Dr. Brown is very thorough with his exams and takes the time to explain the health of your eyes and what to watch out for depending on your condition. He is also very compassionate and caring, and I very much enjoyed my visit to the office. In addition, the office staff was very helpful and efficient in streamlining my appointment and even helping me fix my sunglasses. Thank you so much for taking care of my eye health! :)

I have glaucoma, and have used a disease of the eye specialist for years. When I had an eye abrasion, my specialist was on vacation, and I had no where to go. The pain was quite bad. I found Dr. Brown online and decided in desperation to try him, never having used him. His staff was great, when I explained why situation they got me in immediately. Dr. Brown was very good, he was concerned and resolved my problem. He checked back in two days to see how I was doing. I highly recommend him. He is compassionate and accomplished.

My family and I have been going to Dr. Brown for many years now. He is very knowledgeable and has a great chairside demeanor. He is very thorough with his exams and gives very good advice. I was thinking about getting lasik surgery to correct my vision so that I wouldnt have to wear glasses to see far away but he told me that due to my age, although it would correct my farsightedness I would, alternatively, have to wear glasses to see up close, which I currently dont need. My kids love going to him as well! He also has a fantastic collection of sunglasses!

I have been going to Dr Brown for over 20 years. I have a high level of trust and respect for his work. He has always answered my questions and explained what he was doing and why it was important to my eye health. On one occasion there was a delay on my glasses order, due to the lens maker error. It did not meet Dr Browns standards and had to be sent back twice. Dr. Brown changed to another vendor, rushed the order and called the previous company and made them refund $180 to me. We made two appointments a week ago. Went in to for the appointments only to find out they lost one of our appointments AND they neglected to let us know of insurance issue PRIOR to showing up and just listed us as self pay. They only called while we were ON THE WAY to the appointments and we never heard the call because we were driving. The lady behind the counter was very dismissive when I told her that it was her I had spoken with on the phone to make the appointments. Dr Brown is an amazing eye dr, but his staff is deffinately something to be desired and not in a good way. What a waste of my gas and time and not to mention the loss of money for having to miss work for this.

I have been a patient of Dr. Randall Brown, in Gold River for many years. Over the years, I have found him to be a bit impatient. His impatience has caused me to consider changing optometrists many times. However, his office is convenient.My June 2016 visit was not pleasant. I requested written prescriptions for both contacts and eyeglasses. I did receive these but with errors that were covered with black marker.I told Dr. Brown I would be purchasing my contacts and eyeglasses at Costco as their prices are so much more affordable than at Dr. Browns office. He was not pleased and told me to plan on having to return the glasses from Costco as they would be, Crooked. Never mind that the last pair of eyeglasses I purchased from Dr. Randall Brown had to be returned due to an error.I went to Costco to purchase prescription eyeglasses. I was told Costco cannot accept my Rx from Dr. Randall Brown as he had used black marker to hide an error. His office staff kindly faxed a correct Rx for the eyeglasses.At Costco, I decided upon a new pair of eyeglasses. However, VSP would not approve the purchase even though they allow prescriptions to be filled through Costco. Eventually, I was told that Dr. Randall Brown pulled the insurance authorization, thereby preventing me from filling my eyeglass prescription from anyone but him.Dr. Randall Brown, Gold River, is unprofessional and vindictive.Thank you, Dr. Randall Brown, Gold River, for asking me to submit a recommendation for you on Google.

Dr. Brown is nice and very thorough with his patients. However, the front desk person, Sherry is abrupt, unfriendly and knows little about customer service. After several years as a patient, I will not return again due to her behavior and that of the front desk staff.

Ive been going to Dr. Brown for the last six years and after my last visit, I will no longer see him again. Dr. Brown himself is friendly and knowledgeable, his staff (minus Kim who no longer works there) is terrible. I ordered two sets of glasses the exact same way I did last time (nothing changed). Few days later, Kim calls and tells me there is a $36 dollar extra charge. I ask why and she cant give me a solid answer and says shell call me back. I even offered to pay for 1/2 of the extra charge even through I got the same prescription. Few days after that, Tiffany calls and she couldnt explain the extra charge also telling me that I was responsible for the extra charge. She was rude, unprofessional and would interrupt me while I was talking. I have a 15 month old and she began to fall apart while I was on the phone which irritated Tiffany and I had to hang up. A week later Tiffany calls me and tells me that my sunglass order was canceled because I would pay for the added charge (which was their fault). She told me that my eye glasses were ready to pick up and she wanted my credit card information to refund me $126. I told her I wanted a FULL refund since they didnt honor the agreement in their office and she hung up on me. Four days later I get a call from the insurance company saying I have to pay for the eye glasses or theyll take me to small claims court. About a week after that call I receive my glasses and a check for $121. $136 refund for the glasses minus $15 for the shaping fee so I didnt even get back what they promised. I know its only $5 but this office/company doesnt honor anything they say nor trust them. At no time did I get a call from Dr. Brown asking me my side or what could be done to resolve the issue going on. Instead hell believe his rude staff and now has lost a customer for life. I will, no my wife be returning to him and I recommend that you find another eye doctor who cares about his patients and gets involved in disputes. Its your name on the wall and company you want to keep going, why dont you care and get involved?!? ***Warning, Go Elsewhere***

My family has seen the same optometrist ever since I was little. I ended up having an extremely bad experience and ventured out on my own to find a new doctor. I came across Dr. Brown and when I say I could not have been happier, that doesnt begin to cover it. I have an eye phobia so anything that relates with my eyes creep me out and set me off in some type of anxiety attack. Dr. Brown was so patient and constantly checked to make sure I was okay as to not overwhelm me. Next, when I was searching for glasses, of course you cant really see how you look since theyre not persxription, the staff was so helpful and honest about which frames looked best.Overall, a wonderful experience and I would never change doctors if I can help it.
