Beautiful hotel in small down of Pulaski. Breakfast provided could be better with hot offering such as eggs. Dinner and sandwiches were delicious. Also cleaning emergency black water pipes in room needs to be addressed. Be prepared for the train at 4am.
Tall beds. Pleasant views. Only one small complaint - no cookware in the kitchen. We stayed only one night but worth noting for anyone planning a longer stay. I would stay here again in a heartbeat.
I cant say enough good about this place. Stayed 4 nights. Staff was awesome. Really good breakfasts. Clean and comfortable...everywhere. A1
Excellent always there is no nicer place around here.
Beautiful hotel, very clean and great attention by staff.
Our visit was excellent! The food and service were outstanding! Will return again!
Had lunch h at Als on 1st. Good food.
The most beautifully restored and classy hotel in the area. The staff and amenities are awesome! From keurig in the room to the clean well appointed bath and work and sleep areas, leaves me feeling like I dont want to leave. Old wooden timbers, exposed ceilings and brick finished rooms from former grocery distribution are still in place and give the inn a warm feeling.
Awesome place, friendly service
The room itself was lovely. Very spacious and clean. However, thats where the good stops. First, the hot water in the shower took over five minutes to get hot. I can forgive this since its a historic location, but it would have been nice to be informed before I accepted my fate and took half of my shower cold. Second, the internet had insane restrictions on what websites you could access. Want to read a graphic novel online? Too bad, the entire website is blocked for- wait for it... nudity. Even if the content you specifically want to see is perfectly clean and family friendly, the entire website is blocked (Although, how strange is it for a hotel to block content for nudity? Im an adult. Who cares?). Even certain videos on YouTube are blocked, and it wont tell you why. Third, the hotel is literally across the street from a railway crossing, and a train came by roughly every two hours from the time we arrived until about 8 am. That means we woke up to a very loud train horn at 10 pm, 12 am, 2 am, 5 am, and 7 am. Maybe the problem was that our room was facing the street, but it was the worst night of sleep Ive ever gotten at a hotel. If we had been staying for more than a night, I would have asked to be moved to the other side of the building. Honestly, I wish I had done more research on hotels in the area, because the stay was absolutely not worth the 160 dollars I paid for it.
They would get a 5 if the restaurant and bar didnt close so early. Really nice though.
Great Hygiene, Helpful Staff
Beautiful revitalization of historical structure. Could see young stocked trout feeding in the current of Peak Creek from my 3rd floor room. Not far from numerous activities. We went tubing in Radford on the New River. Was a peaceful last minute getaway at a very clean and incredibly friendly Jackson Inn. I hope we can plan another stay
Very friendly staff and managers. Helpful with any and all questions. We stayed here for a friends wedding and the hotel was essentially wedding guests. Sadly didn’t have a chance to try the food in the restaurants downstairs but it sure did smell great! The only thing to be weary of is the soundproofing isn’t really there so you will hear others and they will hear you. Really a beautiful rustic spot to rest though!
Our room was outstanding! The customer service was also outstanding! They both get 5 stars. The issue is, the noise from the dining room. The sliding of tables and chairs, the phone on the bar that rang every few minutes or someone using it and dialing, they had it on speaker. It would be nice to be mindful at 7am, there may be guests sleeping. Knowing how thin the floors are, use the receiver when dialing out. The noise issue... I give that not even 1 star. You leave there exhausted.
Wonderful staff and great accommodations. Love this place!!
I had the pleasure of staying at this hotel a few days ago. I was blown away when I entered the building! I do a lot of traveling and it reminded me of some of the boutique hotels I had stay at in Europe. The food at Als On First was very good. The Pine-Orange Margarita was delicious! But what truly makes this place stand out is the people that work there! You can tell they enjoy their jobs and take great pride in making your guest experience memorable. I experienced this the moment I checked in with Robert at the front desk. He is truly a gem! I will definitely be back!
Nice old building with nice rooms; however the continental breakfast is only so so and the deal breaker is the hotel is located several hundred foot from a live rail road track and crossing. the trains come about every hour all night long blowing there whistle and this happens every night . There is no way to get any sleep. Our whole business group haD to check out and move to another hotel. We would never stay again. If you can’t get any sleep, it defeats the whole purpose of the hotel.
