We were so happy with the quality AND price of the end result from Cantu Nursery and Landscape. Our project was especially challenging, because we needed to build a firepit in an existing well where a tree had to be removed after it died. The well was quite a bit bigger than a normal firepit, but the mason made it work, and it looks beautiful. Now Im just mad we waited so many years to do this!

For a small piece of land, this place is packed with plants and trees, including a huge selection of palms and a good selection of succulents and drought tolerant plants. The prices are similar (and in many cases better) to some of the other nurseries Ive been to. The staff is very friendly and helpful, and it hasnt been too crowded during the times Ive gone. I have purchased from them twice recently and I plan to continue to be a customer!

We have hired Cantu Landscaping to build stone flower beds around our pool back in March. I wanted to wait for a few months before writhing this review just to make sure that there a no issues / problems with the quality of work which may not immediately surface. I cant say it enough: we ABSOLUTELY LOVE the beds! They turned out much better looking than weve even imagined. We entertain around the pool quite a bit, and we have yet to have a guest who hasnt been wowed by the look of the beds and stunned by the night and day difference those beds made to the overall appeal of our yard. It really changed the look of our backyard from a pretty *plain Jane* - average-blend yard with a pool, into a little tropical paradise. Though the project took few days longer than anticipated (mostly due to the weather), and there were few very minor challenges (nothing one wouldnt have expected from a large project like that), the end result turned out to be beautiful, and the cost of the project was THE MOST competitive out of 4 (!!!) other companies weve interviewed. What also impressed my husband and I, was the fact that even though Mr. Cantu had a project manager working onsite with the team, he came to check on the progress pretty much daily (accompanied by his fabulous dog Luna :-) ) and made sure that things are going smoothly. We are very pleased with the look, quality and the cost of the work Cantu Landscaping has done for us, and would highly recommend this company to others.Thank you for such a great job Luis!!!PS: Since picture is worth a thousand words, Im attaching couple of pictures. Please do not advertise services if you are unwilling to actually offer them. I requested a quote for landscaping work. Did not hear back. Followed up after two weeks. Oh so sorry, we forgot Ill get you a quote by end of day. Nothing. I understand if you are busy or the work I need done is not sufficiently large but just say so directly and do not waste weeks of both our time as I wait for the privilege of giving you my money and business, only to receive a dismissive attitude and no response.

I have used Cantu for two projects and they have been absolutely fantastic. They installed some beautiful palms this spring and some rostratas. I am very pleased with their work and pricing. It was hard in to find Sylvester Date Palms in Austin but Cantu made a special order and had some delivered. Work done in March 2019. We wanted an immediate, tall and narrow evergreen screen along the fence with neighbor in order to block view and add a lush backdrop for our yard. Unlike certain “tree” companies in the area, the Cantus were interested and able to advise on possible species, availability and appropriateness for soil, light and location, and had no problem finding plenty of beautifully nourished, mature laurelcherries already 7 – 8 ft which fit the bill perfectily. They also built a low wall to enclose the laurelcherry bed and wrap around our elevated back yard beds, which also defined and protected our lawn from the crazy runoff we have. They did a spectacular job of it all, as pictures attest – (1) before, (2) immediately after, and (3) 4 months later. I think the price was fair for the maturity and condition of the gorgeous laurelcherries and tough work.They set a the elevation and location of the laurelcherry bed exactly as we wanted it relative to fence height and the slope of our yard’s drain-way, with proper, unobrustive drainage holes out of the wall, containing wall across the back fence, weed barrier, new lovely soil and mulch. My only dissatisfaction, part my fault, is that during installation of the trees perhaps a little better communication with me would have been helpful to make sure placement of trees is what I wanted, and I am lucky I came home from work to check on progress in time to correct some placing issues even though it meant moving a couple of the trees although they were close to finishing; we decided to order one additional tree to complete the screen. We had to get a replacement tree for that new one because it wasn’t on the same scale and density as the existing ones but they found another matching one at no charge and all was well. The pictures provided are (1) before, (2) immediately after, and (3) 4 months later, the screen being almost filed in completely. We are securing the Cantus now for a small xeriscape bed along a new fence and plan to have them again to do a large chunk of our front yard in xeriscape, one of their specialties.

I cannot say enough about this company. My husband and I are beyond pleased with the results. We had a French drain installed, a stone patio, and landscape design in the front and back yard. The crews were courteous, professional, efficient, and friendly. And, the pricing was fair and competitive. We will be calling them for any future projects we have.

If you are looking for honest, knowledgeable and fair landscaping and tree supply, this is THE place to go in Austin. I went to the competitor first which is a big chain and the prices were literally 5-10x as high. I bought two different types of palm trees here and they were able to answer all my questions and help me pick out the best options for my situation. The delivery team was a amazing too. It was a tough task getting two very large palm trees into my back yard but they pulled it off and were very friendly. Will be back to purchase more trees in the future!

We loved using Cantu Nursery for our backyard landscaping. Theyre knowledgable, efficient, very transparent with regards to scheduling and working within our budget. We are looking forward to having them complete the rest of the landscape through out our property!

We had our backyard updated with new planter bed borders, extended our cement patio, and a stone seating wall. All of them look so great! The work was done quickly and they crews always cleaned up everything afterward. I highly recommend hiring Cantu Nursery and Landscape if you are wanting to add any beautiful landscape or hardscape to your yard.

I purchased a new home and wanted to add a outdoor kitchen and large patio. Mr. Cantu and his team were a pleasure to work with but more importantly built a beautiful and functional space. My new outdoor kitchen and patio is the centerpiece of my yard and I get many compliments on it. They did an excellent job for me and I highly recommend them.

