Really confused about the negative reviews for this place. Sounds like folks wanted something other than Italian?? We were blown away by how good and understated this brunch was. No lines, EXCELLENT mimosa deal, and the handmade pasta??? Aghhh! I was extremely happy about my raw egg on top that I was encouraged to toss into my pasta sauce to make extra gooey. Course if you arent as into raw egg like me, you can get something like chicken and waffles. So good!
Service was fantastic, and the food is so fresh and delicious! I ordered the durum spaghetti with clams/mussels, and it was probably one of the best pastas Ive had. The spaghetti was so fresh and packed with flavor. Also ordered the chocolate budino with raspberry purée for dessert, and it was so delicious. The only thing is I wish the portion sizes were bigger for the price, but I would definitely come back here again!
Went here for the first time for a birthday. We all decided to go for family style. The food was absolutely delicious, and our server/chef was wonderful.Highly recommend going here. Will for sure go again in the future.
Offensively expensive for what it is. My wife and I went for our anniversary so Im trying to be positive and take it in stride but geez... We enjoyed the cocktails and our salad. She ordered vegetarian pasta that was ok but like half a cup of cooked pasta for $24. I ordered salmon and broccoli for $28 and both could have easily been done better at home. (Check out the sliced broccoli stalks!) All in all our bill was $150 w tip for what was not much food and pretty poorly executed. Id suggest they hire some quality kitchen staff and figure out portions and pricing if they want to stay in business. We dont need a ton of food, but we also dont want the feeling that are fools for paying to eat at this mediocre restaurant.
My team and I come here for lunch pretty regularly, and though it initially made a poor impression, Agrodolce is starting to grow on me. The first time I came, I had some kind of grains bowl -- it was like farro in onion broth, and I was in an anti-onion phase. Subsequent times I have had their durum bucatini with ragu (good) and their vegetable ash ditalini with duck and corn (very good). The one time I ordered dessert, it was beautiful and inventive.Note that the room is north-facing, and thus, a little chilly in the winter. Bundle up or be prepared to order hot tea.But in short, stick to the pasta and youll be alright!
Excellent food and friendly service. We had the carrot arancini, grilled octopus, fig and onion caramelle, and squid ink pasta. Everything was delicious, and perfectly paced. Dinner felt leisurely, but at no point did I wonder where our server was. This is a great date spot, or place for a quiet dinner with a small group.
Really disappointed in the waitstaff and the food. I was ignored several times by a server and we waited for over two hours for food. This place was promising especially when seeking out a good dining experience in the pandemic. Even with a limited staff and seating availability, it’s tough to come up with a reason for the standoffish service and rude tone in the owners voice when he came out to speak with us about our dissatisfaction. My rigatoni also came out cold and undercooked. I wish I could leave a better review, but quite honestly I am so disappointed in my night spent here. :(
One of the worst dining experiences of my life. I loved this place and brought some friends and the wait staff was dodgey and rude. It took two hours to get food for five people and when we asked about the wait, the waitress was dodgey and then didn’t come back to our table to refill drinks until food came. When the bill came after three hours, there was a 20% added gratuity not mentioned on the menu. When we asked the waitstaff about it, some man came out from the kitchen and was very aggressive and did not apologize for any of the rudeness or lack of timeliness. Our table paid $500 and received nothing back for the awful experience. Lost a customer for life. Food was okay but not stellar. Would love to have an intellectual discussion with the owner about the experience. Could have easily been resolved by waitstaff proactively explaining the delay.
Agrodolce caught my eye when me and my husband were in Fremont going to another restaurant in the area for Saturday lunch. Their fresh pasta sign outside lured us in. The tree in the middle of the restaurant and light from the sun roof added to the ambience. Our server was nice and food arrived quickly, however, the pasta did not melt in my mouth as I would expect from fresh pasta and I felt the flavours were missing for me.
Delicious Italian food with homemade pasta. All of our entrees were perfect. Highly recommend the ricotta cavatelli and the broccoli. The service and atmosphere was wonderful. They even have plenty of vegan options.
The quality of the food was exceeded only by the superb service. A fairly small establishment that can get a bit loud at times, but not terribly so. I had the pork chop. Cooked and seasoned to perfection. I will definitely go back.