Awesome nights sleep! Lovely area. I felt very welcome!
We stayed here while on our way to TN. The inn is so incredibly charming! We loved it from the moment we walked through the front door. The room was absolutely gorgeous and so much nicer than we expected! The staff was incredibly friendly and welcoming. If we find ourselves needing a place to stay around this area we will be staying here again. I highly recommend it!
The Jackson Park Inn was absolutely an amazing experience. Traveling after 6 hours from Newport News to this location, the staff kindly opened the door and welcomed us in. They were extremely friendly and sorted out a minor problem about booking, but made it all work out. The room is absolutely stunning with a more rustic appeal while still staying modern and chic. The room was completely spotless, clean, and ready for our arrival with no issues. The staff did everything they could to accommodate our stay and did it with a smile every time, they are kind hearted and sincere. 10/10 would recommend this place!
Very clean. Staff was friendly. Restaurant food was good. Bar was nice. Atmosphere and decor was unique and nicely done. Beds comfortable, big rooms and large bathrooms. Prices were very reasonable and a much nicer stay than a big chain. Glad we found it and would definitely recommend it!
Jackson Park Inn is housed in an old Factory in Pulaski. The interior is beautifully restored with original brick, flooring, and windows. The light fixtures are beautiful and the decor is quaint and Charming. The high ceilings with original beams are very attractive. We were given a hotel room directly above the bar / Lounge area. The lack of insulation between the floors quickly became evident as the sounds of the restaurant and bar build our hotel room. When we mentioned the noise level oh, we were told that the bar and restaurant would close at 10 so the noise should diminish. The noise was so loud that we found it impossible to sleep and eventually ask for another room. We were moved one floor higher where the noise from the restaurant was greatly diminished. However, build our hotel room. When we mentioned the noise level, we were told that the bar and restaurant would close at 10 so the noise should diminish. But noise was so loud that we found it impossible to sleep and eventually asked for another room. We were moved one floor higher where the noise from the restaurant was greatly diminished. However, The hotel is situated next to railroad tracks and a train went by the hotel at least once per hour from 10 p.m. to 9 a.m. The train conductors often blew the horn for as long as 2 minutes while passing the hotel. Although the bed was comfortable, we found it impossible to sleep. It also needs to be mentioned that there were holes in the floorboards in which I could see to the floor below. My husband also stated that he stayed in one hotel room at the Jackson Park in where there was a hole in the brick that went through to the outside. The single pane windows are beautiful but rattle in the wind and let in the cold air. I would like to see this business succeed, but they need to do something about insulation and reducing the noise. Additionally, the elevator was out of service. It would be great if they could get that amenity operational.
What a great find! Beautifully appointed hotel with a great vibe of old and new in a former grocery warehouse. A place to truly unwind, relax, and disconnect from the world. The staff was welcoming and friendly. The rooms were spacious, super clean, and had little touches making the room feel more like one in a luxury hotel.
Very nice hotel. Rooms are large and comfortable. Design is contemporary but pulls in elements of the older structure (beams, brick, etc.). Breakfast was nice. Only drawback is that the walls are thin and you can hear everything going on around you which included 8 trains passing through (tracks are across the street) during the night that we stayed.
My three day stay was pleasant. Rooms are a bit confined but extra clean. Lighting was a little dim but manageable. Staff was very nice. I would definitely stay here again.
Super Unique Comfy City Style, love the brick wall... and such Comfy beds, Friendly helpful staff and simple but fulfilling breakfast, the only reason I didnt give it 5 stars I heard the neighbors and train (although its an overall quiet calm place but lack of sound filtering def reduces it a star) none the less, I would stay again
Wonderful rooms and very pleasant staff. Will definitely be back! Would recommend this place to everyone!
I didnt stay here. But attended a meeting. The food and the atmosphere were great. Would highly recommend. Very friendly staff and awesome building.
