I signed up to take an art class at the local community college and went to Lenz Arts to get supplies. As I walked in, I was greeted by a couple of people who asked if I needed any help. I sure did! The sales person Sierra was friendly and extremely helpful and was able to round up all the supplies I needed. This place is great!

I love supporting local businesses, especially artists, and go here frequently for supplies for my work. Last time I went my husband and I met Andy Lenz himself, and had a really good chat with him. Super nice guy, helpful and friendly staff, good options for supplies.

I love how Lenz Arts was the first art store in Santa Cruz to open during the pandemic. They exercised all necessary precautions and continue to do so to protect their workers and the local community. They also have most everything you would ever need as an artist, including great framing services. Cant thank them enough. I love my local art store!

Ive never been here before which is almost a sin in my opinion for being born and raised here in Santa Cruz. I went in for an easel and fine paint brush with no idea what was available or the lay of the shop, usually this is intimidating for me so I will order online instead if possible. I chose to go into the store since it was close to closing time and I was immediately greeted by a young man to see if he could help me find what I needed. He was such a gem he helped me pick out an affordable easel within minutes! Im so pleased with my purchases I will definitely be back again! 5 🌟 customer service

The service is nice and the store has a pretty good range of options between drawing and painting. They also have a good assortment of different brands along with a few cheaper alternatives. Thanks to getting some of their cheaper paint, I was able to paint up this quick gift for a friend

We looked at easels. What a collection! Lenz has the easel youre looking for. And while theyre packed into the corner, you can wiggle things around and get hands on the one you want to test.

This business has earned my loyalty forever. A few months ago, I brought a print in to be framed. Unfortunately, when I received the finished piece there were several issues with it that left me unsatisfied. I made my disappointment known to the management at the store. Andrew was the man who helped me. He went above and beyond to correct the problem and ensure that I was happy with my frame. The lengths this store went to right their wrongs far exceeded my expectations. Throughout the process Andrew communicated with me and updated me about what was being done to serve my needs. The amount of work and care taken to please me as a customer was more than my money’s worth. I appreciate how much they stand behind their work and the satisfaction of their customers. My print eventually had to be reframed, but the finished piece is of the highest quality I had hoped for. They made it right. I can’t thank them enough for everything they did for me. It’s rare to find a company who cares for their customers as much as they have for me. They will always have my business going forward because I trust them to serve the customer and provide the highest quality work.

Tight corridors of near-endless art supplies lend this store a well-stocked if claustrophobic atmosphere. I would lean towards Palace Art Supplies over Lenz for both comfort and ease of navigation. However, the staff was quite friendly and knowledgeable!

Surprisingly large supply of art supplies! The layout and organization of the interior can be overwhelming for the first time shopper, but the staff was warm and ready to help.

There is no better place to find quality art supplies than Lenz. They have pretty much everything a visual artist would need. Friendly, helpful staff, lots of sales & they will special order things if you need them. I only wish they were open on Sundays.

Just went here for the first time and think it’s great. Nice range of good to top quality artist materials. Astonishing selection of canvases by Masterpiece. There is something to be said about visiting an established family run business as opposed to big chains or buying online. The staff was very helpful and when one couldn’t answer my question she brought over someone who could. I will return when I’m in the area.

They have many frames of all different sizes and materials and quality, plus materials to make your own frames. Its quite a treasure trove in this store! The staff is also very friendly and knowledgeable. A must-visit store for the serious artist, the newcomer, and everybody in between.

I Had one of my paintings professionally framed here.Their nice employee in the framing dept. was so kind to suggest a specific frame glass, to really make that particular painting piece Pop! The job was done well & I Loved the results! Also their wide choice of assorted wooden frames were priced at Good Value, compared to other art supply stores in the area.

A fun art store to go into. Their prices are competitive with brick-and-mortar stores anywhere. But what I like about the store is the kind of cluttered nature in an old building in Santa Cruz. Its fun to walk around the creaking floors, not some brand new stucco building. They have pretty much everything for artist

Very helpful staff I was Christmas shopping and didnt know exactly what I needed but the people working set me on the right path. Left there very happy.

It was pricey, I wont mislead.I usually buy everything off the internet to save money, but I couldnt with one item and I had to go to the store for it. The mark up price is, as I looked around, 50%-125% more than online. Though, the prices are a hair cheaper than downtown at the other art supply store.Overall, nice store with a lot of great stuff, but I want to do a LOT of stuff with what I purchase, not a little like Lenz can only offer with its prices.

You can find most any art supply needed here. The staff is very helpful and there are always items on sale for the thrifty among us. Parking can be a challenge but not impossible as long as you accept you are ok with parking on the street and walking a half block tops.

I would highly recommend Lenz Fine Arts for framing purposes. I brought in a screenprint that was damaged when it was originally framed, and Andrew kindly took the time to examine the problem and reccomend a proper course of action to fix the print. He was extremely knowledgeable and helpful. I am grateful for finding this frame shop, and for the advice I received!

An excellent variety of art supplies in a variety of mediums. Wide selection of various manufacturers of paper, paints, brushes, etc. Large inventory of Ampersand panels as well as stretched canvases. Staff is knowledgeable and helpful.

Keep in mind that I am handicap from stroke 2013Lost about 75% of left side of body !! I can still beat most snails in races !! Some caterpillars also !! A scared turtle that runs away other than withdraws might always beat me when scared !! I actually have one speed before I trip/fall down. having trouble getting back up with out permanent fixtures to crawl up on to !! Also inclines are very difficult to worse !! For me !! Without cane or stick, I am almost NOT !!
