Best arepas in LA!!! As a Venezuelan 🇻🇪 who has been in the USA for 21 years, it’s refreshing to have an authentic, delicious 🤤 arepa, oh and the chimichurri is the absolute best! Highly recommended, the owner is also a great humble person. Definitely will be a regular client of this place!!
Unique and delicious coffee. The after taste of latte is simply marvelous. Sandwiches and muffins are good too.
I highly recommend this place!!!!The pulled pork arepas with their amazing green sauce are delicious and they have the best fresh orange and ginger juice!!!
Friendly customer service. Nice atmosphere and the Arepas are delicious.
Very nice clean place to have a coffee and bread
Venezuelan Arepas in Santa Monica, California. Price varies, they come in small sizes, more like a “slider arepa”My order as per de menu which is not clear, was 6USD, but there is a minimum order of 2 per order so it was 12*+. Since I saw the owner and talked to him, he was able to sale me just one arepa, it was an exception. You have to know how they taste before ordering two, right? It was good, I would prefer a standard size normal arepa for One price.Coffee was good too!
One of my absolute favorite places. The vibe is so friendly, welcoming, inviting art & conversation. Coffee, salads, arepas, guasa & chimichurri sauces!
One of the best places to get authentic Venezuelan brunch! They also have amazing sandwiches!
Showed up with Venezuelan hats and mask and not one said anything I saw them talking in Spanish I request to see the menu a I was answered in EnglishWhy? Do they think they are gringos now?Very disappointing experienceEverything super expensive minimum $12 to buy 2 arepas a package oh harina PAN its only $3.00No recommended nor will go again thereA Venezuelan place named Bolivar and we felt like strangers
Yall this place is dope. I love the vibe and decor, its very Venezuelan (I think, Ive never been to a Venezuelan restaurant). Its definitely refreshing in this part of LA since santa Monica is very white. Kind of pricy.. I had a Mexican Torta and a hot chocolate and boom $17. I liked the side salad way (Caesar) better than the Torta. The Torta was okay, the bread was a bit too hard for my teeth and the chicken looked a little unrecognizable? It was yellow and very flat, not too juicy. I think Ill try the arepas next time, I heard theyre better! It took a while for my food to come out, there were only 2 girls and although it wasnt too crowded they looked very busy. Definitely a spot to visit if youre feeling a little adventurous
The best coffee in California. Great sandwiches and arepas. Nice people.
The benches and chairs are not comfortable, and you have to look for electrical plugs. There are really only two plugs, one on the far left as you walk in and one in the middle. There are no plugs to the far right. I have been there about six times, and never found the servers that nice. Not sure why. Its pretty hot in here. If Love Coffee Bar is full, it is a good alternative. Their wifi sometimes has issues for some Macs I have noticed. I am still waiting for them to get more plugs and more comfortable chairs, and some smiling servers.
They weren’t bad but definitely not Venezuelan arepas, and the size is like a sample
Love that green sauce!!
The best coffee in Santa Monica in my opinion, the lattes are especially great. Its also one of the few coffee shops that actually has really good food! Their sandwiches and their pastries taste super fresh and super delicious!
Ive been going here for years and I love their coffee, service and yogurt with fruit/granola.
The arepas were amazing. Totally recommended!
One of my favorite spots in L.A. Santa Monica. The coffee is amazing, the food is fantastic and the Staff is tremendously tremendous. I highly recommend this spot, favorite🌹🌷💗
Great coffee and food
Great arepas.
The guy who helped us was really nice, but as a Venezuelan, I expected more authenticity in the arepas. They arent bad, but they can definitely be much better. The tamarind we ordered was delicious though. Id recommend this more for a coffee spot, if you need to study or have a chill coffee date, but thats about it
Great food & drink, friendly staff, and art on the walls. What more could you ask?
The best rolls and the most awesome coffee!!! The staff is excellent as well. The detail and attention they give is amazing. This is not your run of the mill cafe. Go in, relax, feel pampered!
Great cold bre coffee and great staff ......come in and find for yourself
One of the best arepa in LA. Im so glad that I found this place!
This place is awesome! The coffee is always amazing and my favorite thing to get to eat are the Arepas. These take a little extra time as they are made to order but it is worth the wait, they are amazing! Be sure to also get some soup while you wait (it is always good no matter what they have that day!) Great staff, great location to work or just grab some lunch, or have a coffee with a friend.
Friendly owners, really good coffees and pastries. Ill definitely be coming back.
Love going there coffees are all delicious the people that work there are very sweet very clean very friendly I go there almost every morning to get the coffee then my pastries highly recommended👍🏼👍🏼👌🏼💕
This is my favorite coffee shop! Great food, people and coffee and tea is next level!
Food is delicious!!! The staff are very friendly specially Emilio so kind and warm always welcomes you with a smile and makes sure your happy with your order. Love to come to come and have my cup of joe and arepa!!
My goodness! So AMAZING!
Best coffee, best vibe, best service in the area !!!! Cafe Bolivar has been my Go To spot for years. Their arepas, juices, and food in general are all delicious and fresh. Highly recommended!
One of the best local coffee houses - with a secret weapon - the arepa! These hot cornmeal-based sandwiches (try the tuna) can be ordered in pairs and are DELICIOUS. The coffee is good - and their limeade is a win. Finally, fresh salads, traditional sandwiches and fresh baked good make this a hidden gem in Sunset Park.
The cafe was great with lots of tables inside the building and outside. All the tables had sunflowers on them, and everyone was so cheery and thoughtful. This little cafe offers tons of beverages (coffees, cappucinos, espressos, lemonades, and much more), as well as breakfast foods, pastries, soups, salads, and sandwiches.
