Dr. James Benning was kind and the receptionist was ok but my issues are that the center was filthy. The Drs clothes were dirty and the lady at the front desk was wearing nasty scrubs. I asked to use the bathroom and it was disgusting. We are still in a pandemic! They need to have that center completely cleaned and sanitized immediately.Also the prices are too high, I will get my bifocals elsewhere.

Dr.Benning is awesome! But before you meet with him his receptionist puts you in a terrible mood! Makes you expect the worse from the doctor because of her energy. It also makes me wonder how he is allowing all of these negative reviews about one person to go unread for over a year. My insurance sent me there due to proximity of the franchise to my home. However, I wish I read the reviews. The receptionist was the rudest person I’ve ever encountered. She didn’t even tell me about the additional pricing I would need to pay for my exam when booking. I had to pay an unexpected out of pocket expense. To round it off, SHE ISN’T WEARING A MASK! Not wearing improperly, not off while eating, not wearing it AT ALL. Terrible. After I get my contacts, they will not have me come back as a client.

The Doctor at this location was great. After I paid for mine and my wifes exams, the lady at the front desk refused to give us the eye exam paperwork. She said all we get is the prescription. My insurance requires us to submit proof of the exam with the date. Since she refused to give us the paperwork, we will have to go somewhere else to get an exam. I am disputing the charge on my credit card and also disputing the payment with the insurance company.

Receptionist wasnt wearing a mask until I was near, she put her mask on, and then touched the paperwork and pen I needed to use. I asked if she had hand sanitizer because I realized I forgot mine, and she said no. I told her I wasnt comfortable fulfilling the appt and left. I saw some clorox wipes, but that looked to be the extent of managing cleanliness.

The doctor was great, and this is nothing on him. The receptionist/desk lady/whatever she is has no customer service skills. She literally looks like she doesn’t want to be there. I don’t expect cheery welcomes and goodbyes, but at least act like you actually work in customer service? Let me mention the MOST IMPORTANT part, during the pandemic we’re in right now, she was NOT wearing at mask AT ANY POINT of my visit. I won’t be coming here again. My respect to the doctor who was actually wearing a mask and was very polite.

Thr receptionist is horrible, she is a frail baby boomer that jumped on me like a probation officer. Immediately as I walked into the store to get my lenses changed she acted as if I was speaking a foreign language; as if she was far more intellectually superior.

This place is horrible. I feel so much better knowing that Im not the only one that received horrible service from the front desk lady. Its close to my house so its the second time Ive been there in 2 years receive the same service both times. Not to mention but the store carries left name brand glasses than Target. If what the owner says is true, way to make me feel horrible about being upset for receiving horrible service.

So all the reviews about the rude old receptionist are accurate . Not really sure why she still works in customer service. Unless she is related to the eye doctor . It was our first and LAST visit. We were not to happy with the doctor either.I strongly suggest going some place else. We did the eye exam but took our prescription to be filled elsewhere. Im surprised they are still in business with this kind of service. (Lack of)To whoever responded to my review- You should not be advertising anyones personal background on display.If she lacks social skills as you say, she should seek professional help for her issues. As a person who has been a victim of violence, I do not use this as an excuse to be rude. It does not take much social skills to say hello.This is a disgusting response.

Doctor who has been running franchise is good at what he does but the products & services are pitiful. Ive wore glasses for 50+ years and always with upgrades, but the pair I got from this business didnt last 1 year, lens went before frames and any coverage / insurance wasnt covered #NotGuaranteed

Sad to say, this Pearle WILL NOT get my business ever again. Upon entering the building i was greeted with WHAT DO U NEED?, shouldve turned around then, but i needed my glasses to see. I told the lady they are broken and needed them to be fixed. I stood there a few moments then she ushered me to come over and looked at my glasses and said they are broken which was the obvious and if she had listened to understand we couldve been past that part and onto how you can assist with the problem. She told me i had to get a new frame which wasnt true upon going to another location. She even suggested a fix it place which i wasnt interested in due to my glasses wasnt even a year old. Warranty anyone? So i left cause she made me feel as if i was bothering her vs serving her customers. Went to Webb Chapel and less than 2 mins i was in and out. Found the exact glasses and popped my lens out and was on my merry way. Less $20 for under warranty.

