This is an average diner, very nice staff! I dont eat eggs and shouldnt eat pancakes so I didnt have much choice on the breakfast menu. We went at 10:30 am and got served close to 11. I was allowed to order chicken fingers (over cooked, only been here once so this might not be normal). My husband had creamed chipped beef and said it was okay, not like in the south. We would eat there again. The floor had something spilled on it (greasy) and the tile at our table was as slick as ice. We had to walk VERY carefully the rest of the way to the door so we wouldnt fall. They seem very popular and we had to wait on a Friday morning.
I used to love this place. Then I was diagnosed with celiac. I was excited to see gluten-free options high-lighted and substitutions on their menu. The 2 times Ive been here since diagnosis Ive been served my orders with regular gluten containing items. Thankfully, Ive noticed and caught it both times. I dont think they realize how profoundly ill a person could become if exposed.
If you stay at the Best Western then you cant go wrong starting your day here a its adjoined to the Best Western. Large portions at reasonable prices!Wait time can sometimes be long as it is where everyone goes to from the hotel, especially for breakfast.TIP: go through the front door and not the hallway that connects from the hotel to the diner. They make mention the long wait time but if they dont offer ask if you can sit in the lounge? There are no reservations there and it first come first serve! As a couple we got right in at the bar and had our breakfast in not time!
This is definitely our go-to date night spot, when we just cant makeup our minds on something particular. Large menu, a variety of items for all eaters, breakfast all day, great milkshakes and friendly staff. Their specials are always fantastic as well. Weve never had a bad meal here! If you love comfort food, this is definitely a place that will satisfy you!
I just love a great diner and the Roundabout is one of my very favorites. The menu is extensive and everything Ive had has been great with enough leftover to take home. Desserts are homemade and made only from natural ingredients. The decor is 50s diner vibe complete with music from that era.This is their version of a Cuban 🇨🇺 sandwich.
My boss Bob took me here for breakfast. I like my boss and I think he likes me. We ate great food. The waitress lives on the edge. She doesnt make mistakes. She had no eraser on her pencil. That takes courage.

Stopped here for late morning breakfast. Fishcake and Homemade Cornbeef Hash Benedicts were excellent. Pouched eggs cooked perfectly. Definitely a good place to stop and eat as it is just of I95.

Delicious award winning dinner in the bustling city of Portsmouth. The food was absolutely amazing. I highly recommend the phantom gourmet pulled pork and the country fried steak. They had a very expensive menu and lots of seating. Cool aesthetics on the inside and very kind staff. I will totally be back again to try more of their amazing food.
From the look at the menu we were extremely excited for the selection of good diner choices. We started with the cheddar bacon chips. These were wonderful and a nice twist on nachos. I went with the rids and the plate came out over flowing with food. That is where the disappointment started. The sauce had no distinguishing taste, no sweet, no tangy, no hot, no nothing almost like ketchup but that doesnt even describe it right. Corn beard warmed on the grill before serving and was offered butter which the waitress had to get, I think she forgot, so the corn bread was dry. Cole slaw again no flavor to speak of. No I dont have COVID-19 because my wife agreed. Her mac and cheese was bland and wasnt worth a to go bag. We will be back to try breakfast dishes from the choices that look so good.
Im not impressed. My breakfast was so full of liquid grease I couldnt eat it. The waitress, who was fine, asked if I would like to order something else. Umm, no thanks. The homefries were hard and overseasoned with paprika, cayenne and whatever else. Also swimming in grease. The place is cluttered beyond cute and looks kind of dirty. $33, never again
Food was great today especially the fries. Real maple syrup with the pancakes too! Also just happy to have a fun diner of this type in the area and so easily accessible.
Great food, and the staff was very friendly and attentive! The place was fairly busy, but the food came quickly anyway. Parking is strange, and maybe a bit scrunched, but reasonable. All in all, a 10/10 experience. Highly recommended!

