If you are not a contractor or a big client have fun. Customer care is lacking. I purchased some lumber and they told me where to go get it from their yard. Nobody walked with me to ensure I found the appropriate product. I understand treating bigger clients better but I was the only person in the whole store. This service is company wide not just at this location.
They were super helpful in finding the right material for our project. Rachel stepped up and spent the time with us making sure it was exactly what we needed.
I went into the store and paid cash for baseboard that I was told was in stock and advised that my flooring installer would be by to pick it up later that day. When he went to pick it up some of it was water damaged and he was told that they would order some more asap. Several days later they still had not received it...Because the installer needed to finish the job I had him reinstall the old baseboard. At that point I called BMC and told them that we would not need the remainder of the baseboard. I also asked them to please issue a refund to my credit card account....A month has passed and I still have not received the refund. I called today and despite providing them very detailed information about the invoice and the order, they seem to be clueless about what I was a talking about and ask that Ive come in in person and bring a receipt. What a waste of time. Never going to shop there again.

BAD CUSTOMER SERVICE!!!!!! My experience was horrible. I was very excited to build my very first thing ever and I left stressed and unhappy. I first went in to get a price check, the woman behind the counter looked as if she really did not want to be there talking to me. (Wednesday around 11:30 am) Then when I went back to actually buy the wood a man helped me. (Wednesday around 3pm) He was not friendly in any way. He left a pile of power tools on the counter so I had a hard time signing the receipt and he had a hard time finding the pen. When I asked questions like what was the total cost of just the wood he sighed and said ummm...well the other supplies were like $12. He did go get me some screws that I didnt know where to find but when he forgot what size I needed he yelled across the store and across a group of people to ask me.I went outside to get the wood already ticked off. Only to find that there are absolutely NO signs telling you what wood is what. I asked an employee where the 2x6x8s were and he pointed to a general vicinity. I ended up getting the wrong ones and had to unload and load again and again. Much of the wood was not suitable for what I was building as it had huge blemishes and cracks. So while I was digging around the man who helped at the desk came out and seemed aggravated at how long I was taking. It was only then that he actually helped me get the rest of what I needed. He left, got the wood, stacked it by my car and disappeared. I didnt even notice him do it so I just assumed that the wood stacked by my car was from him.You guys need better organization and better manners.

I had a roofing job done that was paid for in cash, which I was then told that it would be done within 2 weeks of payment. This was done the first week in June. The individual in charge of the job left a voice mail confirming payment. The job was finally done towards the end of July after having to go in person and ask what was going on. They had trouble even finding the down payment in their system.There excess shingles that I was told Id get a refund for and were left on my front lawn that are still there as of today. They called to request that I pay the bill, which I reminded them that the shingles were still on the lawn, which they were completely unaware of.It was my understanding that the job was still incomplete as they had not truly fulfilled their job as agreed. It would only make sense that the bill would be paid for when the entire service has been rendered.A letter is received from their lawyer threatening to take legal action to collect their money from the incomplete job. Another trip to BMC West is now required and from there an individual by the name of Donovan F. Meng speaks with me over the phone. This whole situation is explained to him, to which he reacts extremely defensively and aggressively. He tells me it was done within 3-4 weeks after the payment was received. The strange thing about it was that it was not anywhere close to 3-4 weeks, more like double.While he was willing to pick up the shingles, Mr. Meng refused to reimburse the cost of them. Which is quite odd as I was told months ago that it would indeed be refunded. The second I mention the fact that my lawn is damaged he basically ends the call with the threat of lawyers. He was completely unprofessional, impolite and insulting. He would constantly cut me off mid sentence and made it painfully obvious that he didnt care what I had to say.After that horrendous phone call another individual who actually knew the situation helped me sort things out. He was much more polite and understanding than the previous employee.Unfortunately, due to my experience with BMC West over the last 6 months for a single roofing job has left a sour taste in my mouth. I will no longer be a customer at BMC West. I highly recommend you look elsewhere for any service they provide. I fully expect to receive another letter from their lawyer specifically in regards to this review.On a side note, their lumber is overpriced in my opinion, and I think the people who dropped the shingles off managed to crush the rear end of my bicycle. Cant say for certain but the people at Bills Bike Shop said something extremely heavy would have had to crush the tire frame in such an odd fashion. You know what else is extremely heavy? Shingles.
Worst customer service weve ever encountered! Ordered an entire window package through them and when we needed assistance because of faulty products they basically ignored us. Went in personally twice and no one could figure out where our paperwork/order was, the rep who handled our order was too busy with other customers to help us, called numerous times and left voice messages and NEVER received one single return call. Ill never use them again for anything! I wouldnt even give them one star except this posting wouldnt let me submit this review until I selected a star.

BMC had the new dead bolt I needed in stock. Took the package to Raul who worked to re-key the new dead bolt to match the other locks on my house. As he was working with the many tiny parts needed to make the change, I picked up another piece to look at it and only then discovered that this part too was filled with many tiny parts, e.g. springs, cylinders that scattered all over the counter. Raul did not express any consternation with my clumsiness but simply started to work on putting it all back together. Raul later passed the job to Dallin who worked tirelessly to fix my mistake as well as complete the re-key. In the end, Dallin determined that my current key was too old to fit securely enough to work the lock set properly and my error made the whole dead bolt kit unusable. Dallin told me to get a new dead bolt off the shelf and then sold the new one to me at the marked price, charging me nothing for his wasted time as well as for my error that ruined the first kit. I was quite surprised and very pleased with their level of customer service.
I called in to check prices on wood and he answered saying hey so i immediately wondered if i had the right number and then after i asked if it was BMC West they said yes and put me on hold. He was not friendly at all and acted like he wanted off the phone asap so he could go back to doing nothing.
The staff are not very friendly or helpful, and God forbid you are a woman and go in here alone. My friend said she got stared at like she was unwelcome here.
