Great if you live close by and need to grab something quickly.
Best deal for food in Provo. Full meal for $6 with a dessert. Also convenient for groceries in a pinch. Great weekly deals and doughnuts!
Fantastic place to grab some odds and ends. The prices are a little steep. But its in a convenient location and all the employees are very kind.
Perfect corner grocery for what it is, in case you need some quick groceries or snacks. Workers are always helpful. Cant find everything you could ever need like a larger store but it has enough. Pretty good deals as well.
This place is probably one of the too-few places outside of Carolina to carry Cheerwine. May this house always stand resolute and firm despite the giant earthquake that were all waiting for thats gonna put utah in the toilet. All we really need to remain standing after the Big One is the SLC Temple and South End Market, for uninterrupted divine access to Jesus+™ and Cheerwine.
Loved it!!! Everything you need just a short walk away! And they accept EBT/Food stamps! Cant wait to try to the deli now that its open. Great customer service! Nice and non-judgemental 💜
South End Market is such a great store that is close to BYU campus! I end up going there several times a week and always have a good experience! When you go in make sure to sign up for their rewards program/emails because they have daily deals that include their new Deli food which is so good!
Super convenient for college students. Prices are about 5% higher on average than a larger chain grocery store
Love this place! The deli has lots of options and I especially love the potato salad. I love how close it is to campus and its always clean inside. Friendly staff too!
An excellent place to grab breakfast, lunch, dinner, groceries, snacks, etc. They are always super friendly and the selection of fresh produce and groceries is great. They have super lunch combos for deli sandwiches or burgers that include all the fixins, sides, a drink, and ice cream!
Jake and the crew at South End Market are awesome. Great personal service and the new deli is great. The burgers, sandwiches, and ice cream are really good, and the rewards program is super generous!
It is a convenience store so some things are a tad pricier, but the rewards program is awesome! It’s such a fun neighborhood market. I lived nearby and didn’t have a car, so whenever I needed anything South End was a lifesaver!
They just opened the new deli and their sandwiches are literally the BOMB and are such a cheap price- I would highly highly recommend them! I definitely wouldnt do the bulk of my grocery shopping here as it is a bit pricey, but the staff is super nice and fun and overall it is just a super cute place!
They just opened a deli and its sandwiches are great! Super convenient for a quick bite or picking up essentials.
The produce is the best deal here. The strawberries and bread get fungus on them within a few days. So that is a bummer.
TLDR: They care about students = I care about themI’ve been getting sodas and some random groceries when I need it for about 2 years from here now. Love this place.... personally I like it more than the BYU creamery when directly compared. The owner is a super nice guy and so are all the employees! The new deli is great. I just got a sandwich and it was great! The rewards program is also great for students and everybody who shops there. Also fat tip every 10th soda is free if you use the punch card. I totally support south end market and don’t know where I would go for soda and odds and ends without going to a full size grocery store. It’s location is so convenient.... anyways love this place.
So convenient.
Their official information says that theyre open until 11am weekdays, 12am weekends, but dont count on it; Ive tried to get in the store before 11pm several times on standard weekdays and the door is mysteriously already locked, the lights half-off, and the tills already counted. Ive even had an employee look me dead in the face and wave me off! (It was 11:10pm on a Friday. I guess he couldnt be bothered with a customer since he was having such a great time with the other store employee.)The staff are otherwise usually friendly and helpful, but the closing crew either needs some restructuring or some serious retraining--posted times are to notify customers as to when they are allowed into the store. Anyone thats ever worked retail knows that.
It is a convince store and the prices are likewise. However in some cases it is really helpful since there is no other store east of BYU. They have a pretty awesome rewards program earning 3% cash back on every purchase. If you sign up for their emails they sometimes have pretty awesome daily deals. For example the other day we got a box of icecream bars for only $0.50. They have a new deli which is nice if you need a quick meal. The combos even come with a scoop of ice cream.
