Our experiencing with Adventures Through Kayaking was nothing short of spectacular. We had planned an afternoon ocean journey that was unfortunately made impossible by the weather (cant control nature) Instead we were offered a trip to the lake that I am so glad we chose to take. The scenery was gorgeous and Krystal was an amazing guide. Her explanations of the process, the nature and her picture taking skills were all top notch. I would definitely recommend this to anyone looking to enjoy some time on the water!
From Tammi who answered my email and took my reservation on Sunday for one person on the Sea kayak of Freshwater Bay at 1:30 pm, since the website required a 2 person minimum, to the knowledge, patient, and friendly Krystal our guide and the wonderful woman who pulled the right size wet suit out for me the first time, everyone has been a pleasure to work with. When you arrive, check-in at the register to sign the waiver forms and actually pay with your credit cardAll the equipment you need, you will be given. You should wear bathing suit shorts and non-cotton top to go under the wet suit which covers your legs. Flip flops make it easier to try on the booties. It is easier to come in the clothes you will wear since there is only one bathroom. You drive yourself to the location, 20 to 30 minutes away.Krystal got each kayak customized for us, then gave us instructions on land then practiced in the water before we headed off to a bull kelp forest. We saw a family of river sea otters with a mommy, daddy, and three small 6 week old pups on the rocks and swimming up and down in the water. We learned about the bull kelp and touched it and tasted it. We hung out relaxing in another bigger peaceful kelp forest. I saw a baby jelly fish and small eel in the kelp forest. We could see the mountains and Canada. We looked for starfish and anemones.Crystal took good care of us and provided a safe, fun adventure for people with no experience to experienced. We had single, double, and a triple kayak for one parent and two kids.Considerations:- You will fit in the kayak if you are 200 lbs. They have 4XL wet suits. The will ask your weight and height so you can be given the appropriate sized kayak.- The sea kayak hole where you sit is smaller than a lake kayak. There are knee pads to provide stability and they block a little of the hole too. Getting my wet suited padded legs and big booties in and out was a mini adventure.- To get out, it helps to have some arm strength to push your butt up and out of the seat and back so you can work your legs out
We did the 9am Freshwater Bay tour with Krystal. I was afraid to kayak in the ocean, but Krystal put us at ease immediately. She was friendly, knowledgeable, and assured us over and over that if anything happened she was prepared to help us. We were lucky to get a sunny day. We saw an eagle and the views were amazingly beautiful. We were not rushed and the water was perfect for a beginner to navigate. We truly enjoyed ourselves and would do it again if given the chance.
Such an enjoyable experience with amazing staff, a nice shop, and fun tours! We called last minute and were able to get a tour on the same day with exceptional hospitality. Kristal was incredibly knowledgeable about the area and conditions, along with being engaging and fun. I cannot rate this business highly enough. After a fun trip kayaking, stopping next door for wine was a sweet treat.
Wonderful if you want to kayak but dont have any equipment! My boyfriend and I rented a tandem kayak for the day and went to Crescent Lake. They provided the kayak, padding for the kayak to rest on the car, clamps, paddles, and lifejackets. The Lady there was friendly and taught us how to do everything from putting the kayak on the car to securing it.I would definitely come back here again!
Me and my mom went out on a sunrise sea kayak with Dylan as our guide. It was AMAZING! If you are thinking about going but are a little nervous, do it!! It was the highlight of our trip to the Pacific Northwest. The company is very cautious about COVID 19 and made sure to wear masks at times where physical distancing was not possible. We also were able to follow our trip lead in our own car to the boat put in spot. The sunrise trip is a must for beginner and advanced paddlers alike. The sunrise trip had calm conditions, unmatched views, and TONS of wildlife. We saw so many seals, birds, and sea creatures.I am new to sea kayaking and but have used a recreational kayak many times. Dylan made sure I was able to go on the water with confidence in a longer boat and even taught me how to properly use a rudder. My mom had only ever been paddling one time on a slow river in Wisconsin. To say she was a little nervous would be an understatement. This was WAY out of her comfort zone. Dylan took extra time in the freezing bay water with her just to make sure she felt safe on the water and made sure to stick close to her throughout the paddle. This was a great adventure and Dylan was a great guide. He shared knowledge of sea life, made sure we were safe and was even our photographer.
