Very nice place for the family to have fun. We enjoyed tubing in the summer. They also have a selected of lawn games.
Great place to learn how to ski. They thought my 4 year old, and 2 cousins before her. Riley the group 2 instructor for the Sunday classes at 12:30 is amazing. She is supper patient, great teacher and amazing with children. You can tell that she cares about her students and with that level of patients must love what she does. in the beginning my daughter did not want to ski in any shape or form, after a few lessons with Riley she was getting herself ready on Sundays. Thank You Riley!!!
Great family business and welcoming staff! After years of contemplation, I finally decided to take up snowboarding and Im glad my first experience was with this crew. The instructors were patient and really took the time to explain the fundamentals in way that made sense to me. Id say it was a awesome overall experience.
Update. They find the time time to respond to negative reviews on google but not to address customer concerns. Been almost a month. Still no refund from when they cancelled in us.This place is incredibly frustrating. Its a small family mountain, the kids lessons are better organized than at other small mountains and its a less of a zoo than Nashoba or Wachusett. However, I will never return. The customer service is horrendous. It is impossible to speak to a human, they never respond to issues, and they cannot blame this on the pandemic and being short staffed as they will even refuse to solve problems in person when you are already at the resort. It feels like they will gladly take your money, dont worry, its really easy to GIVE them your money online, but if there are any issues, you will not be able to reach a person to resolve it. The summer tubing broke, did they issue a refund when we showed up to find it broken, NO, they said we will email you a link to reschedule, and if you want a refund you can email us then. NO ONE RESPONDS TO THE EMAILS. If there is any issue, and THERE WILL BE, weve had issues and cancellations with them in the winter and summer, you will have to spend as much time as with your cable company trying to resolve that. Who has the time?! Im going to Blue Hills.
Great food and drink. The customer service is fantastic. I’ve been coming here ever since I learned how to ski a few years ago and haven’t stopped coming since!! It has a family oriented vibe makes it feel like a home away from home. Truly a great experience.
Small and Fun mountain to ski, we usually make a trip to Ward every year, as we always enjoyed skiing there. The mountain has a terrain park, and a half-pipe as well as a variety of trails. The mountain has a lot to offer beginner skiers, as well as snow tubing. Overall always a positive experience!
I brought my 7th girls basketball team to Ski Ward to snow tube yesterday and we had a great time. The lines moved quickly and we were able to get ample runs on the slopes within the 2 hour window. The staff were friendly and helpful. I will definitely revisit this place.
Starting taking my family to Ski ward last winter. Fun family atmosphere. My kids started snow tubing and now they are getting snowboarding lessons. The instructors are very knowledgeable and kids have fun during their lessons. Food is great and the staff extremely accommodating and welcoming.
I brought my brothers kids to ski here. I had a great lunch on the patio. The kids talked me into tubing which I did NOT want to do.. Thiat was the most fun I have had since we put masks on. I forgot how much fun sledding is. Dont just sit there. Grab some kids and have some fun.
Ski Ward a rare gem in our local community and landscape and the love that goes into Ski Ward is beyond what you could ever imagine. We are so fortunate to have acess to such a great local and family run operation. The snow is always great, the trails are so well groomed, the lifts are always running smooth -- theres no other place like Ski Ward!!!
My family and I had a great time. We went snow tubing, the ski and snowboarding mountains were very small. Great place to learn, not very extreme. We were there for a 2 hour block and it was plenty of time.I would recommend this place for families.
Great place, enjoyed tubing even in cold conditions. We dressed for it and were fine. Thank you Ski Ward, you did well despite dealing with all these stringent CV19 rules!
I felt I had to share a review of Ski Ward because me and my son had a blast there twice now and about to be three times after tomorrow. We came about a month ago for the first time to go snowtubing and wow it was so much fun. Decided to make a little trip during school vacation to go tubing a couple times. I highly recommend this place if you wanna have fun with your kids. Also thanks for getting me all situated with the raincheck you guys gave due to the bad weather.
Amazing experience! Loved the tuba slide! Staff was helpful and knowledgeable! Grateful to have some place to go, feel safe and enjoy the outdoors!
I am not happy with this place. Their staff are not helpful and there is not enough staff for the huge number of customers that they have. I was so disappointed with this place because when I was skiing down at the beginner area my wife used the surface lift, but since her board was not completely on the belt, it was pulled out and she felt down on the moving belt while there was no designated staff over there to stop the lift! We were lucky that she did not get injured! Before this happened to my wife the same thing happened to a child, but fortunately his dad was with him to help him to stand up while the lift was running as a result of the careless observation of their staff. I was at another ski resort area a few weeks ago where two staffs one on the top and one on the bottom constantly carefully watching people using their surface lift!