Its a great place, decent prices. Definitely sign up for the rewards program
Great little store
Very good selection, great prices, fast service and amazing produce
Pleasant, helpful employees. They have a surprising number of convenient household goods. The grocery selection is limited (understandably, given the small space they have to work with) and the prices are a little bit higher than some grocery stores. However, its conveniently located for students and is a great place for a quick trip.
Nice, convenient market for students, now with a deli
Good selection, not too busy, quick service
Nice. Has all the first need items
I love this place. Kindest employees. Great atmosphere. & I bring in my 32 oz cup daily for 75 cent soda refills. They also frequently have sales on tilamook ice cream which is rad. It’s the best! Sometimes prices for certain items are a little more than I’d like but all in all it’s the greatest.
A wonderful little mom and pop type market to get the ascension however its not a place to get perscription or deli items. Parking is very limited the best times to come are in the early morning or evening to avoid the student rush
This is a wonderful convenience store which is a great option for groceries and snacks close to campus. It is located just south of the uvx stop for the area so I usually grab juice and a muffin (for only 2$!) before I head to the bus. They have fountain drinks, fresh doughnuts, muffins, and fruit. Some of the prices are slightly higher than Walmart or smiths as expected in a smaller store, but their deals are usually comparable to larger chains. The employees are very helpful and always welcoming. Join their rewards program to get a percentage of your purchase back!
Quick little place to run in and grab some things; easy to locate what youre looking for, friendly workers
The basics. Not much variety, but if you need it quick and convenient, this is your store for sure!
This is a great little store. They have most of what you need and your in and out really fast. The best thing though are the people that work here. They are so kind and caring
Great store! Need a bunch of items for a ward campout really quick and they had everything I needed to feed 100 people. Really nice owner and fair prices. As Arnold says Ill be back.
Love the place! Usually has all the stuff I need!
Its really close to campus and is just down the street from a lot of off-campus student housing. The prices are higher than what you would find in a larger grocery store and sales seem to only bring down the price to standard prices. Selection is pretty limited. But its decently clean and well-maintained and within walking distance of my apartment.
The slightly higher prices are made up for by the sheer convenience and speed. It is in a perfect location with much lower prices when compared to places like the creamery on ninth (though smiths is still probably cheaper).
Its a fine little corner market. The prices are pretty competitive. Which is wonderful for the surrounding college populous. Selection isnt bad for its size either.
Very close to the bus station. The only reason I shop there our because it its close. Has quality goods with small portions in mind -- good for us college students. Staff is very friendly
Good place! Convenient and with a good selection. Not always the beeesst prices but what do you expect from a little corner store?
Decent selection in a very convenient location. Its not very big, but its definitely still reliable; I dont shop anywhere else.
Obviously guys, its right on campus so its going to cost a few more cents. But the customer service is great and their selection is surprising. They also give out free bagels and cream cheese on the last Friday morning of the month!
For a small corner market, prices for many things are quite reasonable. They have really good deals on deli food such as sandwiches. Their staff is friendly as well. Occasionally youll have to find the cashier to check you out since they usually have only one employee manning the register and stocking the store.
South End Market has gone through a lot of changes during my four and a half years living by it, and Im sure it will go through many more. Its kind of a hybrid between a grocery store and a gas station convenience store. Its not the nicest or the cheapest, but it has most basics you need. They have even had a good spice selection--but like I said, this store goes through a lot of changes.
Been going 6ish yrs. Milk often spoils fast. Most Ive gotten become undrinkable within a few days before expiration. Ive sometimes even tasted a bit of the sourness the day of purchase (One time a half gallon was completely sour and undrinkable day of purchase and had to be dumped out that same day). Milk from chain groceries can last perfectly even 1-2 weeks after expiration. Milk here sometimes seems like its started to go bad as soon as it hit the shelves.Dumping out yet another non-expired gallon. Gotta be the 4th or 5th one. I hope I’ve officially learned my lesson now.Typically friendly staff
Awesome little market! So much closer than the grocery store if you live east of BYU, and they carry a lot of stuff! I was out of coconut milk for my curry, and sure enough they carry it! So cool
Like others have said, its a bit more expensive than somewhere like Walmart. However, its convenience cannot be understated.I am currently without a car, and as a result I can only go grocery shopping when a friend with a car is also going. This store is directly on the way to my apartment from campus, and has most of what I generally need. The staff were very friendly and the store is well kept. Overall, its a good place to shop if you need a few things or are unable to make it to a grocery store for whatever reason.