Yummy food, coffee, juice and Arepes! Check it out.Nice chill neighborhood place for breakfast or lunch.Closed on Sunday.
Best arepas, fresh luscious salad green in a light and comfortable space
Maracuya juice is delicious!! the place is always full but it is worth wait to eat there! Delicious!!
Good arepas; nice and crunchy but not too crispy to eat. I liked the ham and cheese much more than the grilled chicken, which had a lot of sauce and almost seemed more like chicken salad.
So delicious - order the mango smoothy and its like drinking a mango fresh from South America. Add a couple of arepas and your mouth is in heaven. Also amazing is the tropical sandwich. Great side salads. Other options? fresh juices - mix and match any 3 fruits made to order, or pick one out of the fresh but ready made ones out of the cooler if youre in a hurry.
I love this place. Its a great spot, especially if youre local to the neighbourhood. The good:- Arepas are fantastic.- Coffee is good.- Love the music they play.- Great location.- Employees are very friendly.- Freshly made fruit juices.- Free WiFi (be nice and spend some money while youre there, its only right).- Good spot to bring a laptop, get some coffee, and get work done (not a lot of outlets...only 2 outlets on the western wall)- Celebs drop in for coffee sometimes.- Usually not crowded. The bad (or more appropriately, the not so good, cause. I dont think theres anything bad about this place):- It gets a bit hot in the middle of the day unless its really chilly out.- As of 10/30/2015, they have not been, and continue to not be, open on Sundays, which is a shame.- Not open late (well not late enough for me, closes at 8pm most nights, 7pm on Saturdays... what can I say Im a night owl).
Very tasty arepas!! Tiny for Venezuelan standards. I recommend the one with pork. A bit overpriced... but you get what you pay for.
I love it!!!!!!!! I love the arepas!!!!!!!! they are soooooooooooo good!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Great place but I lost my retainer in nthe garbage today and Im kinda screwed.
I recommend the arepas & the coffee ☕️ !
I love this little one of a kind coffee/tea place. They have these amazing sandwiches called arepas that are literally to die for! Plus great coffee, tea, juices, etc. Always warn and friendly.
Great coffee and excellent service. The owner is very friendly and very attentive.
Excellent service and excellent food.
Bolivar is our favorite local hangout. We love meeting friends and neighbors here!
I come here often. good coffee, good people
Walked in to two workers having a conversation, they couldn’t be bothered to take our order so we decided to leave after 5 min of standing and waiting for them
Their cold brew is very good. arepas are very good too.
Best arepas in town! We love this place
My home away from home since the day it opened upCreates connections for everyone in the neighborhood A must for the ArtWork alone its a special place
Great atmosphere, music, food and drinks. James is an amazing barista, friendly and very knowledgeable of all the items on the menu.
The ultimate coffee shop and so much more. Theres not a weekend I miss a stop at Bolivar (and it has to be Saturday, because unfortunately doors are closed on Sunday). I now crave a mango ginger lassi regularly. The arepas are a tasty novelty, but not the lightest breakfast. An absolute gem.
Get the tuna arepas! The service was very friendly and warm to me. The guy at the register was cheerful and super positive. I would definitely return here, for the arepas alone!
Friendly, clean and happy place to grab a drink and something to eat, but the juice is amazing but it is expensive as its made fresh! Great coffee too. WiFi available and fast.
Comfortable cafe with long tables for working on. Electrical outlets and Wifi available. Arepas are absolutely delicious, if only a bit expensive. Good coffee. Parking is kind of a pain, only 1 hour metered in front, you can park around the corner by the school, sometimes.
Good food, cute venue, youll have to wait a bit for your food though
I used to LOVE coming here. Not anymore! HUGE jack up of prices for the new year. LONG waits for coffee!!!!
Affordable prices and tasty food. Love it!
Wonderful coffee drinks and great sandwiches!
Great Arepas and drinks! I recommend the chorizo
Great food. Arepas are delicious. Good coffee
I love the Oaxacan mocha ! Unique and sooo delicious.
The coffee is very good and the Arepas are delicious hand made
Really good locals’ place for salads and sandwiches.
My go-to spot for an afternoon of studying, incentivised by amazing lattes and comfortable atmosphere.
The best arepas ever.
If you want arepas made by tosti-arepa, this is the place for you. They make awesome arepas that made me miss the arepas I used to eat back home.Service couldve been better, but still not enough to knock a star off.
Nitro cold brew is awesome! Street parking only with meters, and the neighborhood is permit parking.
Hate to do this but i just couldnt find any reasonable parking around here. Wanted to come and burn a few hours writing and there was no parking within 10 blocks for longer than an hour. There are like 4 spots right next to the place but if you dont get those youre out of luck.
Yummy arepas, but they make you buy 2!
I was invited here for a business lunch, to discuss something social and mobile and startup-ish. When I first walked in, I was not overly impressed with the decor, but then my host brought me a steaming mug of very decent drip coffee, and I began to relax and enjoy the relaxed, non-pretentious surroundings. He showed me his prototypes, and ideas started buzzing (aided by the coffee). I had almost forgetten we had ordered arepas, when two little round sandwiches came on a tray. Mine had minced chicken stuffed inside, it was lovely.
Food was delicious. Service wasnt very amenable or friendly; like they couldnt be bothered.
Neighborhood special...bagel with wasacaca sauce is the secret
The Arepas are on point! Get the mango one with avocado.
Unique selection of delectable treats.
Simple but nice!
Delicious fresh juices and arepas!
Pleasant vibe and lovely staff :)