Great spot with great instructors, but customer service staff arent as friendly and incredibly difficult to reach via phone and email. Has put us off going since its so hard to find someone to connect and book with.Edit: you were so quick to respond to this review. If only the effort had been put into responding to the emails I had sent about a credit card issue that keeps appearing for ski ward. That would have been much more helpful. Stay off ur socials and get to the real customers. I even went in yesterday to try and get help and was told to please email! Wth! Ive been doing that. No one is helping. This pandemic didnt just happen yesterday. Everywhere else seems to be able manage it after 10+ months
The place isnt bad, however I wish it was more organized. Carpet lift is not properly maintained. There is a huge bulge of ice right where you enter it and a lot of people, especially kids, just fall right there because its hard to go over it wearing skis. When you go off there is the same problem, its plain ice and its hard to go through without falling. They used to have a rubber mat there last year but not this winter. The man made snow on the slopes was more like ice peppered by snow, which is hard to navigate for beginners.People who suddenly stop in the middle of the slopes or drop their equipment there are no fun as well, but that has nothing to do with the place itself.
A real gem if you have kids who are learning to ski or snowboard.. Small and safe with great lessons.
Great little ski place. Not crowded at all, the tubing area is nice, the lanes are not fast enough. The kids loved it, though.
Great place for my 8 & 9 yo to spend an afternoon skiing. They took lessons here and now they can use the slopes on their own.
Very crowded when we arrived, but the team there kept everyone moving. The hills are modest but fun. This is a good place for beginners.
Staff is rude and reservation system is flawed. Most likely a product of Dad buying the hill and letting his daughter run it - which is fine - but it’s the least customer friendly experience I’ve had - maybe ever. I feel bad for their staff as it’s a result of poor and unqualified leadership.
Small kid friendly mountain, tubing was great. For best experience go when temperatures are 30 or below. Hill warms up and makes for a slow ride.
Nice place to hone your skills, but definitely wouldnt recommend for experienced ski/ snowboarders due to the Ski Ward being more of a big hill then a moutain.
The place is nice, you can get a good speed going down the hills. I went there for the tubing and it was good. Once you get there theres no employee at the entrance, you check yourself in, it was a pure chaos of people cutting the line and nobody really knowing what to do and how to go in. The place is big and honestly there was about 8 staff members. That is not close to enough to handle the amount of people visiting on a sunday afternoon. They are not following social distancing and not asking anyone to follow it either. Theres no sign indicating where you should go. I got to the top of the hill for tubing and the line was a mess, when it was finally my turn I sat on my tube and was about to go down, this lady comes yelling at me saying I couldnt go down until she called my line number (even though there was no numbers lmao) and that was the first time I heard her voice as she was only giving attention to the lines on the other side. So I apologized and pointed out that she was not wearing an uniform or a tag so I didnt realized she was a staff member, she replied really rude. So its not very pleasant when you go to a place like this on a weekend to have fun and you are treated like that. I understand that there was too many lines for her to take care by herself, but thats no reason to be rude. I wish they had signs indicating the lines so people are not cutting you all the time.
Beware!! Ski Ward Ski Area are scam. I called and email thousand of time after they cancel my ticket day before the event. All the called went to the voice message. I event called Blue Hill Ski, which is like 20 minute away, to verify the Ski Ware Ski Area and the never heard of that place. For real? Its joke for someone promoting Ski Ward Ski Area on the website and Facebook to lure people. Disappointed!! Rate this company ZERO!!!!
Great family ski area something for everyone all levels, perfect for learn to ski, boarding and tubing. Good people, check it out 👍🏼
Tried snowtubing for the 1st time ever. Loved the experience! Recommended!
I wanted to ride a tubaslide with my son but at the checkout they said that everything was sold out. The lift is half-empty a pile of tubes stands idle on the side but they are sold out. Goofy management. Why are you doing it?
Best place to learn to snowboard. Local legends like Mike Rav, Chris Grenier and Mikey Lacroix all grew up there and are professionals today. One of my favorite places on earth.
Great small scale skiing and tubing place in and around Shrewsbury, Westboro, Northboro. Kids always enjoyed the time out here. I would recommend anyone to go there. Im yet to start season classes for my kids which I will in future.
Did snowtubing in chill weather. People of all ages can enjoy. Safe and fun entertainment.
