When I was in high school in the 1960s my grandmother and I used to shop their store that was in downtown DC. I continued to shop with them in Silver Spring. The sales people are top-notch professionals. Its always that way. They measure you to give you a perfect fit and complete satisfaction. Im ecstatic to see that they are still in business. Look out girls, Im coming.
This store has been in existence for over50 years. I remember when it was on7th St., NW. It was great than and it is still great now.
The women in the store were very helpful and quickly found me two bras with the perfect fit. Yes, locally owned boutiques might be a little pricier than elsewhere, but the money and pain you save by not constantly buying the wrong size bras will more than make up for it.
The sales lady was very rude. It says corset shop and there were zero corsets.
Heather was spot on in sizing, and selecting just what I needed and wanted, in various colors.
I just Love this Bra shop!! The quality lasts for a long time. I had a girdle specially made 7 years ago and it’s still do the job. I recently bought a half bra there for my birthday in March. I love the staff as well. Very helpful and great customer service. I can go on and on about this place. Just say Im a happy customer. Five star rating
Havent been since they re-opened but I plan on going soon..
It was an easy process to be fitted and offered a variety of bras. Bustier women should look no further. They have all level sports bras for those who are physically active..My Wynette is so nice and makes you feel comfortable.
Incredibly polite staff that go above and beyond. My girlfriend went in for a bra that would look good under her bridesmaids dress. The dress was a bit oversized and a bit bulky looking in the sides. The woman in the shop fitted the dress better for my girlfriend in a half hour. Incredibly impressed with the service we received.
Oh my gosh!!! They have EVERYTHING!! I found some amazing bras, in my size which is a rare thing! Plus they were sexy looking! They have definitely made a repeat customer out of me.
Love this place. Nice seamstresses, always helpful. May be expensive for many because they have all sizes. I have never gone and they did not have what I needed. 4 stars because Ive been a customer for over 20 years and never got any perks. They need to give coupons or incentives for long time, loyal customers.
Awesome professionalism, clean environment, friendly staff AND my bra size in stock, they didnt have to order it because I am top heavy! Customer for life.
Attentive, personalized experience
Ive been driving by this shop since I moved to MD in 1995, and finally went in. Its a lovely undies shop that specializes, not unsurprisingly, in corsets. They have plus sizes, a nice selection of elegant lingerie, and thorough selection of stockings in various sizes.Small accessories department. Excellent customer service and individual fittings by the well-trained staff. This classic boutique is a fabulous and unique small business.10-6 Mon-Sat. Great place for brides, or anyone who wants to feel feminine.
Satisfied!!!!will be back again.
Let me just start this off by saying I rarely write reviews, but for this, it was a no brainer. For a fun shopping experience with high quality feminine lingerie, this is the place to go! ... This was my first time here and I was very impressed with how modern, organized and open aired this charming shop is. Their customer service was fantastic! I had questions and there was always someone around to help. The staff was encouraging but not pushy and the selection was excellent.Go visit.
Wonderful experience..she worked with ne very patient and dilligently!!A+..customer experience
I have been coming to Dor-na since they were on F st downtown DC. Now that i have a daughter i bring her here. The ladies are ALWAYS on point with my sizing and always professional. Today my 13yr old daughter and I came in for proper measuring and Heather was great. I always tell my friends to come and to bring their daughters.
Came in for a bra fitting but only a single measurement was taken of me. Sales woman gave me bras to try on that hurt, which could have been avoided with more measurements. She reached into the bra cups to move my breasts without asking first or telling me what she was going to do. Ive had multiple fittings for various garments that involved adjusting my breasts by hand and every other professional asked first and explained what she was doing for my comfort. I read other reviews that mentioned this but hoped that behavior had been dealt with by management. Clearly that is not the case.I didnt tell the sales woman that I know a bit about bras to see if she would be honest and helpful but instead she was dismissive, trying to make a quick sale on a customer she took for uneducated in womens undergarments. I told her at one point I was having a bad day and would prefer to come back at another time but she kept standing in the dressing room pushing me to try other bras on. I had to insist that I wanted to get dressed for her to leave. There was noone waiting after me, I was the last client helped despite order of arrival, so this was not an issue of being in a rush. Very disappointed in the whole experience from start to finish.
This place is great under new management. High quality merchandise, kind and professional service. The expert fitter was very knowledgeable and friendly, she answered all my questions and set me up with perfect bra. Thank you very much, great job, please keep it up.
