Did a little research online before I arrived with no appointment. When I arrived I met the manager Bill/Tom dont remember. Explained to him I needed two front tires, already knowing in my mind the price I got on line and I was ready to haggle. No need for that first price he gave was better then online. Everything about the tire was explained and best yet they could take care of it immediately. In and out within 20 minutes, a deal better then expected and best of all no headache. Great job you will be seeing me again.

Absolute lifesavers!!! They fit me in to get a new tire after getting a flat and being stranded for over 5 hours. Called before they even opened and they answered promptly, had my size tire, fast service, and all workers really friendly. I can’t thank them enough ❤️

I send my 19-year-old son to Mavis.My son spoke to the manager Tom to tell him about the squeaking noise coming from the front tires, After looking at the car Tom told my son the car needed all 4 brake pads & rotor replace,and gave my son a $1200 quote estimate. When my son called me to tell me about the quote I told him not to get the job done there to go to another mechanic at a different location. Meanwhile Tom still charge my son $130.00 just for time that he put to look at the car.My son took the car to another local mechanic, and the mechanic said that the rotors were absolutely fine and all the car needed was brake pads a $230.00 job.I went back to Tom to tell him how could he take advantage of a 19 year old, that there was nothing wrong with the rotors and that I wanted my $130 back. Tom said no and that he does not change brake pads without changing rotors. I told him why would you change something that’s not needed to be changed. I told him that is a rip off to customers. He did not want to hear it and ended the conversation.Bad management Tom.

This place was great. I needed tires and brakes and the service was prompt and easy. I even had to come back later in the day and my car was taken right in to be finished up. The owner/manager was so nice and made sure I was taken care of. I will definitely return.

Every time I have called mavis in Ramsey they have always said to come right in . Their customer service is absolutely wonderful. The owner/manager TOM is the most nicest guy ever. They try to rip you off here. I met Tom when I went to go get my brakes done after work one day. He quoted me for over 1400 for front and rear brakes as well as a synthetic oil change. I said hold on I’m going to call someone around here to get another quote, he says “Goodluck with that” and then says “I’m going to play around with the wording on here to see if I can get it cheaper”. I called Meineke down the street and they were able to quote me at 900$ for the same job, same parts. Tom comes out when I’m on the phone and says he can do it for 1250$, Or something around that. I said no thanks this guy can do it for much less. Tom then becomes angry and asks me to come inside to look at his computer and says “there’s no way he’s beating these prices” and told me to call him when he tries to charge me more. Well, I just paid my bill for 900 for the same job and saved myself some money. Don’t waste your time there, go to meineke. Except if you need tires, meineke doesn’t have tires, go somewhere else though for sure.

I had a leak in my front left tire so I brought my car into mavis and they fixed it within 15 minutes. I left there very relieved and paid such a low price for the services I received. I highly recommend this location for any tire service needs.

Went in for a tire change and was told that $1k+ of repairs were needed. 3 weeks later, the new tire went flat and I was charged $160 for a replacement because I didn’t buy their “tire warranty.” Naturally they tried to upsell me on yet another obscure thing that needed fixing that they’d somehow missed the last time. Find yourself a local small business that doesn’t need to be bribed into standing by their work.Update: The second replacement tire only lasted another 2 weeks before going flat itself. Never again.

First I was given an appointment over the phone by Jose at 9:15 to bring the car in for rear breaks. Get to the location and talk with James who says there is no Jose that works here but I have your information. Then he says we cant work on the car until later or we might be able to take a look at it. I need a proper answer I asked him since I have work. Then he goes we might need the full day but we can get the job done.Didnt bother updating me for 3-4 hours while I was waiting and when I called for an update they go we cant do your breaks because we dont have a break mechanic to do the job. When first I came in I was told can be done by the end of the day. Wasted a full day of work for me and waited from 9-am to 1 PM for no reason, when they simply could have said.Very unprofessional behavior from people that work there and rude over the phone as well with no updates. I get my car work done at Mavis all the time but this is unacceptable.

