Maria came out to the new home, being transplants from out of state, I had previously always bought window treatments from large box stores. She measured and suggested the best solution for our window coverings. Due to heat and temperatures, we left it in her trusty hands. We have almost completed the entire house...Marias measurements and the installers expert installation, we have beautiful and effective window coverings in the new home. Thank You!

The name carefree should be changed to we dont care about our customers. They genuinely dont care. We ordered about 8k worth of rollers and one shutter done with them. The sales lady was nice and friendly, and we even considered doing another drapery project with them. However, the installation was horrible. Their subcontractors damaged my custom built-in desk; the shutters were hung incorrectly with huge gaps and required them to return 3x. They wasted hours of my time. Finally, the manager Patrick and the sales lady Carol came to inspect the damage. They seemed rather shocked and said we would reorder the shutter immediately! while still being frustrated, we were relieved that they were going to make it right. After four weeks of waiting, we called to see the status, only to learn that the shutter was not going to be replaced and they were going to send a master installer to fix the problem. We agreed, and the master was not able to properly fix the issue. Then we went into a period of them ignoring our calls. I know they are carefree, but honestly, their company damaged our property, wasted our time, left us with a broken shutter, and now ignores my calls. I did a chargeback, and I hope my credit card company will refund my money. If you value your furniture and essential craftsmanship, stay away from carefree coverings.

Our Hunter Douglas Luminette Privacy Sheers are awesome. Installation was professional and they took away the old blinds, drapes and valance. Holes were patched and painted. Operation via remote control is really cool. The room looks great.

We recently outfitted our home with new window coverings from Carefree Coverings. The whole team at this shop was professional, punctual, courteous and responsive. We had a couple bugs to work our with our installation which is not uncommon on a large project. The company took ownership, made no excuses, and remedied the situation within 24 of contacting them. It is a rare trait to find this level of professionalism and integrity these days. We highly recommend using them for your decorating needs.

After recently buying a new home we were in the market for window treatments for the master bedroom & laundry room. We had visited another store and were totally overwhelmed by product & pricing. I’ve been working with Maria on updating our large sliding doors with a new motorized shade. I received the product in the time promised and installation was set up with no problems even during a pandemic. They are reliable now so I’m sure using them in the future too.

I appreciated the fact that Maria double checked the measurements of my windows rather than accept those of the sales person who preceded her. She also reviewed with me the Hunter Douglas shade that I had selected. She felt that I might be more satisfied with another color. I truly was. I love the look!

I visited the showroom initially, and then Maria came to our home three times, twice to help finalize the selection and once while the installer was at work. All interactions were pleasant and professional, and Maria knew her products and offered needed advice. The woven wood shades looked great on our windows. Very happy with the shop and the quality of the shades.

I purchased shutters and blinds for my new home at Carefree Coverings. I became interested in the motorized blinds as I thought it would be a great feature to program the blinds to close/open with the sun to keep the heat at bay.As the sun was not going to be an issue in all windows, I debated if the motorization was needed on all windows. On the advice of the owner, I selected non-motorized blinds for some windows as I was told that the motorization could always be added later relatively inexpensively.After everything was installed, I became aware that a $600 hub was needed in order to add the automatic programming I was interested in. Having expressed my interest in the automatic/programming feature, I was a bit perplexed as to why this hub had not been mentioned and was not included in my quote / scope of work.After deciding to move forward with the hub, I decided to upgrade three hard to reach windows with the motorization as I was investing the $600 and very much liked the motorization features on the other blinds. I was given a rough quote of $400 max for the upgrade with an exact/formal quote to follow.The owner then called a few days later (after i purchased the hub) to tell me he had made a mistake and that the blinds I had could not be upgraded -- I would need to totally replace them at a cost of $3000+. While he did drop the installation charges and discount the proposed new blinds, there is a huge difference between $400 max and $3000 plus. Over the next few weeks he kept telling me he would try to do better on the price but each quote I received remained above $3000.Gary - the owner - told me on numerous occasions that these blinds could always be upgraded at a later date -- I was making the right decision. In addition, shortly into the process, I found that I needed to double/triple check details as the updated quotes/proposals I was receiving did not always match what we had discussed at our appointments, over the phone, or in previous emails. Gary was also sometimes a bit unresponsive and/or responded with info that had nothing to do with the situation at hand.I used Carefree Coverings as I wanted to support a small, local business, and I did not switch to another company as I just wanted the windows done in my new home.