****DO NOT RECOMMEND******I wish I would have read the reviews before wasting my time here. As literally almost EVERYONE has stated below me, the receptionist (or whatever she is) is extremely unprofessional and rude. She belongs somewhere in the back of the store where she doesn’t need to interact with paying customers.I also was conned into purchasing the extending warranty/insurance (not sure the exact term they use) for both pairs of glasses that I bought there. Once it came time to use it, I was met with hurdle after hurdle. Finally I was able to bring in one of the pair for replacement in April. Months go by and I don’t hear a thing. I finally call in July and I’m told they are waiting on the frame. So I wait another 2 months (September) before finally calling again just to be told they finally got the frames in and will be putting the lenses in shortly and will give me a call once they are ready to pick up. 1 month later I still haven’t heard back so I call and I’m told they are ready and that I was called? Except I never got a call nor a voicemail. Whatever, at this point I just want my glasses back. I get there and pick them up only to notice they only replaced the lenses NOT THE FRAME. How do I know this? The same scratches that were on my frames when I turned them in 6 months ago were still there! Also, there was so much dirt/build up under the lenses which I can see since the frames are clear! Not only that, but the main reason I wanted new frames was because one of the arms was severely bent, and it still was slightly bent when I got the “new” pair. I confront the The receptionist and she says, “it must’ve happened when putting in the new lenses.” She also assured me that the frames were new because it came with a new case???? Except that’s not even the case it came with when I first bought them. All in all, this company has fraudulent practices and I would never recommend them to anyone! Stay far away!

I have moved out of the area . And according to their secretary they don’t have email to send me the prescription that I paid for and am entitled to have . Secretary responded saying that she will leave a note on the doctors desk. I will be following up everyday until this is addressed . Who doesn’t have email with this day and age ? You give prescriptions and eye exams, make glasses and prescribe contacts. Your in business for something as serious as a persons vision and you guys don’t have email ? Fax is apparently the only way they are able to send the copy of your prescription or you have to come get it . The first time I was provided with a copy of my prescription, it was hand written poorly and no one could read the writing . I suggest someone call me about this issue immediately. With all the trouble I have had just obtaining the prescription I purchased, I will never return there or anywhere related to Pearle Vision.

Horrible experience! The lady working there was super unfriendly and not only she didn’t greet us, she was super rude and was unwilling to help even though we were her only customers. I wish it was just that,,,, she didn’t have a mask on and there was no procedure as to clean the worn glasses or any type of preventative measures. it was terrible and I hope they do something about this.

The staff here are excellent. The technician James, went out of his way to order a specific frame I was looking for. I am always met with a friendly greeting when i enter the store and the service has always been great. I would definitely recommend this location.

I like my glasses that I got from here but they failed to mention they had a buy one get one free promotion going on. Since I paid a good amount of money for my glasses it would have been nice to hear that I had the option to get a second pair free. Called back to ask if I could still get the promotional discount on another pair of glasses and they said no because I would have had to purchase them with the initial pair.My response is if Id known about the promotion when getting the first pair then I obviously would have used it. I know I cant complain too much about a promotional offer but that just felt sneaky to not say a word about it even though I spent a mint on the first pair.

This review is based entirely on Dr. James Benning, as we did not interact with his secretary at all. He gave a fantastic exam to my beloved niece: he is great with kids! An extremely sweet and aware Doctor when it comes to the financial difficulties that families face in affording glasses. Even with the credit, a lack of insurance makes affording frames tough. Dr. Benning understands this and gives you your PD measurement upfront. Woke 🕶I will definitely be returning for my eye exam here when the time comes. Dont bother with the groupon, just call and ask about vision exam specials! He will give you the same rate. 👏👏👏 Thanks for being a good human!

Old lady in the front that’s working now at 121pm is rude and I made sure to look in the comments to make sure I wasn’t trippin. She need to find a job she loves or find a better attitude. I just walked out . Even the other customer was shocked . I’m new to this area and I’ll drive 30 mins away to where I been going to get my glasses adjusted .

This place is horrible. The receptionist is rude and unhelpful. Before I went to this place, i called to ensure that they were in my network and accepted my insurance and the receptionist told they did. The visit was a little weird but okay. They had to order my trial contacts and told me they would be there in 5 -7 days . So I waited a week for them to give me a call and they didn’t. So I called and was told that weren’t in. I called back a week later and still nothing . So by the 3rd week they had finally came in but no one at Pearle Vision called me . I just so happen to called right before they closed and they were there . This is the worst experience i have ever had surrounding contacts and I have been wearing contacts for 14+ years.

Most horrible customer service. The lady at front desk is rude. I made an appointment with Doctor a day ahead. I showed up on time the next day for my eye check. The lady at front desk told me my appointment is cancelled after showing up. She did not show any apology. I drove 1 hour to make the appointment and paid toll in rush hour. While I was there for 10 minutes another customer showed up. That customer was also told that her appointment was cancelled. Where was a phone call to inform us that appointment was cancelled !! HORRIBLE .. STAY AWAY !!

