I had my transmission changed at their shop. Along with that they identified a leak in the gas tank while they were checking things out. After a long and costly repair the first time around i drove my car for two weeks then had to be back in their shop for a new problem with the gas tank which was never an issue before. My guess is they botched something up in the gas tank probably because they did not know what they were doing. The worst part about this is that when i returned my car there for a re-look, they were not responsive and claimed that they were not able to identify the problem and put it on the back burner like its not something they want to deal with. And they never bothered to call or follow.I ended up taking my car to a different shop to replace my entire gas tank and EVAP system which cost me an additional 1500 $.Bottom line, no professionalism or courtesy they just want your money. Very unfortunate waste of time and money there.

Our car is 24 years old most places told us our car wasn’t worth the fix or parts are hard to find. I’m so happy that Josh and the team at Cincinnati Transmission were able to see the value in our car and able to put the transmission back to better than new. Every time we drive the car we are amazed at how awesome our car drives. Thank you - you are our people!

Great experience, Josh and the team at Cincinnati Transmission were so helpful, friendly, knowledgeable, and patient with me and my family as we asked a great deal of questions. They went above and beyond to help me in a difficult situation. Having a transmission go out and the cost associated with having it fixed or replaced is not an easy one and they really made me feel better about the whole process. They have the best warranty and their price is in-line with others who might not offer the same kind of warranty. I could go on and on about how happy I am with their service, but do not take it solely from me, give them a call and check them out for yourselves.

After months of experiencing a worsening steering wheel shake which could not be fixed by another mechanic or the local dealership I took my car to CTS. Josh and the team had the problem diagnosed by lunch time on day 1 and had the car fixed the next day. The 3 year warranty they gave me lets me know that the issue is fixed for good! I cannot recommend CTS highly enough!

Came in with a parking pawl issue. My truck would roll upon in park. I was expecting this to be a transmission job where they had to drop the transmission and re build some stuff. Expecting to spend around $2500. Upon inspection they found a loose cable, and fixed that up real nice and pretty.I asked them to do brakes and rotors. So total bill was less than $700 and my truck feels brand new. Called on a Wednesday, was in on Friday morning and picked up my truck around 3pm the same day.very happy customer. Will return with any future needs.

CTS replaced my transmission, squoze as much money as they could out of the cheap warranty company, that tried everything they could to not cover their portion of the repairs. Their knowledge, experience, and accessibility made this expensive process as pleasant as possible. I had just purchased a house when my transmission went out, so I was watching every penny like a hawk They where extremely patient with me being cheap, and trying to rushing the completion along. If you have your vehicle repaired at Cincinnati Transmission Specialist you will drive off feeling confident in the repairs, and appreciative of the friendly service, and fair pricing.

I looked at the 4.5 rating and thought good to go! Bad mistake and reviews show a trend of not communicating to customers / failure to complete on or near the timeframe discussed. I should have read the reviews. However, the one week to fix the car that turned into three weeks was the best part of my experience at CTS.The paying upfront $2.3K is first red flag I overlooked…they have your money so what’s the hurry to complete. Or did they request my money upfront because they damage my driver side door and passenger side quarter panel (door now hits quarter panel). This is when the real run around began.Went to pick-up car after three weeks…no voice or warranty (printer not working), will email (never received). I had the service person come look at the damage to my car…Josh will call you. No phone call, so I called Josh and was told “I am sure if someone did it here, they would’ve told me”. However, we (CTS) have 18 cameras, get me a chance to review the footage. A couple days go by, no call. So, I called and explained to Josh that all you need to do is review the footage the day it arrived (my wife took a picture of the car on the tow truck – no damage at that time). Great idea.Of course, the day my car was dropped off the footage was gone / deleted but we will do you right…I am sure it’s not our fault but will replace the door / fix the damage…can you drop the car off for us to get an estimate from a body shop. I dropped the car off the next day and notice it wasn’t running correctly and told Josh about it (thought it was not shifting gears correctly). I was told it was ball bearing and they would fix it for free ($700) due to damage if we wanted them to do it. I kindly reject the offer, just fix the damage to my car please.Call after call about estimate (waiting on body shop excuse) and me offering to drop it off at the body shop for repair. I did find out from Josh that the body shop never looked at the car when I dropped it off (they were too busy) …thanks for wasting my time again. Finally, after three more weeks of dealing with CTS (six weeks total). Rick the owner offers $300 and stated they will NOT fix the damage. Up to this point, I had been understanding / nice about getting strung long & buying into their lies. I had enough and said, “three weeks of dealing with this “F word BS” and lies that you were going to fix the damage to my car”. Of course, Rick was offended of such language and hung up on me.I immediately drove to the shop and talked with Josh …demanded my invoice and warranty info which I was promised three weeks ago when I picked up my car.18 cameras – I asked to look at footage and course nothing came from that request. I spent 23 years in the military…traveling all over the country and by far my first/worst experience in the dealing with any automotive repair company. The integrity, accountability and unprofessional behavior of CTS is rated ZERO. My recommendation: Take your car somewhere else!! If CTS is your only option - DO NOT pay upfront, trust nothing they tell you and good luck!!