These guys are GOOD ... they have a very professional staff, everyone is smiling, additionally, they are the friendliest group of mechanics that do go out of their way to help, noting seems to be NO cant help you. I had a serious issue with a tire, I went there without an appointment, they took me in immedietely. Gave me a very honest assesment and did the repairs immedietely, patted me on the back, and I was out in 30 min, and very happy. All of them had such a great poistive professional attitude, The place was clean.... definetly will be going there for any issues in the future.

What fantastic service at this Mavis tire location! The low pressure tire sensor went off on my wifes Chevy Traverse while she was at work. I swung by and noticed there was a screw in her rear right tire. Took it to this Mavis location they had me in and out in less than 10 minutes. Highly recommend.

My tire went flat one afternoon. I brought it in to the Ramsey location late in the day. They said they would look at it the next morning. If they could fix it they would. I got a call before noon the next morning that they had fixed the tire as promised. The service was great and the staff was friendly.

I made an appointment to get my tires changed a week ago. When I got there to drop my car off they asked me if I could come in another day instead. after saying no because I already planned to get my tires changed today the guy was very rude and told me that he could get it done today. Then he went into the back for 15 minutes and told me that the tires I needed were delivered but he couldn’t find them anywhere in the store. He told me he would have to reorder the tires and I would have to come in another day. So basically they over booked and kicked me out even though I made an appointment a week in advance.

Exceptionally professional service. My car broke down on N-17 in dunkin donut parking lot. I went over to their workshops for help. They sent mechanics right away with me in middle of busy working day. They diagnosed my car in few minutes and pulled in their workshop to fix right away. Highly recommend because of friendly staff.

I waited to be sure I’d not have any issues with the mounted tire- so far so good- so here’s the review: the good: not busy so the repair was done right away and the waiting room wasn’t crowded. I was pleased with the cost in all that was involved ( tire mount was 50 or so and that problem is solved regarding my rim ( had to get a new one). The bad: I was given the stem I had to order for a spare and it ended up it wasn’t my tire stem. There were many employees talking over one another when speaking to me. One guy asked if I had taken the stem to have the stem programmed. Buddy, it’s not that kind. It was for the spare and when a customer is talking to an employee there’s no reason to interrupt another employee. Perhaps the Mavis employee has no faith in his coworkers? When they had gotten to the repair for the spare the employee that Hasbro has dealt with 10 or so days prior INFORMED me that I ordered the wrong stem. I said it’s the stem you gave me and we looked at the numbers on the stem together. He said that he told me I had to go to the dealer. I’ve gotten many genuine parts for my car from places other than the dealer, this was a male chauvinistic cop out. I got the rim from Amazon. I would of been able to order the stem from amazon if they had given me the stem and not given one for show and tell. When I asked for my actual stem so I could then order it, they told me they threw it out! I’m done with this Mavis. Please note, this is the one next to Chili’s/ McDonalds in Ramsey. There’s more disappointing things but this review is long enough. I had to make sure that they didn’t take my old rim as I’m not having them pocket the money for scrap.

The staff is helpful and efficient. I had an appointment and they checked out my car right on time.The waiting area is small. That wouldnt normally be an issue, but at the moment it would probably be a good idea to drop off your vehicle rather than waiting around. There is a McDonalds next door.

My sister-in-law was in a bind as she got a flat tire just before closing time. They fit her in and replaced her tire. Their customer service was incredible and greatly appreciated.

After getting the run around from 4 different Mavis locations, Dennis from Ramsey location was the only person to make things right. He was professional with not only me but with the other customers who wanted work done as well. Mavis Ramsey went above and beyond the most exceptional customer service possible. My wife and I were stuck on the side of the road .3 miles away with a blown out tire and Tom came to our location, changed it for us, and made sure we were safely on our way. *note to self-tell the wife the jack belongs INSIDE the car* Will drive the extra 30 mins for any of our tire needs from here on out.

