Came here for the first time today to grab breakfast to go on my way to work. I walked in and immediately appreciated the simplicity of the decor. It reminds me of the diners my family would stop at while on vacation when I was a child. Lots of booths and tables inside and outside seating as well.The staff were very friendly and I quickly placed my order. The food came out quickly and I was on my way to work. It looks and smells good, and I think I’m going to be on time!! I will add to this review after I eat the food 😊
It has been years since eating here and even though the ownership has changed the service was friendly and the food was yummy like it was for decades. I tried their California Chicken Breast sandwich on sourdough. While I wasnt too sure when I saw it on the plate, it was delicious!! Grilled juicy chicken breast, cheese, avocado, sliced pickles, lettuce, tomato on toasted sourdough bread. You wont be disappointed.
Pretty good old school restaurant diner. I tried the Denver Omelette, eggs were done just right; I wanted for better American cheese. Hashbrowns were good. I ordered Biscuit and Gravy instead of toast. Portions were a good size. Service was good. Overall pretty good. Mens bathroom could use a remodel. Parking could be a challenge on weekends.. (no problem for me on a Monday visit) Right on the heart of North Park.
They will literally harass about parking and insist you pay them an arbitrary amount instead of paying the machine. Is that even legal? No thanks. Turned me off from this place forever.Why don’t you make money off running a good business instead trying to scalp people for parking???
The owners are super nice as well as the waitresses. They really do an amazing job. Its the best neighborhood diner for us!
Better than expected! We ordered the crispy French toast, egg and sausage combo, and pancakes. Id rather support a small business than a national chain.

Decided to try this place after I saw all the positive reviews and I don’t know how it got so many. The ranch is horrible DO NOT order if you like ranch at all. The food wasn’t very good at all. We were there for about a hour and a half and more people came in to pay for the offered parking than to eat the food.
Ok this place looked a bit run down and shady in the beginning but dont ever judge this book by its cover. My food was perfect and perfect was the flavor. The staff was extremely friendly and accommodating and the price was unbeatable. Im on the Keto diet and I always complain about my portions not being enough but this was a perfect portion of food. My kids loved it, my wife loved it and my pockets loved it.
Quality food and it comes out in timely manner. They are very kind with the portion size as well. This place is the epitome of BEST BANG FOR YOUR BUCK. All of the employees there are very friendly and more than helpful. I love sharing my mornings here.

We were the only black people in the place and did not get served. 2 other tables (white people) which were seated after us got served. The server never even said hello or looked at us when she passed by our table until I said hello. Didn’t offer us drinks or say we will be with you shortly. We left after waiting at our table for 10 minutes, never was even handed a menu. Would never recommend this place to anyone. This was on April 10th, 2021 at 10:45 AM.
After 8am Mass and Rosary at Saint Patricks, Sister Joy and I headed to a terrific breakfast place, North Park Diner, where you walk in and seat yourself when the morning rush ends.Sofia, our attentive server, was gracious. Sister Joy and I ordered the specials. My veggie omelette was fluffy and steaming with the right amount of vegetables! My entire breakfast cost 8.99 plus tax and tip! I selected sour dough with jelly and fruit of cantaloupe, melon, and pineapples that all accompanied the omelette. Sister Joy ordered the Denver omelette.For two, the entire check with tip amounted to $24🍇🍈🍉🍊🍋Plenty of parkingAfter 10am today Tuesday 12/18/18, we shared the diner with a few other diners.There is a framed newspaper article from 11 years ago and Sister Joy is in the article sitting in the same seat she sat in today!I enjoy North Park, San Diego where there is good tradition!Our Lady of Good Success, triumph and reign! typed Friday 7/19/19
I was visiting a friend in San Diego and came across this diner. Loved it. Ive always wanted to be a regular at a diner like this and I could totally see myself coming here all the time (if I didnt live across the country of course). But the food was great, service was awesome and restaurant was clean and tidy. All you need in a diner setting. I was also able to watch Lord of the Rings since it was late too....I mean cmon.

The place is like Dennys environment but abiy worse...not recommended. Need lots of improvement. They have outdoor seating and several indoor seating. We sat inside. I went to meet friends that are long time goer of here based on prior owner. I bought sampler appetizers but was fully breaded and very oily.

