PP&Spas couldnt even deliver our purchased spa on time as promised. Wouldnt return our phone calls..kept telling us it was on some truck en-route ..for a month??Finally we went to the store location and they gave us a floor model. After less than 2 months of actually having it ..theres a sensor problem, it wont heat and already we have made 4 calls and been promised a service call that hasnt happened.4 days later, after being promised a time window for the service call-no call-- no nothing again. After calling them back again Saturday stating no one came, they again promised expediting our service. Guess what..no call --- no follow up...the temps are dropping and it has no heating capability. They know this. Guess a $14,000 sale means nothing these days to them. We are very un-happy. We have an un-usable Spa that wont heat and its almost Nov. 1st.10-28-2021 Update:To OWNER:Thank you for supplying us with someone we could contact who could get things done for us. After the initial fiasco of not getting our Spa until 6 weeks after it was promised when it stopped working so soon it had already left a bad taste in our mouth- in that no one seemed to care to let us know anything -no communication whatsoever--as though we were off the radar completely and that we had to come in after waiting six weeks to find out where our new hot tub was. So I hope you can understand our complete frustration.Brandon was very effective in getting our Spa serviced and back up and running nicely. We very much understand how busy things are in this time of short staffing across America and no one knows that more than I do as I work in Health care. However, Justin mentioned that PP&Spas had many pools to close and that is why they were so busy. We could not understand how a pool closing could pre-empt a newly purchased Spa that stopped working so soon and that was late on initial arrival to begin with. Thank you very much for responding to our initial review with help for us. Someone was out to fix the issue within 48 hours after your reply. Thanks Brandon for your help!Ellen & Robb Empson
As a first time pool owner, we booked Performance for the pool opening (completed 4/20/21) and to help educate us on maintenance. I have to say that working with them has been flawless. Communication was clear and punctual during scheduling and leading up to the appointment. The techs that came out for the service were fast, knowledgeable, and honest with what we should and shouldnt focus on while maintaining the pool. They were patient and answered all of our questions with additional info we didnt think to ask. We will absolutely continue to work with Performance in the future.
Awful. We just bought a house with a pool. Being new pool owners, I called to ask if they have a “how to run a pool” class. I was told, yes, we offer an orientation. I signed up.I was told the service person would call me day of to confirm appointment. He called, we agreed to 8:30. I arrived at the house at 8:30. He arrived early- and subsequently starting billing me from when he arrived... not from our appointment time. The truth is, they don’t offer an orientation. They have service people in the area that will stop by to answer questions. Examples.1. I asked him to test the water- PPS sold us drops- his answer. “I don’t know how to use drops, I only use strips”. He did take time to read the directions...2. For chemicals, his answer was.. just ask at the store and they’ll sell you what you need.3. I asked about the boost. He hit a button and said it would shut off in 24 hours. 36 hours later, it had not shut off. I had to call and leave a msg to figure out how to shut off the boost. An orientation should have something to justify the charge... as simple as “10 thing you need to know”. Or 3 things you need to know. Finally, I called to ask about the extra time charges... and the service dept was rude and quick to place blame. Incredibly unprofessional. In a world of options, I don’t recommend anybody use Performance Pools.
Always have the supplies I need.
I am no longer a customer of Performance Pools. We ordered a hot tub cover from them, thinking that if we paid a little more and ordered local vs. online, that we would be better off. We had been loyal customers with them for years in dealings with our pool. Performance Pools came out twice to measure our hot tub, and when the cover arrived, it was too big. We quickly discovered that there is no customer loyalty with this company. After several conversations with Darrell and him telling us that they would take care of it, Mike, the owner called and offered to sell me a new cover at cost. Here are the photos of how the cover fits. It leaks steam and water. I would definitely not do business with Performance Pools. The evening that Mike the owner called me to tell me that he would not stand behind his product, he also informed me that I was just one of his MANY problems with customer that he was dealing with - extremely unprofessional. I talked to Brandon and he again offered to sell us a new cover at cost. No Thanks
The retail location is open 7 days a week which is convenient and the guys there are always helpful and knowledgeable.I’ve worked with Justin in the service department for several different projects and he’s been great to work with. They got done what they said they would, when they said they would it and for the price that was originally quoted. I’ve worked with a few other pool companies and have no plans to search for anyone other than PPS. Thanks guys.