Update: Im increasing my review to 5 stars. I just returned from a small work dinner. The four of us had the chefs choice / family style meal. Each dish was well executed and interesting. Great service. Really couldnt be happier. Probably my favorite meal out in 2019.Im leaving my previous review for reference:My past experiences here would have merited 5 stars, but my most recent experience (first in the last year) would have merited 3 stars.Pros: This is a restaurant that is actually amenable to conversation - reasonable acoustics are ever harder to find in Seattle. Dishes that come out as intended can be quite amazing (Ive had great fish, chicken, and shellfish dishes here in the past). I usually have great experiences with the chefs choice / family style meal. This had been one of my favorite places for business dinners with 4-6 people, but it also works well for other occasions.Cons: My most recent meal here had significant service issues. Very slow and many dishes didnt make it to the table at their best. Think salad that had seemed to have been plated earlier in the day, apps that should be served at room temperature that came straight from a fridge (cold plate and all), and pasta that had cooled to room temperature by the time it made it to the table. Fortunately, the main course (seared black cod) was perfect. I hope that this was just an off night for the restaurant.
Agrodolce has fantastic handmade pasta. Everything is certified organic. The staff is amazing. Very gracious and helpful. The ambiance is great. The layout and lighting makes the space feel like a traditional Italian restaurant. There is also a bar area so you can go straight to cocktails if you wanted. Overall it was a great experience.
Staff was great. Seasonal pasta was delicious.
Delicious southern Italian food in a comfortable setting. Great gluten free options, very accommodating of dietary restrictions. Good drinks list. Really great staff. Highly recommend.
The service was great, the sever was very nice and the food was good
Great food, large portions, reasonable prices. What’s not to like? Fantastic brunch menu
Fantastic cocktails and very tasty original incredibly fresh food. The salad tasted like they went out back and picked it. The people are very nice. Seattle is my hometown and this is always one of the first places I like to go when I visit home. Great happy hour. They made my favorite aquavit cocktail, which I discovered here, and I am hoping it will make its way back to the menu.
Food was good, but honestly not worth the price. Portion sizes are on the smaller side. Nice atmosphere. Parking is ten dollars across the street. Staff are really friendly.
The food is simple and delicious. I get its just pasta - give this a try. Youll be glad you had the chance to sample all the homemade noodles! The service is excellent, and they maintain the same high standards as their sister-restaurant, Tilth.
A nice, cozy spot in Fremont. The decor is beautiful and the service wasnt bad either. I wasnt blown away by the food. The portions are pricey and generally small. I wouldnt come here starving unless you have lots of money to spend. The chicken and waffles was a really popular item and the carbonara good, but again small amount.
I enjoyed the food very much. Not enough to return though. Im sure ambiance is part of this restaurant experience, but spending upwards of 2 hours (no joke), mostly waiting for the server to figure out how to help their tables (all 3 of them), taking your order in parts (extremely delaying courses), and getting it to the kitchen in one piece (confirming after 20 minutes of taking an order) is not a repeat event I ever want to endure again. Especially for the price. Food 5 stars! Service 1 star.
ATTENTION OWNERS OF THIS BUSINESS: We went for brunch and the food was good (4 stars) but the ambiance was ruined by the extremely poor choice of music. Apparently the manager gets to decide its choice of music. Unfortunately the manager working the Saturday morning brunch shift thinks that 90s hip hop is acceptable music for this type of establishment. We couldnt wait to get out of there. The one star is to get the attention of the owners and is reflective of the level of impact the poor music choice had on us.
Always delicious! Staff is friendly and helpful. The space is beautiful. Amazing pasta, great brunch! Something for everyone, veg and allergy friendly.
Amazing service. They really made an effort to personalize the meal to our restrictions and tastes. Cozy atmosphere and a great wine selection. Bread and broccoli are definitely must try for the starters!
Was here with some friends and ordered the family meal it was simultaneously the most expensive and least satisfying food Ive had in the city. The salad had no dressing, the pasta tasted like airport chow mien, the main consisted of over cooked steak, and under cooked eggplant. Could have cooked this entire meal much better and for a fraction of the astronomical price they charge. Very mediocre.
Food was fine but definitely not worth the high price tag. much better pasta in other parts of the city for the less.
My partner and I had a great time here. The food was really good and the service was great. We were lucky enough to go when it wasnt too busy. The family style meal is definitely worth it. Its just a pity we got a small dish of pasta which is what they pride themselves on (so we were told). Was all still good regardless. Definitely worth a try :D
Polite staff but the food was average. My vegetarian pasta was average and my friends steak grossly undercooked. Place was quiet enough on a Tuesday night for a team dinner
Brunch is really good here and they put a bucket of water at the dog park when they turned the water off. Big ups on the dog park move
This was a great Southern Italian place. The food was very good. The atmosphere was cozy. The wait staff was pleasant but not invasive.