What a fantastic experience! Everyone we interacted with at the shop was energetic and cheery. Our guide, Chelsea, brought such a wealth of knowledge to the tour as a marine biologist. We got to explore many coves and kelp forests while exploring the coastline of Fresh Water Bay.Chelsea enriched each new area with details about the sea creatures and wildlife. We learned about the deep diving birds and why their feet are red, discovered the fastest growing plant on earth, and got to see a special type grab that hangs out up off the sea floor. If curiosity and information is enjoyable for your exploration, Chelsea way over delivered. But it was also just fun chatting and being on the water.Highly recommend this tour, you will have a great time! Thanks Chelsea!
Thee 👏🏽 best 👏🏽 - quit shopping and book now!! We did the Northwest Adventure with sea kayaking in the morning and mountain biking in the afternoon. Chelsea was our guide and is simply the best! She knows all the creatures and vegetation, is extraordinarily patient & has the happiest, contagious spirit! We saw bountiful wildlife and snacked on the freshest, richest berries on the bike trail. Smooth process, friendly folks all the way around and the equipment is top notch. A gem of a company!
We did two tours, both wonderful!!Afternoon on Lake CrescentFirst, the location...the lake is beautiful and HUGE! it is the clearest water we have ever kayaked on and the surrounding mountains are perfect! There were definitely a lot of people at the lake, but not crowded at all on the water. There was a fair amount of wind toward the center of the lake, but not enough to be discouraging. Seriously, though, I could have spent a whole day paddling around this lake, its that big and beautiful!Second, our guide...Dylan was AWESOME! He was easy to talk with and knows so much about the area plants, geography and history. During the afternoon, he gave us options on what we wanted to do and see instead of having just a standard route that we had to take. That was cool, especially since lack of flexibility is one of the reasons we dont normally do tours like this. :) He told us some cool native stories and local legends and plays the video game that my teenage boys are playing (translation...my kids actually talked to him LOL). To top it off, he took pictures for us along the way and sent them to us just a couple of days later!Third, the company...Tammi, the owner, is terrific! I am a picky planner for our trips. She gave me every detail I might need, answered my crazy questions and couldnt have possibly been more friendly! And, when I changed my mind about what tour we wanted to do, she just swapped our reservations!Sunrise Harbor Tour...with seals!!!We honestly spent most of an hour and half with seals following us or approaching the kayak! It was AMAZING!!Our guide was Chris and he was wonderful! He gave a quick lesson. We do kayak near home, but had never used a kayak with a rudder. He was super patient while we figure it out. He knew a ton of stuff about the area and the animals we saw and was easy to talk to. Large tankers were moving around the harbor and he was very careful to keep us clear of them. He was also careful of the seals, which we really appreciated! He realized a seal we were approaching was a resting pup and steered us away. He also gave us recommendations for hikes and other places to visit in the area. So grateful! We took his advice and had the most amazing hike that I didnt even know existed!Tammi, the owner of Adventure Through Kayaking, is great! After Chris convinced us that we needed to kayak at Lake Crescent, she switched our reservation so that we could. Easy peasy! The wet suits felt clean and we we definitely appreciated them!Seriously, do the tour! Get up early, get out on the water. You wont regret it!Bottom line...really great experience and so glad that we did this with Adventures Through Kayaking!
I couldnt have been more impressed with our tour. From the moment we walked in the staff was friendly and set a great mood for the day ahead while we got outfitted. They teach you everything you need to know to safely and successfully kayak, so even if you have never kayaked before they give you the skills to be confident on the water. Our guide, Chelsea, is a marine biologist who shared her wealth of information on the sea life and coastal waters. We saw a ton of sea life, including a cute little family of river otters, and learned all about how the coast line formed and what makes the sea life unique to this area. I would 100% recommend this tour and will certainly come back and do it again!
