Such a wonderful experience for our wedding anniversary, we both had a great time. Joe was our instructor and he was very friendly, knowledgeable and helpful in creating some amazing pieces with us. The hot shop is a great place, loved the ambiance and the bathroom was amazing - you really do need to pee while you are there!!!I would most certainly return for another visit, the value for money was amazing seeing as though we had a two hour experience with stuff to take home afterwards!I would highly recommend coming here just for fun or for a special occasion - experiences rock but you also get stuff!! It’s the best of both worlds!!
This was the highlight of our Seattle trip! I never thought I would enjoy it as much as I did. We booked this as part of our honeymoon adventures and had Joe as our instructor! He was an awesome instructor and you can tell he enjoys his job! He made it fun and very hands on! He is very skilled and knowledgeable and guides you through all the steps in creating your masterpiece! Definitely an experience to remember!
Buy a Groupon! Schedule a class! DO IT! My boyfriend and I had the pleasure of having Daniel as our teacher on Sunday! He was incredibly knowledgeable, personable, and patient. We were taught the history of glass making while being able to experience hands on. The facility itself was clean, had great customer service at the front and I was overall very impressed. I had read many reviews on Groupon and was unsure if it could be as amazing as what everyone had said. Now having been, I cant agree more. My partner and I definitely want to return in the near future!
We did the 2 hour private lesson and it was incredible. Jess was a great instructor. She gave us very direct and clear instructions which helped us feel safe but also taught us a lot and made it super fun. We were able to complete 4 pieces in the time which we were very happy with. Definitely recommend if youre a Seattle visitor or a Seattle native!
Glassblowing is something that Ive always wanted to try, and this was the most amazing experience! Daniel was extremely patient with me and my husband and completely overlooked the fact that I was totally geeking out lol. I almost wish that I lived in Seattle just so that I could go back here frequently. This was one of the best parts of our honeymoon weekend getaway!
Did a 2hr private class and had a great time. A ton of fun to be involved in the process and so cool to be able to take home the pieces we worked on.
We had such a great time at the glass blowing class! We made beautiful bowls and an ornament. Stevie was very patient and great to work with. Definitely recommend going there!
So much fun to learn about such an old form of art. I have a lot more respect for glass blowing both from an artist perspective and for the art itself. The teachers were great--so welcoming, patient, and passionate. Would definitely recommend.
It was an amazing place. However there were two of us and the gentleman spent so much time on the piece for the first individual he had to rush through the piece with the second individual. Other than that it was an amazing experience, they were extremely knowledgeable and very nice. Would definitely do it again.
SO. MUCH. FUN. I took my Bubbe for her birthday. We had a great time! Stevie was our instructor and he was fantastic—very friendly, helpful, and patient. Just picked up our pieces yesterday, and they’re gorgeous. Highly recommend! We’ll definitely be going back.
Very professional staff who are great teachers. We were beginners taking a lesson at the studio and got a great introduction to the glass blowing process. It was hands on enough that we got to really experience it, but the instructors are careful and don’t leave you to your own devices either. Great experience
We had a great time doing a class here! The instructor, Daniel, was extremely knowledgeable and did an awesome job between teaching and letting us try things ourselves. Would definitely recommend!
Super awesome experience. Very kind and engaging staff. After the first piece in a 3 hour lesson we were already talking about the next time. Definitely something to get into and there are so many gorgeous pieces of artwork.
Learn from people who are passionate about glass blowing art+science. Very clean and safe environment.
A three-hour private lesson for an 11-year-old boy and 10-year-old girl went very well with a patient and helpful instructor (Tree). Taking turns, they got five pieces done total (two cups, one bowl, one paperweight, and one pumpkin). All turned out great and the kids had a lot of fun. They couldnt wait to pick up the art after they cooled for two days. The girl cant wait to make more glass art.
Signed up for a two hour private lesson and got to make basic beginner pieces. Wed never done glassblowing before but made a vase, bowl, mug, and decorative pumpkin. It takes three days for items to cool down so if youre not able to come back theyll ship your things to you. We had a great time, would recommend it as a great activity. Very hot in the studio, bring water.
I highly recommend everyone try this! Even if you are not artistic, it will blow your mind how some pieces are made. Our instructor was beyond exceptional.
