This is about 12 years overdue! Elie is, and has been, my hair god and hair artist for almost 12 years! I drive an hour and twenty minutes for this perfection. He and his team are extremely professional and absolutely amazing! Elie has become like family to me. His work is like nothing I have ever seen before and I would drive across country if I had to. I cant begin to mention the number of times he has opened the salon for me because I have an event that I need to get my hair done for, and of course I wouldnt trust anybody other than him or his team to do my hair. Everytime I sit in his chair, he asks me what I want done. I always reply with, Elie, I never told you what to do before, why would I start now? I trust that when I walk out of there, Im not only satisfied, but I feel like a model...which I am far from! Thank you to Elie Esper and his amazing team for your hard work and perfection! Also, I cant write this review without mentioning Andreina! Shes his receptionist and I believe manager, as well. She goes above and beyond to make sure every client is comfortable and happy! One time, she held my baby so I can have a break and enjoy the experience. Love these people beyond words!

The receptionist is just so rude I’m not sure how this owner allows someone to book appointments. my services were mediocre and after seeing how she talks to people it’s a big disappointment. I waited over an hour without an apology and I was charged a much different price than someone before me with the exact same service. This place looks pretty inside but unless you’re Arabic they don’t treat you nicely

GREAT haircut and color! Thanks to the entire Elie Esper team to make my experience so wonderful from start to finish. Specially to my hairstylist Rakan who recommended me my new look. I now have the hairstyle and highlights which look good on my hair and skin color.I must add, I have met many celebrity hairstylist, Makeup artist, big or small from different countries as I work in event management. Rakan is by far the sweetest, honest and passionate hairstylist I have ever met. He went over and beyond to make sure I walkout looking stunning. The way he was handling my hair, you could tell he really cares about the customer. He made me enjoy the entire process so much that I became comfortable, relaxed and lost track of time. I’m so happy A family member referred me to Elie Esper salon!!! Rakan is amazing, I went fromDark brown to golden blond to a balayage with tape-in Extensions with no damage to my hair!! I would go in for treatment & toner once in a while, I’m obsessed with Rakans’ work!! His hair style of beach waves is amazing!!! I love perfection and I’ve hopped around to different salons from Nj to nYc until I found Rakan! I would refer him to anyone too!!

If I can give this place a zero star I would, but sadly I can’t. PLEASE DONT COME HERE !!! They will damage your hair and give you something you didn’t ask for. I asked for a mix of highlights with a balyage and look at my pictures to see what they gave me. I had my appointment at 12 and didnt call me in after an hour. So unproffesional. Im so dissapointed with my visit here and they charged me $33 dollars for a cut when it wasn’t even a cut, It was a small trim not even 2 inches. They overprice and don’t tell you they have sales going on when they do. I paid $250 for this garbage work. The receptionist was so rude to my mother, she was sweeping right in front of her and told her to pay beforehand as if we weren’t going to pay her probably because of how we looked since were Hispanics and they all were a mix of white and something else.Overall so rude. Just please don’t come here you will waste your money and time. Save your money and go somewhere else. I truly dont even know why theyre still open as a salon. Completely trash.

They took me without an appointment but glad I called 1st to make sure they had time for a walk in. I got my haircut by Elie and I LOVED it. Im happy that he didn’t take off more length than what I asked for which is what a lot of stylists do. He helped give advice about getting a keratin treatment and hair coloring. I showed him pictures and he helped explained how to achieve those colors and whats realistic on my hair and not. Im definitely going back to try the keratin treatment and get my hair colored. Elie and the other stylists were very friendly and recommend to come here ASAP

Love this salon. Everyone is super kind and great at what they do. The atmosphere in the salon is also very relaxing and welcoming. Rocky is my go to stylist and is always super attentive. I get my hair colored, cut, and treated and leave happy each time. Would definitely recommend coming here to get your hair done.

