience store. Sandwiches are amazing. They use only the best meats (Boars Head maybe), cheeses, and breads. A great addition to an already growing community.

I went twice in one day (have friends over that way). Both trips yielded a fantastic sandwich. There is a little bit of everything here. This is a great place to grab a food item you may need for fixing a meal at home. Or just grabbing a deli sandwich. The staff members are super polite and helpful; you feel like family the moment you step inside. . . And THEY CARRY THE SINGLE GREATEST FOOD ITEM ON EARTH—Leona’s Ice cream pints and sandwiches.

Referred by one of their vendors and grabbed a great quick bite at this hidden gem while running errands in Lawrenceville. Boars Head deli with Pittsburgh Honey mustard at very good prices and friendly service.

Super convenient and filled with healthy options. Thr staff is always cheerful and helpful. Despite being small, they have a little bit of everything, so if you are in a pinch for staple, this is the perfect place to stop. Coffee and fresh pastries too! An excellent neighborhood market!

Incredibly disappointed by my first experience with the newest owners. They should probably try to learn a little about the Lawrenceville community and values before snapping at customers who ask simple questions. I was hoping they, like previous owners, would actually care about the neighborhood theyre in and want to be part of the fabric of it. I dont really feel inclined to spend another dollar here despite being a customer since the very first day.

Went in to buy a lighter, kind lady working tells me we dont sell lighters, but you can borrow mine. Despite how sarcastic my first review sounds I used to love this place. I wrote this review after I moved into a the neighborhood and was impressed by the customer service. I am now moving out 6 months after the new owners and I think its a fitting time to edit this review. This edit is already too long so bullets.-awkward conversations from the guy. First and foremost this is the worst.-first owners stocked products the neighborhood liked, new owners dont stock the store. Period.-I ordered an estimated two chicken salad sandwiches per week, months later still had to order (I live really close and never order anything else. Ever.).- last day in the neighborhood I ORDERED chicken salad sandwich and got TUNA. (Obviously the reason for this edit, although I hope I painted a full picture).

Better than I expected. Was helping my family in the area and was told about the place for a good sandwich if I was hungry. One of the Best small deli/markets I have ever been. One of the small Neghiborhood places that is Loved buy the Locals and they dont realize that they are spoiled to have it. Meat and Cheese are sliced fresh on The Best Fresh Bread you can get in Pittsburgh! True MTO! The meats are Top Shelf! Truly what a Corner market was. I miss places like this. If you can stop by. You will love it!

I also love the sandwiches, and recommend that you try the breakfast sammie.Dierdre, Dora, and their staff are fantastic and friendly, and they make any experience at 52nd Street Market feel as if youve walked into a friends house.. .and yet you can also buy your groceries there.

Wow this place is such a gem, I cant believe I just found it. The sandwiches are amazing, made with boarshead meat, and they lay the meat and cheese on thick. And the fresh bread they use is so good. This place would be great if you lived near by for groceries too, they have all of the staples plus some. Tons of locally sourced things too that you woildnt find up the street at Shop n Save. They also sell the boarshead meat and cheese by the lb. Seriously, go here, you wont be disappointed!!!