I truly enjoyed this place. Tasty food, nice rotating menu, and endless mimosas for brunch. Super friendly staff, I really always enjoy coming here.
Great food and relaxing atmosphere. This place was a nice place to have a birthday. I took away one start for one reason. The waiter took away my husbands plate before he was finished. He didnt ask if he was done, he simply removed it. Before my husband could say anything he piled other plates on top of his unfinished plate. It was a bit odd but didnt ruin the evening and I would still recommend going and will be back.
Agrodolce is a fabulous Italian restaurant! While visiting Seattle, my Mom and I stopped in for lunch and ordered two of the homemade pasta dishes. The Coffee Flour Pappardelle & Sugo and the Red Wheat Spaghetti were both cooked to perfection and topped with the house marinara sauce, which exploded with southern Italian flavors. We are from New England, grew up in an Italian family and rarely give an Italian restaurant 5 stars! If you’re in Seattle and looking for homemade Italian food made from the freshest ingredients, Agrodolce is the place to go!
Ask the Chef to just surprise you and what you get is divine! Delicioso!! Back for more soon . Vino and Food Delicious.
Absolutely amazing! Fresh ingredients, you can tell immediately at first bite! Service is wonderful. Wine selection and cocktails all great as well. Casual and classy all in one.
(1) It took us one hour to get our food; we were warned that the chicken takes 30 mins, but one hour is different; there was only one person who was working the whole floor--I really felt bad for this person, this person looked stressed and was doing the best they can; (2) the chicken was good; (3) we also had squid ink pasta--this was truly a puzzling dish because this is supposed to be a pasta restaurant; the shrimp ball was tasty--but the pasta and the sauce--flavorless, the sauce tasted like boiled water--no taste of garlic or any herb, maybe a hint of the liquid the beans come with in the can. No flavor pasta. Maybe it was the chefs day off?
Excellent Italian food. We had a lovely mushroom arancini and a coffee rigatoni with excellent ragu. Definitely reminded us of our trip this year to Italy.
Locally sourced, seasonal, organic ingredients, handmade pasta and delicious desserts are just a few highlights of the culinary experience at Agrodolce. Its generally busy on the weekends, although not overcrowded. With a casual atmosphere and simple decor, their focus is clearly on creating amazing and interesting dishes with high quality ingredients. Its a great place to visit often so you can experience new items from their menu that changes monthly.
My fiance and I did the family style course and shared a bottle of Moscato for an anniversary. We had fantastic service, loved the food, and are very full right now. I appreciated that our waiter was more than happy to tell the chef about my dietary preferences.
Nice looking restaurant. Apps were good. My sister and Is penne pasta was undercooked and had a consistency like rubber. After the first bite I was bored of the flavor and constant chewing. All other pastas ordered (3 types) were thick, all the pasta stuck together in clumps, and the sauce was lacking there of and in flavor. Truly disappointed and will not return.
Really nothing special. I think there are better places for dinner nearby in this price range. Additionally, service was pretty slow and they werent even busy.
Creative rotating menu of handmade pastas. The food here is delicious and inventive. The price here is a little high but I felt it was well worth it. Definitely get bread for the table the handmade focacia is delicious and worth the price.
Good food, dressy (well-accessorized) pasta with lots of great choices on the menu. Kids are not immediately welcomed, but if you persist, they have great kid options and patient service. Yummy wines, as well.
Nice ambience, decent food but nothing special. Ordered the mafalda which was well done though the sauce was very acidic/ tart. Salad and bread were fresh and the dessert good. Will try another entree next time and update....
When I looked at the menu, I was a bit confused about what to order and the flavor descriptions of the dishes where hard for me to wrap my head around. We took our servers recommendations for appetizers and pasta and I was blown away by the flavor of every dish. So, so delicious, unique, fresh, YUM. I loved the ambiance, decor, and attentiveness of wait staff. Highly recommend!
This was my worst experience ever. We wait for 2.5 hours for 5 courses, the worst thing was we told them I have lactose intolerance, they totally forgot it and the whole meal made with diary products... And, they automatically charge tip.. Don’t ever come here again.
Been there 3x and have never had a disappointing moment. Taste buds bliss and pretty great service. They have this fried chunk of hummus with carmelized red onions that is hiding under a slab of fish on the menu. I was babbling about it for days.