My family goes here all the time. My kid loves the Mickey Mouse pancakes. Everything Ive ordered has been delicious. Good serving sized dishes. Theres a parking lot right next to their entrance. Perfect place for a weekday breakfast. The crab cake Benedict is very tasty.

Wow, we werent expecting our meals to be this Delicious. What hidden gem this place is! Ive lived in North Park for 11 years and would pass this by a few times a week. Today was our lucky day. The waitress was phenomenal and accurate. The chef put love on a plate and our stomachs are happy as clams. We will be back.The outside doesnt do the inside any favors but the food and drink puts other flavors in your mouth that are exciting and inviting for all. Dont pass this place by, again. Go in and see for yourself. And Enjoy.

Food was good, especially French toast and pork chops. Ate in once, wait staff was friendly, food delivered quickly. Decor was outdated but lots of booths. I wasnt there for the ambience. To-go orders were hot and fresh. Homestyle food, not spicy at all which is good for me.
Pie & coffee. Im often found on Sunday nights at the bar. I dont drink. But this place serves alcohol too. Good food great wait staff. Locals know the history behind this place.
My preferred spot for American food. certainly a top place in the area. ive had nothing but enjoyable experiences here and plan to keep visiting. it has a great interior. my apartment is far from here, so i cant visit often.

The mozzarella sticks are tops! I love coming here because its usually quiet, never crowded and they have the science channel on all the time. This restaurant has changed hands many a times, but the food has always been great. Never been disappointed eating here. This is a great diner off the hustle and bustle of North Park.
The food is good enough for what youre paying and theres plenty of it. My server was quick and polite, but straight to the point which might be why others think theyre rude. I understand theyre doing tough job and they do it well. When the food comes out five minutes after you order it theres no room for complaining. All this to say, its an exemplary diner, Ill definitely be back.

My group of friends and I were originally in an hour long wait for a different restaurant on University. While we waited, we walked around and found this diamond in the rough. We got in immediately! There were SO many options and it was all amazing. We all got something different: waffles, burgers, omelettes, Patty melts, etc and we all loved it and are so glad we didnt stick with the original place. Service was a little slow, they could probably use another waiter/waitress, but ours was very friendly and doing her best to accommodate all of her tables, so no real complaint there. I absolutely would come back.
I LOVE this place. Amazing corned beef hash. Fantastic veggie burger!! Great, quick service. VERY reasonable prices for straightforward, delicious food. The corned beef hash will change your life. I would wholeheartedly recommend this place for a number of reasons, but mostly I feel sad that its a little bit out of the public line of sight because its just such a find. If youve never tried corned beef hash, this is the place to try it. Oh and they have beer!! But I am really a little bit addicted to the corned beef hash (weeeeell maybe a little addicted is an understatement.)
Their ribs are the best! I always have enough leftovers to take home.
Food is good diner food, but theyre not rewriting the book on anything.The coffee is really quite good. Parking is plentiful, and you never have to wait for a table. Thats really the main reason we go.The decor is fine, but that bathroom desperately needs to be put out of its misery!

This place has had numerous owners of the business but has maintained the feel of an old fashioned American diner. The quality of food and service has withstood the passing of time. I have been a customer for 22 years and still enjoy coming in. One of San Diegos treasures!

Cafe food that includes an all day breakfast and daily specials. Food is ok, but not anything special. Service was good and restaurant had about 6 people on a Monday at 6PM. Looks like this might be typical. They do have their own parking lot and parking was super easy.
I spent more there for a simple, yes tasty, sausage patty and eggs meal. Breakfast is served any time. I could spend around the same amount at Breakfast Republic and something much, much more delicious.
So far the best place ive eaten at sense moving to san diago, i had the paul bunyan burger and fries with a water, everything was fresh. I came with a group of friends and my husband and had a great time.
I love this place and people come and visit me this is where I take them it is quiet they have their own parking which is absolutely rare in North Park the portions are huge Cobb chicken salad has always been intimidatingly large. They have excellent ranch dressing

Expensive for a dinner but it’s the only one in North Park and it’s still dinner prices comparatively. Have all the basics nothing super special. I do the love the waffle special. Still gave 5 stars because it’s old school dinner in North Park and it’s bomb compared to bougie restaurants. They can fit vey large parties with awesome booths.