The management of this place needs to be fixed. It’s tiny so you literally are squished into a tiny lobby trying to get your skies on.
We first learned of SkiWard thru it’s racing team about 12 years ago and have been going back ever since. The environment, staff, and atmosphere are warm, inviting, and fun. We look forward to every trip!
Worst costumer service.I tried to call and email them. Noboby anwered.I have been tried to contact them for almos 2 weeks by phone and email. No answer. Terrible service. Covid is not an excuse for lack of customer service! You just need to asnwer the phone!I do not recoment this place. Very dusorganized.
Had such a fun day skiing on Sunday with family and friends!!! And the mulled wine was delicious!
Kids had a blast at the tube park. Great place for an outdoor kids party.
The staff were not friendly at all, tickets are over priced, and all the runs are the same exact level. Please dont spend $50 here
Best ski area. Family oriented and very well run.
Lots of fun..very friendly staff!
Super fun, and the kids walk away exhausted!
Worst place every employees dont even answer the phone noone wants to do there job go to nashoba valley
Idk if it was here but it was good
Wards slogan of Where it all begins is very accurate. They have a strong teaching program and multi week programs for kids. Great bar at the base to watch the kids do laps through the giant windows.
Perfect size mountain for family with kids learning to ski.
Staff is nice, but mountain is just so small and crowded.
When you go fast its fun
Got to try out the 2 hour lift ticket (19/20 season it’s $17 and valid non holiday weekdays) and thought it was a great deal. I ski a lot but haven’t skied here in a long time since moving out west so this was a better option for me but for people that want to practice before going up north and just want to ski for a couple hours, this is the best deal around! Ps parents they’re very good about making sure you put down the safety bars on the chairlift so you can feel safe.
Good place... but steep price for a 400ft hill. Its great if you or your kids are just beginning to learn... but look elsewhere if you want serious fun.$55 for a full day lift left me with horror, it almost the same as a decent NH or VT full service Ski resort. Come on.
Great little place for tubing and skiing!
Much good skiing very enjoyable great for the kids!
Love this place! Great food, drinks, and people! Also the skiing is amazing they have the best snow and grooming in the northeast by far! I prefer a day skiing, tubing, or just at the bar at Ski Ward then any other place I have to drive hours for!
Even though I was respectful to the staff, they were very rude and did not even want to talk to me when I approached the kiosk following social distancing guidelines and wearing a mask.
Fantastic conditions and new menu is amazing!
Crazy busy on a Sunday .. My daughters boyfriend was in here on holiday from London and had never seen snow. It was totally worth the 1 HR 15 min drive for some tubing fun. 30$ for 2 hrs.. seems to be the going rate and a lift to bring ya back up the hill.. How could we complain.. They both loved it.
Super fun place with a great atmosphere. All the staff was super friendly and helpful and overall we had a great time. Not to mention that it is very reasonably priced compared to other locations that offer the same services. Will definitely be going back!!!
Monday afternoon before school got out, it was relaxing to be out on the slopes with very few people. Overall great experience! Easy and fun!
Neat little place. We were here in the summer where they turn it into a cool outdoor area where you can eat and drink out on a patio, play some volleyball, or setup some cornhole. Beer selection is a little limited though, but not terrible
I love this place year round. the staff is wonderful and the beer on tap is always amazing. Also, they have the best deal in town on Wednesday and Thursdays. For $10 you get a fresh big delicious burger, a cold beer of your choice and a bag of chips. Whaaaat?!?!? Crazy good deal.
Great local mountain. Our kids all spent/spend a lot of time here learning to ski and they love it. Conditions are consistently good. Lift operators are friendly and experienced. Lodge food is tasty and reasonably priced. I would especially like to compliment the ticket salespeople and their manager for efficient, kind, and helpful customer service.
Great to bring your family
We went tubing today 5 to 7pm we loved it. What a wonderful time. The staff extremely helpful and so nice. The girls on the tubing hill were very patient with me be a gramma not so quick on and off tube. The snow was perfect. Great time
Brought kids tubing. Was good for older kidsBut my three year old had nothing to do. Their map showed a kids play area, but it wasnt actually there. That part was frustrating, we had nothing to do with her for hours. Other than that, its a great place to tube/ski/board.
