A must if you have the time to stop, slow down and have a chat with the wonderful owner, proprietor, publicist and janitor Mary. She is a genuine character with a heart of gold who always sees the good in people and the wonder in the world. Make certain to ask her about the shootout (for real) that occurred here and if you’re lucky she’ll even show you some of the bullet holes. Her liverwurst, onion and mustard on rye bread surpasses any I’ve ever had in either New York or Los Angeles! Y’all come back now, ha hear?

Mary, the owner, is one of the most interesting and caring people Ive ever met. Every time I go by, I stop in for a sandwich and a conversation. I love this place.