Got a fried haddock sandwich that was filled with pin bones. When the waitress saw the little amount of food I ate she asked if the food was okay and I mentioned how there are pin bones with every bite I take. She told me well yeah, fish typically have bones and didnt offer to give me a different item off the menu. The French fries and onion rings were good and so was the fish besides pulling out bones...
We were seated by the hostess and told our waitress ( Chelsea) would be with us shortly. After waiting 15 minutes, the hostess returned to ask if we would like something to drink. Strike 1. So, we receive our coffee and orange juice. There were 5 creams to share among 3 people and 6 sugars on the table. Strike 2. My son asked my husband what was floating in his orange juice and proceeded to pull out 3 fruit flies. Im sure they are full of protein but my husband gets plenty of it. Strike 3...youre out. This place was disgusting.
I would recommend this to anyone who wants a great meal! I had the breakfast of eggs, bacon and potatoes with toast. The bacon is thick and sweet, toast is sourdough baked local, eggs fresh from the farm and potatoes done perfectly. All of the staff were pleasant and very nice... wish there was a place like this near my home!
Food and drinks took a long time to arrive. Place smells, bathroom is dirty. It makes me wonder what the kitchen looks like. I asked the waiter if I ordered a steak, would it be cooked on point at med rare? He said yes. It came out well. I didnt eat it and my friend didnt like his food. No one came over to ask how the food was.
All you can eat fish dinner on Friday was very good. Our party of 5 enjoyed the meal. Was very busy. Glad we arrived early and were seated immediately. Found no issues with the food or service.

The meal was decent. It was luke warm and took over an hour to get our food while others who came in after us got their meals within a short time after ordering. We had to rush our meal as we had another engagement that we were late for. We were from out of town and this place was recommended to us. A bit disappointing after driving 8 hours.
I stopped in for breakfast on my way up the coast. Everything was perfectly cooked. I especially like the house made cornbread. And, the coffee was hot and fresh! Lunch to go hit the spot after traveling, too. Shelby was a very attentive, friendly and personable server.
Decent open face chicken sandwich. (Though I learned I’m not a fan of Panko breading, not their fault.) Iced tea is charged per glass (at 2.95 each.. ouch!!) so if you like to drink it like I do, be aware. Other than that, the staff was awesome. Also, if you’re staying at Anchorage Inn, they do not offer a discount as their restaurant suggestions handout states (again, not Roundabout’s fault).
Well worth the 20 minute wait! Service was good, staff was pleasant and efficient and the food was very good. Ability to text when your table is ready is very nice 🙂

My husband had a blt and didnt care for the bread. I also did ans liked it. The clam chowder was excellent and had a lot of clams.
I always say never eat a restaurant connected to a hotel, but this one does just fine! The food is on par with any other decent diner and the service is great
We had been wanting to get here for quite a while after they completed their renovation a while back and we finally got the chance recently. It was so great. Really, really impressed. It was a delicious meal and we also tried a piece of their peanut butter cheesecake pie - omigosh, delicious. We also loved the coffee float, it was so awesome. The service was truly wonderful and it was clean - a great little diner with delicious treats, you wont be disappointed IMO.

This diner has it all: great food, awesome beer and friendly service. I had the grilled cheese with waffle fries. It came out nice and hot. The sourdough bread was delicious. Sat at the bar and had good conversation with bartender. Prices are pretty good considering the quality of the food.Came back for breakfast. I ordered the breakfast croissant: two eggs, two sugar cured pieces of bacon, American cheese served on a croissant with toast and home fries. And coffee to drink.Id highly recommend this diner.
Really cool retro vibe. Always playing the classics, and has plenty of old cool stuff to look at on the walls around you. Service was good a little slow at times, but due to most places being understaffed it is understandable. Everyone was friendly. They have some interesting alcoholic concoctions to try, but they also have the usual diner drinks like soda, tea, coffee etc. Breakfast all day is always a good feature. I got the breakfast combo plate with eggs, honefries, sausage, and pancakes. The sausage looked amazing and was the size of a hotdog. Taste wasnt the greatest, but this was my first time going so it could have been an off day. The pancakes were huge, and very tasty. Overall really cool place that you should definitely check out if youre in the area. 😁

Great place to get off the highway for a bite to eat! Well, not really. This place pretty much sucks, but I would rather see all of the tourist traffic come here and leave the downtown area for locals.
Delicious food that is reasonably priced. The chicken pot pie is amazing and a great portion size! Also really enjoyed the Brussels sprouts! The service was also very good. Would definitely recommend!
We ate at the Roundabout Diner last evening due to its close proximity to our hotel. Good food, good service!! We went back for breakfast today because of our good experience. We were not disappointed! We got good food and good service once again. When we visit Portsmouth NH again Im sure we will visit the diner again.
One of tonights specials was pot roast mashed potatoes and carrots it was the best pot roast I have had in a long time thank you so much to the roundabout for the delicious home cook food and wonderful staff
Excellent service, and delicious food. Large portions. We were in for dinner the night before, and the Muddy Pie was excellent.Im known for my corned beef hash, but I had theirs for breakfast, and it far surpassed mine.I would not hesitate to return.
The portions here are insane ! The fried pickle sauce was perfect and I left full, fat, and happy!It is pretty busy, but food still comes quickly
This was recommended by a local for a great lunch. When we showed up they were not impressed with our party of 10. They made room for us, but it was a miserable experience. The server didnt want to be there. I had to wait for my drink when we got our food because Everytime she went by I tried to get her attention but never looked at us. Only 3 out of the 10 got what they wanted or made how they wanted. I know that part was not her fault. It would take a lot for me to go back. I hope other people have better experiences.