Good place to grab small grocery items or small lunch items. Its a little more on the expensive side.
Convenient but fairly pricey. Its great for college kids living south of campus who dont have cars, and even has a decent selection of items.
Close market right by campus. Great little grocery store.
Somewhere between a 7-11 and a regular grocery store, in terms of price and product selection. It used to be more expensive a few years ago but its changed quite a bit since then. The store is always very clean and neat in appearance. Great option nowadays for college students living in walking distance.
A little pricier than Id like, but its extremely convenient, and they have a huge selection of old fashioned sodas. 👍
Nice location to get some groceries or other personal items if you are living nearby. Not a huge selection but they have what you need
As a college student with a car I would recommend this market for anything but its ice cream. As the prices are sky high. However Im slightly obsessed with ice cream hence Im recommending this place anyways
Great for quickly getting things you need, friendly employees and good selection.
It has an okay selection, better than youd expect for a store of its size. The prices are higher, of course, but the placement makes it dead convenient.
I really like this place. Locally owned. Convenient. A wee more expensive but its worth it for the sense of community
Great for a little market. It may not have everything you need, but thats to be expected. Its also a little more expensive than grocery stores, but they have cheap fountain sodas and food to go!
Prices are higher than if you were to go to Walmart or places like that, but overall the store was clean and had a very good selection. It is also conveniently located for college students who may not have access to a car or local grocery store.
I go there all the time, and they have what I need within walking distance! Good quality.
Nice little corner store, with a good selection of food for cheaper than convenience store prices. They have all the basic groceries Ive ever needed
Super convenient.
Its a convenience store so stuff is a bit pricy but they have a great selection for being a corner store and often have sales. The staff is always friendly.
Stuff here isnt the cheapest, but this place is pretty convenient for people living close to campus. I usually buy bread, milk and eggs here. Sometimes service is slow because not many people work here, but at least theyre friendly.
Most everything you need. Close to campus, not too overpriced for a small market. Has Redbox, ATM, Subway, and frozen yogurt shop, soda fountain, fruits and veggies, all inside the same building. Clean store, friendly cashiers. Watch out for items past sell by date though.
They have almost everything you need here! Its a little priecier than Smiths with some items but I love the convenience!
Good for emergencies, and their $10 off coupon from the BYU student planner is awesome.
Prepare to empty your entire wallet for a box of granola bars and two rolls of toilet paper
WHY did you get rid of Spoon it up???? That was THE BEST froyo place in Provo!!
Loved the staff and although the prices are high the convenience is worth it.
This is the only small grocery store close to BYU campus besides the Creamery on 9th and much more convenient for the sizeable student population that lives south of campus. The selection is comparable to the Creamery (fairly limited), and there isnt much parking. There is a separate frozen yogurt place attached to one side of the store (between this store and J-Dawgs) which is pretty good. Prices seem pretty fair, but probably a little higher than some of the bigger stores around Provo. I personally think that their produce is usually more fresh than what is offered at the Creamery.
They sell expired food—I didnt think to check in-store, but when I got home some of the things I bought were expired by over two months.
Their pineapple juice has been expired for months. I told them about it and they acted like they were gonna fix it. But they didnt.
Convenient good service
Good selection for a small store. Always busy.
Location location location! Super convenient!
Great convenience store without the gouging.
Great variety and prices
No posted hours and these arent correct. Expensive.
Right by campus, and has your caffeine to help with those long nights of study! Dr. Pepper :D
Prices seem higher than the creamery which is less than half a mile away.
Actually surprisingly good deals
They have a lot of what people need at the last minute, but that can be pricey.
Convenience that you pay for.
They are expensive but I love them
They are great
Awesome store!
A little pricey.
Masks are required😤😤😤😤
Convenient location but very expensive
Convenient
When do they open?