My wife and I did the Freshwater Bay tour and my goodness did it exceed our expectations. Weather was perfect saw some otters in the beginning. Dave was the leader and he is the man!!! What a fun fun day.
I was very excited to go kayaking but we woke up that morning with covid symptoms. To be safe, we called ASAP to cancel and requested a refund. Our request for a refund was denied (due to lack of notice), even though we canceled our trip to try to keep everyone safe and gave as much notice as we could. We ended up testing positive for Covid-19. We offered to give them our positive test for a refund but it was still denied. They just said that we should have gotten travel insurance. I was hoping that Adventures Through Kayaking would be grateful that we tried to keep their guests safe. However, we were just given the runaround.
WOW!! What a great time we all had! None of us had ever kayaked, but Adventures Through Kayaking made everything super simple, safe, and fun! They supplied everything we needed, since we hadnt planned on doing anything like this when we started out.Our guide, Nina, went above and beyond to make sure everyone had a good time! She was very knowledgeable about the local area, giving us tips of things to see and do out of the water. She has a Biology degree and knows a lot about sea life. She was respectful of everyones abilities and levels of knowledge and constantly wore a smile! She really seems to love her job!We saw a grey seal, which was awesome! We also saw a sea otter, a river otter, several Canada geese, a couple of bald eagles, starfish, and sea anemones. The water was calm and the tide was going out, there were very few clouds in the sky and Ninas lessons made us all feel confident out on the water. If youve ever thought about doing it or are curious about what it might be like, DO IT! Youll love their company and the people who work there! Theyre friendly and they seem to love what theyre doing!
We booked the kayak tour of Lake Crescent. They had us wear wetsuits in case anyone fell in, because the lake water temperature is in the 40s. We enjoyed the kayak, the lake, and the time we spent out there. The tour was not as informative as I would have liked, so I wouldnt say it was worth the cost. I would recommend anyone who is competent at kayaking to rent kayaks from the Log Cabin Resort on the north side of Lake Crescent instead.
Good folks! Very helpful and down to earth. They have great bikes to ride and are very knowledgeable about the trails. Highly recommend.
We had such a great experience! The weather was perfect and the lake is so beautiful. Beautiful scenery and crystal clear water. The guides were both great. Lots of knowledge about the area and so much fun. I highly suggest going on this trip!
I’ve taken many variety of guided tours when traveling and this one was top tier. What really puts a tour of the top is the guide and our guide, Nina, was everything you could ask for. You could tell she truly had a passion for not just kayaking but the ocean as a whole and was quick to educated us on all the living species. She made a point to engage with all six in mg group and the other pair that was on the tour with us. It was money well spent and the kayaking on the ocean was a hoot and a half.
We loved the kayaking so much, definitely a highlight of our time in Washington!I am a beginner at kayaking so I was a little timid when kayaking on my own in such a huge body of water, and both our guided were so great at staying calm and reassuring when I felt nervous. I felt comfortable in their hands.Crescent Lake is absolutely stunning ~ crystal clear turquoise water, surrounded by majestic mountains and beautiful trees. We were there in April and it was warm enough to wear a light long sleeve T-shirt but still see the snow capped mountains in the background. So so worth it!Crystal (one of our guides) even sent some pictures she took of us kayaking after the trip and was so great to talk with! Thanks to everyone at ATK, and if you’re in the area, go do it! It’s worth it!
