I was looking for Honda Ridgeline and contacted Poughkeepsie Friendly Honda website. Some sales person (seems to me his name Steve) called me back and gave me his price. After the discussion we made the deal and I sent him copy of my driver license and driver license info. Deal was done. After 30 min he called me again and said that the price changed and it will cost me $1500 more because his manager wants more money. I immediately stopped the deal and locked my credit card account. I do not have a deal with not honest rook businesses.

The ppl are friendly and sales man wadi was awesome . After having a couple days driving . I noticed a thumping in right rear ..2 wks went by and it was worse. I called and they made appointment close 27 days owning . Left car and received a call stating nothing was wrong . ( Its definitely a baring or strut in right rear). Two mechanics and several riders hearing this agreed its bad. Friendly serves said its not broken, so they dont fixs .So Im suppose to wait till Im on the side of the road !!! Now Im stuck with payments on a broken car. Sick to mys stomach .I bought this car so I would have a safe vehicle .

I worked with Carlos and it was my best car buying experience in years!!! He is a class act and there’s a reason he is the best salesmen of 2019, and most likely 2020. He presented all the options and worked every angle until we came to a solution that worked for my needs. He went over the car and all its features and setup the car completely with me upon pickup. Lastly unfortunately the car developed an issue after I picked it up. I brought it back to Friendly Honda Carlos, Papa the Sales Manager and Paul in finance worked with me and 4 days later found me another vehicle. TERRIBLE, TERRIBLE, TERRIBLE!!! We went there today to purchase a car we saw on their website. Almost went through the deal did all the paperwork and were ready to make the purchase, but had a question on one of their dealer fees. The salesperson Nate who is a good guy was explaining it to us and at the end of the conversation just when we were deciding to sign the papers one of the managers John came out and VERY RUDELY told us that no matter what this fee (which is an optional dealer fee by the way) will not be changed and that we need to just say yay or nay at that moment. The problem was not the fee, we were just trying to understand where it came from and if it was optional as the paper said, could it be negotiated. However, since John was so rude and didnt bother to apologize for his rudeness, my husband and I decided to walk out of there. I have never had a salesperson especially someone we were told is a manager be so rude. No one invited him to come, he didnt even introduce himself, he just came into the conversation and started talking down to us. So sorry but Im not going to put my hard earned money in a place where people are going to be so rude to me. A friendly piece of advice to Friendly Honda.... please train your managers to be respectful and pleasant to their customers.

Listen do not go to this place. These people are outright ridiculous! They are nice and understanding when your purchasing a car but when the car has problems they go ghost. I just recently purchased a car around May and it was giving me problems by August. They have had my car for a month with no updates. I have to spend so much money to get transportation to go to my job and to go to school when I spent almost $10,000 on the car already. They are disgusting and do not care. Do not go here. They do not do their job.

I highly recommend Friendly Honda! I’ve always used them for service, every single person in there is friendly, helpful and patient. Today I went in to the sales/finance department and Jim Libutti helped me buy out my lease. The whole transaction took maybe an hour, zero stress, zero headache. Jim was very honest and helpful. I honestly left in shock as nothing ever goes that smoothly, and I had been stressing over this transaction for weeks! Our time is valuable and no time was wasted coming to an agreement over price as it was transparent and clear from the beginning--no hidden costs added in at the end. Everyone went out of their way to make this the easiest, most efficient experience possible. Was told by mechanic I had to bring my girlfriends car to Honda for possible bad ECU. Representative told me that it threw a code for faulty spark plugs. Also told me her serpentine belt/ water pump should be replaced due to mileage. As well with a valve adjustment. You should replace TIMING belt/ water pump at the same time due to the front of the car being pulled. Hitting two birds with one stone essentially. This car has a timing chain and water pump was not leaking. After getting receipt for diagnostics fee I tried to troubleshoot it myself. There were no codes given to me on paperwork. With my previous services from dealerships they supply you with the code it threw stating the issue, price of repair and a yes or no to fix it. I knew something was shady. The next day I went in to get the code they claimed it showed. They said that’s not how it works. I asked to speak to manager telling Rep. this was all wrong. Manager was extremely rude (Turns out she treated my mother horribly years back). She told me to leave and that they don’t need business from people like myself. I told her I was heading to the district attorneys office and she instantly offered me my money back. Additionally I called for a higher up by phone. He was very helpful and told me the diagnostics did show a code for ECU. Im not saying 44 Honda is all bad but service side was a complete fraud. They found problem, didn’t tell me and tried to sell me on BS. Brought it to a family owned Honda dealership and hour away where they fixed are urgent issue. I hope this review is wide spread and an eye opener for the people who are oblivious to mechanical issues. No one deserves to throw their hard earned money away. Consider somewhere else for service. Im happy that I dealt with this issue and not my partner because we’d be 1,200 in the hole with are problem not resolved. Thank you, Kyle.

