Staff was very rude and unhelpful. Nothing had prices on it, and we couldn’t even find a staff member to ask the prices. The items that did have price tags were considerably overpriced. This should not be in the thrift store category (or even the consignment shop category). Even though they weren’t closing any time soon, they turned off the lights in the one room and it was so dark that we couldn’t look at any one the clothing. We felt strongly that they didn’t want us there, even though we were giving them business. Very odd, uncomfortable, and unpleasant experience.

We love Shop Melee! They are a full service one stop shop. From home consignment to high fashion. Super friendly and professional to deal with, plenty of parking, easy location and a happy place to visit. Wouldnt look any further for great deals whether you are buying or selling or even interested in having an estate sale. They will take good care of you!

I have been a client of Shop Melee since they opened. This is an outstanding company run by people of integrity. Whatever the situation they make sure it always works out to the client’s advantage. The people are always available for and responsive to questions. As a consignee I appreciate the fact that they get top dollar for my things and yet as a buyer their prices are fair and affordable. I especially appreciate the fact that they guarantee the authenticity of everything they sell. Both as a seller and as a buyer you cannot find a better company with which to deal.

Louise and the team at Shop Melee did an amazing job for our estate sale! My Mother had 30+ years of stuff in her home including A LOT of collections. Additionally, they have been selling some of her searchable items on their ebay and shop melee sites. They are professional, know what they are doing, and have a good following of regulars that attend their sales. If you are moving and/or downsizing, they will make your life a lot less stressful. Even with some bumps we threw at them, they handled it professionally and went with the flow of what my Mother wanted to do - which I will always appreciate. Attend their sales for great deals on anything you need. Personally, I dont think I will ever buy furniture or housewares at retail prices again after seeing what people need to get rid of in order to move. Thank you, Thank you Shop Melee!!!

Chris is a joke! Ridiculous customer service skills. I attended as estate sale in hinsdale on saturday the 15th. Everything was amazing until i asked about a medicine ball rack. The rack had a sticker for $25... none of the balls on the rack had pricing. I of course wanted to double check so i asked a lady named denise for clarification. She asked chris and he stated each ball individually which doesnt make sense. When i went upfront another lady who was amazing said chris had told her yesterday it was the whole thing for $25.. today was half off meaning $12.50. Awesome ill take it. Denise of course follwed me around n heard n argued that no chris said separate and the lady said no yesterday he said all together. So they called chris over to clarify he had an attitude. Totally contradicted what he had said. N rolled his eyes and said $25 today im not giving you half off. WOW RUDE! Whatever i still wanted it. But just his vibe and denises was ridiculous. No need for that. So if your asking prices dont approach these 2 clowns because apparently it depends on their moods. There was no need for the bickering back and forth. Over all the company is amazing. Except these 2. I might be avoiding these estate sales from this company. seems like they had a power trip. You have my reciept feel free to call me whoever is in charge of these 2. Not surprised to see bad reviews on Chris previously! Also as i was waiting Chris of course was arguing with customers and giving attitude! Not surprised! How can you let an emotion hot mess like this run a buisness. You dont argue with customers you look very unprofessional.