I took the guided tour along with my friends. Neena was our guide. I must tell you that this is one of the best Kayaking experience I have ever had. Lake crescent water was clear and calm and you will get to see best views. Store receptionist were friendly. Our guide told us multiple stories about the origin of the lake. Overall this is recommended if you want to try Kayaking in the lake crescent
My wife and I went out on the sunrise harbor tour with our guide Krystal! We got followed around by animals that I am not at liberty to say. But they looked an awful lot like harbor seals. I hope I navigated that correctly.Krystal and the tour were super awesome! Getting up at 5am to go kayak in the sea is a very cool experience and I urge anyone in the area to give it a shot!
These guys are the best. Their prices seem to be MSRP without the crazy markup youd expect. Theyre very knowledgable (did you know you can get hypothermia from an aluminum paddle under the wrong circumstances?) and really just want to sell you whats best for YOU and not what makes them the most overhead. Theyre honest too. I bought a PFD there last week, paid the $100 the tag said, then on my way out the door they said, shoot that was supposed to be $90, let me refund the difference... Who does that?
We had a great afternoon trip kayaking the bay with Dylan Calinog in October! He was a terrific guide, so friendly, personable and knowledgeable, and he seemed to be really enjoying his job. He showed us birds nests, seals, tons of jelly fish and other sea life. He made us feel comfortable as novice kayakers and catered the trip length to our preference. The booking process was very easy and the office staff were super helpful and friendly.
Adam was a fantastic guide for the sunrise kayak experience. That dude knows his birds!!! Saw some pretty cool wildlife things. The Mountain View’s are definitely amazing.
My husband of 15 years and I decided to get way for Philadelphia and take a week in Washington state. We arent the most physical couple meaning hiking, kayaking, etc. But we signed up for a kayaking tour anyway. From the moment we arrived for our tour to the moment we finished, we were welcomed with open inviting and familiar feeling arms. Krystal, our tour guide and kayak instructor was more that we could have hoped for. She lead us the entire tour with a laid back but useful instructions on maintaining us above water. and without her evening knowing she catered our tour to us specifically. We had the most memerable and absolutely unforgettable experience you could have. If you are out in the Port Angeles area definitely sign up for a tour and be sure to ask for Kystal.
Im substantially overweight and very out of shape. This group hooked us up with great fitting, comfortable suits and gear, then took us on one of our favorite adventures after premium instruction. An unforgettable and personal experience we cant recommend highly enough.
Wowzers! What a perfect day! I could not be happier with the experience my family and I had with this company and guide. Our day started with an introduction to our agenda and gear by our amazing guide, Krystal. She had a wonderful attitude and had us all very excited to get in the water. It was my fathers first time on a sea kayak and she made sure he felt comfortable and ready before heading out. We had top of the line gear that was appropriately sized and in great condition. Krystal made sure we were all 100% ready before departure.Once we were actually at the launch point we were introduced to our kayaks and paddles. All were top of the line and in great shape. We felt very safe after our lessons on the beach and headed into the water... it was even better than I imagined. The launch point was absolutely gorgeous and continued to be more stunning as we paddled out. Vancouver Island and the Olympics shrowded in mist were a joy to take in while at sea.Krystal was very informative about the sea life and knew the best locations where they could be seen. We were fortunate enough to see all sorts of wild life such as, Herons, Blad Eagles, these cute red footed birds, anemones, jellyfish, and even learned about the different types of kelp. Some were tasty and some could be used on your skin... who knew?!Our trip ended with 2 adorable sea otters swimming close to ours kayaks and hanging around the rocks as we approached the launch point. All in all a fantastic trip. I must shout out again, Krystal, for her infectious passion for Kayaking and wildlife. The trip would not have been the same without her.Tami, the owner, was also incredibly kind in moving our tour due to a scheduling conflict. The Adventure Through Kayaking store is also a really cool shop with great gear and incredibly friendly service. Youll feel like home here :)Date of experience: July 2021
I highly recommend you visit ATK while in Port Angeles, they have an adventure for any skill level and very friendly guides and employees! I have rented a mountain bike and kayak from ATK and also bought my Pilot Pescador kayak here I love it. Tammi and staff will get you motivated to adventure out in the great PNW outdoors and enjoy all the offerings here! I would recommend guided sea kayak tour.