My sisters, mom and I have been coming to Elie Esper salon for years now. I haven’t been since the pandemic but decided to pamper myself today with a blow out. The salon looks exceptional as always especially with the new aesthetic changes. I got my hair washed with a blow out and curls for $35 which is a great deal especially with my thick Middle Eastern hair. Anywhere else would have charged me double. Rakan was my stylist and he was great! He’s professional and punctual and made me look/feel like a million bucks! I highly recommend Elie Esper salon!

I went to Elie Asper for a Keratin Treatment, color and haircut and my keratin treatment was of very low quality. The treatment didn’t even last 3 weeks, I get this treatment every year from a different place and it usually stays for 3-4 months. I noticed while the hairdresser doing the keratin he didn’t use the flat iron properly and used big chunks of hair instead of small ones. After washing off the product from my hair I realized that the hair were still frizzy and curly.I will not go to Elie Asper for another KeratIn Treatment.

My hair is between wavy and curly. For many years I thought of getting a short haircut and anytime I went to any salon the stylist always suggested to keep them long with layers. I was kind of bored with my hairstyle and after reading the reviews for Elie Esper I thought of giving it a try.My stylist was Rakan and he did a wonderful job. He is very knowledgeable and suggested me bob cut with one side a little longer. And trust me I am so happy taking his advice. He is patient with his work and knows how to give a new look that is elegant and different. During the cut he asked if Im liking the cut and I said its good, he replied we dont want good, we want perfect and to be honest he really did a perfect haircut.The salon is overall clean, taking sufficient safety measures for covid, prompt and easy to make appointments. I will surely come back here 🙂

My girlfriend just got her hair done from this place and they had zero idea of how to cut her hair to how she wanted. The stylist even went so far as to say the style looks good to him and he wouldnt have done it otherwise. Thats not putting the customers wishes first which is the whole point and now her hair looks entirely different from what she wanted, and right before she starts her new job. Even the hair coloring was drastically off. Then they had the audacity to blow dry her hair without her wanting it and then charging her for said blow dry. Awful place with awful customer service. Would never go here again or let anyone I know go here.

I used Eli Espers team for my wedding day hair and makeup, and they did not disappoint! Fantastic work with me (Bride) and the girls! Lack of professionalism everywhere. My money totally wasted. Im new in Town and Went there because 2 friends of mine had recommended the place. Had a horrible experience as a first time customer and absolutely not coming back. To start My hair was not washed properly, I told Silvie to please give me an extra shampoo because my hair is too greasy she said I didnt need it and that the protocol is only 2 shampoos max, ok, fine, she took me to blow dry my hair, didnt even do little buns to separate the hair and then she just started to dry it all together. Then.... she starts talking about the horrible time she had in Miami because everyone there speaks Spanish and she couldnt find anyone that spoke English (which I think is very ridiculous of her to say that, hello, its Miami, everyone speaks english) and btw Im HISPANIC so I took all those comments she made very personal because she was referring to my people and myself. 10 mins after she started my hair was done all puffy and ugly looking like a dish sponge. The story doesnt end here, when I go to the receptionist to pay... she starts rolling her eyes at me when I was trying to spell my name to her so she could put it on her system for the card payment, she asked for my phone number, address, Email etc etc and I had to keep repeating myself and she kept acting stupid like she couldnt understand me, then she says to me you know what just leave it like that and Ill just charge the card. I signed the receipt and left. Very disappointed went there because my friend had worked with Elie before and this is not what I was expecting from the salon, and the staff.

