I read the reviews and decided to give United Auto a shot. Pep Boys quoted me for a repair, and it seemed a bit high. United Auto was able to get the work needed done at a really reasonable price, and identified another issue that needed attention. No pressure to get it done today, just an estimate. The work I needed done was quick and the estimate I received on the other repairs are lower than expected as well. I dont see why Id go anywhere else. Great honest shop.

Weve been going here for a few years. Linda, Charlie, and Cole are always so kind and helpful. They know is by name. Charlie is always honest with us about repairs. Sometimes hell even encourage us to go elsewhere if its better for our vehicle or our pocketbook. He also knows about local body shops and other car needs outside of what he can offer at United Automotive. Their prices are very reasonable. We highly recommend!

So i took a 2013 chrysler 300 for repair which i told the lady in the front that it would probably be the alternator cause the tow truck guy told me when he picked up the car he kind of checked the car and gave me his opinion and also i had a feeling that that was it too. anyways she told me that it had to be diagnosed first cause a tow truck guy wasn’t train to diagnose a car just by towing it so i left the car and she said that if i decided to fix it that i didn’t had to pay for the diagnostic just parts and labor which i did.(904.56 what i paid) anyways the car was ready the next day and since i didnt like the amount i checked the car and the navigation system didn’t work and a check engine light was on so i went back in and told the lady what was going on( just to be clear before taking the car there i checked reviews and i called and explain what was going on with the car before all this happened the car was fine no check engine light or bad navigation which i told the lady that it had just happen the night before) the lady and i agreed to take back the car the next day (today 07/22/2020) at 11:30 i got there at 11 and talked to the guy who fixed it and he told me i had to pay for another diagnostic for them to check the engine light and why the nav. stopped working and i told him why if i already had pay for it and he told me that they just made car turn on and that for a diagnostic it had to be a certain volt on a car or something like that i just told him that i wasn’t gonna pay more money and i’ll have to pass so basically they just change the part which i told them that the alternator was bad and it was and they didn’t do anything else like diagnose it again to give me as a customer a good workings car i just got mad and thats why im writing this so people will be more careful i think a mechanic should be honest and do a good job not just because they turn the car back on there job its done or tried to overcharge you for what they need to do. for an example the way i see it if i would of have a bad battery they where gonna tell me that it had to be diagnose and charge even thought just for that but if you decide to fix it there just gonna replace your battery and charge you just because they turn your car on and thats it i don’t think there honest mechanics but my lost just be careful and watch where you take your car

First-time customer here: The shop manager, Chuck, took great care to provide a well-researched estimate on new brake-pads and rotors, which was lower than other shops in the area. Work was done quickly and the staff was super friendly to me and every other customer that stopped in. When the work was finished, the final cost was even less than the estimate. Great work. I am not a family or employee of these guys, but Id consider myself a friend. Chuck and the rest of the guys here always do good work on my Buick Lucerne whenever I have something I dont do myself. They will tell you exactly whats wrong with your car if you want to quote it somewhere else, but Ive found their prices are competitive with any other auto shop out there if not a bit cheaper. I have a tie rod Im having them bid this afternoon I need fixed. They usually will usually offer you a ride home if its something that will take some time to get fixed.

I never worry putting my vehicles in there hands of Charles and the folks at United.

Do not go to this scam shop. I have a vehicle diagnostics OBD reader in my car which gives me information about how my car that would normally be unavailable; with the software comes a certified mechanic hotline. They diagnose your car, tell you whats wrong with it and the average cost to fix it within your area. These mechanics are heavily certified and have to have 20+ years of experience. When I called this shop, they scoffed at me and said no, we will take a look at your car. The car would start, and then stop about 10 miles down the road, and then I would have to wait about 6 hours for it to start again. I had it towed there; and the next day they said it was working fine. They claimed to have test driven it 5 miles. They said there were some wires that were disconnected. So they charged me $130 to get the car back. Upon driving it out, It broke down 10 miles away. I called very upset. They said they did a vehicle diagnostics and then offered a tow and another diagnostics with no verification of a refund. I know that is the case. A rep will come here and comment and try to blame me for all of this as Ive seen theyve done with everyone else. I talked to a few people around the community, including a couple tow truck drivers and they said to NEVER bring your car to United Automotive because they WILL scam you, and it is their signature. I didnt even tell these people my story with this company, and they had told me stories that were eerily similar to mine. So to sum it up, I brought it to a REAL mechanic, and they fixed it in half an hour for the same cost. I havent had a problem with it, and it runs beautifully. DO NOT GO TO THIS MECHANIC. They will charge you for nothing, then bring you back for a free diagnostics, and then CHARGE you again. Then if you try to breathe a bad word about them, they WILL BLAME IT ON YOU, and say they tried to help. That is how these scam shops work. The reply to this review will be We TRIED to help you, but YOU refused. YES, I REFUSED. I will NOT be scammed into giving you more of my money. I wasnt born yesterday. Also most of the 5 star reviews are from employees, family, or friends.