We passed by the Seattle Glassblowing Studio on our way to our hotel and thought wed see if they have any hands-on shops. We were so pleased that they did and signed up. We had our session with Joe and it did not disappoint! He was friendly, informative, and helpful. He walked us through the safer parts of the glassblowing process and handled the skilled parts himself. I dont have an artistic bone in my body and he managed to help keep the piece I was working on looking like it was supposed to. My sister left the shop googling if there are glassblowing studios in our hometown to see if she can jump on this amazing art medium.I coordinated with the shop to ship our pieces to us after theyve cooled down. 5/5 Daynas would recommend; an extremely positive experience.
Love the experience. We booked a private 3 hour class for 2 people and it was worth the money! Great experience, would recommend!
This has been on my bucket list for many years, and it was worth the wait! The entire staff was friendly and knowledgeable. My friend and I had a two hour private lesson, and we were able to make three large pieces and two small pieces between us in that time. Stevie was a terrific instructor, both in how he led the lesson and guided our glass making efforts, but also in the history and background of the craft that he provided. If you are interested in how creating glass art is done, I would highly recommend the wonderful folks at the Seattle Glassblowing Studio!
We had a blast in our class! It was so much more hands on than I expected! A perfect date night!
Incredible Art ~ Great Prices ~ Friendly People :-)Cant wait to take classes! The glass art supply store, looks to have most all the tools and glass I need to get started, as well.Thank You, (to the on-site glass workers and teammates) for answering all my questions. See you again soon! ~pasquale
My wife took us here for a personal glass blowing day for my birthday. It was our first time ever stepping foot in a hot shop and the results were WAY better then we thought it would be! I mean the pictures speak for themselves. Our teacher Malcom Ford (malcomfordglass on IG) was amazing and helped us work through our ideas. My wife and I had some basic ideas on what we wanted to make and Malcom made them a reality. We had an amazing time and will for sure be back. Make sure and schedule enough time! Our 2 hours went by VERY fast! Thanks Malcom!
I had a great experience making my glass pumpkin! My instructor was very informative and patient, and I enjoyed my time very much! would definitely recommend.
This was the perfect afternoon activity to spend time with my mom. Our teacher was very sweet and knowledgeable about the process, and made us feel not only like we had a hand in the process, but like we were totally safe doing it.
Theyve been really great to work with. Spent some time emailing back and forth with Sarah to get several memorial pieces made. Everything came out really beautifully, she was very nice and pleasant to work with. The shop is really cool, theres a wide variety of pieces to look at, and you can look into the room where theyre blowing glass. Definitely recommend this place.
Daniel was an incredible teacher! We thoroughly enjoyed learning how to make different kinds of objects and do different designs in the glass. We cannot wait to see the finished products!
We opted for the 3 hour private lesson and had a total blast! Our instructor Daniel gave us a really hands on experience getting to make our pieces. I highly recommend making a paperweight during your lesson if you want to be really hands on, as the blown glass requires a bit more of the instructors skill to do correctly. 😊 Would definitely love to do this again!
I had such a fun time at the glassblowing class! Our instructor, Joe, was patient, helpful and clear with the directions. We were able to do some parts of the project ourselves, with enough support from him that the projects were ensured to turn out well. I would definitely recommend this!
Wonderful experience for an introduction to working with glass. Joe was a wonderful instructor, patient and very skilled. Great fun!!
My wife picked this class out for us to attend during our first vacation to Seattle. I was skeptical about how much fun this would be, but our trainer Jessie was knowledgeable, helpful, and fun. We successfully completed 5 bowls during the three hour course, and only failed on the more advanced platter with a design, and that was at the VERY END of the production, so we still had the experience of working on it through all of the creation stages. We are just waiting to see what survives the shipping home from the studio. This class was well worth the money spent.
Took a very fun 3 hour class with my family. Our instructor, Malcolm, was great! He was a patient instructor while also allowing us to be creative with our work. There’s also a great gallery/gift shop if you’re not interested in making your own pieces.
We had a great time learning and creating our own glass pieces. It’s a unique experience I recommend everyone try at least once and especially with Seattle Glassblowing Studio. The staff was very welcoming and helpful. Our instructor was great! He explained everything thoroughly and made sure we understood the process of creating glass art. I will definitely return in my future Seattle visits.
