Stopped in while on vacation from Wisconsin and I have to say I love this store! Friendly staff, great selection and epic used record prices! I just wish my back wasnt bothering me while I was in, I would have bought a lot more records. And my $3 records play good as new. Thanks for the awesome experience!

Excellent place! Found a gem of a disc golf disc when I went in this last time. Amazing staff and owners. Seriously, my go to place! One of the few must stop at places down town. They also participate in DDs buy back program. Thats a game changer for me. Stop in, you wont be disappointed.

If you go here your day will be better! Great finds at very reasonable prices! I dont know where they find them all but the selection is consistently fire!!! Bring more money than you plan to spend, then treat your damn self!

Not just records...they also have the frisbee golf discs and so much more under this one roof that you would never know without walking in and browsing. Although I had seen Black Hills Vinyls store many times while driving down St. Joe and often thought of stopping in, I hadnt done so. Mainly because I hadnt been listening to the many records I already have. However my son has become interested in this lost art and while out of town had bought a few albums. He said he wished there was a place here that sold some hed like to get and I remembering passing this place so many times and told him about it. We decided to go here together and the hours spent looking was truly enjoyable. We bought several albums and will be back for more.

This is the place you go for good music in downtown Rapid City. They hosted a bunch of the best live shows, always welcome me with open arms, always help order in the records my mom’s searching for, and never fails to have what I’m searching for in the bins. You would probably have to go 500 miles or more to even find a semi comparable selectionThey take trade ins on vinyl in other formats, sell both new and used vinyl as well as CDs cassettes and a few DVDs.You deal directly with the owners both the time and the service and knowledge is excellent. If youre into music, you should go into Black Hills vinyl and check it out.If a store this awesome doesnt deserve your support, then youll soon end up with no stores to even look at!

Not only is there something nostalgic about visiting a record store and thumbing through crates of vinyl - I am encouraged every time I visit BHV and see safety measures implemented, social justice and community care taking place, and new & old music to add to my collection. Wouldnt shop anywhere else.

Good used selection, staff was friendly, and even had a spare cardboard flat pack I could but my records in for the rest of my vacation. Vinyl seemed to be priced correctly for condition etc.

We drove over 600 miles, coming out to see Black Hills Vinyl.open at 11amNot only us, but there were also at least 5 others waiting at 1120 on Monday, June 1st. Nobody was there and the store was not open yet.Too bad, we saw things in there we were interested in....maybe on our way back we will stop and see if your store is ioen, if we dont, well, I guess it wasnt meant to be.

This is a great shop with a lot of common titles and a few neat extras. Everything I picked up was clean and priced right. Staff was friendly and helpful. Its worth stopping if youre in the area.

Wow fantastic vinyl selection many great albums. Excellent employees very helpful and knowledge. They have a smallish CD section but some really great and harder to find artists.

Unfortunately, between the higher prices, mask mandate and political sign in the window, this local collector and enthusiast can not and will not shop at BHV.

Great selection of albums, but some of their prices are a bit too high!! The lady working was very unfriendly, made no attempt to help us, never said hi, never asked if we needed help and never said goodbye... I put back items I was going to purchase and decided I will not spend my money here again.

Nice location and not to mention they have a amazing selection of records that are either new or old. They also sell cassette tapes if anyone still has a old car maybe or just wants to relive the 80s. Their best records is inside a class case in the front table and believe me when I say it they are pretty rare and expensive (Beatles Butcher Cover, Autographed albums). The guy who works here is also really cool and helpful too.

These guys are so great to work with and for a great price point they will not dissappoint.I went in a week ago and ordered the Led Zeppelin BBC Sessions, arrived a day early and in a great package.
