My partner and I really enjoyed Kuma. I got chocolate ice cream with rainbow mochi, Oreo and ube sauce. My partner got chocolate ice cream with peanut butter cereal, Oreo and chocolate sauce. The warm waffle was a great touch to this already great dessert. I tell everyone I know to go and try it for themselves. Btw, no indoor eating.
The marshmallow was perfectly toasted on this thing!!! Everything else was equally delicious, my daughter and I split one and it was a ton of food, will definitely be back soon. The young lady who helped us out was great and everything tasted fresh. Had the chocolate ice cream with sprinkles, marshmallow, chocolate, and cinnamon toast crunch toppings with caramel sauce. So many different combinations possible :)
My experience here was soooo amazing! This place makes the cutest and delicious creations! You choose all of your toppings and ice cream and they have actual waffles for the cone. The ingredients are all fresh because they are so busy theres no way for anything to go stale. If you go at a busy time expect to wait about fifteen minute, and theres unlikely to be anywhere to sit but that was no problem for us. 10/10 would recommend.
Place was good, different than what Im use too. First time going so didnt really know what combinations to go with, cashier wasnt much help, but figured it out, icecream was good, fruit and waffle cone were so amazing! Also no where to sit,as only had like 6chairs or so which was inconvenient. However overall would try it again.
The ice cream was good. You get plenty of it. I really like the extraordinary twist they put on serving the ice cream cone. 1 waffle, 2 scoops of ice cream, 4 toppings and 1 sauce for only $7.50 is a good value. The place is very small inside, only one table and about 10 chairs. People had to stand up to eat.. would have given 4 stars if there was more seating.
Delicious ice cream and a really fun food to eat. Having to order via proxy while standing in the heat trying to read hand written paper menus taped to the window with the sun glaring in your eyes is the only reason I didnt give 5 stars. The experience was awful but the food was great.
I honestly think this was really overwhelming. If you have appreciative kids or friends and you want to go somewhere for the aesthetic, this is your go to. If I was going somewhere for just a dessert or some ice cream in general, I don’t think I could recommend this again. I wanted to go for the ice cream and it was so sweet it made me a little sick. I loved the direction they took with their inner decor and it’s genuinely a GREAT PLACE FOR A DATE. I loved going here with my significant other and it really lightened the mood, but other than that I wouldn’t say that I’d go here for the sweets.
So this place looks like a little bit of a hole in the wall, but dont let it fool you the ice cream is really good. I had their chocolate ice cream and I got to choose for toppings. The waffle that comes with it is so good. It was soft and warm and just delicious and goes great with the ice cream and toppings. I would give this place 5 stars except that it seemed a little dirty in some parts.
We decided to come here after a friend of mine kept posting pictures of this place. We went later around 6 or 7pm last night and it wasnt crowded. The Ramen place next was super packed. But I brought my kids to try this place. $7.50 for the ice cream with 4 topping is not bad what so ever. The ice was really good with the bubble cone. I will say it did take me a minute to decide what toppings. I went sorta plain and did not get a sauce on top but it was still great!
This Ice Cream shop is a delightful change of pace from the ordinary. Regular ice cream flavors with colorful names and some exotic flavors are a good start. You get 4 candy toppings (which are plentiful) to add and 1 flavored topping. Service is excellent and there is also a small menu of drinks to choose from.
The treats themselves are tasty. No customer while i was there had a cross word to say about the eats. However everyone had the same complaints about the lack of seating (indoor or outdoor) and no way to wash hands. Kids (and adults) get messy eating sweets. That last one worries me about the staff being able to wash up or wash the utensils. Maybe there is one behind the partition, but nothing for customers and nothing visible.
Ive been here a few times now and every time, even when popped to the brim with people, the customer service has been on spot and fast. They give small samples if youre unsure of what tastes good. The only con Ive ever had with them is how small the place is, which cant be helped. Definitely a cool place to go if you want a different kind of sweet treat.
So good and yummy! The ice cream is around 7 dollars and some change and you get to choose 4 toppings and a sauce to go on top. I got the green tea ice cream and it was super yummy. They also have pistachio, strawberry cheesecake and about 5 other choices. Usually a line outside the door but you dont wait long. They ever let you sample the ice creams. Highly recommend. 😊
Absolutely delicious and was affordable and fast. Will come again. We all got a different ice cream and we all loved them!
You scream I scream we all get slightly louder for Kuma and their ice cream. This place is really tasty and unique putting their own spin on ice cream, they also have this blue drink with glitter in thats delicious. Its like they have a unicorn in back that they are pleasuring for that extra something special in the taste and they have a great neon sign you have to read to believe. Its sound life advice to compliment this life changing heaven. I have a pic but didnt include it so you have to go and try it yourself for the experience and delicious frozen delicacy that makes people with lactose intolerance question their decision.
Less than half the regular menu being available definitely effected the experience.
Love it but there needs to be more flavors and more toppings.. especially for how much they are.
We showed up at 7:30 and they were out of cones. We watched at least 10 people be turned away. Please consider not hiring slackers who want to close before closing time!