Had higher expectations going in based on recommendations. The pasta was my least favorite part of my meal, which was disappointing. The charred broccoli was delicious though! They werent super busy, but there were only two staff working the entire dining room, porch & hostess stand so the service was slow. Friendly waitress made that a bit easier to stomach. :)
Eggplant entree was wonderful. So was my Negroni cocktail (no Campari!). Will go back soon.
Food was burnt, not good taste. Ordered drink, we didnt get right away, we waited for a long time. Im not playing to go and eat there again.
Fantastic meal, with wonderful service. We chose the family meal -- what it was would be a surprise based on the whim of the chef. And we were NOT disappointed! We like to eat locally sourced organic food at home, and this was tastier -- some creative preparations that we wouldnt have thought of.
It was out of the way to get to, but brunch was pretty great. The food selections were limited and very hipster. The best part (and the reason that we specifically planned to go) was the bottomless mimosas. Make sure to make a reservation ahead of time, or youll be waiting!
So delish. An amazing brunch experience. The potatoes changed my life!
The pasta dishes are really good and unique. The portions are perfect. Really fresh ingredients. Had a great time!
Delicious, unique food and wonderful relaxed but fun atmosphere. Staff is warm, welcoming and helpful! Love this place.
I always love any Maria Hines restaurants, no exception with Agrodolce. Delicate flavor, well prepared and just a great experience. This is date worthy and has a fantastic happy hour menu.
The bright side and good cooking makes for a fantastic breakfast/brunch service! The dinner is tasty too, but it seems like the dinner plates have less variety - maybe that was just the pre fixe meal I had, though. The service has always been fantastic apart from the pre fixe meal I had - there was quite a wait to get all of our food out :(
Good and authentic Italian restaurant. Food is good, service is fast. The place was crowded on Saturday evening but luckily got seats quickly.
Yummy Italian. Service staff needs a bit of training. Overall pleasant experience, though.
Was here with my friends group on my birthday. Trauma is the word. Wines were served badly, food was an embarrassment and the servers were rude. Tons of other fun hip places in Seattle. I came in seeing the awesome reviews, but probably the cook was having a bad day. Whatever!
Went in for brunch and the place was pretty cool. Good food and the server was very friendly. I definitely recommend their brunch.
Enjoyed my dinner here. The hand-made pasta was very good. They also offer several vegan and gluten-free options.
We attended the mother’s day fixed-price brunch. I fear new owners have ruined this restaurant. Service was shockingly slow (3 small, underwhelming courses delivered 45min-1hour apart). Food was delivered cold. Upcharges were everywhere and grossly over-priced ($5 drip coffee on top of a $45 price fix?). And advertised substitutions to accommodate dietary restricts didn’t materialize. For instance, when my daughter ordered the gluten free eggs Benedict, instead of gluten-free bread, she just got eggs and hollandaise on a plate. We had eaten here years ago and had a much better time. For over $400 for a party of 6 after tax tips and upcharges I would have expected at least decent. This was terrible.
The pasta in all three of the dishes we ordered were severely undercooked - not even close to al dente. You could tell they were undercooked just by looking at them - they did not settle on the plate as pasta should. I ordered the seasonal pasta, which I was told was with heirloom tomatoes and sweet peppers, but there were only a few tiny pieces of tomato and the peppers were clearly bell peppers (they were in large chunks and gave the dish a clear bell pepper flavor). The entrees had no visual appeal whatsoever. The polenta fries and broccoli appetizers were l delicious, though.I am disappointed because previously I had a 5-star experience here, probably over a year ago. I came back especially for the broccoli, which was still quite good, but the entrees were very disappointing.
Recommend their happy hour, including their rotating pasta special. All of their dishes come out fresh and packed with flavor.
Good but a bit pricey. The pasta you get is great, but definitely not worth $20+
Crespelles were the best Ive ever had. And as a bonus the rosemary cake was perfectly dense and just sweet enough
The pasta itself was very good, however we felt the sauce had way too much vinegar and the eggplant lasagna was actively bad. Not sure if this was just an off night, but unlikely to try again for a while.
They has great pasta they make it themselves. The service was excellent. I would go here again 5/5.
The food was ok. Parking horrid. I hate bad reviews. The atmosphere was cool?
The food is truly seasonal, incentive, and delicious. Great place for a date and get the chefs tasting menu to take that date from great to unforgettable.
Some of the best homemade pasta in Seattle. Tasting menu is the way to go here. Or brunch for bottomless mimosas. The dining area is heaven.