The 9AM sea kayaking trip through freshwater Bay with Neena (Im sorry if I spelled it wrong) was the highlight of our olympic peninsula trip, absolutely worth it! Checking in was a breeze and the kind staff got us outfitted with wetsuits, booties, life jackets and directions to the boat launch. Neena took time to honor the Clallam Nation, whose land we were visiting and teach us about the plant and animal life in the bay. She even had an infographic chart of common species for easy id! We stopped at a private cove to go tide pooling and found blue-green anemones, a tiny star fish, and tons of mollusks, snails and mussels hanging out. 10/10 recommend, best 2 hours I have spent in a long time
Awesome guide sooooo many seals!
Went on the Freshwater Bay Kayak group tour. Our guide, Derrick was very friendly and knowledgeable and made the trip stress free and fun. Back at the store, Dylan helped set me up with a mountain bike rental, was very patient and friendly and answered all my beginner questions. I dont think I got the name of the person that answered the phone when I initially called before visiting, but she was very helpful as well. I hope I got everyone elses name right! Thanks guys, you made my trip awesome! You rock!!
I worked with these guys first in 2012 and then again in July of 2020. I did two guided tours of Lake Crescent with friends. The instructors were Dylan and Ryan. We had such a great time! Great staff, very friendly and knowledgeable. Great experience. Thank you so much!
I recently booked the Sunrise Tour with Dylan and it was wonderful. The water that morning was still and quiet. It was the perfect start to my day. Dylan was very thorough in his instructions and guidance throughout the tour. Having only kayaked once before, I was confident in what I learned and was very comfortable maneuvering through the water.I was delighted to find that the seals in the harbor are very curious and friendly and will swim around and follow you as you row. There were so many of them and they were all so interested in our tour :DAs we made our way through the harbor, Dylan showed me “the aquarium” or docks which were full of marine life. He was very knowledgeable and friendly and explained a lot about the various animals and answered all my questions about everything we saw. It was a lot of fun for a nerd like me to learn about sea creatures in their habitat.I definitely recommend booking this tour. It was worth the fee and the early start time. All you have to do is show up and follow the adventure!Thank you Dylan, and everyone at Adventures Through Kayaking! I had a wonderful time!
My first time kayaking and it was wonderful. Entire staff was very helpful. Weather was beautiful. Nina was a great tour guide and educated the entire group on many things regarding sea life. Would highly recommend to anyone visiting the Seattle area !Thanks again :)
We did a sunrise kayak tour with Dylan to finish off our vacation and it was absolutely the highlight of our trip! Dylan was a wonderful guide who was accommodating and knowledgeable. We were able to see everything from seals to starfish and had a beautiful sunrise view to top it off. Special thanIs to Sammie for the hospitality :)
Helpful and accommodating even when our plans changed.
Booked a private tour yesterday to celebrate our anniversary. We had wonderful time! Dylan our guide was great. He shared a lot of information about the sea life we saw during our morning paddle. We would highly recommend booking a trip with Adventures through Kayaking.
The sunrise tour was amazing! Our guide Dylan was great! Very knowledgeable and took us within a boats length of dozens of seals. If you dont mind rising early its a spectacular way to start your day!! Thanks Dylan and the entire ATK staff!!
Had a great experience with adventures through kayaking. Super knowledgeable guides and friendly staff that created a seamless adventure. Highly recommend!
Spur of the moment, decided to rent a bike. They had a great selection of bikes and got me set up 1-2-3, including a bike rack. Great experience with them!
Lovely fall kayak trip with breath taking views- the company made it so easy to enjoy the day and gather memories....Daniel was a great guide, easy instructions for beginners, full of information about the area and pointing out the sea life- even a little snack on foraged kelp....We plan to come back!!!