Had a great lunchtime visit with a large group for work. As usual the food was excellent! Pimento cheese dip and lobster bisque are some of the best I have ever had. The atmosphere was relaxed but still had an upscale vibe. Hard to believe we were in the middle of downtown Pulaski.
Beautiful renovated building. Excellent bar. Great restaurant. Only one problem on my single night stay on the second floor. I was awoken at midnight by the person in the room above me having a very long FaceTime conversation. Apparently no sound insulation. Yes I had to listen to the whole thing. Bad for me as I couldnt sleep. Bad for the guy upstairs as his private conversation wasnt so private. When I checked out and mentioned this to the clerk she acted as if shed heard this complaint before.
Hosted a meeting of our real estate agents from nearby states. The staff was friendly, very accommodating to changes, and the facility (rooms, dining, meeting space) were a hit with our agents and staff. Meals were great too! Will definitely put this on our list of places wed return. G
Very cool place and totally worth checking out. Restaurant/bar was closed due to my arrival time, but it looked neat and stylish and probably delicious. My specific room smelled a tad funky, but the old warehouse remnants were a great decor touch. Love historic preservation and adaptive reuse like this.
This is a beautifully repurposed property that looks amazingly modern while holding on to all the old charm of the original building. The bar and restaurant close a little early, but other than that it was an amazing place to stay. I would definitely come back.
Very nice place to stay if your looking don’t look any farther.
Fantastic experience - truly a diamond in the rough. Exceptional service, beautiful, clean, well-appointed. Fabulous food and drinks, to boot! Will definitely visit again.
What a lovely place to stay . Excellent service and the personnel were great. Highly recommend this establishment.
There is no other Hotel within 50 miles that can come close to the quality of room or service. This is a beautiful hotel. Modern and comfortable. Good continental breakfast. The in house resturaunt is 5 star.
Amazing place! Food is just wonderful! The entire place is beautiful and staff is great! We had our company Christmas party here and it was a great experience!
For the area it is a great spot and the reason for 4 stars. Comparing the food and restaurant to anything in a larger city would be unfair and bring it down to 3 stars, maybe 2.5 stars.I ate Sunday brunch buffet here and the food is very heavy southern - to be expected. Again, good considering the area. For brunch they serve breakfast and lunch foods with an omelet and dessert bar. Dont recall if a drink is included, but they have a full bar so bloodies and mimosas are an option. There were a few disappointments - the benedict was very underwhelming - cold and served on store bought English muffins. And the OBrien potatoes were cold and bland. Acceptable for an area that doesnt have anything better to offer (see suggestion on a much better place for brunch below). The staff is courteous and friendly from the moment you open the door. The exterior is great, its a rehabilitation of an old manufacturing facility. The interior has been styled appropriately and they have projectors that would make it a great meeting venue. My suggestion to the chef and kitchen staff is to try new takes on the southern dishes you serve. Keep the food hot and fresh. Offer up nontraditional foods and see how the townies respond - you might be surprised.I have family in the area so I may go back, but thats the only reason I would. Its just not up to my standard for southern done well - didnt leave a lasting impression. If they take my suggestion above, I will return and I think a lot more people would. In closing, great place for Pulaski. I recommend it for those familiar with the area.If great southern food and a lot of variety with a large smattering of southern flair is what you are after - I suggest the Draper Mercantile its an easy 5 stars for the area.
Loved this place, great atmosphere, beautiful rooms. Bed was super comfortable. Definitely a recommended place to stay. (and the staff was SUPER friendly and helpful)
My wife and I had a late lunch at Als on First, wonderful service from Hope and the rest of the staff. The food was out fast, and was fresh. Great place for lunch or dinner
This is my 2nd time eating here, and the food was really good. I had a waitress whose name was Christina on both occasions who gave excellent service. I would recommend asking for her.
ALs on First, a great lunch experience! An Italian sandwich with a wedge salad dressed in a creamy dill ranch with a drizzle of balsamic! Enjoyed the atmosphere and my waiter was perfect!
Second time we have stayed here. Very nice rooms, reasonably priced. The restaurant in the hotel (Als on First) is also excellent. And the coffee in the morning is great!