Its close and cheap. But the people there range from useless to proactively anti-customer. So while its just 20 minutes from home, Id rather spend my money anywhere else.Went today with the kids. Met friends and their kids. While riding the magic carpet, I picked up a 3-year-old about 10 feet from the end, so as to make the exit easier for all involved. Id done the same with my 5-year-old ~20 minutes earlier, without incident. The lift operator, Dave, thought it a good idea to stop the carpet. His stated reason- to test my balance (which he said he expected to be fine). In so many words, he stopped the ride to see if it would cause an accident with the three-year-old I was holding.Im a former professional skier. I was stable. I was fine. Im also a big guy, so if Id fallen, its likely I would have hurt the kid. For what? So the operator could create this teachable moment.I voiced my displeasure and advised Dave that I would be sharing this news with management, owners, and here online. From there, we parted and moved on.But then Ed, the operations manager sought me out. His aim was to scold me for engaging with his staff. While Dave had been apologetic, Eds sole interest was in defending his guy and the safety-based decision to stop the lift. This is complete BS. From the ticket counter to the hill and beyond, this place is run by people who dislike customers.Go elsewhere. Anywhere will do.
An absolute joy to visit! Staff was extremely friendly and helpful. Being our first visit (were from Florida) they took the time to explain the details and rules plus explained everything they offer. The staff at the tubing hill was friendly and knowledgeable. We had a blast!
Good for beginners. This is where it all started for me. If your advanced I dont recommend this place.
First night of ski lessons for the kids tonight went great. It was well organized for the first time, which is always the most difficult. The group size was small and the instructors did a great job. I am very happy we choose to go to Ski Ward this year!
Excellent winter fun. Took my kids to meet with friends at this place. Good times, but a bit crowded the day we went. Recommend!!
Great area to learn how to ski! The instructor s are super helpful. The only complaint I have is the quality of the food, I would recommend bringing a lunch.
The tickets office could be slow, otherwise a good place to teach your kids skiing
Great little ski area. As a mature beginner, I found it the perfect place to learn new skills. Nice staff.
They have a cozy little bar and rotate the beer through local vendors. In addition the hills are great for skiing especially for kids. Off season volleyball. Overall great place.
I’ve been going here since I was a kid, and now I have the opportunity to bring my daughter here to enjoy the slopes as well!
Way over priced and military staff cant really have fun. The hill itself is really nice.
This is a small ski area, they also have tubing. My son takes ski lessons and I think they provided a good service, but its pricey. We went tubing today and had a great time. It was $28 per ticket for 2 hours, which I guess isnt too bad. They limit the number of riders, so you may wait to get in, but dont wait in line afterwards. This is a nice family oriented place, if youre a serious skier this isnt for you. They have a cafeteria and a bar. I wouldnt risk my life by eating here, and if you have allergies dont even think about it. The whole joint is very dated, but the people are nice.
Good place to learn how to ski. Instructors are friendly and helpful
I sent my daughter there for an afternoon snowboard practice with her friend. We were there about 12:45 pm which I did not pay enough attention to so we were charged lift ticket from 9 am-5 pm instead of 1-5 pm. I noticed that shortly and asked about it. It seemed they had great difficulty to refund me. I was told they needed to call someone and that person was on the phone. Eventually after waiting for a while I just gave up as its not a lot.
Great place, staff are very helpful and care, one patrol even helped my kid on ski tips seeing her a little unsure on the trail, will definitely come back and highly recommend to friends and families. Also the ski school has a dedicated area so you wont be bumping into other newbies on the trail
Tiny little hill. Liftie was a hoot. Good for learning how to ski, and they have hourly tickets.
I not only read the website incredibly carefully, I also called three separate times to be sure I was reading the Saturday BOGO deal correctly. The first employee on the phone couldn’t answer one single question. She kept the phone at her mouth as she asked the people next to her. Terrible phone skills. The next two employees to take my call seemed fine but apparently knew nothing as well. I specifically asked if the Saturday deal was for use of the entire hill or just a specific section. I was told it EXCLUDED the beginners area. GREAT! Nope. My kid and his buddy had to stash their belongings behind a dumpster because they had to spend all the money they had as the deal didn’t apply. What? So I pick them up, hear all this, and go inside. I spoke to a manager. Showed her my calls. She acknowledged the situation and wrote my name, address, all in front of me! It’s been 8 days and nothing has come in the mail! I’m 5.1 miles away, a 9 minute drive! The damn mail doesn’t take weeks for 5 miles!! Are they just that incompetent at customer service? The website is lying and it’s a scam. Please don’t drop your kids off here.
Just hope the staff arent completley drunk at the lacroix cup at the end of the year. Or the staff is paying attention and another kid dont fall off the lift and die
Nice little mountain for beginners. Friendly staff and well maintained.
We were here for a birthday party. Kids had fun tubing.
