Beautiful historic feel of the hotel rooms which were clean and well stocked with water. The concierge spoke good English but one night we came to pick up ballet tickets which we previously bought, however, the concierge was not to be found. The man at the reception claimed he could not give us our tickets because he “did not have information”. On another morning, i asked for help finding a hair salon, and the concierge said they would get back to me but they never did. One day we returned to our hotel room around 4 pm to find that it had not yet been cleaned. I was really hoping to give it a higher review because this hotel is a historical treasure, but the service was not up to par.

I wanted to have a better experience but I was disappointed.Yes rooms good and clean, service is good as well, however I had an incidence that wasn’t solved. My perfume suddenly disappeared after getting back to the hotel which our room was already cleaned by the housekeepers. Of course we looked very where and for couple of days, now we are leaving and it’s still no found. Of course it’s not the matter of perfume, it’s the matter of honesty from the hotel and to feel safe to keep my belongings in the room without supervision.

We booked our stay for 1 week and we were super excited to stay here as the pictures were super luxurious, marble bathrooms, beautiful decor. However after we checked in we were horrified by the horrible outdated bathrooms, furniture and bed. The pictures look nothing like in real life. The bathroom looks like it’s from 1900s, something from a village. The room and furniture is incredibly old. The fact is they are using fake pictures, the hotel room looks nothing like that in the pictures. Why lie??!

We had a really wonderful time at hotel Metropol. The location is superb! Just moments away from the Red Square and opposite the Bolshoy Theater. Very big and beautiful rooms, very clean and superb, kind and helpful staff. I have to spend few moments on the exceptional breakfast in a unique historical room accompanied by the music of a very skillful harpist, accompanied by red caviar and blinny among all other wonderful food choices! The little fountain in the middle of the breakfast hall and the lovely music made the breakfast experience really memorable. Staff is excellent. Location is superb. The only place for visitors of Moscow. We will come back again!

Had the 2,600 RUB breakfast buffet. While the food was only average quality, it is in a rather grand room, although they are only serving breakfast in there on Fridays. On Saturday & Sunday the price jumps to 6,500 RUB for brunch which I have not tried. The breakfast had free flow champanski which is fine if its your thing. Nothing ran out which is a plus. Now is a good time to come as it was more than half empty as there are no tours at the moment.

I stayed for 4 nights from September 20. When I checked in, the counter said that it would help me deliver my luggage. But after waiting for the hour, I didnt receive it, so I went down to the counter and asked the bellman for an inquiry. During the call, I called for baggage. The counter said that there was no bellman at the time. If there were free, they would help me to send my baggage as soon as possible. After I couldnt stand it, I went to the counter and asked, there were 2 porters waiting in front of the counter to help others. I suddenly felt discriminated. Then I ordered drinks and grilled vegetables on the first floor bar and sent them to the room. After an hour, I didnt get it until I called to confirm, they said that they received the order, but they forgot the room number. But I am sure to see the waiter write down my room number. During the stay, I placed 4 packs of dried fruit at the counter to give to my friends. My friend just sent a photo to me, but only 3 packs. God! It’s incredible! Five-star hotel employees will steal things from guests. I really don’t believe this is Five-star hotel. If you want to stay in this hotel, you should consider it clearly.

The service and breakfast was really good. And the history in the walls are simply amazing. The location is perfect. But consider the price and the stars this doesn’t really do the job. The rooms are outdated, the bathrooms are very small and unprofessional and “The Spa” reminded me more of a small swimming hall than a spa. My stay at the Metropol didn’t leave any memories. And except the breakfast and location, this reminded me of a very basic hotel stay.

Perfect location and superior service. Old world charm in the heart of historic Moscow. See Red Square, the Bolshoi theater from your bed. First class treatment in a comfortable environment. None of the pressure or apprehension you may have experienced only 15-20 years ago. In this area of town, I now feel more safe than I do in most major cities in the US. A lot of change going on.. it shows.. and I was very happy to see it. A few minor issues with outdated bathrooms and some cumbersome interactions but this is the local norm and I cant hold this minor issue against them. I would absolutely stay here again.

We stayed here last month and if I could give the hotel and staff a 10* we would!!When we walked in we were greeted by John Coleman who is absolutely amazing!!He sat with us and answered some of our questions for the next days itinerary and did so every day.He gave us so much insight to the city and places to go and visit that are not on local tour buses (we did go to the Cliffs of Moher and the Ring of Kerry). His attention to details and knowledge of Cork is unbelievable. Our room was huge and so clean.Every night when we returned from our outings our bed was always turned down and there was always a knock on the door to see if we needed anything for the evening. The newspaper and fresh coffee in the morning was an added bonus to our stay. The food at the Met was so tasty and very well presented.Every staff member greeted with a smile in passing. How can we forget the fresh green apples that were put in our room every day?? What a great treat. We are looking forward to coming back in April or May of next year.Thank you all for making our first trip to Cork so memorable.

The Metropol must have been one of the finest addresses in the world once upon a time (at least according to the book about the hotel that was provided in my room). Sadly, this time has passed and its now merely a shadow of its former self. Speaking of time that has passed - the time shows in the buildings interior, which is both out of style and somewhat tired. The five star rating must be a historic relic as well, as the reality is quite different - somewhere between 3 and 4 stars. The prices are those of a five star hotel, though. Wouldnt stay here again, even though the location is very convenient. Actually, the location is the only thing I quite liked.

Somehow the hotel had missed my booking but then they gave me a free upgrade to a kind of “suite” that surprised me a lot! Comfortable bed. Super large room. Two toilets in the suite. It was quite disappointing, rooms are small and bare, room looks out to other rooms nearly few meters away. The walk to the room was terribly creepy, looked like the Movie “The Shining” with creepy portraits of women looking at you. There was no sense of luxury once you left the lobby, everything was very bare. In the room, the toilets are like some cheap public toilet with dirty old tiles and the toilet seat was cheap thin plastic. They didn’t even supply tooth brushes and tooth paste. Toiletries was cheap and smell bad. Not worth the money at USD300++ not inclusive of breakfast. Better stay at Hyatt or Four Seasons next door.

I highly, highly recommend staying at this hotel due to its excellent location, attentive employees, and comfortable rooms/bathrooms!My husband and toddler and I stayed Friday, Saturday, and Sunday nights in March 2017, and they provided a full size wooden crib on wheels with sheets, duvet, and pillow. They also delivered colorful madeline cookies with dipping sauces just 10 minutes after checking in to say welcome to us and our baby.We booked a superior king room and were very impressed with the decor and view (#2226 on the second floor, looking at Revolution Square and the Kremlin). The ceilings were at least 15 feet high, the king size bed was really a king (76 in. wide x 80 in. long or 193 cm x 203 cm) and comfortable too, and there was more than enough space for our 2 large suitcases and 2 backpacks. The windows open with a key, which I called the front desk for and a bellman brought it literally within 90 seconds. I like to sleep at 65-70° (18-21°) so we kept the windows open during the day and closed them just before bed. There are two sets of double paned windows so when they are closed, the room is very quiet (by my light-sleeping standards.)The receptionists, bellmen, doormen, waitresses, and hosts were all polite and very helpful, spoke English, and made sure that we were comfortable and enjoying our visit. I researched about 5 other hotels in the area and am confident that this is the best one. Im already looking forward to my next visit!