The online reservation process was easy. Our instructor, Tree, was patient as he walked our group of three thorough each step. We laughed as we became more comfortable getting creative and were amazed to see the shapes and colors come to life. Thank you for making the glass blowing experience available and inspiring!
It was an amazing experience and I have a whole new respect and love for glass. THANK YOU!
My sister and I took a class with Stevie today, and it was great! Really interesting introduction to glassblowing; he provided a nice blend of hands-on learning and professional guidance. Would recommend :-)
We purchased the three hour private glassblowing class and had a great time, it was both hands on and instructive. I highly recommend.
This was such a wonderful experience, thanks to all in the studio. Joe was our instructor and he made it so fun. When I come back to Seattle I will definitely do this again. My pumpkin is beautiful.
This was the high light of our trip to seattle. They are very knowledge and the hands on experience is amazing. If I am ever in the area again I will do this again.
My wife and I had a BLAST. These guys were super nice and friendly and our teacher was very knowledgeable and willing to actually let us dive in and do things to learn. Very cool experience and we will be going again!
Daniel was a great instructor and I had a ton of fun creating a couple pieces with my family!
Did the glass blowing class for 2 and it was an amazing experience!! So excited to pick up the creations we made! Instructor was very detailed and easy to follow and place was clean and great to work in! Hot as expected so wear accordingly!
Two of us had a 3 hour private class. I always have been fascinated by glass blowing and this class did not disappoint. We had a hands-on experience mixing color in, heating, shaping, turning and blowing. We each had a choice of three pieces we wanted to make. Now we have an even bigger appreciation of glass art, a better understanding of how much hard work and skill it requires.
The choice of projects was great. The instructor was friendly and knowledgeable. The only complaint was that the experience was less than one hour. The instructor did a lot of the project himself so our projects look very professional and it would have been fun to have a little more hands-on, even if the end product wasnt quite as perfect.
I throughly enjoyed my class and had a great instructor who was patient as well as knowledgeable. I am really bad with names, but I think it was Doug. I was very nervous, but Doug said I would assist and he would do the harder parts, what a relief since I knew nothing about glassblowing! I was pleased that I got to participate more than I thought and Doug was really great about explaining the process as well as what needed to be done. This was an awesome experience and I thank Doug, the woman who took my pics & the staff for taking care of me through the whole experience!
My husband and I took a glass blowing lesson and it was fantastic! It was definately something not many would think of for a date idea but it was such a unique and rewarding experience. Hopefully someday I can do it again!
Instructor was hands-on and personable, and allowed us to make a lot of requested items within the 3 hr class time. Pieces were shipped for a flat rate back home after cooling. Lost one star because one of the pieces was forgotten, but they shipped it later to us for free. Highly recommend the experience overall.
Great experience, super fun and educational. I wish it was a little more independent, but without training for that, I would probably have a forever scar from a molten glass burn. 😜
Had an awesome experience learning about the glassblowing process! Got to make an actual glass piece with help from Doug - a very knowledgeable and fun instructor. Would highly recommend taking a course here if youre interested in glassblowing - its a great date idea!
The time spent was very enjoyable, appreciate the instructors guidance and support. Great time.Thank youDennis Jackson
The glassblowing experience for two was hands down one of the coolest dates Ive ever been on. I purchased this as a Christmas present for my partner and I cannot recommend it highly enough for anyone in your life; siblings, parents, friends, partners, etc.!! The staff was kind and welcoming, and they did a great job explaining every step of the glassblowing process. Our instructor Tree did a marvelous job of allowing us to feel like we were in charge of the creative process while stepping in to help make sure we didnt mess up. I chose to create the paperweight and I am already eager to go back and make some more blown glass!
I had a great time and am going to pick up the bowl I made today!
It was a lot of fun to learn about and then play with the glass in a very hands-on fashion. Results were amazing.
Short, sweet, and fun activity! Its a cool process to watch and to participate in.
4 of us signed for a glass blowing class. We enjoyed seeing glass pieces so decided to learn more and take a class. The staff was very nice and very helpful. The place is nice and clean and it seemed safety was important. We had a good time. My 2 star review comes that our instructor seemed that we were asking too many questions and some of the answers were condescending. He seemed burnt out and his attitude reflected it. I hope he was having a bad day and everything is ok. We did enjoy the hands on portion for this first time class. We will come back to do more pieces but we will ask for a different instructor.