Hello, I’m not one to write negative reviews. However, I felt the need to share. I don’t have a Gmail account so using someone else’s. I made an appointment for the first time with this salon and shared a picture with my stylist. I had asked for balayage with darker brown roots and a transition to blonde. With balayage, the foils typically start lower than your typical highlights with a bit more blending at the roots. I ended up pretty much with a full bleached head with little to no variation or transition from dark to light. After starting at 2:15 PM, the foils (the bleach) stayed in my hair for a couple of hours. I left the salon at 8:30 PM. I do have a lot of hair, however, leaving bleach for such a long time on darker hair can cause a lot of dryness and damage. Though my hair is damaged/dry, the color was beautiful, but the stylist did not listen to the instructions that I specifically shared. Additionally, I had also asked for a haircut to get rid of the overly processed ends. After washing it and straightening it myself at home, I noticed that there were a few areas that were much longer than the rest. I had asked for a straight cut. I was also asked to come back for an additional application of toner two weeks later. I will not be returning as I am fearful that my hair will be more damaged. I also noticed that the salon is dirty (hair and dust everywhere) and is poorly kept. Pricing was okay…but if you want better results, I would recommend going elsewhere.

I received coupon for a Keratin treatment so I booked an appointment. First time. Place looks nice and elegant next to the bridal boutique. Parking is fairly easy in front or back of salon. I was told after washing my hair that they don’t do the actual Keratin it’s a Brazilian blowout. I was a bit disappointed but was told it’s the same thing but better.My Hair was straightened and given beautiful shine. I don’t believe it gives the same outcome long term as the regular Keratin Complex but for $125 I guess it will do.

Three weeks ago, I had a makeup done by one of his girls works in his salon on my niece wedding which I was so excited about, but it was really disappointing for the makeup I had, I show the makeup artist a picture for the makeup I want, but unfortunately she couldnt do any off, she did the way how she wants, she couldnt do the contour or eyes makeup at all, she kept talking about how tired she is from the party she had last night and she came home in the morning of my niece wedding just to change her cloths and come right away from NJ to NY, she didnt sleep at all, she wasnt able to do her job at all, because she was drunk.Plus she used un cleaned brushes, she didnt have enough makeup supply and her colors was limited.My niece kept asking her to fix my makeup, but she couldnt at all which make my niece to do it for me especially the eyeliner.How disappointing I am, I paid a lot of many for my makeup plus upper and tip and I didnt get any from what I asked.I had to go home and fix it by myself.I wasted my money on unprofessional makeup artist.I want a full refund.

I went here about a month ago and it was a huge mistake. I naturally have dark black hair and wanted to go lighter (blonde-ish). I know this kind of treatment should be done over time not in one sitting. I was there for 8 hours and the stylist was so inattentive to my hair that by the time it was done I had chunks falling out and he actually fried my hair off because of the bleach. My hair is so thin and brittle now because he kept pushing my hair to go lighter. I spent over $300 to damage my hair and I dont even know when it will go back to normal. If i could take this all back I would. Beware and go somewhere where they will take the health of your hair into consideration.

Amazing experience! Place is easy to find with limited parking behind the building, which is good to know as there was no street parking when I arrived. The salon is clean with refreshments available while you wait. Everyone is very efficient and Joseph did a great job with my haircut and color. I have black hair and he was able to lighten it without using bleach! The only downside is that they only accept cash tips and I never carry cash with me. So be sure to bring cash to tip for the great service you will get. Definitely recommend.

This is a very nice place. NICOLE gave me the best haircut. She has all the European techniques. I haven’t had it an amazing haircut like this in a long time. She also did my roots and I was extremely pleased. I highly recommend this place and NICOLE if you want a nice trendy haircut.

They are extremely professional. I booked them for my wedding and everyone came on time exactly at 6 am at the hotel like they were suppose to. I wanted to give Joseph a shoutout. Victor was my hair stylist and he was absolutely amazing!!!! I went in with dry damaged hair. Ive been working on getting the perfect color, texture, and also getting a haircut without going shorter. He helped me achieve all of those things! My hair feels soft, the length was perfect. He knew not to chop away and the color is amazing. I have been to other salons where they start adding a million unnecessary things but he gave me exactly what I wanted and needed. I am so excited to visit again!!! I would only go to Victor. The receptionist was also very sweet!

Josh is an AMAZING hair stylist! He can pretty much duplicate or create any hairstyle you ask for and completes the style in no time at all! The salon itself is gorgeous, clean, and pristine. The staff is super friendly and always accommodating. They always have cookies or goodies for clients to snack on while waiting and always offer you coffee, tea, or water. Always a great experience!