First started going when they were located on F St NW in Washington, DC( 1980s). It’s the only place I can go to get perfectly fitted bra!!! Thanks DorNE for providing great service
Good customer service and staff is very knowledgeable. I was very happy with my shopping experience. They have a great selection.
Best place in the area to shop for bras for hard-to-find bra sizes. Only drawback is that you have to feed a meter behind the store for parking. No use parking in front of the 7-11 next door, as they do keep tabs on whos an actual 7-11 customer parking there.
My first visit was so wonderful, the staff were friendly and were able to bring out bra after bra that matched my measurements, instead of the normal uhh... this is the one in your size. Their website had such useful advice, the staff was so friendly, the reviews were so great. I took home three bras and had two more mailed ordered. I was excited! Then the frustrations began. I should have known when the staff didnt actually *tell me* what my size was. Two of the bras I had bought fit perfectly, I was in heaven! But the third didnt fit right at all, the cup was too small to hold me in, and the underwire was sliding up my chest trying to contain the volume. It left me feeling nothing but frustrated, like many bras before. Then I realized they had grabbed a US sized bra, not a UK sized bra. US sizes and UK sizes are a bit different, and the UK sizes are more tightly standardized. The two I loved were UK 40G, but the other was a US 40G (UK 40F). Maybe they had read the tag incorrectly. Easy mistake to make, right? Especially for a short time like trying it on in the store. So I brought the ill-fitted bra back to be exchanged. The ladies did exchange it, but it was basically a fight to convince them that the US 40G was NOT the same as a UK 40G. They didnt understand why I was frustrated, when the bra was clearly not coming all the way into my chest and holding me properly. They did exchange it, so Im glad for that. One of my mail-order bras had arrived, maybe it had all been a simple mistake. But alas, another bra that *almost* fit. A UK 42F, a sister size. Ill have to return it, since its another case of being more frustrating than comforting. Their website discusses how a bra should properly fit, and how women do themselves a disservice by wearing sister sizes that have larger bands to compensate for smaller cup sizes, yet dont actually truly fit, but then the staff dont follow the websites own advice. Its incredibly frustrating, I was hoping for so much more.3/5 stars for the fit of 3/5 bras.
I have always had a necessary and fulfilling visit to Dor-NE. I have moved to Florida, lost weight and couldnt find these services. So on a recent visit I was measured and left the store quite pleased. Good professional and pleasant service.
Lovely place. Personal fitter and seamstress right in the store. Prices have gone down since the change in ownership. I buy all my undergarments from there!
I had an emergency. Wedding dress not fitting properly because I lost some weight in the chest area. I was fitted for a corset same day and left with a perfect fit and a better looking wedding dress.
The staff is always pleasant. This is the go to place if you need undergarments for any occasion.
Very customer friendly. They also have a seamstress to make adjustments to your bra. I love going.
Good selection wonderful customer service its a little pricey but its quality products
Great service but beware pricey. Ive shopped with them before they switched to this location. Ladies the bra size youve claimed for years may not accurate. This shop has kept my breast from dropping so early in age. Thanks so much.
DO NOT GO HERE IF YOU ARE UNSURE OF YOUR SIZE/PLAN ON TRYING ON 5+ BRAS/EXPECT A PLEASANT EXPERIENCEWell, this was one of the worst customer service experiences of my life. I have a feeling that if you are 100% sure of the size and brand you want, this place is adequate. However, if you are unsure of your size and frustrated, trying to narrow down what works and what doesn’t, or try to be an informed shopper this place is horribleThere were many things that went wrong but the worst offender was the amount of distrust I got from the saleswomen about why I was taking notes on how the bras I tried on fit. I was INTERROGATED (Im not joking) multiple times including once by who I assume was either the manager or the owner (more on her below). Each time I explained politely and calmly that I was just recording this information for my own knowledge and to see if any patterns emerged. I said it was a great recommendation I had seen online (from the subreddit “A Bra That Fits” which I highly recommend to anyone else who is on their bra journey) and was only recording info on what I was trying on so I could save time and money in the future. An Eastern European lady who I assumed was the owner but might have been the owner’s wife (who only came in after a saleswoman who had already questioned me/gave me funny looks and then presumably got her) then proceeded to tell me that I was strange and acted like I was stealing trade lingerie secrets or something. She then said that if I liked something they would write down the size for me at the front but that they didnt allow that kind of behavior at this store.Like, SERIOUSLY?! When I was at Nordstroms I was barely given a second glance for pulling out a notebook. Like, I get that I look like a poor black student (I am) but I was going to splurge at this place. The incredible amount of suspicion at something as simple as informing myself left me extremely angry. I was only able to try on 4 or 5 bras before I was absolutely done. I had planned on trying on 3x that amount and buying up to 3 or 4 bras, this was going to be my summer splurge! They also have a sign that says it costs $5 for a fitting if you arent buying anything. I was later told that it would cost me $5 if I was just trying on bras (I didnt get a fitting from them). In addition, there were constant questions about if I was going to purchase anything, barging in as I was trying to get changed, touching me without asking first.Bra shopping is already a very intimate and vulnerable experience from the jump. Searching for bras when you’ve been mislead about sizing, body shamed, and are frustrated only exacerbate this. Why offer this kind of treatment to a clientele who may already be on edge?Ugh... just, ugh. I won’t be shopping here again ever.