Joe L. helped us at the Elk River store. Him and the gals helped us make perfect water. Upon my request he showed me options for an improved filter that would replace the inexpensive and undersized pump and filter I currently have with zero sales pressure. The young ladies at the counter made sure we had what we needed. Thank you!
Great customer service and very helpful with all of our questions. Our pool is sparkling all summer long because of their help! Each year they do a fantastic job opening it and getting everything cleaned and running smoothly so we can have a fun pool season.
We stopped in to PPS. We were so fortunate to have Max working that evening. I recently purchased my first used spa, so we had a lot of questions. Max was so knowledgable and made us much more confident in balancing our tub. We were able to have him test our water and explained the importance of each reading. had us set up in no time. Such a nice guy too. Sorry we showed up so close to closing. thanks again Max! Keep on rockin the Spa world!
I tried this company this fall to close up my pool. I have four returns on my pool that simply unscrew and then they can be plugged for the winter. These guys broke them off, left the debris in the pool, and then plugged them. They charged me $229.00 plus tax for the closing and wrote on the invoice that the customer will need four new concrete directionals. I have put them on and off myself with no problem in the past. When I called they said they would get back to me. I am still waiting after a week.
Nathan helped me navigate the store and spa models well, very informed. The show room was pretty disorganized but they did have enough to see and more at other locations and warehouse. Prices seem pretty good too.
Dealt with Max, he was knowledgeable and helped me out a TON. great customer service and attention to detail. He even walked me through the process of replacing my spa bulb and cover mechanism. Highly recommend performance pool!
Get my hot tub chemicals in my pool chemicals Ive always been great to work with.
I usually dont write reviews but this place has such bad service I figured id share. I work for a commercial property that had problems with a pool cleaner. I bring it there they say 50 bucks to look at it. no problem, check it out and let me know. the guy calls me back says it needs a new cord they can order it for $389. alright order it up and let me know, he says it will take about a week. THREE weeks later I call to figure out whats going on. another guy told me, yep its done sorry we never called. cool I go in to pick it up and another guy says no its not done, we havent got the part yet. I ask whats going on why isnt it fixed yet and whats the timeline on getting the part. he says he can look into getting the tracking number but that would take a few hours. which is weird but he said he would call me back. NO phone call back. I call the next day and tell them im picking it up. in which I finally get a call back two hours later that says he can get the part in three days. I told him no im washing my hands of this company and picking it up. picked it up and ordered the part I needed online for $150 DOLLARS LESS then they wanted and it will be here in 3 days. I would avoid this place at all cost and will be spreading the word threw all my contacts and vendors not to use this place. in my four years at my current position this is the worst customer service I have encountered.
I was referred to PPS from the manufacturer of my hot tub, as I was having massive customer service issues with a different company. Justin, in their service department, got the manufacturer, myself, and him all together on the phone and resolved my technical issue. While this didnt earn revenue today, PPS will be my chosen retailer and service provider for myself and referrals from here on out! Thanks again Justin & PPS!
Updated Review: I spoke with Brandon and was VERY pleasantly surprised at how my unfortunate experience was handled. Due to Brandons great customer service and management of the situation, I have updated my review and would honestly give these guys a second chance. You dont see companies actively act like this to a poor experience, and that was awesome to see.....The issue comes down to customer service which PPS is SEVERELY lacking. Calling into the service department and dealing with their manager was painful and they were downright rude. The kicker was that all of this was caused by their mistake of ordering the wrong pump and them delaying their timeline twice. Overall, price was ok and the work done to my hot tub with the actual techs that were at my house were good BUT due to their horrible customer service I would be hard pressed to recommend them or use them again.
Great Company To Work With!
