Ive been to every auto mechanic shop in Plattsburgh and they all have pros and cons. The only con about this company is the long lines because theyre so good. I always get what I pay for. They always honor my appointment timely. Impeccable work. They always tell me whats wrong and what it will take to repair before they do the extra work or charge me. Great customer service and their prices are so low that it would cost you more money to do regular maintenance yourself.

I had 4 tires changed here. The staff was friendly, the bathroom was clean and theres a little wait room for you to sit in while your vehicle is being worked on.

Alway feel like I’m welcome alway happy to help when I need it and alway count on the worker to do there job and make sure I’m safe on the road !!!!

We are long time customers of Monro, and have never been disappointed. We truly appreciate the manager Chris, he is a genuine person once you show your commitment to being a Monro Customer. From the first year we moved to this area to now, we go to Monro for their timely and reasonablely priced service.

When previous manager / owner Stephen Bassett left, so did the customer service. I had used this shop exclusively for exhaust work over the last two decades. They used to be respectful, get you in and out quickly and the prices were very fair. The current management, without a doubt, makes you feel like youre a burden. Their motives and focus are centered around what is convenient and highly lucrative for the shop. No exceptions.

For the last couple of years, Ive been using Monroes and Ive had no complaints. They have excellent customer service. Chris is always helpful, explains what I dont understand, and the prices are affordable. I know Im in good hands when I drop off my car and they even fit me into their busy schedule when needed.

Went there for an inspection. They informed me my back breaks were bad said they measured 2 millimeters....I perform my own maintenance on my vehicle and am a certified aircraft mechanic last oil change I inspected brakes and seen they were legal but were close and needed change within the year...New York state regulations state that if wear indicator is hitting, cracked brake pads, or metal on metal then they fail...which was not the current case....took the truck to another shop and told them exactly what happened, they inspected and passed it...place just fails vehicles to make money...the truck at hand was a 2017 Ford F-150 with 53000 miles....my next step is to contact the New York state attorney general or better business bureau to inform them of how they are trying to milk people out of there money.... inspection is not a question of how long something will last but if it is legal at that exact time....go here at your own risk.

Recommended by a friend and never had a problem. Staff is always great and helpful when they can. Being in several jams at times and going/calling there. Never disappointed even when they they couldnt help me at the time. Not the first time to now (early this week). Will use them as long I got a vehicle.

Went to get my car inspected the person on the phone when I scheduled it said Tuesday I showed up on Tuesday and was told it was for that Monday before. I had to get an inspection that was passed due. They failed my inspection because of 3 bald tires even though they still have plenty of tread on them to pass and I told him prior that I had an appointment to get new tires that Friday and that was the only thing I didnt pass for was the tires. They peeled my sticker off and didnt even bother mentioning a temporary sticker.

Excellent job. They told me I needed a left front wheel speed sensor.

Chris was extremely helpful and able to fit us in to his already busy schedule. Great customer service and affordable prices. Will definitely come back and highly recommend their services.

My daughter went there this evening just to check tire pressure & they actually slammed the door in her face. As a business owner near colleges in the Hudson Valley, we are sympathetic to student issues with their cars. BUT I guess Monro doesnt care about our Nations youth. I am appalled at the type of professionalism this tire shop upholds. If I could deselect the one star this shop would get a zero on the parent card. Shame on you Monro

I recently visited Monroe Auto Service to get an oil change and a vehicle inspection. Despite not having and appointment and it being Saturday they managed to fit me into their pretty full schedule. The staff, and especially Christopher were extremely helpful. Exceptional service at a great price...a rare combination these days!

Got oil change and inspectlon

Made appointment on line to have tires put on.checked that I would stay with vehicle. Got there they said I didnt fill out appointment right they didnt know what I wanted or my vehicle. When I was looking at tires on site asked if I wanted to make appointment .did not get tires.

Total waste of time.... It was a Sunday afternoon I walk in and mechanic was flipping page of a magazine. I told him I need to replace a tire asap because Im coming from the city and its a long drive. He tooks 15min to prints out prices of the tire that I needed. He was very respectful....I agree on the price. He turns around oh but not for today... Tomorrow instead. I spend almost 30 minutes in the shop between waiting for the print and selecting the tire... for him to tell me he cant do it. WASTE OF TIME. He recommended Sams club instead. He could have told me from the beginning he couldnt do it.

The man at the front desk is extremely rude. We are from out of town and our tire pressure was getting low. We just needed some help so we could make it home. The man said you can’t just expect to walk in here and have something done. He said it would take days! Would not recommend this place!

Love this place chris and the staff are great and they actually identify and fix what is wrong with your car they dont guess or have you fix things that are not what you brought it in for unlike other places in town. Only bad thing is that they are so busy that they cant always get you in for MAJOR work that same day or the next.

Had a skid plate come loose and on verge of falling off. It was 6 pm and few places were still open. Monro squeezed me in last minute. Friendly service and flexible hours. Definitely recommend!

Went back, after recieving voucher because of poor service from the manager who was very nice and apologetic. Went into the store to schedule an oil change and find out if i could purchase a battery there. My oil change was scheduled but i was told that the battery i needed for my car was out of stock and that they couldnt order a new one because the supplier they used would only ship out five at a time. The person i spoke to said its not like they can put it in an enveloping and mail it to me. Cant seem to find someone that works here that isnt rude to me.

