Danielle responded via Facebook Messenger and was very responsive and kind. She facilitated the type of work I would need done and referred me to Cindy. Cindy explained in detail what I would need done and the approximate price. An appointment was set. Upon arrival I met with Danny who was a very good listener regarding my issues and explained what he would do to accomplish my needs and to make sure my eBike was properly adjusted and serviced. Danny also inserted Tannus Liners in my 26x4 tires. After an 8 Mile ride today I can say, all is great. Hometown Service & Professional Care. Five stars *****

In Prescott for summer break from teaching. Brought our bikes, not mountain bikes mind you, to ride around campsites and such. BUT we found that Prescott had many bike/hiking trails through amazing granite dells that we could manage on our street bikes. Well, my tires being just factory, my back tire ended up getting a flat. The guys at High Gear fixes it immediately AND made improvements so my bike could be more reliable on dirt trails. So fast, very knowledgeable, didn’t talk down to us novice ladies, and they have a cat. Thank you High Gear!!

Have been in here a few times and they are always really nice and professional. The lady who owns it is very knowledgeable. She has spent time to show me things with no sales pressure. I have been impressed every time I have been there.

OMG visited a few bike shops in Prescott and Prescott Valley. These folks were incredibly reasonable, friendly and helpful. Both Ethan and Cindy were amazing! I even met Chloe Woodruff there, she just qualified for the Olympics in Mountain Biking - Great overall experience would highly recommend!

While visiting Prescott my sons balance bike picked up a flat and I was without any of my tools. I had seen this shop on the way into town the other night so we went by. The staff was extremely friendly and very helpful and even gave my son some fruit snacks while we waited on service. They have a good selection of all styles of bikes considering the size of the shop is pretty small. I highly recomend Hi Gear!

This bike shop and the mechanics are super knowledgeable, friendly and helpful with out being pushy sales people. Over the last 15 years weve bought bikes (also equipment and gear) here, had them serviced and tuned up many times and weve always been really happy with the results. We highly recommend High Gear and will definitely keep coming back!

I arrived in Prescott to MTB only to realize my day would be paused until my back brakes would release. The staff at High Gear were great. The took me right in, tweaked the calibers, made sure I was able to ride and sent me on my way in under 10 minutes. Heard great things about owners and staff. Gave them a try. I understand why people say such great things. They spent a lot of time with me, and I was especially impressed with the fact they didnt try to get me to buy a more expensive bike than I needed. No overselling.They cared more that I bought the best bike for ME. Thats unheard of anymore. Cindy took extra care that I really felt comfortable with the bike. I had to go back for a flat and got the same service and experience. Again, they gave me their time like I was their only customer. It stuck out to me, because they were actually busy. For them it doesnt end after your purchase. I dont do reviews, but when someone remembers you after one purchase, they deserve MY time. Well Done!!

I ride several 2 wheel racing recumbents, nationally and internationally. Ive brought my bikes to High Gear Bike Shop for complex and detailed work on my custom made bikes since 2003. I would bring my bikes to no other shop. The work is exceptional. They have striven to accommodate me in numerous ways. They have assisted me in packing and shipping my bikes domestically and overseas. What more can one ask for?!

High Gear is family owned and operated for over 30 years. The staff is courteous, knowledgeable, friendly and very patient. My wife and I recently purchased mountain bikes at High Gear. I estimate that we consumed about 5 hours of their time asking questions, taking test rides, and eventually making the purchase. It was clear to us that we could rely upon the people at High Gear to be there should we ever need any support. This is a far better situation than if we had purchased the same bikes from a nomadic 20 year old clerk at some large sporting goods store. Who knows how long the clerk will be there and who really knows to what extent the sporting goods store will stand behind the product they sell. All in all we bought a great product, at a great price, from honest and reliable people.

Ive brought in three of my bikes for service. The shop did a great job either with adjustments or addition of new gearing. Would recommend High Gear to locals or visitors.

This shop did not do a great job on my bike. My bike is an older Schwinn road bike, and Ive had it tuned up by a couple of places in Tucson very well. I expected High Gear to do a good job as well based off of the reviews Id seen and their popularity in Prescott. I chose the American Flyers tune up as that included everything I needed them to do. That being said, here is a list of things they did not tune up correctly on my bike:1. Both (yes, not one) of my brake calipers were not centered correctly. They were rubbing against both tires, which created a lot of resistance.2. They did not adjust my derailleur correctly. Ive had a lot of trouble getting it into a higher gear (funny, I know). I took a look at it, and it looks like my derailleur angle is not set properly. This is something that I cant fix myself, so Im going to have to pay to have another shop fix it for me.3. They also bent both of my brake calipers. That is difficult to do. My guess is that someone was a little bit too rough with them.4. They didnt grease my gears enough. Fortunately, I had some grease on hand that I applied myself.In summary, dont ask this bike shop to tune up your bike. I was honestly surprised that they messed this many things up. Additionally, they messed up a couple of things on my little brothers bike as well (tuned up last year). They didnt tighten his front brake enough, which can be really dangerous if a car pulls out in front of you. Stay away from this shop.

Friendly employees, and the bike mechanics are awesome. Theyve always treated me well and do a good job keeping my bike in excellent condition.

Steve and Cindy are always willing to help me with repairs, even if I just need a bolt for loose SPD cleat or major overhaul. Prices are very reasonable and they have more parts in stock than any other shop in the area.

Was in there this morning not knowing there was a race today thank you guys they had my exact tire in stock it is a odd wide tire last time i ordered tires online I had to pay 3 times what I payed there.. knowledgable quick affordable

Cindy seems to be the local expert when it comes to bike fit. I discussed the many issues I was having on my new bike and she thoroughly took the time to make sure I was setup properly. She spent a lot of time answering my questions, making necessary adjustments and steering me in the right direction, so to speak!

Broke a spoke in Tucson be for coming to Prescott the next day. Got to High Gear about 2pm on a Saturday, and they replaced it before they closed. Got a ride in on Sunday. Awesome!

Took my mountain bike for a tuneup these people did a awesome job a special thanks to Billy the bike technician that worked on my bike. Also got some great front and rear lights. If you need service or parts highly recommended. 2nd review April 22 202 just left High Gear Bike Shop was going to get some new tire and tubes for my Trek road bike but as soon as I walked thru the rear entrance Billy started screaming at me to get out and use the front door totality necessary Ive always used the rear entrance till now. Its ok Ill spend my money else at another bike shop.May 26, 2030 updateTook my mountain bike out rode over one mile chain kept falling off disappointing after all the hundreds of dollars they charged for full tune upAfter closer inspection Billy used nothing but cheap parts wrong size tire ! Cheap cassette! Never replaced the front bearings or the front crank set. Sloppy work !!!

Amazingly helpful! As I was passing thru Prescott an old lady smashed the rear wheel of my 29er and I was really upset. The hell with the jeep that was sideswiped. I took the bike in at 3 pm on a friday and they had me fixed up in 30 minutes with a new rim that was the same brand as the bike. I will go back to this place just to say hi next time Im in Prescott! Highly recommend

Brought a bike in for a minor service issue and came out with a broken bike. Wouldnt recommend this shop at all as apparently their staff arent as trained as they should be for basic bike repairs. I wouldnt take a cheap bike to them let alone my high end bikes.
