Although Dakota Unlimited was more expensive than most fence companies, I was assured that their quality and service would make it worth it. After the job was complete, I asked that they come back out to fix one of the walls as it wasnt straight. They came out and fixed it but it still wasnt straight. I told them that we are not entirely happy with the fence line but I think we can live with it. They decreased the final bill but didnt attempt to fix the line again. When reading a review, I think you ultimately want to know one thing: knowing what you know now, would you have picked Dakota Unlimited to install your fence? The answer to that question is no. The quality of the final product below average and we will not be choosing Dakota Unlimited for future work.

While we had no problems with the estimate process of the work, even was painless to send in changes after the fact. The installation of the fence was abysmal ... the installers knew that there was an irrigation system in the yard, all heads were flagged, indicating where the sprinkler lines were. Even explained that they would not be able to use their auger to dig the post holes because of the shallow lines. What did they use... yes they used their auger and cut several sprinkler lines and tore up a marked sprinkler head and then cemented over a sprinkler head and another line.The installers were careless and could have given two craps about the damage they had done. Now months later, spending quite a lot of money to have the irrigation system finally repaired. They didnt even offer an apology and no one from their offices did either after I complained with the exception in a short text with a copy of the agreement you did sign the area where we are held harmless for any damage to irrigation systems. No apology nothing. If that was explained in greater detail, I would not have signed that or used this company.

I purchased a condo and knew I would need additional storage. A number of other owners in my building had garage cages mounted above their stall. I have been in a LOT of condo/ apartment building over the years and have seen cages of all kinds. However, the building I purchased in had the best cages I had seen so I knew that I wanted the same kind.The contact at DU (Steve) was not the easiest to get a hold of to say the least... there was a lot of back and forth to get the custom piece ordered and it was frustrating being the only one following up and pressing for this sale. It was a 4-5 week lead time before delivery and install, which was fine and there was an issue with the scheduling. I would give this part of the review 3 stars.That being said, install day was great! Fred and Jose were fabulous! Fred worked me into his schedule since I needed a specific time, was very prompt with texting updates, and was right on time! The install took about 2 hours from start to finish and it looks great! Fred and Jose were great to work with- kind and professional. I would absolutely recommend them with 5 stars. Fred saved my experience with DU.Overall, good experience. Quality custom product.

Communication from the initial contact through out the project was excellent! The crew was on time, very professional, wanted everything exactly right! They also did a great cleanup job of the area when finished! Love the product! We will definitely use Dakota Unlimited again!

Dakota Unlimited is reputable and professional. They are not the cheapest, but the extra money is worth it. They make suggestions based on their wealth of knowledge and follow through with a solid product. For example, two days after the fence was installed, we had over 65 mph winds. In the morning, the fence was still perfect and straight as an arrow. In addition, Foreman Dan went above and beyond. His engineering skills, attention to detail, and solutioning exceeded every expectation. If I were Dakota, I would do everything in my power to keep him on the team because he is truly an asset!

These guys were great to work with. Everyone we worked with was professional and friendly. You get a real sense of a family run business and that they care about you, not just your cash. Communication was great, we were kept informed of what was happening the entire time. Installation was quick and painless and the fence looks AMAZING. Weve had so many neighbors comment on it with no prompt. Absolutely would recommend them to anyone.

Was a lot more difficult to get someone out to get a quote then it needed to be. Nobody showed up when I was scheduled to have someone out to even look at my yard.

Do not use this shady company! They gave a quote on fixing a damaged fence and I asked for the break down of it and they will not provide anything because they are over pricing everything and trying to scam customers. they refused to due the job when I asked for a break down of the quote they gave me and told me they will no longer due the work because of that! how shady is that!

It doesn’t get better than this company. I spent 4 months researching. 5 different quotes. I picked Dakota and once I did, an army showed up for my posts. An army showed up for my fence. Everything was A+ craftsmanship. Tony was my rep and had unbelievable customer service and consultation. If you see my review, please trust this company. End your search. This company is as pro as it gets.

Excellent service.

Our fence was just installed, and were very happy we went with Dakota Unlimited. We got a handful of quotes by companies all over the cities, and none compared to the quality of service received by Rick initially and the rest of the crew upon installation. Yes, Dakotas prices were quite a bit higher than the rest, but Im glad we spent the extra money to support a good company local to Rosemount. On installation day the crew showed up in the morning and after a quick chat with the Foreman, they were on their way. Everything went very smooth and the entire crew was pleasant to work with. I wouldnt ever hesitate to work with Dakota Unlimited again in the future.