The have something for everybody...& I do mean EVERYBODY....
I went to DorNe Corset Shoppe in silver spring on Saturday July 14, 2018. I purchased a bra and had to order the second one. The sales person stated that it would cost $10.00 to ship and it would be shipped on Monday. I heard nothing from the shop nor did I receive my item. Called the Shoppe on Thursday July 19th for the owner to tell me that they didn’t have the bra color I ordered but she never called me to infom me but said once the manufacturer had it they would ship it to the shop and she would ship it to me. Needless to say I called again on Thursday July 26th for the owner to tell me another reason why I haven’t received my item. I asked her to send me another color that she had there in her store. I called again on Friday July 27th to make sure they mailed it to me and the sales person asked the owner and I heard her state that the mail person just picked it up. I finally after two weeks received my item. So disappointed that their customer service is terrible and no commutation to me about the delays/status of the item I paid with my hard earned dollars. Her items are not cheap in price. I am so sad that I wasn’t able to get the color I truly wanted. Guess it’s time for me to find another shop with better customer service. I won’t shop there again nor will I recommend them. Just my person experience and opinion.
Edit: I accidentally deleted this just now. Original post date was 4/17/17I really wish that I had a great experience like everyone else who rated. I came to this shop because it was highly recommended by many people. I came to purchase a strapless bra, and was sold one that did not fit. When I went to do the fitting, they told me to take off my top, so I did. But then they told me to remove my bra, as well. I expressed that I felt awkward about the situation, but they just stared at me. They took a measurement under my arms, above my bust, but did not actually measure my bust or underbust (so why did I have to remove my bra??). When they left to grab a bra, they didnt even put the thin curtain back to give me privacy. I was glad that I was the only one in the store at the time. They fit me in a strapless that was two sizes too large in the band and several sizes too small in the cup. I was uncomfortable. I tried to ask questions about fit, but I was told that everything was fine with the fit (even though the gore did not lie flat and the top cut into me). When I tried to adjust myself, the fitter got annoyed with me and told me I adjusted too far and proceeded to put her hands down the bra to adjust me -- without asking me if she could do that.I should have walked out right then and there, but I was intimidated, so I bought the bra. Which I cant return because of their final sale policy on strapless bras.I trusted you all in a vulnerable space, and I should not have. And then I had to tip you all on top of it.UPDATE: I went to get my refund on Friday morning 4/21. I was able to get my full refund (retail + tip), but only after having to argue with Stella and the other staff member. The lack of professionalism I experienced was appalling. I never received an apology in person. Instead, they engaged in victim blaming by saying it was my fault that I had a horrible experience because I never said I was uncomfortable.Uncomfortable is me expressing I feel awkward about being told to remove my bra for a fitting. Uncomfortable is me closing my eyes and turning my head away as you measured me. Uncomfortable is me trying to cover myself up, especially after you leave the curtains open when you go to grab another bra. Traumatized is when you suddenly violate my personal space by adjusting my breasts inside the cup without my permission. So, thanks for that.It is not my fault that your operating methods invade peoples personal space without their permission. It is not my fault that you gang up on customers to pressure them to buy things (two people fitting one person is not necessary). You never left me alone to make a decision about the (overpriced) bra. You violated my personal space by placing your hands inside the bra to adjust my breasts without my permission. You need to understand what consent is. Justifying your actions by saying that that is what happens when you get a professional bra fitting is not okay. You need to ask. You do not have free reign over my body just because we are in a certain space. Not all of your customers have the same background. What if you had revictimized a survivor of sexual assault? Not all of your customers will be able to say anything when they are uncomfortable, whether that be during the fitting and subsequent purchase or after the fact. You need to understand the power that you have in that space and respect it. You need to respect your customers and ASK before you touch them.If youre thinking about going to Dor-Ne, dont bother. Youre better off fitting yourself using the information over on r/abrathatfits and ordering bras online. Youll get better priced options (seriously, the bra I got from Dor-ne cost be $75, but I could have gotten it for $60 through BraStop), and the internet wont violate your personal space.