My wedding day was picture perfect thanks to Elie for my gorgeous hair and Natalia for my flawless makeup. I came from Michigan and planned my wedding in Atlantic City New Jersey. Without even meeting Elie I knew that he would be doing my hair for my wedding I could just tell he has talented. I called the salon and checked if they would travel 3 hrs to come do my hair and makeup and 9 other girls. They said yes we travel. I booked my flight and had my hair and makeup trial. I was amazed with my trial and had to have them for my wedding. I was so happy with the customer service and work. The big day came and early they showed up to my hotel room ready to work. I felt so relaxed when everyone came in energized at 7 am after driving 3 hrs. Natalia is so amazing at makeup I just could not believe how natural and glamorous I looked. Elie was such a perfectionist even when I thought my hair was perfect he was still fixing every little detail. My pictures came back and I remembered WOW Elie Esper Salon was worth every penny spent!!!! Thanks again for making my wedding day just perfect!!!!! I look forward to getting my hair and makeup done for my friends wedding next July who I recommended to you!

One of the most amazing salons I’ve been to in quite some time! Joseph did a color, highlights, cut and blowout and it was exactly what I wanted but better! I’m very very picky about my hair but he knew exactly what to do! Salon is beautiful and clean and service was excellent!! My new salon to come to!

I booked an appointment with a Groupon and when I arrived the lady at the front desk informed me that I had been there 2x last year, the last time being Dec for highlights. The Groupon was for new clients, I knew this and Ive NEVER been there before, as a matter fact you were able to SEE my hair dye and highlights grew down past my shoulder which is way more than 3-4 months, 17 months to be exact. Apparently who ever went had my same name, phone number and email address. Yet Ive never ever been there! I drove all the way from Jersey City and she didnt believe me even after seeing my hair and turned me away informing me that I had received discounts in the past. She wanted to give 25% of the regular pricing which was way more than the Groupon I purchased. It was a weird and terrible experience !

I have been coming to your salon for over 15 years and have recommended several of your clients. But the way my family was treated yesterday was completely unacceptable. My 13 year old cousin was at your salon for 6 HOURS for a highlights, base cut and style with James. Not only did everyone in the salon touch her hair at some point James was so over booked and kept taking everyone before my family that he didn’t begin to finish her hair until 830pm last night. Not only is this utterly not acceptable my family after being there again 6HOURS was offered nothing but coffee or water. I understand some processes take longer but who in their right mind would think that waiting 6 hours is acceptable especially for a 13 year old girl???? Then the bigger joke came when it was time to pay with the total costing $400. My aunt went to use her 20% off coupon and your “manager” stated it was a balaige and the coupon is not acceptable. However where ever you read about balaige it states that it is a simple 45 minute coloring process not 6 hours of sitting around waiting for your stylist to finish the 5 clients that came after them. I am disgusted that I recommend this salon to anyone right now. The manager took off $100 dollars from the $400 total bill. That is horrible customer service and after 6 HOURS your salon should have paid for my aunts time waiting by there like idiots while other clients are in and out. It really disgusts me how my family was treated by your manager yesterday and I will go through every chain of command to get a refund for her horrible service she received yesterday. Again 6 hours in your salon for a 13 year old girl and a woman who works 60 hrs a week yet made an appointment 3 weeks in advance for according to balaige is a “quick service” yet took 6 HOURS to complete. Shame on you guys!

I had my hair styled for professional portraits today. HUGE mistake. My hair was frizzy and the waves were dented/crooked. I paid $100 for these portraits with this awful hair do. Extremely disappointed.