My fiancee and I booked the private sunrise harbor adventure. Showing up 15 mins early allowed us to get fitted for our wetsuit, booties, and a life jacket, get changed over and followed Dylan to the harbor with the kayaks he had loaded/prepared prior to our arrival. It was about a 5 min drive and we were soon learning some good tips for kayaking that we had not known before splashing into the harbor! Our guide got some great pictures of the both of us and gave account to the aquatic species we saw including seals and multiple kinds of starfish, birds, seaweeds, and anenoeme.
We had an excellent tour with Nina on the 4th of July! We were fortunate to have crystal clear, calm waters and views to Vancouver Island for our entire tour out in Freshwater Bay. Nina was very knowledgeable, enthusiastic, and patient with us as we explored the coves and saw some incredible wildlife.I would also note that the whole crew at ATK was super friendly and helpful. They were clearly conscientious about the current pandemic and adjusted their operations accordingly. We felt very safe the whole time and would definitely go on another tour with them next time were in the area.
Outstanding service!!! Needed help setting up an adventure at Lake Crescent and Tammy helped out! They had everything we needed!
Had a great kayaking adventure with the family! Dylan was a fantastic guide and really went out of his way to take care of us. Highly recommended!
First time kayaking was a blast and our guide Dylan gave us a great tour despite some rain and apocalyptic air pollution from the September 2020 forest fires. Would definitely do again if in the area.
We took a girls trip and paddled the 3 person kayak with guide Nina. She was fun, described flora and fauna and the service was awesome! Great experience ❤️ When in Port Angeles this is a must do...breathtaking experience
Unfortunately, they refuse to rent sea kayaks even if you have experience. Not sure why that is a policy. They do rent sit-on-top kayaks, but you can use them only for the lakes in the area
My boyfriend loves marine life and so i scheduled the freshwater bay tour. Dyllon and Ryan, our super chill and friendly guides, took us out for a few hours. They were very accommodating with the whole covid ordeal and he knew a good bit of information about the local marine life. We loved our time on the water and we managed to get some great pictures!
Our family (Ages 9 - mid 60s) had an excellent time on our kayak tour! Our guide, Dylan, is very knowledgeable about the area and about kayaking. We felt safe and he was able to give the new paddlers tips and extra guidance. It was neat to see starfish, jellyfish, anemones, and even a couple river otters! Tip: try to time your tour when the tide is low - you get a better chance at seeing more wildlife in the tide pools and along the rocks.
My wife and I had an awesome experience. Our guide was super knowledgeable and friendly, the beauty and wildlife was amazing, and their precautions given covid were ensured our safety.
It was an awesome day on the lake and Daniel is a pro. Well worth it.
Our guide Fitz, who is a trained zoologist, was amazing. His love of nature (and kelp :) was evident and added to the experience. We were fortunate to have incredibly calm waters. Saw eagles, seals, stars, urchins, anemones, and fish. They provide everything you need, just bring yourself ready for adventure!
We first took kayaking lessons from this business a couple of weeks ago and we loved it. Jake, our guide was absolutely wonderful and incredibly knowledgeable. The owner, Tammy is so pleasant. They were both so informative that we went back today and bought kayaks and everything we needed to do our own adventure. If you want to learn about kayaking, go see Adventures Thru Kayaking in Port Angeles.
Wow—our kayak experience with Adventures Through Kayaking was one of the best highlights of our trip to Washington. The recommendations of what to pack on the website were precisely what was needed. Upon meeting the folks at Adventures Through Kayaking, we immediately felt comforted by how well-prepared and knowledgeable the staff and owner were. We stayed warm the whole time with the wetsuit provided and felt like our guide had the skills to teach well and to handle any sticky situation if it were to arise (it did not).If you like beautiful views, diverse wildlife, or just being on the water, this experience is definitely for you! We saw star fish, anemones, crabs, jellyfish, multiple types of birds, and lots more. Our guide expertly pointed out animal and plant life along the way and taught us about each one as we saw it. He was professional, knowledgeable, and kind, which made what would have been a beautiful paddle on its own so much more enjoyable. We highly recommend a trip with Adventures through Kayaking. For those who love wildlife and the outdoors like us, you can’t miss this!