Attended work Christmas party. Service was incredible. Food was phenomenal. The atmosphere is gorgeous. Management was super friendly. This place is a hidden gem.
Fantastic hotel just dont plan on sleeping in the train goes by before 5 am. Its so close it will shake you out of bed.
This is my preferred hotel when in the Pulaski area. The rooms are nice and and the common areas are even better. This is a great place to stay.
Quaint little place. I love the decor and vibe. Great food great bar great service.
Love this hotel. Its a rustic oasis. Well appointed and the staff are just lovely
Great atmosphere. Excellent service. The buffet offered breakfast food in addition to lunch/dinner choices. Enjoyed chatting with Joe Toscano, a manager, about restaurants in Richmond among other topics.
I stayed here for a night and absolutely love this hotel! The room was clean, fair priced, the decor was beautiful, there is a bar and restaurant on the main level, and the staff was nice and professional. If I ever go back to Pulaski this is where Ill stay!
Nice decor and spacious rooms. Hard to believe that a chic, boutique hotel like this is in Pulaski. My only critique is the occasional train which woke me up from my sleep.
A nice place to eat and stay. Rooms were clean and unique in that this is a repurposed commercial building with original wood beams and exposed brick in the rooms. I would request a room above the second floor due to the restaurant being right below you and it can get quite noisey up until 10pm in my case. I cant quite put my finger on it, but it seems like this hotel is centered around the restaurant. The front desk was polite and efficient. Something is missing on the hotel side of the operation. I did see an employee giving a tour of the common rooms etc. It sort of felt like the hotel was just there to subsidize the restaurant. I would recommend staying here. Clean, unique and comfortable rooms and nice bathrooms. Convenient with the restaurant downstairs and the lounge.
Love the hotel. Food was great. Bring ear plugs. A couple times a night the train blasts its horn.
Very nice room. Great restaurant.
Great place!! Wonderful Staff, beautiful facility, very nice rooms!!
I travel for our company as a trainer. Last week, I was planning to stay at our usual Hilton corporate account. However, my client said that I just had to the local establishment that she is so fond of - JPI.I was more than pleased with my overall experience! I stayed 3 nights and encountered several of your lovely staff;A young lady who answered the phone when I called to tell you that your website reservation date field was broken and helped me match my Hilton corp price. Great!Vicki at the desk welcomed me, opened the doors, and was fabulously personable, looked me in the eyes, very friendly.Vicki and Cheryl teamed up with Missy in housekeeping to move me to a room least affected by the trains in the night. They personally moved my belongings while I was on a 14 hour work day so that I could come in late and fall into bed in a quieter room. MUCH appreciated!Teghan in the bar was especially lovely to me and remembered my name and which wine I liked each night. The team effort, the focus on the client experience, and of course the gorgeous building itself, all contributed to a surprisingly enjoyable work trip. I recommend that you make a special effort to visit the little town of Pulaski and enjoy the Jackson Park Inn! Would also make a remarkable and unique event local or romantic destination!
Their restaraunt is fantastic - particularly the corn chowder! The bar is very good too. They have a great selection including some seasonal options like the amazing Kentucky Vanilla Barrel Cream Ale! Check it out!
Nice place. Historic, yet modern rooms. Off the beaten path, but well worth the scenic drive. Definitely my nw stopover when in the area.
Very clean. Beautifully decorated. Great amenities. Only complaint was lack of choices for the continental breakfast. Employees were very friendly.
Wonderful hidden jewel! If I am ever in the area again or just passing through - I am making sure to stop here. Wonderful staff, neat repurposing of an industrial building, and I loved the community areas.
The manager of the Jackson Park Inn, Logan, is so friendly, helpful and accommodating!! Very impressed with the customer service! Thank you!!!
Awesome, quaint, friendly staff, great continental breakfast. Rooms were very comfortable and Seth was so nice and accommodating. We will definately be back.
Awesome food and service
Beautiful hotel in downtown Pulaski. Staff is really nice and hotel restaurant (Als on First) has a great menu and bar.
