Super good food French themed restaurant I would recommend the omelette or the tuna sandwich and soup very friendly staff following all covid-19 protocol still dont completely safe there its right outside the trader Joes parking lot where trader Joes Subway and the Thai food place are one driveway before the gas station on Hawthorne boulevard and Pacific Palisades drive
Really delicious food! I had the tomato bisque soup and chicken panini half sandwich, and the portions were huge and very filling. I loved how the soup cane with both toasted garlic bread and fresh, soft French bread. The Yellow Vase golden milk latte was extremely large and sweet and very rich and creamy. I loved the flower design on top.Sitting outside on the sidewalk, you get gorgeous views of the Pacific Ocean. Do be careful of gusty winds that can blow the umbrella over though.
Great relaxing atmosphere. Breakfast is served all day! Though they don’t do reservations (I called and checked)- you order first and choose your own table. Ample seating at this location. I will be coming back!
We come here at least two times a month for Sunday breakfast. Its such a lovely place: cute setup, good choices of breakfast dishes and bakery/desert, view of the ocean. You can bring your dog here if you seat outside. There is not much wait here, sometimes no wait at all. Our kids love this restaurant. Our favorite choices are: avocado toast (greatest new addition to the menu), breakfast sandwich, quiche Lorraine, sweet dreams crepes, hot chocolate, coffee, peach and mint hot tea and americano. After the breakfast we go straight across the street for a breathtaking views hike along the cliff.
Great place! It was our first time, we had a little issue with my coffee but it was beautifully resolved and our first experience was good. Looking forward to going back soon!!
Cosy place. Great food, friendly staff, pretty fast service, cool location with nice view. Been here a few times for breakfast and will for sure be back.
The food was very delicious. The ambiance was very nice. I will definitely be coming back for future brunches. Highly recommend
45 minutes standing in line to order and another 30 min for the food, which turned out to be average and eggs were not poached as requested and repeated/ confirmed by the cashier. Waiter dropped the sausage on the table as he brought us the food. Reasonable prices though. Think they may have been understaffed and with some new people on the job. Dirty plates sat on our table for an hour. Maybe just the Covid job market, hard to compete with unemployment
I could not be in Cali and not go to Yellow Vase and I certainly could not go another day without my cappuccino. The Palos Verdes location was comfy, great view and the caramelized Apple French toast was delightful. It wasn’t a busy morning yet the staff never made there way over to check to see if I needed anything else or if all was well (A little pet peeve of mine when dining). The cappuccino was good and being an out of town er I have to add again .... the view!!!! Who wouldn’t love staring at palm trees while sipping on call?
The food and coffee are all great. Cookies and cupcakes are so-so. Also, the environment is relaxing and charming.
Very disappointing. Ordered online for Mothers day after recommendation from a friend. May be they do good for dine-in guests!Omelette was without cheese! The dressing selected was missing. Crepes were soggy and not fit to eat.No way to reply to order confirmation email. No one answered phone when I called back. Left a VM but never heard back. Probably they dont care at this point.Never order online with this restaurant is what I would suggest.(Order No. 444854261, 5/9/2021)Adding this part after a week of posting my review above:There has been no attempt by the restaurant still to reach me and discuss the poor review and the incomplete food!
The view is fantastic. The food is delicious. Ive been a barista for over 25 years and was served one of the best white mochas Ive ever had in my life. Service is very friendly and the waiting time very reasonable
Always good service and great tasting food. Wonderful view. Very unique menu. You will come back like we have.
Everything coming out of that kitchen looks fantastic! The bakery is spectacular! Ill take pics next time
Ordering a bit slow, but service afterwards was fast and the food was great.
Very cute, charming little place with wonderful customer service, amazing ocean views and delicious food and coffee. A must visit place.
Very delicious food and awesome customer service. These days they offer take out and delivery. Portions are not big, but enough. Avocado toast is a must to try.
Very nice place. Try their ginger, turmeric, cinnamon 😋 steamed milk. Also their quiche loraine is delicious 😋
I love The Symphony.
A nice place with warm friendly atmosphere. Wonderful menu. I like the sidewalk dining arrangement.
Omelet was Devine and my late lovely.