The only reason we waited was because of the indecisive people in front of us holding up the line. In less than fifteen seconds after I paid for my cone someone else handed it over the counter before the people in front of us had been served. They’re incredibly fast and friendly and it was a delicious first for me. A great place for dessert after the ramen place next door. The interior could use some TLC but the food rocks!
OMG !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! This is just HORRIBLY TERRIFYING TERRIFIC :)))))))))))))) No restrooms but who cares !!!!!! Order & take out !!! Place is very smallish BUT who cares !!!!! Come & see & order for yourself the Pride of De Zavala Rd & Babcock Rd !!!! Your biggest problem . . . . . Trying to figure out what you want :)))))))))
I love when creative meets ice cream. And this place gets it. An ice cream shop with an Asian twist.Your ice cream and toppings are wrapped in a Hong Kong egg waffle. Having been to Hong Kong, I saw so many street food vendors selling these egg waffles. Never got to try it and who would have thought it would be here in San Antonio! Haha.Choose your ice cream, from Unicorn flavor to Plum wine, to plain old vanilla or chocolate. Choose 4 toppings. The toppings are asian-ified, like mochi or green pocky (thin breadsticks dipped in cream flavor, at least thats how I would describe Pockys). You can also get sprinkles or almonds, etc. Then you choose your sauce: caramel, strawberry, chocolate, or condensed milk. It might be a little pricy but you get that from a new mom and pop shop. $7.50 each.I gave it 4 stars and not 5, because my friends and I came to a consensus aaaaand...the ice cream to egg waffle ratio is disproportionate, more waffle, not much ice cream. Sad face. But the Hong Kong egg waffles are fluffy and yummy, and goes great with ice cream!
Talk about a unique place! My sister recommended them after seeing them on Instagram and I definitely wasnt disappointed. They have some awesome ice cream for a really great price, especially considering the amount you get. Not to mention each cone gets 4 toppings! And they also have some pretty fantastic drinks as well. It is a pretty awesome place (plus the sign on the wall is hilarious)
These guys are amazing! Went to visit them in San Antonio, the power went out as soon as I started to order. They shut the place down soon after, but still served me and others as long as they could. Thats customer service! The dessert was delicious, the staff was wonderful, and it made for a very exciting visit! Thank you again, you definitely made the trip worth it ;)
We have been going to Kuma since they opened and loved it from the beginning but this last time we were very disappointed in the service we received. My sister cant have the waffle due to an allergy so she usually gets the single serve option. Unfortunately, on this last visit the staff said they could not do the single serve. We mentioned the allergy and that we had gotten it that way before without a problem. We were still paying the same amount but the only difference was that they served the ice cream and toppings in a cup instead of the waffle. They still refused, saying it had to have a waffle no matter what and that it was a new company policy. We were extremely disappointed so we left. Since they were all employees we hadnt seen before we thought that maybe they didnt know about the option and decided to try the other Kuma location. There we asked for the single serve and they said no problem. We mentioned what the other location had said and they said it was weird because its still an option. Happy with the new location and severely disappointed with the Babcock one. Ive included an image of the single serve we did receive at the second location.
Its always a delight to go here! Such an amazing variety of ice cream and toppings. One really cool thing is that you can ask for them to surprise you if you are unsure of which toppings to choose from. They always seem concerned about your food allergies too, which seems nice.
They have like 3 ice cream flavors so if you dont like cookies and cream, chocolate or cookie dough youre out of luck lol
Love the service and the ice cream quality is great, delicious and very full of flavor.
The waffle was super light and airy! Definitely my favorite part! There was a line of about 7 people out the door but it went by extremely fast. Since its a DIY toppings wise, Im assuming experiences and flavors vary wildly. The ice cream was good, nothing out of the ordinary. They do have a ton of combinations ( 5+ ice cream flavors, 10ish toppings, + more things like that coffee shot in the picture). I would share for sure, especially if watching calories
Great afternoon treat! I love the Lychee tea and my daughter liked the bubble waffle cone. It was recommended by a friend and we will definitely be back.
Delicious ice cream, the egg waffle makes it so much better, and my personal favorite lychee ice cream is pretty unique, I am fairly certain it has actual lychee in it, the price is well worth it in my opinion! It does make a great instagram picture, but the combination is just so good and there is a list of toppings you can choose from (mini mochi is my pick) and you can choose up to 4 along with a sauce of your choosing.Certainly worth visiting and trying!
The ice cream was great, the waffle was amazing, and the staff was very courteous and helpful. Everything felt very well handled for pandemic restrictions too
Its good, but not great. Limited parking, located in a strip mall, no indoor service right now and no outdoors eating.
So yummy and such a fun spot! My son and I went for an after school snack and it was perfect! Highly recommend the unicorn ice cream. We will be back!
Overpriced, seemed a bit unorganized. and there wasnt much for seating. So the board had the flavors, toppings And sauce. But no recommendations on what to combine. The ice cream also melted real quick due to the warm waffle and it dripped down the bottom onto our clothes. Maybe a better way to line the waffle holder.