I spent weeks researching various fence companies in the Twin Cities. After working with 3 sales reps from different companies, I still wasnt sold on any of them. I happened to hear about Dakota through word of mouth and checked their Angies Lists ratings. They by far had the best reviews of all the companies I dealt with. After I made contact for a free estimate, Rick called and scheduled a time to meet with me. Rick was knowledge about the products and was able to tell me a bit more about their competition and what Dakota could do for us. We were happy with the sales and follow up as we waited through the long winter that dragged through the spring. Jennifer at the Dakota office was on top of all scheduling and updates. She was great to work with. They also dealt with the city of Lake Elmo and their crazy rules and regulations they decided to implement this year when installing a fence. The week before install, a foreman was there as the city marked all of the lot lines and checked to make sure exactly what we wanted for the fence. Jennifer and also the main foreman on the crew contacted us the week and day of to let us know when to expect them. All members of the crew were courteous and hard workers. We are VERY happy w the look of the fence and super happy we chose Dakota Unlimited.

We just had our fence installed by Dakota and it is AMAZING. They went out of their way to ensure we got exactly what we wanted and we couldnt be more thrilled. From the day I got my quote to final inspection, Dakota Unlimited was timely and professional. I am extremely satisfied with their work and would recommend them for any fence needs!

I am more than happy to write a poor review when I see fit, but when other craftsmen/general contractors/ carpenters come over and say, Wow! Thats a work of art! and Amazing work!, I know every penny was worth it. For me, the fact that I did not have to babysit the workers for even a second was worth it. Dakota came out, took the measurements, gave me my options, and did the work. They were on time and 100% professional. DO NOT waste your time with anyone else!!

We absolutely loved this company. Once our names were on the list, it did take awhile to get the fence done, but it was well worth the wait. They got the fence done in a day and a half and were so courteous. They even used some left over dirt to help us refill holes my puppy had dug!

We moved into a home last year and the owners before us had a fence put in by Dakota unlimited a year or two prior. The lock no longer works properly and the doors do not line up correctly. The company will only help if I pay a $100 fee to come out and then pay for the work to be fixed. Super disappointed and would never recommend them.

Gotta say one of the best experiences we have had so far. With the amount of fence going in the ground and the weather I have to say what a class act. Thank goodness there are other companies that dont even call back and are less than honest in us finding Dakota Fence. From the first contact via phone first impressions are everything. Kudos to the non pressure from our sales rep Ron Miller to the help from Jennifer Brizius the whole experience thus far has been stellar. My wife and I are very happy with the whole process thus far and cant say anything but kudos again. From the foreman Dan and his crews what a professional and great bunch of guys. Absolutely phenomenal job done by the Dakota team. One of the owners, Chuck, visited all three days that the fence tear down and fence install was happening. We had a very big job, vinyl Lexington fence 360 degrees around our city lot, with four gates installed. When installing, one of the workers hit the electric line running underground from the house to the garage; Dakota hired an electrician to fix it at no cost to us. Phenomenal customer service and very satisfied homeowners (and neighbors). Job well done and would recommend Dakota to anyone. Make sure to ask for the Angies List discount.

Took 14 weeks to get them out paying at the time of contract, they were not informed on how to deal with easements on our property or unwilling to tell us in order to make he sale, told us they would be out to put gates onto the fence and did not show up on time leaving us unable to use the fence for our dogs. When I called to ask when the gates would be put in I was rudely told that there is no schedule when installing gates. This company operates on their own schedule and disregards their customers. Will not recommend this overpriced fence option to anyone else.

Very helpful staff. They answered my questions with good information and if they didnt know or had a less than stellar opinion on a product they still answered honestly.

They put in a fence 14 years ago. It is still in great shape. The owner, Chuck, has come out himself to make adjustments to the gate because we have terrible drainage and the frost heaving in the area is awful. The only fence company I would ever use! A+++++

These guys are nuts. On 9/5/15 at 9:30 PM on Hwy 694 the Dakota Unlimited pickup truck pulled up behind me about 2 inches from my rear bumper with its bright lights on. Then the Dakota Unlimited truck passed me and then swerved to cut me off. The pickup then swerved back and forth across three lanes while the driver hung out the window giving everyone the finger as he swerved back to the right and went down Hwy 35E.

We were not impressed with the level of communication and the customer service we received during the process, but the fence overall looks great and does the job.

If you say youre gonna show up for an estimate and dont then I have nothing else to go off.

We had Dakota fence install a very expansive wood fence at out house, and at first the customer service was excellent. After we had some concerns and a call back to fix some problems the installer became belligerent and confrontational.The fence needed to follow a hill in the alley and when they installed the gate, we couldnt open the gate as it drug on the alley. He didnt think that was a problem. The fence boards were bowed, and he didt think that was a problem. The double gated didnt line up and again that wasnt a problem in his eyes. As of today the gated dont line up. We are on a corner lot with a lot of traffic and have people stoping to take pictures and ask us who installed our fence. What do you think we tell them?