Cozy, love the place, the drink...dont know about the food, looks good though... havent try...maybe next time
Yellow vase doorways a great choice
Great venue, great food, excellent service. What more can you ask for
I try to eat here at least once a week everything is pretty good and a must try my go to is the Cobb salad and any coffee drink !
Great location for coffee!
Delicious breakfast wrap!
Beautiful calm atmosphere, delicious food and drink, great view!
Its ok
That salmon crepe was probably the best crepe Ive ever had outside of France. I will be stopping at this place religiously every time I head down to Rancho Palos Verdes for golf from now on.
Covid 19 outdoor seating.Food was ok, nothing special.Sandwiches was goodSalad ok, soup not good
Good food.. quaint and cute. PS.. I love yellow.
Chicken panini was delicious and service was superb
Subpar location for a yellow vase. Cappuccino with oatmilk was sweet. When we asked to switch it, lady at the counter refused to accept that I can be sweet. They finally switched it but came with regular milk. We had a muffin which was just so so. We left in a hurry. I think its just this location, the yellow vase in Redondo Beach is pretty good
Lovely spot, food and drinks not so great. Just a good local hang.
Great service delicious food and the coffee excellent
The cashier was very rude. She was very sweet as she chatted with smile face for few mins to white customers who was in front of me. But she changed her face immediately to asian customers included me even though i said ‘hi’ with smile first. And she didn’t ask about size for my drink and when i ask if she got my order of ‘tuna salad sandwich’ as the receipt showed as “tuna salad’, she got even more aggressive and gave a attitude. I am wondering how she thinks about the Starbucks’ Racism issue. I was a big fan of Yellow vase but with this experience, I won’t go there when I am paying $11 for a tuna salad sandwich. Shame on you. Horrible service ever.
French toast is a must have!!
Good spot for coffee and brunch. Reasonable prices
The food is ok. There always seems to be something off with it. Its either too bland or too salty. Their lattes are good. I almost always know Im not going to like the meal there but I like the location. Their service is good but slow.
Awesome spot, great coffee, great food, great service! Dinner and coffee with the view of the ocean, nice atmosphere inside and on the patio, very relaxing. Nice scenic drive getting there, too. My wife and I love it. Highly recommended. :)
Favorite place for a salad or sandwiches that usually include a generous salad. A staff member is usually cleaning to keep the place looking great. Great views. Outside seating. Not a huge fan of their espresso shots, could just be the beans they use. Tuna salad with gluten free bread. 🍞 Aways great avocados that you can add as an addition to anything on the menu. 🥑
To me, Yellow Vase is one star. Looking at the cafe objectively however, it is clean with a creative interior, making the ambiance fun and light. The food was average, not terrible and not super amazing. Definitely overpriced! What really ruined my experience was the customer service. I ordered a matcha latte and it was TERRIBLE. Super powdery, I couldnt make it past 4 sips. I asked them kindly if they could remake it or if I could switch drinks of equal or lesser value, I never do this but it tasted that terrible. Their response was, well if we remake your drink its going to taste the same and we do not do exchanges. They didnt even attempt to reconcile their terrible drink and like I said before, theyre overpriced so I paid $4+ to sip a horrible latte. They were unapologetic that I had a bad experience and implied that I was being too picky. I will never be going here again and I will be writing this review on google also. Im appalled by their horrible customer service.
Good food fast service.
Small portions, uncomfortable seating, terrible bread. Suggestions; make good fresh bread. Larger portions. Fry in coconut oil only. Use better eggs like Egglands best or something free range that doesnt taste like talcom powder. Yolk color is important.
Came here on a gorgeous Saturday morning for brunch and the view is just spectacular. I almost sat indoors because the decor was so adorable. I love their coffee. I had the Honey vanilla latte which was good but the Spanish latte was even better and they are served in nice mugs! The food was decent. I ordered the Red velvet french toast and it was really good but my friend had an omelette and that was really bland. I would recommend coming here but maybe stick to the sweets and coffee.
Lovely little spot for casual dining. Good food and drink options. A little on the pricey side with most dishes $12/plate and some outdoor seating by sidewalk. Unique decor and cafe experience.
