Found this place through renting a violin for my kids music program at school. They were very kind and helpful through the entire process. When we encountered an issue they repaired the bow extremely fast while we waited. They have a great selection of brass & string instruments as well as the necessary supplies to go along. I even picked up a guitar cable for myself and the price was excellent.

I have been playing instruments for over 10 years now and I will say that this place has helped me through my student years. The workers are very kind and are very helpful with information about music or instruments depending on what they play. I mainly took my instrument here for repairs and routine check ups. For woodwinds at least they work with a proven technician who has done instrument repair for many many years. They charge a bit more than he would if you took it straight to him since he lives and works in Santee but he does amazing work. He would call me and explain what the issue was and possible fixes with their price tag and would explain the cons of each one as well. Would highly recommend this place for all your music needs.

Everyone that works here is extremely friendly and helpful, and goes above and beyond what people at other music stores do to help their customers. If they dont have what you need in stock, they can even special-order what you need. They always have what I need, and now I come here for all of my music needs. I would 100% recommend them to anyone looking for lessons, mouthpieces, sometimes instruments, repairs, and professional cleanings.

Although not teaching there anymore, Rob Totty was an amazing guitar mentor. I went to him for about 3 years through high school and he taught me most of what I know today. Everyone who works in the store is very knowledgeable and laid back. My go-to place for restocking my guitar strings. May go back for piano lessons one day!

Nice people however, I brought my flute in a got it repaired for 75+ tax. It works decently for a few days, and then guess what? It stops working, same problem and everything! I am so upset about this. I thought they were supposed to repair it completely. Not temporarily fix it. Consider going elsewhere for flute repairs.

Ive been coming to Nick Rail Music since I was a freshman in Del Norte highschool (Currently a college freshman) and Ive always been super happy with the service I recieved there. After graduating highschool I bought my own tuba (a second hand Bb Musica) which needed a lot of work done on it. The brass tech Daniel does PHENOMINAL work! He gave me a very fair price to do some serious work on my tuba and I couldnt be more happy with the results. All the staff are very friendly and I always feel at home coming to the shop. I can gladly say that Nick Rail wil continue to my instrument repair shop of choice for as long as I am living in the area!