They took it in and checked it out found something failed and it went out it was under warranty still. They completely redid e everything on it and installed a cable I was going to do myself and never charged me a dime. Waiting for a Ford dealership to work on the car would take several weeks. Cincinnati transmission was extremely friendly, helpful and competent. On the last occasion he was 100% dishonest with me. We had a conversation and he said he would cover 50% of the charge and we would owe him about $500 to make the situation good. That was reasonable so I agreed. A week later the job was done and along came a bill for $1500. I reminded Rick of our conversation and his price quote, even found my notepad where I documented the time/call/price and he would not move. He 100% lied and couldnt have cared less. Havent used him since and turn off every customer I can from going there. Mistakes happen as no one is perfect but he flat out lied and didn’t bother him a bit.*Update*. So I took the lump and dropped it off at CTS at the recommendation of a pal. So I brought a Hyundai Elantra to them in July to have a diagnostic on a transmission problem that was making it necessary to use the trans interlock to shift out of park. We decided to go another direction with the car at that time but decided recently to have the problem fixed.I made an appt for December 9th and took the car in for what was diagnosed originally as a short in the wiring between the range sensor and computer. In retrospect, all they really did was read the codes the cars computer was putting out and made no effort to really figure out the root cause. After many promises for call backs, that were never made, and pleas of the need for additional time to work on the car, I went to pick up the car on the afternoon of December 13th. I was told by an employee that the car had massive electrical issues and whoever I took it to was going to have the car for many days to figure out what was wrong.Im not totally unhandy so I decided to pull and check every fuse due to a thread on the internet regarding issues similar to mine. The one labeled backup lights was blown. I replaced it and the car was fixed. I cant imagine what they really did to figure out was wrong with the car that took 5 days. My guess is they did nothing. Dont waste your time or money here. They never return phone calls and are beyond incompetent. Believe me they will not return your calls.

Terrible customer service. They never call when they say they will. I was quoted $3,054 for a new radiator and transmission. I paid upfront and was told it would take 3-4 days to complete. I called on day 5 after not hearing anything and was told by josh the parts were on back order. The repair took 14 days. My engine overheated and the radiator blew 10 days later due to dried coolant being left on the thermostat. Get the truck back and a few weeks later the check engine light is on again. This time I’m told it’s the catalytic converters, and I need a coil pack. Was also told I needed a wheel bearing based on the noise the front end was making. I had them do the repairs, and they found the pig tail connector wires were completely melted from where it over heated. Picked up the vechicle and was told there was still some noise coming from the front end due to the front differential going bad. They serviced the differential when they replaced the transmission and it was fine then. My truck was still making the same noise it was before they replaced my wheel bearing but now I’m told it needs a $2,600 front differential? Yeah ok.... since May 7 they had my vehicle over 30 days and after paying over $4,400 in repairs, my truck still wasn’t running properly. I ended up trading it in since I knew there was heavy engine damage from where it over heated. I really wanted to like this business, but I can’t based on their complete lack of follow up and terrible service on my vehicle. Funny, I left a negative review on their Facebook page last night and now for some reason I can’t see their page, which means they blocked me or they took it down. Do yourself a favor and take your vehicle to a reputable shop that won’t leave you hanging for weeks at a time. They make you pay upfront and once they get your money, you get nothing but runaround and excuses why your vehicle won’t be ready when promised.