I bought a coupon on Groupon for haircut and single color processing so i went there and and nobody said hello nonody was at the reception desk so i decided to sit down, after several minutes the receptionist came and asked me to follow her which i did she asked me a bunch of questions and she even told me that i was there before which was not true at all it was my FIRST AND LAST TIME. I had long hair so i asked for a specific model for my haircut the stylist came and he literally took dhe scissors and cut my hair up to the shoulders.... He said he was gone fix them later and than he decided to just color my roots not whole my hair and he didnt introduce himself at all until after i washed my hair and started to style my hair which by the way look horrible... But still I tipped him which i guess i made a mistake he didnt deserved anything.... NEVER AGAIN BACK THERE and i will be saying to everyone not to go and God i know a lot of people

It was a really bad experience . I had my booking with them from 2 months and just 2 days before the wedding they asked for more money and mentioned few other things right before the wedding although i went 3 times for the trial where they didnt say anything .They dont have any good makeup artist so dont try doing makeup .I had to cancel my apt cx they were a mess . They didnt return my money or anything even .Very bad experience . Please dont waste ur time and money on them !

I bought a groupon for a Coppola keratin treatment at Elie Esper Salon and I had the treatment done on May 21st. After driving around for 20 minutes trying to find the salon I parked across the street in a parking lot. Once inside a lady came over to me stood there and then introduced herself to me, brought me to the sink and starting washing my hair. Never told me what she was doing, I would ask questions and say ive never had it done before and she barely spoke to me. There were a few other ppl getting their hair done and the owner was there and never spoke one word to me. I tried asking another hair dresser where the bathroom was and he barely spoke English. The only person that was somewhat helpful was the receptionist at the front desk. I not only would not recommend this place to anyone but also the treatment didnt work. My hair was nice for the three days I couldnt wash it and then was back to normal. Waste of time and money and quite frankly they were rude.

FIRST AND LAST TIME. I bought a groupon for a haircut... come to find out, I had to pay $25 for my hair to be blownout, because it wasnt included in the groupon. Had I known that at the time the guy was blowdrying my hair I would have told him I was fine. I wasnt even offered the chance to refuse. They were just trying to get money out of me. Granted, my hair dresser was great, his name is Chris and I HIGHLY recommend him, but I will never go back to that salon.

So, where should I start.....I bought on groupon a keratin with hair cut...I made an appointment a month before...I went there on 10th October....they called me one day before the 10 oclock appointment, I can still going or not...I said yes....ok...it was a morning time. they called me again couple hours later, that they have a meeting at that time so if I dont mind to move to 11 oclock...I said ok... 2 hours later they called me again to my appointment to 12, couse the meeting will be long....I was angry and I told them I hope is a last change, because I cant move my schedule all the time...finally they did not call me back again.... so, I went there...the salon was nice but I was in surprise when I so a lady in the salon at 12 and she was already covered with bleach on his hair.....I mean they did the color to her...I thought the meeting was long and everyone will just arrive....they did not say to me a sorry word or something or thanks to move your schedule... I think I am a future client who needs to treat and is doesnt matter is she with groupon or not... the workers were just talking to eachother not too much work...I got a nice ladi Valeria, she really did a great job. Nobody asked me, do I need drink or something???so, I left the salon like...ok my hair is done but im sure I dont want to come back to here...

I did the cut and color on groupon so it was my first time there. I read the negative reviews but decided to go anyway. At first I thought oh boy when I first arrived bc the receptionist was outside on her cellphone chatting it up when I walked in and continued to hang out in front on the phone instead of doing her job. I found that a bit unprofessional especially since I use to be a receptionist at a well known salon in the city when I was in college. Her hair was in a messy bun and as a front desk person she should be more polished bc it is a hair salon and you set an example for the salon. Also she walked in these hight stripper stilletos which I found unprofessional as well. There was an older gentleman there that only spoke a little english who saw me waiting and rushed to get Mike and offered me coffee which was sweet. Overall the salon has a lot of potential. The cut, color and blow dry from Mike was good. It was darker than I expected but I was still happy with it. The only thing that bothered me about the hair was that on the right side of my scalp on the hairline the hair dye stained my skin and was very visible. The shampoo girl/assistant was sweet but she kept making too much noise with the hose every time she dropped it back in the sink.