I went to Dor Ne last week (8/12/17), to purchase a waist trainer. I walked in and encountered the rudest woman, an older blonde woman of Eastern Europe descent I would believe.First off, I told her what I was looking for and she pulled one from under the counter for me to try on, I asked was this my size and she said, yes without measuring. I went on to try the garment and it has about 25 small hooks that needed to be fastened in which it took a little time shortly thereafter she came batging in on me asking if I was finished. After responding to her she left the curtain open to the dressing room as if she thought I had other intentions. At that point I gave her the waist trainer back and took my $68 and ordered one online which was cheaper and going forward I will order from Bras That Fit for better customer service. I refuse to spend my hard earned money with folks that do not appreciate it.Furthermore the owner has come online to address the displeasure of the customers experience but he has not mentioned disciplining the lady that has the bad attitude therefore...#theycant#havemymoney
Terrible customer service from the owner. She and her financial manager who sounds like a relative are as rude as it can be. They will cheat you out of your store credit. I am over going back and forth with them. I regretted stepping foot in that store. They do have good products but get nasty if you ever need exchanges. The rest of the staff is great. I do feel sorry for them as they have to work for such rude people. Please order online Norstrom, Norstrom rack, Amazon, Macys carries the same products cheaper! I consider this experience an oops from 2015!
It was hot in there.
Great spot for those who are working with A LOT up top. Bras, corsets, body shapers...you name it.
Great customer service & knowledgeable staff for a variety of customers—all shapes & sizes!
First of all, be aware that anything you purchase that is strapless is not valid for return OR exchange. I find this ridiculous since they are the hardest garment to fit under specific tops and dresses. SO if you absolutely MUST shop here bring the garment with you to try on in the shop since once it leaves the front door its yours for good.I tried to take a strapless long line bra back the next day after trying it on under multiple garments and finding it showed through and would not work for the top I was hoping to wear it under. However the attendant told me there are no returns on strapless. When i pushed further, she went to get the owner who pointed to a sign hidden behind trinkets and decorations. I was not verbally made aware of this policy and would not have paid the 80$ for this bra if I HAD known that.As for my shopping experience, the owners wife assaulted me and made me feel very uncomfortable when fitting me for the bra. Given I have had bra fittings before, and I understand that this is almost always an uncomfortable process, it was the most uncomfortable I have ever been in a store in my life. When i asked her to tell me ABOUT long line bras she groped my breasts in the middle of the store and then took me into the back without asking me if I wanted a fitting (which costs 5$ by the way, regardless if you buy something or not). She then told me to take off my bra so she could look at my breasts, which i felt uncomfortable about. Instead of talking me through it however, she just pulled my bra down without any warning and ran out of the dressing room like a cartoon villain leaving me alone, half naked, and confused.Oh and lets not forget the dressing rooms. They are barely dressing rooms. They are tiny mirrored rooms with a flimsy curtain that faces the large open windows to a major street. SO as the attendant wips in and out of the room, everyone on the street and in the storefront get a nice glance of your nakedness. It feels terrible. That being said, the attendant I had who was NOT the owners wife was very nice. Whereas the owners wife was very pushy and judgy with me, the young african american woman who helped me was very calm and knowledgeable. She knew what she was talking about and was very patient and calm. She was the only positive part of the experience. She was very adept at sizing and offered to alter the bra to better fit my needs. Honestly I would have happily tried to find a different bra there if I could have returned the first one and worked with my attendant again, unfortunately that is not the case. Instead i will never shop there again and will not recommend this shop to any friends. The only reason to conceivably go to this shop is if you need custom corset made. Otherwise I would recommend going to NORDSTROM where you can be fitted just as well, they have a much farther reaching selection, and they will take back most clothing in almost any condition. I feel like i was pushed to buy a garment that I am now sure I will never wear. I feel cheated and abused and I hope people read this review so that the same thing does not happen to them.
