Id like to preface this with Ken Townley is the go to man for your sales needs.I purchased a 16 T680 from Palmer Trucks in October. It was a higher mileage truck but it met my needs. Ken was super professional, accommodating and kept great communication in the beginning stages, working with my personal bank for documentation and the like. I flew up from GA to get the truck. Went for a test drive, talked shop, and went over the issues the truck had and what he could do to make it work. He sold me on their True North warranty after taking the time to explain the good, bad and ugly about it and what hes witnessed first hand. He made no bones about telling me like it was instead of trying to glaze over it.After leaving and having the truck for about a month, Ken called back to check in on me and the truck and to inquire about registration and tax process for GA since he was aware of this being my first rodeo. Ken took the time to contact a colleague at a dealership in Atlanta to try to get information on how to best file for registration and exemption of sales tax. In the end I didnt qualify due to not having my own authority but the fact Ken took the time to bend over backwards to try and help me well after I was long gone speaks volumes about his character and the business that employs him.He called yesterday, 12/22/20, to check back in with me before the new year to see how everything was going and to see if there was anything else he might could help me with. Again, Ill reiterate, Ken is the man to see because youre not just a sale, youre another person trying to make it in this world.

Bought parts here last weekend since I just moved to Ohio. Guy at counter acted like he hated his job and took forever to give me my oil seals. That I ordered a week ago. Called this weekend needing a standard wiper motor part number. They wouldnβt give me a part number due to the fact I βmay use it to buy somewhere elseβ. When in fact I ordered parts last week and you clowns ordered the wrong ones. No problem Iβll continue doing business at MHC which includes truck purchases.

Needed acceleration issue and error codes addressed. GENE MOORE, met me as I asked him for directions to the front desk of the location. Although I didnt realize I was mistakenly asking for the wrong part of the building, GENE treated me with a great amount of professionalism as if I was his responsibility to getting to the right location.I was eventually redirected back to the Body Shop/Maintenance department. GENE kindly explained he couldnt anticipate exactly when my truck could be attended to by a mechanic. He provided me with options which included showing me the Drivers Lounge and its amenities, such as the washing machine/dryer, shower, and coffee bar should my stay become proplonged.I was impressed with how GENE empathized with my disappointment of the delay I was facing due to it being Friday. Most places overlook this type of customer service GENE displayed, because its not considered as important as repairs done in the garage. Wrong! I will go out of my way to bring my business here due to GENEs customer service and secondly because my truck was repaired in a timely manner.Thank you GENE for being a living epistle. π π
Worst experience ever, we approved them to look at truck you give us a quote, they said they must take apart and take pictures for warranty. They took that approval and fixed the truck and charges us $6000. Knowing that is not owned by the driver they let the driver authorize $700 for additional 4 shocks to be changed with out our authorization. Called talked to Jean he said everything is on recorded line i asked for the recordings can not provide and all he says is Im sorry for how it all happened . Luke Smith the service manager is no where to be found

Had my tractor repaired and new batteries installed. Called to have a tow pick it up and batteries were dead as well as several other trucks in front of it that had to be moved for access.Normally not an issue however i called two hrs ahead of tome and confirmed with service that it was accessible and to start the tractor to ensure it was running correctly and ready for pick up .Unfortunately they did none of it and all i can say is thankfully the tow driver was patients and got the job done professionally for them
Power steering went out and to drop off Friday morning. Told me they would get to it right away. Monday morning i got the call the the steering was fixed and a few other things... AC charged up.. Clutch adjusted.. Very fast and awesome work for a very very short notice.. Will definitely be taking my truck there from now on..Thanks Palmer Trucks.
Great Service!!!!! I had a fan belt and tensioner pulley go out on me and had to get towed in. They started on me before the tow truck driver left. I really appreciated that. Unfortunately, I had to spend the night at a hotel because they didnt have my belt in stock. The belt was in the next day around 2:30pm and I was back rolling around 4pm that day.Thanks RYANThanks SPENCER
Worst place to do service. Dropped truck to Gene Moore and he said it will be ready in 2 days. But it wasnβt ready even after a week. And also, super expensive place. They Did nothing to my truck. Windshield wiper reservoir still leaking and coolant reservoir still leaking that I took in to get replaced or repaired. They stated both were still under warranty but nothing was fixed. They had my truck for 2 days. Not happy at all that I have to take to another dealership or Thermo King to resolve or just keep buying fluids to replace when they leak out. Friendly staff tho.
Gene in service is the best. He is dog friendly and Gene made the entire repair process go smooth.