I was interested in a used car on their lot and was hoping for a trade-in. I knew what my budget was and I knew I couldn’t go beyond it. I called Friendly Honda and spoke with Tom, the used car manager and described my vehicle. Initially he said I could probably get between $8000 & $9000 for my trade-in. He seemed to be in a big rush to get me there, asking if I could make it that day. The dealership is over an hour from my home and I had other plans. I told him I’d have to come during the week, so he asked if I would send pictures of my vehicle. I sent him several photos and detailed all the problems and defects. After that, his estimate went down to $7k. I didn’t think that was doable for me and didn’t want to make the long drive for nothing, so I told him to forget it. He came back to me and said $7k was a “worst case scenario.” Hearing that, I figured it was worth a shot so I drove over a few days later. The appraiser took a look at my car and refused to offer more than $6500. That offer would not fit into my budget me so I left aggravated and empty handed. So much for the “worst case scenario.”Two weeks later, I noticed there was a $500 price drop on the car I was interested in. Against my better judgment, I emailed Friendly Honda to make sure my trade-in offer was still on the table. Nope — they were now lowering my trade-in offer by $500. Funny how that works. They can keep their car. I will be taking my business elsewhere.

Angel is an amazing car salesman but I couldn’t say the same for the finance guy that helped us. He was rude to me knowing very well my dad didn’t speak well English because he’s trying to sell their insurance.... telling me I was irresponsible and that I just simply didn’t care and would repeatedly throw it in my face after I politely told him I was not interested. I knew all about their insurance because we had already bought three other Honda’s from the same place. We won’t be returning to this Honda to buy cars anymore after that experience, sadly. Angel had given us an amazing experience for that man to just ruin it

If I could give a NEGATIVE 1 I would. There service department manager must be someone’s daughter because she would not have been able to get this job on her own. She is highly incompetent and has no idea how to do her job!!! I made an appointment then a week later went in and was told I had no appointment had to make a new appointment for following week. However, when you call they say they see my appointment. Friendly needs to get it together. You don’t speak ever to the service dept you talk to someone else in another building So random people make these appointments who dont know what you are doing then the customer gets blamed for their error. Now, 4 hours later still nothing done on my car and the Service Manager blames me for all of their mistakes. Horrible!!! Buyer beware!! Buy Nissan!! They fall over you at Poughkeepsie Nissan to help you.

I did my research about the SUV I wanted for my daughter. The salesperson I worked with was Bob and he was wonderful. I gave him the information about the SUV’s I was considering and he respectfully stuck to my choices and didn’t try to steer me into a newer model. It was very easy and comfortable working with him. The sale of the car wasn’t the end of it, he also showed us how various instruments worked.He even gave us a call the next day. Paul, the finance manager that I worked with was a pleasure to work with. Never tried to sell us more than we needed for the car.I will happily work with Friendly Honda in the future, with Bob and Paul especially.

We have purchased two vehicles from Friendly Honda a new 2006 Odyssey EX-L which currently has 187,000 miles and still going strong and the latest a 2022 Honda Odyssey Touring.The Sales Department is extremely professional. They answered all our questions about the vehicle and the purchase process, fees and such, there where no surprises when we made the final purchase. At no point did we feel pressured to buy the vehicle. Much of the staff we worked with in buying our 2006 are still at the dealership in 2021, for me this is an indication of genuine professionalism behind the scenes as well. Rick showed me the CR-V I was looking for, it had to be red. Someone was getting ready to test drive it so we looked at a few of the other colors and models. Once she got back and wasnt going to buy, I took it for a drive and knew it was the one. Rick started the paperwork and as he was walking to my new CR-V SE with a SOLD sign another person asked him about it. Cars were flying off the lot that day!! I picked my new CR-V SE on Monday afternoon and Rick spent almost an hour going over every aspect of the car including all of the menus for all the settings. So much has changed over the years. I was driving a Chevy Silverado and it didnt have all these bells and whistles. I also got a good deal on my trade in. All in all it was a great experience!