I can’t give this place enough stars!I brought my car in to have a tire replaced which desperately needed to be done. They didn’t have the exact one I needed in stock but they managed to locate one somewhere else the SAME DAY! I mean they had me on the road again in no time! Not only was it fast and friendly service, they were 100% Honest and Transparent with what needed to be done.I am sure I’m not the only female who has experienced the untrustworthy person on the other side of the counter who insists their car is “low on blinker fluid, but we can take care of that for another $299” and to be honest that’s what I was expecting to happen.But I promise you, you’re not going to get that type of experience here! Such a great shop and even better people too! I had a bunch of work I needed to get done on my truck and they advised me on what I needed done first and helped me through the entire process. They even went the extra mile(literally) to take my car over to the dealership to get a piece for my tire that was unique to the car. Overall I will definitely be coming back and giving them my business due to the professionalism and the extra care they gave throughout the entire process!

Dont ever take your care to Mavis if you value your life. Took my car to get brakes replaced and the mechanic installed improperly. After several months (i.e. less than a year) I started getting noise in the brakes. Took it back and they tell me the calipers are defective. Charged me $509 for parts and waived labor (i.e. new pads, rotors, calipers). Calipers only had 13K miles and warranty was for for 12K miles. 9 months later started hearing brake noise again. Took it to a different mechanic and both calipers were shot and never disengaged. So basically I was driving around with bad brakes that could have potentially caused an accident. Mechanic says Mavis probably didnt install right as a special tool is required for Volkswagens. Two sets of calipers in less then two years that were defective or were they installed incorrectly? I find it very hard to believe that brakes would fail this fast (i.e. under a year). Basically Im out $509 plus another $900, total $1400 as brake jobs was never done correctly. Now Mavis customer support is saying they wont do anything because I took it to another shop. Regional manager called once but never called back. Tried calling him the first time it happened and got no return call. I have all receipts and took pictures of parts for proof. Mavis customer support has the nerve to tell me there were probably a lot of miles on the recent calipers. Thats interesting because its only been 9 months and Ive been working from home the entire time and in Covid lockdown. So mileage is going to be very low. Completely incompetent. Do yourself a favor and ask around for a good local mechanic. Stay away for all Mavis centers in NJ and NY.

Lifesavers and good service when I needed a new tire

I had the same exact problem that many other reviewers are also complaining about. They put on new breaks incorrectly. When I brought my car in to have them replaced they charged me again. Once or twice I would say this is a mistake. Looking at the other reviews it seems more like their business model to not do it correctly the first time so you have to go back and be charged again.

Every time I attempt to go here I always pull in and see the managers white camaro on the alignment rack or a lift and the techs are always working on it with him doesn’t seem right to me but what do I know I will just take my business somewhere else where they focus on customer cars and not there own

Prices advertised are good but they take your order online and it seems like the local shop hasnt been told. They dont know if they have the tires you ordered when you bring your car in at the appointed time. Had a 9am appointment, car was finally done after 5.

The Mavis Ramsey location did an outstanding job not once, but TWICE with both of my cars. I had a blowout, and they helped me right away, ensured I had the right tires for my cars, and that everything was installed properly. They even proactively asked me to come back after 30 days so they could check to make sure everything was working properly. I won’t go anywhere else for tires or tire-related service!!

Called Mavis after I ran over road debris which punctured the tire of my Jeeep. They plugged the tire to fix the puncture, checked the TPMS system, checked tire pressures while I waited! I was as on my way in no time. Courteous, professional and their prices are right too. I feel like I won a trifecta.

I blew up my tire on the way to work on Saturday morning the weekend of the 4th of July. I have a Mercedes and I have tire insurance but of course at this late notice I could not get my car fixed with Mercedes, and my weekend would have been ruined..but Mavis saved me!!!

TOM DAVIES is the regional manager at this location. He is very raciest. He put me out of the store and refuse to service my car due to the color of my skin. He also do not wear a mask. The techs also advise wrong information about your vehicle so you can spend money. Tom uses the N word frequently.The response I got from Mavis was I was disrespectful????....Im a long time customer that spent so much money at Mavis. Soon as I walked in the Regional Manager was rude. So I reacted to his disrespect. I found out that the Regional Manager and the GM are friends. So of course they will defend him. I WOULD NOT USE THIS LOCATION AT ALL!!! ALL YOU CUSTOMERS THAT ARE LOOKING FOR SERVICE RECONSIDER