Everyone was nice. They treated us with repect and had a really nice and spacious drivers lounge. There was a tv and comfortable chairs. Clean bathrooms and a microwave to heat up food.
2nd shift is awesome, even if it took 2 extra days to get my truck up and running. But to fair it was not their fault for another warehouse in Atlanta forgetting to ship out the parts on Friday. The mechanic Seth was very helpful in letting me know the process of what we were looking at. And lets not forget Ryan who was kind and insightful.
They usually have what I need when I need it. I needed an alternator this time and to my surprise they were cheaper than anyone else.

I am not a kenworth customer but I admire their operations they have nice facility and great sales team. I think with KW being a great truck that use Cummins engine people should buy it over Volvo or freightliner

Absolutely Fantastic. I showed up on the night crew with only a 30 minute notice, and two mystery problems on my truck. These guys answered all my questions, diagnosed my issues, fixed them, handled a recall item, got a one hour regen, and a lunch break in 3.5 total hours. If you have the time, definitely save your problem for the night crew. Theyre awesome.

Stopped in unannounced and they were backed up in service for several days. Gentlemen at the service desk (Gene) came out with his code reader, downloaded, printed, and walked back to his Techβs with the codes. Came back to inform me it was an intake heater fault and Iβm good to continue our trip. 5 star service!
Have been here since 1/15/2020 0930 it is currently 1730 I have not been updated once on an eta on my truck. I went to ask about eta was told they hadnβt started working on my truck as of yet I asked if I needed to get a room for the night and was told as long as itβs an easy fix they can do it tonight still not giving me an eta! Poor customer care!!!!!! No communication!!Update at 1841 Tom called from PacLease in Wichita Kansas states he was trying to call them and there was no answer I went to the service desk and relayed the information 30 minutes later the mechanic working on my truck came and updated me....I did not pull out until 2200.....COMMUNICATION is key in business!!!

The woman that answered the phone isnt very polite. I can only imagine how much business this place loses. It doesnt matter when you call them they tell you they wont start on your truck for 7-10 days. So we called Dayton and Indianapolis (all Palmers) and they were polite and both said theyd get it in Friday/Monday at the latest. So we had it towed to Dayton and as we were leaving they were starting on the truck. NEVER will we waste time or energy on Cincinnati Kenworth.
Came in for DOT inspection and axle bearing inspection. Charged over $600 for checking the truck over to tell me what needs Repair. Apparently this takes 5 hours. Driver came in Monday morning, was asked to return Tuesday morning. We left 5 days later on Saturday. Will never come here again.
Went in bc no heat in front cab. The were all nice and funny. Went in and they knew what was wrong. Explained. Had us up and going in few hours. Really nice people. They have showers in mens room. A driver lounge with a coffee pot vending machine and a big TV. Comfortable chairs. They have washier and dryer. Thank you for helping out.

This area is the Black hole of trucking. Freightliner and International are even worse. my advice is to GET OUT..

Purchase an air compressor and air dryer in August 2017. They charge a core fee even if you bring in the core. (Standard practice) The compressor failed 4/2 this year. Was returned on 4/12. They charged me for the new compressor and a $400 core and said it would be 20 to 30 days on the refund. Furthermore the air dryer is full of oil from part failure and was told there would be no warrantee on that part. 28 days later still waiting for a refund. After multiple calls and 2 additional trips to the dealer with all original paperwork finally they tell me the claim has been filled and it will be 20 to 30 more days to be processed. If your and independent trucker and dont have a fleet dont bother with Palmer......they could care less about you or the success of your family owned business. Buy your parts anywhere but here.