Went for lunch during restaurant week. Started with the Chickpea Fritter, and let me tell you, theres a reason those words are singular. The plate came out with literally two small florets of fried cauliflower and one cubic inch of what I assume was fried chickpea. Sure, its an appetizer, but come on. For the main course, I had the spicy salami panini, which was decent. The dessert was (apple cake) was good. Service was OK although it wasnt crowded. Docked two stars entirely because they should be ashamed to serve that portion of appetizer.
Love love love this place. Came here for their thanksgiving meal which was an absolute delight. Also good for regular dinner.
Good food, great service, peaceful energetic atmosphere.... perfect for date night!
Five stars for brunch. The sweet pistachio pancakes are amazing and cant refuse those bottomless mimosas! Dinner, on the other hand, is good...not great. Id choose MHs Tilth over Agrodolce every time.
Not as great as anticipated underwhelming taste for all the plates at our table expected more for the price
Wow. What didnt we love about this experience?! We celebrated our 6 month anniversary and the presentation of our wedding photos with our friend and photographer last night... we sat down and all immediately loved the atmosphere. We chose the family style dinner and were totally blown away. After our delicious charcuterie plate we were served a spring salad, then mussels and clams (in a tomato sauce I wanted to swim in), then housemade pasta with housemade sausage (WOW), then salmon on a bed of bitter greens and a side of brocc/cauli/mushrooms cooked in wine. And THEN there was chocolate cake. If this doesnt make you want to eat here, what will? Great service? They have that too.
Ecletic menu; pricey. Service friendly but restrained. Probably would not go back but some would enjoy their offerings. Nothing terrible, nothing to rave about.
Amazing homemade pasta and salads. Would love to come back to explore the rest of the menu!
Hard to find anything good on the menu both times we’ve been here. Always been empty as well
Very good food great staff
Nice and not too large but delicious dishes, calm place and they serve grappa. The service did overdue it a bit with advertising the food, in my opinion, but was very friendly and competent for selecting food and wine. I would go there again.
The caramelized broccoli was too salty. Entree was just so-so. Very loud clients. I was also surprised that the restaurant got so cold before closure, even though there were still 6 customers in the restaurant. Seems like they might have turned the heater off. I doubt I will be back again.
This place is the most racist restaurant Ive ever been to! I am a African american male who went to this restaurant with my girl friend who is white. I went with her mom and dad who are white. I am the only African American male in this restaurant. The server comes and ask if we want drinks we all order. The server who is a white lady servered my girl friend, served her mother then served another table and came back and gave me my drink. When it was time to refill drinks she only asked my girl friend and her mother for drinks to be refilled. She never made eye contact with me or ask me if I wanted my drink to be refilled. What a great way to spend Easter 4/16/2017.Who ever the manager is this needs to be addressed and fixed! I can even point out the server who served me everybody at my table can!
Lovely, leisurely brunch on the weekends. Plus they take reservations for brunch. The focaccia French toast bites are amazing.
We have been here twice. I wanted to give it a second chance before reviewing because I wanted to like it. Its local, organic and Sicilian. However the food is not good and the service is slow. We went once for brunch and it was mediocre and we tried dinner at 530 when there was only one other table occupied. My partners pasta came out luke warm and was bland. We waited 20 minutes for the server to bring us our check. Again only one other table.Price wise its on par with all the other restaurants in the area, we paid 15 to 17 each per entre plus tip and tax.Its a cute restaurant with a great concept. Hopefully they fix the problems.
This place is a scam, and our experience was a disaster.1. Tiny portion for the price we paid2. Waited for almost 90mins after ordering, even though the place (I wouldnt call it a restaurant) is only about 20% full. It feels like the server is also the cook? I dont know, but I am pretty sure it would take me less time to buy the ingredients from the PCC across street and cook the dish myself.3. The pasta tasted like yakisoba from next door, but this place charge you triple.4. We got tricked into ordering soup/salad. Yes, there was the fine print about how much the soup/salad cost, but the way Kurt the server asked made it sounds like it was a combo that come with the pasta.5. Kurt the sever charged us extra, both in the item price and in tax (he charged the tax based on subtotal+tips). He know we are in a rush to get back to work. The seasonal pasta got charged $1 more, and the spaghetti marinara got charged $4 more. What a scam.6. I would like to say something to Kurt the server, but due to the general guideline of Yelp, I am not gonna say it here.7. I hope this place get closed, so there wont be more victims from their scam.In conclusion, come to this place if you like any of the following:1. waste of time2. hunger3. being scammed4. disaster5. get charged unreasonably
Flavors really well balanced. Knowledgeable server. Food a little slow in coming, but this is only their 3rd night.
Amazing food and service!
