I am a new gun owner and Ron is a really nice guy he gave me a recommendation on what gun i should start off with but unfortunately he didn’t have any hand guns i liked so i went online and had the FFL transfer done here. Ron kept me up to date on when the gun will arrive and once it did he gave me call and we started the transfer. Once the gun arrived we Did the Background check took about 4 days and once it came back gave me a Call first thing in the morning which i really appreciate. Really looking forward to do more business with him. This is my go to place really honest guy and extremely nice.

Bought my first gun over here. Ron was able to negotiate a fair price for it and the order was within just a couple days. To save time, bring a good amount cash since card transactions can take more time than necessary. Overall, hope to do business again here soon

Ron provided excellent customer service. Very polite and friendly guy. Helped me find what i was looking for and even helped me filling out proper paper work for my purchase. I recommend this place for those looking for a firearm.

Dont waste your time. Not much of a selection. Was told they had an item in stock but wouldnt accept placing a hold over the phone. Called prior to leaving work to ensure item was still in stock, of course nobody answered phone after numerous attempts. Went out of my way with the trip anyway only to tell me the item was sold.

Friendly, and knowledgeable. Fair prices for guns, ammo, and repairs. Ive been trading here for about 15 years and never had a problem.

Ron is simply the best gunsmith in town 5 stars all the way and great service.

Ron and Paul were fantastic to deal with (My apologies to the third gent that was there for not remembering his name). Came in to ask a few questions and inquire if they can receive transfers. Perfect folks to deal with if you are not window shopping. Proud to be a Veteran supporting a Veteran owned business. Will be dealing with them solely in my area. Reminded me of my dads old shop in Yonkers. If you need to google questions to ask or just want to hold a firearm go get a bb gun at Walmart or go to an overpriced range and rent one. Was even referred to another shop in the neighborhood to pick up some more ammo. True hidden gem. But then again I am old school and have a backbone.

Paul was a great guy patient in explaining as I am a first time handgun owner. Forget about Ron, impatient, rude and unprofessional. He was shaking his head when I asked to check the box he was handing (more of tossed) me when I picked up my purchase. I bought my handgun for $649 which I regret as I found the exact same brand new one at $529 from another gun store. My advise is before you jump the gun (no pun intended) and do an impulse buy, shop around to find the best price. Would have given it one star if it weren’t for Paul.

Bergen Sporting Goods is a great place to purchase and learn about guns. Ron and Nancy are the most adorable couple of owners. Ron is very knowledgeable and honest in this business. You can ask and talk bout everything while at the shop. And if you are a cigar smoking sob, you are more than welcome. His prices are the lowest you may find. And his work on repairs is that of a Jedi Master. How do I know? Like finding a truly honest doctor or mechanic, you want to keep businesses like Rons rooted in the neighborhood. Since the first day I walked in, to the most recent visit, Ron and his wife always made me feel welcomed. If a Korean can feel comfortable in a gun store, you have stumbled upon a gem! (the people complaining about the cigar smoke, grow a pair and get over it! )

I bought my gun in this store and I just want to validate that all the positive reviews about this store were all TRUE. Theres no cold treatment in this store. Yes, the store is small but you deal with the owner! Yes he smokes but....... its better than a smoking gun! I definitely would recommend this place.

Very decent shop, nice owner. Folks called me right away when shipment was delivered and later that day when all paperwork was done, so I was able to pick up goods same day. Really nice experience.

Great local shop, knowledgable and very helpful. Rons ordered hard to find stuff that he knew that pretty much only I would be buying such as .54 cal barnes mz heads; and kept em in stock. Inventory is no worse than anyplace else at the moment. Highly recommended.

Ron was an incredibly easy-going, friendly guy to do business with. His knowledge is second to none and his location has a feeling of what is otherwise a lost generation of firearms shops in the US. you will enjoy visiting and becoming a patron of BSG.Also, I agree with everyone here about the cigars - Ron can do what he wants (chill out, man. hah).

Ron is great. He really educated me and if you dont see what youre looking for he can get it for you. Dont judge a book by its cover. The shop isnt fancy but you will be satisfied with the service. Hes a gunsmith and a really good one according to friends of mine who hes done work for. Hes a vet and I will continue to support a vet owned business.

If your looking for guns and ammo this place is great. Ron is a good guy and very knowledgeable about firearms. He will make you feel at ease and answer all you questions. I bought 2 guns my first time there. I highly recommend it.

Been going to this store for years and love dealing with Ron the owner. I’ve bought most of my pistols and all my long guns there. Don’t let the size of the store, the smallish selection, or the fact that Ron smokes cigars get to you. This is a gem of a place. Ron will take the time to talk to you, give you good advice and should you choose to buy from Ron...a good deal. Don is also an excellent gunsmith and does great work at a reasonable price. Once you start coming here you won’t be able to stay away.

Friends and family have been here to buy their guns for decades. Old man is super chill and willing to educate you, politely and without being condescending. Definitely will follow the tradition of my loved ones to buy arms here for protection and sport.

Ron is a great guy. Fellow Veteran and a very knowledgeable and skilled gunsmith. He earned my trust and I will be utilizing him for all my firearm needs moving forward. RTSP and Gun for Hire is way over priced and hyped with less personalized service. Yes, he likes to smoke cigars (one reviewer complained about and that is completely ridiculous.) Its his shop and a free country get over it!

Ron is a stand up, blue collar guy who has forgotten more about firearms than you and I will probably ever know. Hes honest and knowledgeable and takes the time to guide you to the options best suited for what youre looking for (ie: hunting, target shooting, home defense). If youre looking for a 30,000 Sq ft showroom than go to Cabelas in PA. If youre looking for a guy who will give you a fair price and limitless advice through the years, go to Ron.

This gun shop service stinks literately. The owner Ron is as rude as can be. He does not have a good selection of fire arms. Extremely high prices, and the worst customer service. They never have ammo in stock. I suggest you never go to this place. Someone needs to explain to the owner of this place that you can not smoke cigars or cigarettes in a business in the state of New Jersey.

I will shop no place but Bergen Sporting Goods because of the owner, Ron. Ive had some terrible experiences other places because the owners and workers are assholes that dont want to help you or answer questions.I brought my Fiance to his store and he took time out to explain guns to her and how to work them and helped her find one that fit her well. Ron is a very down to earth man and I look forward to going to his shop. If he doesnt have what you are looking for he can have it for you in a couple of days. Go check his store out before you go any other place.

I had my guns transferred thru Rons business a couple of years ago, a real honest gentleman, knowledgeable and very pleasant, very few people that you can trust in this business, he is on top of that list!

Ron has been my go-to guy for all my firearms purchases & gunsmithing needs. He is courteous and knowledgeable. He will make sure you don’t run afoul of NJ’s entrapment laws. If he doesn’t have what you’re looking for, he can usually find it thru his distributor partners.