Wow this was an excellent experience. Our salesperson Steven took care of everything and we now enjoy a new 2021 Honda Odyssey which is a fabulous vehicle. Paul handles all the financial paperwork and he does it in such a charming way that you never feel nervous about the transaction and they really bend over backwards to make everything flow to accommodate your needs. Excellent experience from start to finish. I had an idea of what I was looking for when I went there. My family has purchased/leased cars from Friendly in the past. I specifically asked for Justin when we went inside. He is great! Once I decided on a car, he explained all of the payment options clearly and gave me the bottom line price which included all of the applicable fees and taxes. He answered all of my questions about the car. There was absolutely no pressure, which is not always the case at other dealerships. Justin even came in on his day off when we were picking up the car. I also want to say that Paul, the Business Manager, was great as well. There was alot to go over in paperwork and he made it really easy and painless. Friendly Honda truly deserves its name!

*UPDATE: After posting this review, Management contacted me right away the following morning. I was asked to bring my car back so they can further investigate the noise coming from the front brakes. I road tested the car with one of their top mechanics, who heard the noise as well and never once said this was normal. They took apart my front brakes, which allowed them to be checked and cleaned. I was even offered a loaner! Whatever they did worked! The noise is gone and the brakes feel great. I must say the Service Manager & my advisor did take this very seriously, they were very understanding and assured me that they will get to the bottom of it. My advisor even called me 2 days later to check on the car and to see if the noise returned, which it did not. Thank you so much for making this right. I truly appreciate it!Let me start off by saying, I never had a problem with Friendly Honda. They were always friendly until I had an issue with my 2020 Honda HRV. I went in for service and reported an issue I had with a chirping noise on my front driver side tire. This sound usually occurred when pressing the brake to slow down. I do not hear this sound when stopping or firmly pressing the brake. When I spoke to the service advisor I was told that the technician would thoroughly check the issue. In addition to that, the advisor did state that Honda would be performing service due to a recall on the transmission software but that the noise I am hearing could be the result of a faulty belt and if that were the case they would replace the transmission. After waiting all day I called to inquire and was told to pick up the car late in the afternoon. Upon arrival, I was informed that my brake pads were in great condition (green indicator on sheet) and the issue is probably dust, and that the sound is perfectly normal. Four days later, the sound has worsened to occur more frequently such as while driving and now there is a mild grinding sound when stopping. How is this normal? How am I suppose to feel safe? Would you be okay if someone told you this was normal and you had your children in the car? To make matters worse, the employee who checked me out wasnt the service advisor who checked me in and got very defensive when I voiced my concern regarding his this is normal comment. I am extremely disappointed and will be following up with corporate. I wonder if my warranty was expired, would they have found the problem then??

I had a fabulous experience at Friendly Honda! My 2000 Subaru Legacy had finally bitten the dust and I was having a hard time finding a vehicle I could afford and that was safe and reliable. My younger twin son had recently purchased a Honda Civic from Friendly and suggested I try there. I’m so glad I listened to him! Everyone at Friendly was so…well…friendly! Destiny was kind enough to read the CarFax to me over the phone (it hadn’t been uploaded yet) and Doug Matthews was an excellent salesman. The folks at Friendly had my 2008 CRV looking like new when I came to pick it up. It looked so good that my other son has already made an appointment with Friendly to have his CRV detailed there in a few weeks. I’ve already recommended Friendly Honda to a few folks at work and everyone in my family has decided that we will make all of our future car purchases Friendly ones! Thanks so much, Friendly Honda!! I had Vladimir, Bruce, and Brian and they were all friendly, organized, and complete straight shooters into what you are getting. Ive been driving my Honda civic the past few days and it definitely does not disappoint. Be very carefulI was first to view a car (online and via phone) and quoted a price. I was not able to put down a deposit because of the dealership closing and them not finalizing some remaining questions in time.(This had to be online as I was told there were NO available appointments to come in and see the car.) This was still ok for me to put a deposit down via phone. Spent hours on the phone with the rep.I called as soon as dealership opened next morning to find the “market” price of the car now went up $2K.Waited another hour or so for them to get back to me to honor the quoted price so we can put down the deposit to find someone else came in the dealership and is now buying it for the new price.I was told the pricing is market value and this is their business model so even though I was in the midst of negotiating with the rep that was irrelevant and it was open for the take.Apparently the stereotypical car dealer business model is still thriving at this location where money is the only thing that matters and customer loyalty and satisfaction is not Important. Maybe it’s not surprising but certainly a disappointment.Tl;dr: they price to “market” which can change at ANY time even during negotiations and a car can be bought from under you until the ink is dry.