I stopped into Cantu Nursery today to get a quote for 1 live oak tree relocation and 5 new trees with delivery, labor and additional tree bubblers installed and their quote was very fair. Several trees were on sale, 7 gallon to 15 gallon trees, for less than $100. They also do raised beds and retaining walls. Everything looked very lush, green, and healthy. Plus they offer a 10% military discount on trees/plants (Not on labor or delivery). Will update review once trees are installed but overall good experience so far.**Update March 2021: Install was quick and easy, they came back out to install additional tree stabilizers due to the high wind in my front yard. Have one tree in the back that might not make it but hoping to save it this summer with a little TLC. Overall very happy with the experience.

Everything was fabulous with Cantu Nursery and Landscape company. We designed together a plan for our yard after the pool was put in. They were efficient and quick with getting things done. They were very tuned in to what we wanted and wanted to make sure we were happy with everything. Norma was absolutely incredible, she gave the personal touch and it became more like a friendship, rather than someone working for you. I would highly recommend this company!

2020: based on our past experience with Cantu, we purchased 6 more trees, 2 are palms and 5 bushes and had them installed. These folks are great to work with, Gaby. Luis, and the install people make it easy to select and install. They answer any question and make suggestions about the best plant or tree for our yard, if needed. I give them the highest recommendation possible. 5 star service and 5 star people.2018: A year later, back again. These people are the best, advising, great selection, and very friendly. Gaby and Nora made us feel like they were there to answer questions and advise about what plants would work best in our yard, and they were right. Another nursery recommended them when they did not have what we wanted, and Cantu did. Also, Robert was very helpful and informative about some trees we were looking at, a good guy. They have called us and said we can get the same thing we bought last year, but it is smaller, leaving the decision to us, and we bought it. It worked out great. Go see these folks for your planting needs, if they dont have it in stock they will order it for you if possible.2017: Friendly staff, Gaby is very easy to work with. Her installers did a good job of planting a huge pindo palm, very heavy, and it looks great. I would recommend them to anyone looking for healthy palms and other plants, friendly staff, and good installation.

We had our driveway extended, backyard patio, and landscaping done by Cantu, and love everything they did. Mr. Cantu had a knack for knowing what our vision was. In fact, while on a walk, my husband and I took a picture of the front yard of a house that showed exactly what we wanted. We brought the picture in, and it turned out to be the Cantu home!

Over the past 6 months, Cantu Nursery has delivered and planted 20 palm trees ranging from 4 to 9 tall in our backyard. They were very careful and professional each time they planted the trees and even made extra trips to check on and trim the trees. We plan to add a few more palms this fall to complete our little Paradise. We couldnt be more satisfied with our experience with Gaby, and Ramone and his crew.

I stopped by here to look at California fan palms. The guy told me they don’t sell them because they don’t survive. He told me he had another palm similar which was the Mexican fan palm. I know a good amount about palms and Mexican fan palms are not as cold hardy and don’t do well in this part of Texas. The plants and trees there looked really bad, most uncared for. I looked at a couple prices there and they were extremely high.

I have used Cantu Nursery since moving to Pflugerville almost ten years ago. After Jose-Luis & family took over, the quality of the nursery stock and service improved 1000%. I have used them for buying/planting palms, landscaping, and tree trimming. I continue to go to Cantu. My most recent project was reviewed by Norma, who was very knowledgeable and friendly. The work was performed on schedule and budget. There are not a lot of knowledgeable palm tree nurseries in northern Austin, but Cantu can help avoid costly mistakes when trying to choose cold-hardy palms/tropicals. Highly recommended.

Great selection of trees and shrubs!

My wife and I have had repeatedly bad customer service experiences with the older lady that seems to run the place. Recently, we walked in on a Sunday and started browsing the palm trees and plants. There were probably 10-12 other customers walking around as well. This lady sees us and yells were closed, you need to get out!!. Mind you, we were only about 6 feet away from her when she began yelling irately. I told her that were very sorry but the entrance was wide open and that there were several other would-be customers walking around. She yelled again and said, No, the gate was locked and were closed so get out!. She proceeded to try and shove my shoulder as my wife and I walked out. What a confusing and frustrating experience. Needless to say, they have lost our business permanently because of our repeated experiences with this lady. Thats a shame because weve spent a LOT of money there over the years. No more. Never more.

The Folks at Cantu Nursey and Landscape were excellent, they took our vision and made it a reality. We cant wait to start our next project with them.

Worse than the cable company.I had tried to buy a couple of trees, and have them planted.I was the first to sign up on the scheduled date of install (there were no conflicts). I was under the impression that my install would be the first of the day. Come that day I received a call late in the morning saying that the crew would be by after they finished a couple of other jobs. Sat around all day waiting until early evening when they called to say the crew was held up and wouldnt make it that day. Rescheduled for 2 days later, and specifically requested that I be the first job of the day. This was agreed to. After sitting around all morning, I called and found out that they were doing another job instead of mine, and would be by sometime later. At this point I was out a day and a half of work waiting. Order was canceled. Only a meek apology was offered.

Cantu did our landscaping around our new pool. They built 3 very nice flower beds and filled one of them with palm trees. They did excellent work and were a joy to work with. I would highly recomend them amd they will definitely be my first call on the next project.

Just had a horrible experience at Cantu. My wife and I purchased 3 plants from there but 2 died. We planted them correctly and minimized the water per the instructions. When i complained and provided pictures, they said it was probably something we did even though based on our discussion, it was obviously not. These will be the last plants purchased from there.Back to the Red Barn nursery we go!