A bit of the old time diner feel with music from the fifties, such as Chuck Berrys Mabaline, playing from overhead speakers.Food was good, but it didnt stand out from similar dishes I have had elsewhere. I had the Thai glazed salmon with glazed carrots and mashed potatoes. I thought the portions were a little small compared to price. The carrot cake I had for dessert was different. I had a huge slice! I couldnt finish it:). Coffee was good.Service was good, but, none of the staff smiled. My server seemed a little flustered. My meal was served quickly.The restaurant was cold. I never took my jacket off. Weather outside was cold and very windy, so, I understand if the heater couldnt keep up.Kids are welcome. Crayons and drawing mats are provided.This restaurant is way better than the Howard Johnson that use to be here!

If you can find it, you wont be sad. Its wedged between a roundabout (hence the name) a bridge thats under construction, and a couple hotels. Its decor is nostalgic, the service is great, the food is great, there is a bar/lounge, a breakfast bar, and they serve all day breakfast. Nice family run business. Highly recommend.
Let me first start with the fact that I absolutely LOVE this place. It would have been a 5 star review, but since my experience was not great, I have to give it what it deserves. The food is amazing and the atmosphere is the coolest! Love the throw back. I am a firm believer that a great experience deserves a review as well as a bad experience even if the place so happens to be one of your favorite. Especially if it becomes a trend. The last three occasions Ive gone into the restaurant I ordered the same thing Egg white veggie omelette. And on all three occasions, I got the complete opposite. I feel like the waitresses should write down the orders to get them right. Its a simple process and can be the only thing standing between a great experience and bad experience. Not only was my order wrong but when I mentioned it happened on the last few trips in as well, the waitress did not even offer to reduce my bill (even a little would have been an attempt to right the wrong), nor did she offer to take the plate back to correct it. Disappointed and it may be a while before I come back or recommend to others again. I work at a hotel in the area and we send a lot of our guests to the Roundabout. Moral of the story is this......If you are considering going, ask your waitress to repeat your order if its not exactly whats on the menu or politely mention she write it down so the chef can get it right.
Food is delicious and fairly inexpensive. I had one of the specials, baked haddock piccata, which was spectacular! Highly recommended.

Large portions, but the food quality is mediocre at best. Ravioli were too el dente, BBQ chicken was smothered in what tasted like canned BBQ sauce and hot water for tea was barely tepid to stew the tea bag. The only good dish we got was the roundabout burger. Juicy and well prepared, go with that if youre there.We got off the interstate to avoid eating at fast food chains, but are very disappointed for adding almost 2 hours to our 4 hour drive.

My chipolte bbq burger was amazing and my husband got the steak and eggs which was so good...this place is a cant miss when passing through New Hampshire .

Loved this place! We decided to stop in on a whim while driving to Maine, because it was close to the highway - and it was the right decision. Portions were large and the food was great - we got the pulled pork tacos, roundabout burger and roundabout club sandwich. Definitely get the onion rings! I also got a peanut butter chocolate shake that was phenomenal. Our server was so friendly and very attentive. 10/10, if I drive this way again Im coming back!Minutiae: There is plenty of parking in both the front and rear of the building.Theres free wifi and it was easy to access.The bathrooms were clean.Covid protocols were observed.The retro vibe was charming and the music matched the decor.

This was a very retro atmosphere and the food was great. If you want that Johnny Rockets ambiance (minus the jukebox) but with food that is 1000x better, come here. I had the croissant sandwich and my boyfriend had a standard egg platter. Whats also great is they serve booze! I had a bloody Mary that was pretty good! I wish we had gone on a Sunday because they have a Build your own Bloody Mary station.When youre driving here, the diner is right off the roundabout so make sure you keep an eye out for it. We drove right past it.
Arrived at 8:15 and was seated promptly. Our booth was in back by the bar. Would have preferred a seat in the front with a view! Coffee was good and server offered refills often. Ordered an omelet and toast with fried potatoes. My husband reports his bowl was good. My son had eggs Benedict and it looked great. Service was very good. So grateful to the diner for being open and safe.
My husband and I took the grandkids for lunch. The bbq sauce on the grilled bbq chicken was runny without much flavor. The fish in the fish and chips were so well done had to pull the breading off the fish to eat it. Nice Server. Overpriced...wont return... Maybe breakfast is better