The food and staff are great. The interior decoration and design of an old building creates an atmosphere that is very nice for any kind of social or professional event
Old restored groccery warehouse. Rooms are first class while retaining the old buildind atmosphere.Food in Als on First is delicious and again the atmosphere of the old warehouse maintained. Recommended for one and all.
Als on First at the Jackson Park Inn, (JPI to locals) is an upscale place to meet your friends for food and/or drinks. The well trained wait staff are professional yet kind and informative.
Wed heard good things about their Sunday brunch and it most definitely lived up to the hype. It was very good with a lot to choose from. Well most certainly go back.
Stayed for 5 nights for business. First night, key card reader on my door quit working, so after going back down to the front desk 3 times they finally offered to come look at it. Batteries in the device needed replaced. After getting into my room, i called the front desk to see if the bar/lounge would be open the next evening, she assured me it would be. So after looking forward to a nice drink after a long day the next evening, i get to the hotel and there are signs taped to all the doors that said the lounge/restaurant was closed for the night due to routine maintenance...? Any good management knows that routine maintenance is done during after hours. I went up to my room and watched about a dozen people from town show up for dinner, only to be turned away by the signs on the door. My guess is, it wasnt maintenance at all, and the hotel didnt want to pay staff to open the restaurant because there were only 2 guests staying in the hotel...But a dozen people from town showed up for dinner to. So when i went up to my room after seeing the lounge was closed, my key card once again didnt work, and i had to return to the front desk 2 more times. It is by FAR the nicest facility/hotel within a 10 mile radius and they cant even keep the restaurant doors open, or the hotel full on a regular basis. Five miles up the road there are 5 different hotels that are subpar, and constantly booked up each night. Its pretty sad that someone spent millions renovating such a beautiful building and its being managed into the ground, and my first night there was only me and 1 other person...in the ENTIRE hotel. Its a shame because this hotel is the nicest thing in the town of Pulaski, and it feels lifeless as a guest there. I feel this hotel would be much more profitable and a much bigger main stay in the community, and hot spot for dinner EVERY night if the way its being managed was reviewed. This place should be BOOMING, EVERY NIGHT, lounge and restaurant should be FULL of people daily....Its sad that the Holiday Inn Express right up the road can be $50 MORE for the night and their rooms are full, and this beautiful hotel barely has its doors open with just 2 guests......Something seems amiss, and the first place i would start reviewing is management...
A beautiful hotel with a friendly staff to help you with any needs you may have. Found a wonderful gem in the town of Pulaski when I visit my family there
Absolutely gorgeous & charming boutique hotel with lots of rustic but modern features! Love it!
Wonderful, cozy boutique hotel. Staff is amazing. I love this place!
Gorgeous inn at a great price. Walls were so thin I thought people were actually in my room.
A prefect combination of older style with a modern touch. Great service and a wonderful restaurant right there for your enjoyment!
The food at Als on Main was great as always. Our server Madalyn was very attentive as well. The dining room was very nicely decorated as was the bar area. Reccomended!!
The hotel is by far one of the nicest things in the town. Modern twist on an updated location.
Stayed here in May 2017 for two nights, very nice place, it looks a lot better in person only complaint was Continental breakfast could of been better other than that is was great, if ever in the area again we will stay here for sure.
Phenomenal
Very nice. Room was quite large and very clean. I saw some of the reviews about the train but I didnt mind that at all.
This is a great place to stay. Service was excellent and the room was extremely nice and comfortable.
This place was a piece of beautiful history
It was great, good company and food, thanks for asking.
It was neat. Dude, I just want the Google play credit for taking this survey.
Absolutely gorgeous hotel just a little bit off the beaten path and well worth the money 💰We stayed in room 310 which is huge and offers a picturesque stream & village view.Fabulous restaurant and again, a freaking bargain !!!
Unique setting, great menu, good food
Great rustic hotel. Atmosphere is amazing and the price for what we got was excellent.
This place is a awesome experience. Wonderful food, beautiful Hotel and Great staff!
It was such a gorgeous place with friendly service and very clean! Absolutely loved it!
Delicious food in the lounge. The two for one burger special was great!