Great food, great service. A little on the pricy side but worth it if youre splurging for a holiday or birthday. Palos Verdes location had ocean views with an outdoor patio to enjoy the summer weather. Less decor than the other Yellow Vase near Malaga Cove, but the same cute, dainty yellow French cafe style interior. Great breakfast and brunch options, great tea and lates. Perfect location for Valentines Day brunch, summer tea with the girls, or a peaceful meal with mom, auntie, or grandma!
Ive had their egg and chicken sausage breakfast and their vegetable quiche both are very delicious and made with quality ingredients. The view at this restaurant is outstandingly beautiful and the ambience is peaceful. Its a lovely place to spend an afternoon lunch with friends and family!
Very unfriendly service when ordering. Uncleared tables even though it wasn’t busy. When we politely asked if one of the 4 uncleared tables by the window could be cleared, we were unpleasantly told she was too busy and couldn’t we sit elsewhere, even though there was no one in line behind us. The coffee was very good and pastries were good though, so you missed out on a higher rating.
Great view. Not your regular cafe.
One of the most pleasant sittings with a cup of coffee you can do. Food good too. Gets crowded sometimes but if you come around 7:30 am its a great place to have some breakfast, coffee and read a paper or look out into the ocean.
Food was tasty. Service was great. Staff was friendly. Great view with outside seating.
Food is good but its costs enough for a little sandwich. Order at counter so limited service. Views are really good.
Good food. Fast service. Amazing view. Try the honey vanilla latte :)
We live out of state, my brother lives locally. I try to make it to Yellow Vase whenever Im visiting. Great coffee, gorgeous view. The salmon is outstanding; it will be my new usual.
My favorite place. Delicious cappuccino and the staff is very efficient and loving!
Good coffee and sanwich.
Aside from taking us like 10 minutes to figure out if we should order at the counter or seat ourselves, by the time we actually got our order, it had been almost half an hour and the food came out cold to the touch. When I complained to the staff (after having to wait at the counter another 10 minutes,) I was greeted with a blank stare and a questioning attitude. After waiting around with a 4 year old, my friend and I were ready to just get our money back and leave. They did refund our meal, but not the $3 bottle of water and $5 apple juice, and they graciously kept the tip we prepaid at the register. We wanted to try out a cute new spot for brunch and were honestly disappointed. The place was busy, so I can only assume we were the only ones having such a poor experience, but I will definitely not be back to try again.
Excellent cakes and good coffee. I love this place.
Cutest little place for meeting friends. Great food. The vegetable quiche, amazing!
Love the place to have breakfast after hiking, with an awesome view of the ocean.
OMG it was more then expected. Loved the food and the service. Oh the view was exceptional as well.
There is an indoor and outdoor seating. One of the best views in PV with affordable prices.
Yellow Vase is my location for a midday brunch. For a cafe they offer an amazing selection of breakfast, lunch or brunch and they have an adorable interior decor. Yellow Vase has both inside and outside seating. There is plenty of room inside and outside there is a bench and small tables with a water fountain near the patio style setting. My favourite dish is their salmon platter, and Ruby is one of my favorites waitresses. She is always accommodating when I want to try something different and create my own omlette, which comes with a side of small potatoes with peel, and a mixed green salad. This has also become my sister and moms favorite Sunday brunch location on the Hill. Try it and enjoy.
Had the swordfish - was fine. My cousin had the twin lobster - not so good. Too chewy - looked like it was over-cooked. Ambience is cosy.
Okay food, portions too small. Certainly nothing extraordinary, and the bread was insultingly cheap with cold hard butter. They should have fresh wheat bread with warmed whipped butter. Made me feel I was on a cheapo airline flight. Also, wish theyd cook using coconut oil. That corn oil is hard on the stomach. Blughh.
Great view and location and about the same price as starbucks. Good.
Pastries are mediocre. Nice views from patio
This is my favorite location of this small restaurant chain. If you get a table close to the window or sit outside you can enjoy the million dollar view. It reminds me of a European café. The food is fresh, healthy and thoughtfully prepared. The staff is always polite and professional. I typically have a salad. The only thing that would make it better is if they offered wine.
Great spot and good value for money