Terrible. I have been trying to get my visit record faxed to Lasik Vision Institute for 2 years now and they still have not received it. I requested this to be done during my visit 2 years ago and signed a release at that time (I did not follow up, I assumed it would be done) and it was not done.The following year, LVI notified me that they were still missing 2015s record. I called Pearle Vision and they said they had my record in hand and would take care of it (I did not follow up, again, assuming since it was in hand they would be doing it immediately.) This year, I was again notified that they are still missing 2015s record. I have called numerous times, faxed a release 4 times, and my visit record still has not been sent! Once they even said oh, I think I saw that last week but I dont see it in your chart now, you will need to fax it again. No explanation as to what happened to it. I do not have a fax machine conveniently located so it is a lot of trouble to continue to fax the same release multiple times. This is ridiculous! By the way, the physician is great, it is just the office staff was rude during my visit and incompetent with follow up requests.

Incredibly disappointed. My wife said that she was talked down to when she went and any time she called. I tried and the doctor was nice. However, I’ve tried a few times (most recent this past Monday) to buy contacts and glasses. I was told everyone was out of the office and they couldn’t do anything for me. This was after my wife tried to call a few weeks ago and they said she had to come up ther to get the prescription, but never received a call back. She left a message with them, and still didn’t receive a call back. The doctor was nice, but the staff was TERRIBLE!

I would give this place a zero, they scammed my husband with the groupon deal. They called him back and stated the eye exam was not included in the deal . After 2 days of my daughter wearing her glasses the screw came undone and shattered her lens. After trying to get in contact with the “manager” Laurie ( left several messages and never returned my phone call) I finally got a hold of her and she stated I had to pay 50 percent of the retail price of the frames to get them repaired . I explained to her they were defective, she then stated “ I can’t prove “ they were defective. I asked her to speak to someone higher then her, first she said that she was “it” then stated there is a General manger who is currently on vacation, refused to provide me with her number and proceed to hang up on me . THIS PLACE IS FRAUD! They don’t even care about there reviews ! Laurie is the rudest manager I’ve ever had to deal with.

Note: would give a zero if I could...I made 2 visits. My first visit clerk was very rude and stated they didnt accept Groupon when I clearly purchased from there location. However, I loved a pair of glasses that they carried and didnt have my information to purchase at the time and had to come back.On my 2nd visit, since I live 45 min away I made sure theyd be open late so that I could purchase. Since they hardly answer the phone, I looked online and it shows that they close at 7:00pm Mon - Fri. I arrived Monday afternoon at 6:00 and they were closed and changed there time to close at 5:30 with STICKERS and DIDNT UPDATE ONLINE. I think that is horrible Customer Service and Horrible as a franchise not to keep that IMPORTANT information to your customers up to date.*Tip - if you purchased a Groupon, you can request an exchange on the app and theyll give you a credit towards another purchase immediately and you can purchase another item within 48 hours...thats what Ill be doing, Such business WILL NOT get my service or money.

I have been going here since I was in Jr. High and they use to be very professional, but it seems that no longer is the case. The lady at the front doesnt even acknowledge customers and if she does it is in the most rude and disrespectful way. Sort of like your walking into the store is an extreme annoyance. I wanted to purchase new glasses and contacts but apparently it was too much of an inconvenience. She took my prescription and made me wait 30 minutes before telling me that it would take 2 weeks to get contacts so she couldnt help me and then proceeded to help other customers. Absolutely awful. Its taking DAYS to get my prescription. Its MY medical records and they legally cannot keep them from me like this. DO NOT go here if youre looking for an easy way to get what you need.I hate being rude to people but its the only way to get them to do anything.Also dont fall for the Groupon. Its says $200 off but the lenses the force you to buy are over $200. Plus theyll laugh at you if thats too expensive for you.

I am not sure why others had such a bad experience here. I brought my wife here after seeing their Groupon for a cheap exam and $200 towards designer frames. The exam was quick - Dr. Bennet was really friendly - and the glasses were ready within a few days even though we were expecting them to be ready in a week. Overall it was a great experience and I highly recommend coming here!

Very frustrating! Purchased Groupon that was to cover exam, lenses, and $200 towards frames. Well after calling to schedule appt, what they really meant was. The $200.00 went towards the total cost of lenses and frames. Basic lenses are $235.00, anything like Bi-Focal s is extra and most inexpensive frames start at $99.00 and go up to $329.00. Top it off I went to their website to look at frames to see what they have and what the costs were in attempt to budget. NO LUCK none of the tabs work, when clicked they just load a blank page. Ive worked with Groupon for my business and know for certain as a business you know exactly what the terms of the Groupon are before signing the agreement. Pearle Vision total fail you suck.

