Came across a jazz performance scheduled to be going on June 20th 2021, drove all the way there at the time of the event only to find that they’re closed (presumably because of COVID?) they need to update their website to keep people informed because there are tons of other events still posted to be going on which will not be happening. I would love to reevaluate once they do open.

Space itself is beautiful, old books line the walls and the aroma of fresh coffee hits you as soon as you walk in. This coffee shop is the most popular here for they have different coffee flavors that complete your day. You can even let the barista know your coffee preferences and they will prepare it to your liking. You dont have to worry, they are all kind and accommodating.

A cozy Bohemian-style art house in Santa Monica that supports local artists. Very eclectic decor including mismatched wall paper, painted chairs, a variety of art and books. There is also jewelry for sale, which is made by local artists..There is a small stage near the rear of the dining area, with local art on the walls. Its a place where you can get music, art, dinner theatre...laughter, get smarter, express yourself, make a difference in the world, and various other takeaways, depending on how you make use of the space but most of all, be a part of the community. The menu here is simple. Coffee (blended, hot and cold), sandwiches, chili, soup, bagels and toast and salads. They serve Our MILK is RBST milk (growth hormone free), they make their own Almond and Coconut milks without artificial additives, use natural sweeteners such as Agave, Honey & Raw Sugar. Their menu offers organic, gluten-free and vegan options.I quite enjoyed the tuna melt with avocado, which I paired with pink ginger lemonade. There was plenty of avocado, the tuna tasty and the bread had an interesting flavor to it.I visited this venue to see a friend perform in his one man show. I found this a very relaxed and welcoming place, and I look forward to my next visit.

Great place to study and get some work done! Its really bright and colorful, perfect for getting some creative ideas flowing. Great vibe. Reminds me of the groovy coffee houses we used to hang out in before Starbucks took over the scene. Lots of space for working on projects or visiting with friends. Free wifi. Great organic menu options and the tuna sandwich will rock your world. If you like low or non-fat milk in your latte, you are out of luck- they only offer full fat, but they have many other milk substitutes like coconut or almond.

I love this place!! This is a business that cares about their impact on the environment, customers, and community.I love the drinks and I love their mission. Not only are they committed to providing healthy food and drinks, but theyre invested in supporting local artists and community organizations. Every time I stop in, theyre hosting meetings for local organizations. On the weekends they have open mics and comedy shows. They regularly provide space for local artists to display and sell their work. They have signs reminding you to pay your meter. They have been kind when I havent had exact change. And when people who are down on their luck come in, they treat them with dignity and compassion. Its a great place to set up shop and work. There are plenty of seats, outlets, and wifi. Its generally quiet. And theres free parking in the neighborhood, or metered parking along the street. The ONLY thing Id love to see are a few more comfy chairs for longer work sessions. The salted caramel chai and walnut bread is my favorite

One of the free coffee shops that has the feeling of being a gathering place for locals. Many different community groups meet here in back while others are just stopping by for a drink. Local Artist work is always on display. It has a funky coffee shop vibe with friendly staff of real people, no uniforms. The coffee itself is only OK, and its not any cheaper than a Starbucks. It would be great if the coffee was great.

Coffee is pretty good, I like the honey latte best of the things Ive tried there. The food is extremely expensive for the quality and quantity. For the people comparing it to Starbucks, the quality of coffee is a bit higher, food is lower, but its a LOT more expensive. Atmosphere is nice though.

I write for a music and coffee blog called Crooners In Coffeeshops, in which I interview local musicians at local coffeeshops. My writeup reflects the positive experience that I encountered at UnUrban Coffee House on our interview date.In a congested city like Los Angeles, it’s sometimes easier to go to the closest coffee chain just purely out of convenience and time. However, we end up losing the experience of stepping into a kooky hole-in-the-wall place that has clearly made customers happy for many years. UnUrban Coffee in Santa Monica is one of those hidden gems that can be the home for many fun experiences. Whether you’re stopping by to pick up your morning brew, reuniting with a long-time friend, or happen to be there to witness some type of cool live performance in their stage area, you’re sure to feel perfectly at home. The first thing that you’ll notice about UnUrban is that it’s heavily influenced by art, which is clearly showcased from its building artwork, outdoor furniture, and even its logo. Luckily, you get that same amount of quirkiness reflected when you step through its retro screen covered wooden doors as you are welcomed by bright colors infused everywhere you can possibly imagine, and the displaying of unique local artwork lining its walls for patrons to enjoy. And the more art-focused the shop is, at least for me, the more options there are for food and drink that meets everyone’s dietary restrictions or preferences. I took advantage of their specialty drink menu and went with an Earl Gray Tea Latte which specific name escapes me. Overall, art lovers and caffeine lovers alike will enjoy their time here.

Very interesting place. Crowded and many people were playing some game called GO? Never heard of it. It is a bit on the sketchy side in terms of vibes, but the coffee and service was good. Id go back if I were in the area again in need of a coffee. I was craving a coffee pretty late in the evening, around 9 pm, so I was happy they were open and serving good coffee. I also got a fresh tasting orange juice! I noticed there was some sort of mini comedy show going on at the rear of the coffee house. I thought that was pretty cool, but I did feel like I was a bit out of place. Dont truly know how best to describe my experience here other than saying it was interesting.

Unurban is probably one of the few hidden gems on the Westside of Los Angeles that lives up to being a community coffeehouse for the people and by the people. Not only do they serve various coffee & teas, but they have a breakfast and lunch menu. Walking through the halls, you can see the quaint charm of the cafe as you are greeted by colorful walls with art & works from local artists. There is even a theater space in the back of the cafe which often serves multiple roles as study space, meeting space, and performance space depending on the night or day you hang out there. So as for my personal recommendations, Ive tried the chili. Very hearty and wholesome. The Lemon Toddy or this ginger drink they have is good when you have a cold or sore throat. I once got this blood orange mocha or espresso drink that tasted pretty interesting but you gotta find the right staff who knows how to make it.The owners and staff there are especially great and give service everyday with a smile. They also arent uptight about supporting the community, especially local artists and performers. So for that, we should continue to support this local business.

Dishonest owner and management team - This evening I was informed by the venue, Unurban Café, that they double booked our time and chose to push our show time to 10PM. Being a paid client of theirs I was both insulted and found their candor unprofessional in resolving this issue by not living up to their contract and not being fort right with us. Due to this I have canceled tomorrows show (9/25/2018) and will find a more professional venue to continue this show concept for the following weeks. Our goal for #uarefunny is simple, create a show that everyone is welcome, give us all an equal opportunity to get on the stage, do 3 minutes and try to win $50 bucks! Then eventually, find a path to the grand finale and win $500. For me to accomplish this I have engaged many A-lister judges and Industry folks who book shows at the major clubs and make comedy movies. I really feel strongly that any venue must be of the utmost professional in their contract and endeavors with us and those of us who come to be part of the show. I also look to venues who understand the subculture of open-micers and want to be part of reaching their dreams. Turns out Unurban had different goals and in them selfishly pushing our show to a different time slot, for even one day, showed me their true colors.