Sorry! But whilst it wasnt there fault, I walked in hoping they could quickly remove a frozen lug nut from tire that is/was preventing me from having new tires installed (Sams club doesnt have a heat gun for bad lugs) and the guy told me he could keep the vehicle for the day and would accomplish task after 24hrs, I said no. In my mind Im thinking its just 1 screw/lug nut how difficult can it be time wise to remove...so felt frustrated, and this place only exacerbated that feeling of whys everything always gotta be so tough this year! So dont try walking in for any type of service, best to make an appt.

Good service. However, the waiting room smelled like whatever they were burning for heat was not a clean combustion. I had to go stand outside multiple times in the cold because it was giving me a headache.

They have always done an excellent job on my cars; anything from inspections & oil changes to major repairs.

They may have the expertise but its only to make up for the entire lack of customer service. He told me that my car issue wasnt his problem, that he didnt care, and that they were closed when the hours clearly listed another half an hour. I have never met a more inconsiderate and downright rude person in a customer service field. Find a repair service that respects and WANTS your business!!

Chris has been awesome! No issues with this place!! The 1 time I go to another place (g&g auto to have them put tires on and do alignment. Which the alignment never happened) My car comes out making noises! Even though my husband has tried to see what on earth is going on...we cant find the problem!! So, Chris will be seeing me and my very red chevy aveo real soon! Hope he or someone at Monro can find the issue! (G&G auto did something bad! Car was fine until it saw them!) Learned my lesson! Will be sticking with Monro even if they are booked!

Wish I could give 0 stars. Brought our car here for an inspection, failed due to cracked tail light, all lights worked fine just a crack in outer plastic. They ordered the wrong part, then finally when they got the right part in they mixed up where the bulbs went. Blinker/brake light, one bulb is yellow and the other is clear. If you cant get that right you shouldnt be working on cars. Had to fix it myself and a massive upcharge on the part. Dont ever go here.

Worst customer service ever. As someone who works in the customer service industry, I can understand where customers can feel entitled with treating anyone a certain way, however, the situation that took place in the recent days at Munro Muffler in Plattsburgh was downright disrespectful. Took my car and the guy working the front desk was so rude. He cut me off every time I tried to speak, and I felt like somehow, I was being treated like a child in trouble, and almost taken advantage of because Im not very familiar with cars. He started telling me how my mother was yelling at him over the phone, (immature much?) because she was upset over the fact that the work done on my car back in April was a temporary fix. Yet somehow, we were never informed of this temporary fix, otherwise we would have payed for something to be a permanent fix. As a college student, my car is my only form of transportation, so I was stranded at this place, and of course, this man did not offer a ride or even the slightest bit of concern for how I was getting home. I eventually took a taxi back home, and then back to there, only for them to tell me my car needed a $1300 fix. Somehow from when they did a full inspection on my car back in April, this problem didnt show up. This man offered no alternatives, no consideration for my situation, and didnt care to speak to my father who would be PAYING for this expensive fix. Mind you, my family is 5 hours away from Plattsburgh, so communication is a must. After all that, we have opted to give our money to a mechanic that appreciates our business, and offers sympathy to complicated situations. In the past, my family and I have had excellent service from Munro Muffler, but unfortunately, it takes one bad egg to convince us to take our money elsewhere.

Made an appointment online for an inspection. Showed up for my scheduled appointment and was told they couldnt get me in for six more days. They said they sent me an email to reschedule but I do not check my emails hourly. They had my phone number and never called me. Also told me that they are usually booked out about a week, yet online there were four open spots for the day. Think they should update their online scheduling situation.

Christopher got the car in BEFORE the appointment time - diagnosed it -found nothing wrong and told us so. What a change from what were used to . Well be back. Thank you !

I made an appointment online for 11:00 am through Monroe’s app for an alignment . I got there at 10:35 . The guy at the counter never greeted me nor could you understand what he was saying he spoke so low. I told him I had an appointment, he said “ you don’t have an appointment, I said I made it through the Monroe app .he then said the online app is just an approximate time and he books appointments 4 to 5 days out . He never offered to to see if i wanted to make a future appointment. . It was apparent I was more of an inconvenience than a customer . I’ll never bring a car or refer anyone to them .And if Monroe as a company offers to give you the option to make an appointment through their app and they don’t honor it, what’s the point? .

Was told my car needed all these things and it sounded strange, got a second opinion and sure enough the car was fine.Unbelievable, Stay away!

The guy working the front desk is an A**hole to start. I sent my wifes car for an oil change and tire rotation. what we got was an oil change with the gravel guard missing bolts to hold it in place and it started to hang down. But the worst and most outrageous and piss poor work that not only shows poor poor service and consideration of customers is the fact that not only did they strip the lug nut threads. they didnt replace them and they did NOT tell me they did it. My wife started saying something about a shake and when I looked to see what was going on the tires had started to work loose on the lugs due to striped threads. This is my wifes car which she uses to transport our children around and your incompetence and fail to do your jobs correctly could have KILLED someone. I will never recommend monro to anyone ever.

The customer service at this place needs to be fixed immediately. I have gone here twice and have had people speak to me as if I am a child. Honestly it is just rude and unprofessional, but I found a local mechanic shop who is respective EVERY time I walk in.
