Very friendly, was greeted as I walked in, very helpful and knowledgeable works. They had stuff there even when I was a kid. Awesome place.

Over the top helpful good service and advice on whatever project I am facing. Plus they sell and service Stihl power tools and again provide abundant info and advice.

Very awesome plant collection but unfortunately extremely over-priced, not just the plants but pretty much everything in the store. The staff isnt very friendly, I get the feeling like Im inconvenienceing them by coming in the store. There is an employee or two that are nice and welcoming. The rude ones ruin it for them tho, I dont shop there anymore and I tell my family and friends not too as well

Come on man its Scarborough then using this place since I was a kid and Im 61 now! Between Scarborough and ACE it is some of the most helpful customer service you will ever find you will ever find on the planet and Im not joking, if you think Im kidding go to Ace Hardware And more than likely youll be greeted as you walk in and youll be asked for help at least once if you need help that is great place.

After 25 years living in silicon valley and suffering with the slow degradation of service and selection it was A JOY to walk into a hardware store that in the first 30 sec i was asked 3x if i needed help and they have ACTUAL HARDWARE... u know the section with a 1000 drawers of every possible hardware widget that the big box stores stopped carrying years ago... what a breath of fresh air ... THANK YOU ACE HARDWARE!

The minute you walk in someone will ask if you need help. If you say yes, they will walk you over to the area where you need to be and they will answer your questions and help you select just the right item.They also repair Stihl products and a friend took my weed whacker into the repair counter and they replaced the fuel cap for 8.00 and my friend was out the door.There is a red haired guy who works there who is always really helpful. I love going in and checking out the BBQ and gift section. It is a really great local hardware store.

A fine hardware store. Physically smaller than the big box hardware stores, but with more helpfully folks, and a they carry a broader range of stuff. But by necessity, they stock fewer of each product. There prices are also a bit higher than the big hardware stores as well. On this day I needed 10 of an unusual bit of hardware. It turned out each Ace store stocked only two, so I did a tour of all 5 Ace stores in my area. I got my stuff in an afternoon rather than days or weeks from the internet. This Ace is attached to a lumber yard and stocks pipe and pipe fittings.

These guys know what theyre doing! Good selection of products, nice and most importantly knowledgeable staff. Typically a hardware store isnt a whole family event but even our toddler loves it here. We like to support local businesses and its usually our first stop- only on rare occasions do we have to go to one of their larger competitors to find specialty items.

I went in today after having two poor experiences finding a common tool in two other chain hardware stores. Scarborough ACE could not be a more different experience.When you go in, you will immediately notice a clean, well stocked store with a friendly staff and happy customers. The aisles are well-marked; I was able to find the correct item within thirty seconds. The tool I needed was locked down, as I expected, so I asked a staff person to unlock it for me. They responded immediately and offered to hand it over or leave it at checkout- my preference. I was rung up by another friendly, efficient staff member. I was asked if I had a rewards card but not battered about it. The price was dead on what I hoped for, with higher and lower priced versions in other sizes also available.When I left I noticed a sale outside- fill up a bag with overstock or recycled items from the bins for $10. There was great stuff with a lot of variety in there, and I ended up hitting up the deal as well with project assistance from more knowledgeable, never pushy or arrogant staff.What a store! Long live this Scarborough ACE.

Walked in about 5:15 with my Stihl chain saw wanting a new bar and chain along with a new fuel filter, spark plugs and air filter. The 2 repair department guys took good care of me right away. I was expecting to leave it overnight or 2 days but they assured me they could take care of me right away. I couldnt be more happier. AND they stay open until 7:00 on weeknights! Highly recommend doing business with this store!-Bob..

So I was looking for some bolts but I didnt know the thread size, length, metric or standard. Obviously I had to ask. The hardware attendant not only explained me how to determine the right fit but also let me borrow his stencil. His words you look like an honest man, I took bolts to tried then on before buying it. Not only did I walked away with what I needed that day, I walked away with a smile in my face.

This is one of the best hardware stores I have been to. They have the best Stihl collection in all of Santa Cruz County. The staff is extremely helpful and seem to be always available. Every visit has been a great pleasure, and even calling to see if they have something in stock is easy. They have actual humans that answer the phone. Shocker!

These folks carry almost everything I ever need for my many DIY projects. This trip was for 4.5mm ball bearings. I just needed 2 of the chrome balls that go in the bearing and side as shootin, they had em. Since there is so much stuff here, you will likely need some help finding your particular item. No problem, they are super helpful too.

This is a huge Across Hardware with a big selection of everything. Friendly staff and the normal prices. Id recommend it for sure.

This store is the one stop shop -big hardware ace, yet small town family operated and owned for generations by the Scarborough family- place that everyone in the valley loves, and for good reason. As I said, the store is large and has EVERYTHING you need, like you can expect from ace, but has the small town touch and is locally owned and operated. You can expect to come in this store and get the great customer service and purchase all of your hardware needs at a fair price. I personally will go out of my way to shop at Scarborough in Ben lomond and Scotts valley over home depot even though I live right next door to home depot.The employees are always happy, very friendly and eager to help. I like coming in this store and talking to an employee who I know has done the same project as me before and knows exactly what I need!The store is very clean and well organized. All items are very easy to find.

The slogan Ace is the place with the helpful hardware man is entirely true at this store. Walk in the door and say what you need to the first staffer, and theyll take you right to the desired product. Nicest, most helpful people Ive ever seen in a store. Large range of products means its a convenient one stop. However, theres a negative. Any Ace brand product may likely be substandard or mediocre. Examples include the trimmer line in the photo. I never realized how awful the Ace product was until I bought a competitor. Ace is 1 star; Titanium gets 5. They used to sell Ace branded driveway sealer, but as you see in the second photo, it was awful, I asked for and got a full refund and then redid the driveway. What a pain. Now they understandably only sell name branded product. I bought some little Ace-branded Delta faucet washers, and two of them were the wrong size. Etc., etc. Note that all prices are maximum full retail except for sale items. So you pay for the great convenience. A sink drinking water faucet thats $16 on Amazon is $25 at this store. Etc. Youll have to decide if the difference is worth it. I go there a few times a year for small stuff like screws and stainless steel clamps but otherwise go elsewhere. Although I do admit, I do like the personal customer service, which is this stores strong point.