We went out on a guided kayaking trip on the 4th and it was amazing. Everyone who works here was great about social distancing and wearing masks, the check in and wetsuit fitting was made very easy and was super comfortable. Our guide Nina was full of awesome information and made the trip super fun. Kayaking through the coves was amazing, we saw lots of wildlife and learned alot. I would super recommend booking with this group they are great!
We originally were supposed to go the day before but they called and rescheduled due to weather conditions. It was an amazing trip, they provided everything for us, wetsuits and neoprene booties and gloves and PFDs, the whole nine yards. Our guide was named Dylan and he was really personable and knowledgeable about the local wildlife. We went down about 2 miles and stopped in the various coves to look at intertidal life and saw many birds as well. Then we went out into the strait for a bit and headed back on more open waters. We were on the water for about 2.5 hours. It was an awesome experience, will definitely do it again.
My wife and I booked the Northwest Adventure which includes morning kayaking, lunch, and ends with afternoon mountain biking. We are so glad we did it. From the moment you show up everyone is so helpful and hospitable. Our guides name was Jarrett. This guy was awesome. Not only did he prepare and guide us through the adventure, making sure we were safe and had a good time, but he taught us so much about the area from marine life, rock formations, forest vegetation, history of the park, and on and on. We had an excellent experience and would highly recommend to anyone!
Could not have been a better day!Jake taught us all we need to know about Kayaking, from paddling to rescuing ourselves and others.I feel like Im ready to start enjoying a new sport. Thanks Tammy for all the hard work in running a great business! We learned that there is so much more to it than just paddling around.See you all again soon.
Amazing business! My husband and I called last minute and were able to go and paddle board and had a fantastic time! The staff was very polite and the tour was breath taking! We would definitely return next time we are in the area!!
Amazing experience! Would recommend this to anyone visiting Port Angeles and the Olympic Peninsula. Everyone was friendly and welcoming from the moment we arrived. Tom and Dorian were our guides for the day...great guys. They were not only very knowledgeable about the area, scenery, plants and wildlife, but fun and energetic about the entire experience. We had a beautiful day on the water with mostly sunny skies, only slight breezes and relatively calm water. On our excursion we saw bald eagles, a few deer, and a hand full of seals sunny on the rocks, as well as and abundance of other waterfowl, sea creatures and plant life. It is a trip that shouldnt be missed when planning your trip to the OP.
Absolutely recommend this place for your kayaking, paddle boarding, or mountain biking adventure! Great newer gear that is well maintained. Very flexible with scheduling. We came in the off season to do some biking and Pete came in late on his own time so we could drop off later than scheduled hours. Thanks guys!
Excellent group tour on the sea kayaks with Dylan as our informative guide.
The guided tour was very interesting. So many things to see and learn about. The weather was perfect. The staff were superb!
This was our first guided kayak trip, and we loved it! Everyone was incredibly friendly and professional; it was a fantastic trip from start to finish. They provided all the gear, as well as guide and transport down to the bay. The guide was very professional and competent, even though he said he had only been on the job for 2 weeks. We happened to be the only people that signed up for a tour that day, so it was just us and the guide, which was awesome! Rather than wait and paddle around the bay while people learn the basics of kayaking, he was able to assess our skill level quickly, and let us start cove jumping right away.Even tho the tide was coming in we still got to see lots of wildlife, and the scenery was incredible. It was a very awesome 2 hours, and well worth the money, at least for us. The experience might be a lot different with a full tour group. We were very lucky that it turned out to be just us.The winery next door gave us a free wine tasting when we got back too, which was also very cool.
Wonderful experience. Took the 9:00 am half day paddle, starting out at Freshwater Bay. Jim, our guide, was fantastic! Very knowledgeable about padding and the area. Saw seals, otters, schools of fish, jellyfish of all shapes and sizes and starfish. Our paddle was one of the highlights of our trip to the Pacific Northwest.I cant recommend this outfit highly enough. Everything about them is top notch.