The tour is not worth it, as you are allowed to watch them blow glass for free from the cafe or from the gallery area. We were expecting the artists to be blowing glass but instead they were producing paper weights for an order. I feel as though a glass blowing studio tour should include glass blowing... There are other classes that are quite hands on and likely provide a better experience.
Had a great time doing a 2hour private lesson! Our instructor explained everything very well and helped us bring our ideas to life. Working with hot glass is very subtle and not at all intuitive or as easy as it looks, and our instructor let us really experience that while making sure that our pieces came out alright in the end.Highly recommend! Im glad we did two hours, I think any less would not have been enough.
A very fun experience with some great employees who really make a wonderful employee! We loved our professional glass blower (Tree?) who really included is in the whole process!
My mother and I vacationed (Marylanders) in Seattle this past week and decided to give glassblowing a try. Our instructor, Tree was absolutely fabulous. He was patient, informative, and had a great sense of care and humor. The entire staff was super helpful, followed Covid protocols, and was overall kind! We will be visiting Seattle again and definitely blowing more glass!
Malcolm was friendly and patient. He kept the four of us interested, on task, and moving along with our creations. The end products are a delight to the eye! I would recommend this experience to anyone who visits Seattle.
My wife and I took the 3 hour class and the experience was incredible! Our instructor Doug was very obviously passionate about his work and was genuinely interested in teaching us and helping us make some unique pieces. He took the time to stop and explain what was he was doing, what we’d do next, and taught us some basic terminology. The experience was super fun and We learned something new. We’ll definitely consider taking another class in the future with Seattle Glassblowing Studio.
The experience is always great. This is our second time doing it.
The experience was awesome and our instructor Malcolm was very patient and knowledgeable. He definitely made the class so much more enjoyable for us. Cant wait to pick up the finished pieces.
Went on a Sunday. Had a wonderful experience with the young gentleman from our home island of Prince of Wales! Purchased through Groupon and they are shipping our pieces when they cool to the proper temperature!
It was an awesome experience. Our art work came out unexpectedly nice with the help of our instructor which is very patient with us.
I went for a 30mins workshop with a friend on his birthday and he will definitely remember it for a long time. The instructor assisted us well and we enjoyed ourselves mixing the glass colors and sculpting the molten glass. Loved the whole experience! We’re eagerly awaiting our first, self sculpted glass paperweight!
The glass blowing lesson we took was great. Not only did we learn a lot but we had a lot of fun while we were doing it. I can’t wait to do it again!
On a whim, I purchased a lesson for one off of Groupon. Joe is an amazing teacher. His passion and love for glassblowing is magnetic. I hope to invest in the 3 hour class with him. The gallery space is inspiring, a lovely escape from Seattles grey winter.
We had a fabulous time! They were safe with covid regulations, which was a huge part for us. Joe was an awesome teacher who took the time to really teach us what he was doing. Would highly recommend.
I was hesitant to visit Seattle Glassblowing because I never had an interest in glassblowing. My fiancé told me that I would have a great time. After creating a glass bowl, I cant wait to create another piece. This place is hot! Wear a long sleeve shirt, jeans, and closed toe shoes or boots. The clothes are to protect from the direct heat, not from the red-hot glass. Bring a bottle of water, thick gloves, and a camera. The direct heat will really make your hands hot, so wearing gloves is a really good idea.If you make a glass bowl you will blow air inside the glass and suck some of the air out at the end. My advice on the blowing and sucking, go slow or you may cause the glass to crack when water is applied.Dont forget to tip your glassblowing instructor when your class is done.
It looks cool. We booked a class.
It was a amazing experience. And getting a piece of art work (what you made) to take home made it even better. The instructor made us feel at ease. Big thumbs up!
Great experience - would definitely do it again as glass blowing is incredibly difficult. Id recommend asking which pieces are the most fun and complex to make, as I left wanting more!Tip for the teacher - let your students do more, and give them the chance to mess up. Sometimes felt like I wasnt doing anything, which was a bit underwhelming.