I have been going here for years whenever something more than a simple oil change is needed as they are not close to my work or home. Karl has always been friendly honest and willing to explain to me what is wrong and why it is causing the issue. I had the entire engine on my pick up changed as I burnt all my oil on the old one and siezed it up. They had a new one in in a couple of days. I had a slight issue a few days later not only did they pay for the tow but they did the whole repair for free. I would not recommend going anywhere but to this shop.EXCELLENT!!!

If I could give them zero stars I would. My family had been loyal customers, but will never go back again. Took the car in and to make a long story short they said they could fix it for 438 dollars. A couple hours later they called and said it still doesnt run and had to do more tests. Now the total is over 600 dollars.Later they said its even more money. Being very unsatisfied I asked to have the car back and payed. So for over the 600 dollars they did nothing but dig under the hood and make the car run worse which they admitted. They said theyll try fix it enough for us to get home( we live 1 mile away) after having the car for days, doing every test possible, because their mechanics cant( probably dont care to) fix it. I wouldnt recommend this establishment to anybody.

These guys are great. Easy to talk to and worked well with my CarHop warranty. Ive had trouble with other shops and CarHop, but not with these guys. Ill be back, whether I have a warranty issue, or not.

My wifes family has used Carl at United Auto for the past 12 years and she introduced me to him when my 2001 Ford F-150 needed some ignition work in 2006. Not only did he pin point exactly what it was, his estimate was $1000 less then the Ford dealership who said I needed a whole lot more work, and still wouldnt have done what Carl had found to be the real issue. Since then, he maintained that F-150 for over 200,000 miles with MINIMAL issues in part to his accurate preventative maintenance, routine inspections, and accurate and affordable repairs as needed. With very little investment, he kept that truck in top shape until I sold it last year with 366,000 miles! He also maintains our 1999 Toyota Camry (185,000 miles) and our 2010 Mazda CX-9 (61,000 miles) and there is no other mechanic I have ever found that comes close to his comprehensive inspections, knowledge, accurate diagnoses and timely repairs. You will not be disappointed!P.S. Ive owned one Ford Escort, and a Ford Thunderbird SC, so trust me...I KNOW MECHANICS!

I called several places about a quote on a water pump repair. They came out to be the cheapest and they were able to do it same day.

I work for a window washing company and we bring ALL of our fleet to United auto. Staff is always helpful and informative of what is going on. We bring our trucks here for maintenance and repairs and have never had a problem with being upsold on anything we dont need. You bring your vehicle to an autoshop for a reason, so they can diagnose problems and fix them. If you let united auto do their job you wont be disappointed. Our work trucks are newer so normally no problems. Brought my personal car in. (76 monte carlo) i asked them to tune up the aftermarket carburetor and set the timing in motor and they did. Went to get on the highway and at high acceleration it would stutter. Called up United auto and they DIAGNOSED FOR FREE ( because i had just left the shop ) that it was misfiring and that it would need spark plugs. Price was very reasonable. But there is no denying im a cheapskate, so i Drove it home. Put in spark plugs. Runs great!

Where do i even begin! This has been the worst nightmare of car troubles I have ever experienced. By no means will i write this review with ugly intentions rather facts! I brought my ford taurs there for a possible key, alarm, bad connection issue causing my car not to start. I knew it was something of that nature due to the theft light flashing. After the diagnostic......to my suprise they said it was not starting due to a bad starter and to put a new starter in would cost $450!! They did that......2 days later the same exact original reason i brought the car to them happened again.....yep stranded at work! I called them and had to pay for a tow again to get my car back to United. Mind you this adding up and the original issue clearly wasnt resolved after i borrowed 450 bucks!!!! They charged me again for another diagnostic....54 bucks.....then to tell me some other random issue that they could not fix and reccomend i take my car to a ford dealership.......i was in tears! And have spent $600 bucks now to not even have the issue fixed! I got my car to the ford dealership in plymouth......after the 1st hr they called and said mam....who put your starter in!!??!! Cause it was put incorrectly and due to that cause fuses and wires to blow and burn out!!! I told them united did 2 days prior......we were all in shock! Please if you want an accurate diagnosis of your car done and an accurate honest job done DO NOT TAKE YOUR CAR HERE. Im reaching out to them for a full refund! Rightfully so, so that i can use those funds to pay the ford deslership.....if i dont get my refund i will be filing a complaint with the BBB to help me retrieve my money back.....Honestly i speant 450 for nothing and it made everything worse not to mention my tow costs....it has been a car horror story. Pray for me as a single mom that i can at least get my money back..... horrofic, traumatizing, disappointing experience! :(

Treated me like a stereotypical shop treats a woman talked to me like I didnt know anything (Charlie) and over charged me for labor... Sad because Chuck (not Charlie) is a good mechanic that can be trusted. Charlie at the desk is arrogant and rude.