What a great paddle with a great group! We were well taken care of and we got to see some sunshine, wildlife and marine life. We were also given suggestions for hikes and sights around the peninsula by Jarrett; it was very helpful!Even having grown up in Washington state, this trip was worth it and I learned a lot.
This was a great excursion. They had all the equipment to keep us warm and dry in all sizes from the smallest kid to the big adults. The kayaks were very easy to navigate. We went slowly popping into little coves to see seals hiding in the bull kelp. We also got to see and even hold jelly fish.Afterwards we went to the free wine tasting. While the flavors werent for us, we left with cheese!
One of our favorite days of the whole trip! They outfit you completely to kayak in these cold waters. Everyone was really nice. Our tour guide John just made our day. His enthusiasm, knowledge of the waters and local flora/fauna, and his teachings skills to beginner kayakers like us, it was priceless. The bay views on the water are simply stunning. Cliffs all around you, mountains in the distance, just you and the birds and the distant boats in all that water. I highly recommend adding this to your PNW trip if possible! Great company!
Our kayaking trip was one of the highlights of our 2 week Pacific northwest trip. Our guide was phenomenal and tailored the tour to the group we had. We saw a great diversity of wildlife! I highly recommend this to all people interested in a great way to explore the Port Angeles area.
We did a great mountain bike tour of the Adventure trail. Staff was friendly, knowledgeable and courteous. Great company, I would like to try one of their kayak tours.
Amazing and knowledge staff. Did the 1/2 day tour in Freshwater Bay and thoroughly enjoyed the information shared by our guide
Nice paddle shop five minutes outside Port Angeles. They sell Cetus, Nigel Dennis, and Eddyline kayaks. They offer paddle and mountain bike trips to various locations on the north side of the Olympic Peninsula. You can rent wetsuits.
We had a great time on the Sunset Tour last Friday. Dorian our guide was very knowledgeable of the area, eco system, ocean, geology, wildlife and of course teaching us the kayak basics. They had all the gear to keep us warm, safe and dry making this a very pleasant trip. I would highly recommend this trip to anyone wanting to learn more about the area and kayaking.
We kayaked Lake Cresent. Absolutely beautiful! Our guide Kevin was great and knew a ton about the area. Great trip all around and you cant beat the scenery!
Dorian was so helpful, informative and patient. My grand daughter and I were in a tandem kayak, her first experience and it was a delightful experience. We saw seals, an eagle, lots of fish. Highly recommend for an afternoon outing.
We took a 3 hour kayak tour. The guide was helpful and knowledgeable of the area. It was a pretty easy paddle that most anyone should be able to do.
Smart and super accommodating and sweet owner. Prices were great and location is convenient
Helped me outfit my kayak with great supplies and I took an awesome training course where I learned the basics and then some. Love the entire crew here and will be back for more stuff and adventures.
Very awesome staff, Pete went out of his way to be very helpful! The bikes were in excellent condition!
Tammy is the best. Love this place. Great adventures
Our guide was terrific. Weather wasnt fully cooperating, but he guided us along safely and still had a great time!

Its always beautiful and I always discover new things. The staff is top notch.
8/15/14It was a wonderful experience beginning with Tammie who answered all of my questions about the trip via e-mail/phone in a very timely manner and Jarod, the attentive tour guide who quickly ascertained everyone’s skill levels and adjusted the trip accordingly. We paddled calm waters, hugging the shoreline of gorgeous coves. Went right up to them to get a real close look at what’s in the tide pools (star fish, sea anenomes, urchins, barnacles, kelp, rocks, a few sandy bottoms, etc.) We saw some seals, a family of five adorable, playful baby otters and two bald eagles. All narrated by Jarod.I didn’t want the trip to end.
Instructor was great and very friendly.