I wanted to give them a higher rating but after taking back my vehicle because the transmission is acting up again, I cant.First visit resulted in them keeping my car for two weeks and I had to keep calling for updates as they wouldnt call me back. I opted for a rebuild rather than a used or new transmission. Big mistake because now that the car is doing exactly the same thing (bucking when trying to go into overdrive) they say its not the transmission, it needs a tune up. Now mind you, the bucking ONLY occurs when the torque convertor is trying to lock up. I worked with CTS August 2017 to get a clutch repaired. They installed a full clutch kit with warranty and confirmed the vehicle is all good: $570 labor (discounted price) + cost of parts = $900.Then early January 2018, I had my mechanic check the vehicle since I noticed noises while driving. They took it over to CTS for a review. CTS said the transmission needs to be replaced. When I spoke to the owner of CTS, he said their two vendors couldnt find any nearby used transmissions, only a rebuilt transmission for $1600 + $570 labor. I opted to find a used transmission. CTS agreed to put it in and said I would need to pay for labor once I dropped it off.On January 15th, I had the transmission ordered. It was 30% less than the rebuilt transmission price. It arrived at CTS January 18th, yet CTS did not call to notify me of this delivery. When I called CTS on January 22nd (Monday) to ask if it had arrived, the attendant confirmed it was there and said they could start work on it February 5th (Monday, two weeks later). I called back February 5th to push the drop off date to February 7th (Wednesday) and the attendant said that was fine. On February 7th, Cincinnati had an overnight ice storm so I had to thaw off the vehicle before bringing it over around 11am.When I arrived and paid, I asked how soon the vehicle will be done. The attendant confirmed by February 12th (Monday) and that theyll call me. Monday comes, yet I didnt see any calls from CTS so I called after 12pm and they said theyll need until Thursday. I call back on February 15th (Thursday) around the same time and the attendant says again they need two more days to work on it. I asked if I could speak with the owner. They had to put me on hold to call the owner, then came back and said one of their mechanics was out sick so CTS had been busier than usual and to give them until February 19th (Monday) to finish. I said that I really needed this done by then because I needed it for a February 22nd trip I had planned four months prior.I called on February 19th (Monday), and the attendant said they would call me back with an update in the afternoon. I received no call back. I called again on February 20th around 11am and they confirmed that they would need another 2-3 days to get the work done. I asked to speak with the owner and better understand what is going on. At first, the front desk attendant said that the owner would call me back. I said that the place hasnt owned up to calling me back before so he put me on hold, then suddenly the owner was on. He said the sick mechanic was still out and their backlog was long so thats why they havent been able to finish the work. The owner then said that I could take the vehicle to another transmission service and CTS will refund my payment. I asked the owner what work had been done so far and he said nothing. So after making some calls, I decided on another shop, went to CTS for a refund, they loaded the transmission into the vehicle and I left. This situation affected my trip plans, yet I saved $250 on labor by switching shops.During the repair, the other shop had to cut out the slave cylinder since they said the line melted, it was the first time they’ve seen that happen (and the transmission on another vehicle at their shop had the same issue), and they replaced it. I found this out after I called for an update. Since I knew this was warrantied with CTS, I notified the shop owner and he agreed to store the new one if CTS preferred to replace the old part and install it, then re-box theirs. So with vehicle in-hand, I visited CTS for a solution and on a day the owner was there. He spoke with condescension, laced in you-should-have’s, tried to blame me for ‘communication failures’, blamed the other shop’s ‘failure to remove the part’, and shared warranty requirements on “types of part failures” that weren’t even documented on their original invoice so the guarantee was a muck.I am grateful for this experience. I recommend everyone take CTS words with a grain of salt and shop around first.