While Dr Benning was professional- yes he used older equipment but I personally prefer that to the newer computer equipment due to getting subpar Rxs on those at times. BUT the staff- one woman in particular- is very incompetent and not even close to being frienfly. She almost left my frames sitting out after I had paid for them and the lenses, and she ordered the completely wrong TWO sets of sample contacts. When I went in I was told that they were correct when they clearly were not. The doctor was not there and able to look at them or to fit them. I told her I would leave them there and come back. PS- you have to wait about 10 days to get your glasses/contacts as they do not do that on site or have sample contacts in site. They also will not give you even a contact lense case for your contacts. Will not be returning. I just hope I don’t have to go somewhere else and start all over and pay all over.

My brother came in for an eye exam and the front desk receptionist whos name was Ellen was very rude when he asked if he could schedule an appointment, the optometrist came out and corrected her for her behavior by telling her he could schedule him in, as we were checking out she answered a phone call to which she was very rude in answering her questions and she proceeded to say Im going to have to hang up because were very busy which was a reply to her asking to speak to her superior. Bad customer service is bad business.

Worst customer service. Took my prescription to this Pearl vision and was told it would take 7 to 10 days. Now I am told it would take 2 1/2 weeks because my lenses were special ordered. I have never had lenses special ordered. I was never called to tell me this was the case. The woman who helped was ruse. I will never,ever,ever buy from this company again. Well, someone doesn’t want my business!I needed to replace scratched lenses from a pair of ray bans i had bought a year ago at another PV location, plus i also wanted to purchase prescription sunglasses. I didn’t go to the other PV location in Plano since it was closed at 4pm (it was 3:57) so I headed to this one. I walked in and immediately was greeted by a young woman who was helpful and pointed out the sunglasses selection. I selected a pair of sunglasses with the help of my italian husband (whilst conversing with each other about how the glasses looked in italian) and when we were done we headed towards the OD....the older of the two ladies. I approached her desk and she could barely bother to look up. And her winning personality came shining through immediately. In the worst attitude possible she managed a “Can I help you with something?” Uh, obviously. So I explained what i needed and she said immediately and dismissively..”well the lenses for this come out to $303.00.” Mmm, i think not. So i said wait, with insurance? (BTW, at the other PV location in Plano, they immediately asked me do you want this through insurance) But at this place, she had already assumed i couldn’t possibly have vision insurance. I handed her my card which i was holding in my hands from the get go. She asked me incredulously if this was from my employer. I said yes. Then she got on the phone and said your insurance is closed so I can’t process the prescription. Not sure if this was her way of saying no way can this be legit, let me call and find out. because i’m pretty sure at the plano PV no phone calls were made, and instead the lady there did something on the computer where she was able to help me out without a problem. So, we left and took our business elsewhere. Walmart vision center immediately printed out my insurance info and were very helpful. i walked out with a new frame as well as they convinced me it was same cost than without. I also replaced the lenses out ofpocket for the older ones and it was only $60.00. Not $303.00 like at PV. If you want to be treated like a second rate customer, this is the place for you. If you want to be judged because you can speak multiple languages besides english,....come on down y’all.

I had a confirmed 4:30pm appointment for the optometrist, and when I showed up at 4:33pm, I was advised that the printer was not working and they were overbooked so they cancelled the appointment. I was completely out of contacts and wearing old glasses, and the appointment was cancelled at the end of the day on a weekend. I had to wait until the next week to be fit in elsewhere.

My first appointment here was fine the people are friendly and welcomoing, but it has been a month since I order my glasses and the maximum time is a week to 10 days. Everyone I call they tell me, my frames broke, or my lenses are stratched. A worker even told me they would go to Fort Worth and get my glasses, so I can pick them up the next day. This hasnt happened, I called today and they said my glasses will finally be ready Monday. But I dont even know if they are, because everytime its pickup day I call to see if my glasses are there, they inform me that something went wrong. Its been a MONTH! So if youre looking for a place to get youre glasses within a week, this is NOT THE PLACE!

I really like Dr. Benning. Hes very nice. They have a decent selection of frames. Was saddened to find out that James had passed away this year. This isnt the closest location to me but I still like going to this location to see Dr. Benning. He has a scanning machine to check your eyes without dialation which i hate to have my eyes dialated. Pearle Vision is a little pricey but Ive never had a problem here. Thanks guys.
