Amanda has been doing my piercings for almost three years, and I was so excited to find out she had moved to Authentic Arts! She always takes the time to make sure everything is sterile and never pierces without warning! She pierced me while she was in training to work here by Alexandra and I could tell they train their employees well. Amanda has pierced my cartilage 3 times, my conch, my rook and my daith, and every time it is quick and painless! I can’t wait to come back for my tattoo by Dan!

Had the best experience at this place! Alexandra, you’re amazing! I came in looking to get 2 piercings done, but I still had some doubts about the location and also had no clue as to what kind of pieces I wanted to put in the new piercings. Alexandra spent at least half an hour with me solely helping me pick jewelry, holding it up to my ear, putting it away and then bringing it back again because of my “can I see that one again”. She did not only make me feel very comfortable and did not rush me until I had “I love it moment!”, but she also was very helpful and invested in picking the pieces that went well together, fit my desired design and my budget. The pieces I selected were sterilized before we started. Alexandra took her time to explain all of the post care instructions and I felt well informed. I got two piercings done, one in the earlobe was super easy, I almost did not feel anything. The second one was in the cartilage at the top of my ear(can’t remember the proper term), it was a little more painful, but I felt the pain for maybe 30 seconds. The procedure was quick and the piercing room was clean and neat. It’s been two days since and I do not fee l any pain or discomfort and absolutely love my new piercings! Thank you Alexandra for your care!

The shop its self is beautiful and cleanly but, me and a close friend have both been pierced there and the one thing lacking is honesty. We have both gone back due to issues with the piercings where we were both looked in the eye and told they are fine later to have gone to several other shops for a second opinion and being told the same things “they pierced the wrong spot”. My friend had gotten several piercings from this place alllllll of which have rejected or needed to be removed. They have given them many chances to own up but to no avail. Once or twice yeah understandable but going on 5 piercings that have had placement issues that affected the healing? Thats too much. And to look us in the eyes and tell us they are healing perfectly as they are obviously bumpy, red, irritated and rejecting? Thats not honesty. Even worse, is blaming the client and telling them that they are just pulling on it too much. We dont even touch them! Biggest way to invite germs into a piercing is handling them too too much. We kept them clean and dry like we are supposed to. Its just a slap in the face when you go to seek help for something just to not have any help offered.

I am so happy that I chose authentic arts for my portrait tattoo of my pup who passed. Dan did an amazing job! It looks just like my pup and I couldn’t be happier. Not only was he kind and polite but he also made sure that I was ok throughout the entire tattoo. I didn’t initially know what to expect because this was my 1st big tattoo and I was scared but Dan was so kind and understanding of my fears. He took his time to ensure that the tattoo matched the picture I gave him and I couldn’t have asked for a better tattoo! I recommend Dan to anyone who wants a portrait and this shop to anyone looking for quality work.

Had a tattoo appointment with Justin recently. I couldnt have been happier with the experience. I spent a long time researching Justins artwork before deciding on booking the appointment. Justin took my idea, provided great feedback, and together we worked out a solid concept. The day of the appointment went great as well. Very professional, clean environment. Great atmosphere and positive experience. Justin was great to work with. The artwork was great, and many of the staff offered positive feedback once the first session was done. Currently waiting for my tattoo to heal, and already have my second appointment booked to continue the work. Looking forward to it

I did extensive research before getting my nose pierced, and I am so happy that I found Alexandra. She is a licensed, professional piercer, and she exceeds the standards for safety and comfort. She took the time to care for and re-pierce old lobe piercings from a different piercer. She is so knowledgeable and friendly - do yourself a favor and choose Alexandra! :)

The staff are very pleasant and Alexandra is very concern when my daughter had a promblem with her nose piercing.

Went and got my septum pierced today, SO happy with the results! Everyone there was amazingly sweet. Alex is so professional. She walked me through every step of the process, and how to clean it. Pricing is really fair too! Will be going back for all my piercings in the future.

Ive gotten pieces by both Rachel and Dan and they are amazing, location is really clean and they have been taking great precautions during the pandemic. Highly recommend this shop to anyone who may be nervous ab getting their first tattoo as well as someone on their 20th.

This is one of the best shops I’ve been to hands down. Alex, the piercer, is absolutely amazing. I highly recommend her. I had 2 piercings done by her in the same day. She takes her time, she explains every step and she’s very knowledgeable. Alex is friendly and makes you feel very comfortable. I’ve also been tattooed by Justin, and his work is just beautiful. I love my piece. This shop is extremely clean and very professional. I have my next tattoo scheduled and will continue to do business with them.

If Walk-ins are not welcome, don’t place it on your door and advertisements. We called at 3pm and they told us to come after 6pm. We then waited another hour and a half outside (we had no problem doing so). The guy comes out, gets our designs, and takes them in. They come back with the most outlandish prices (we know that means the artist doesn’t wanna do it). We all have plenty of tattoos and it’s not our first rodeo. The door guy was also worried about the sizing because of the detail. The piece was lines and dots. The artist’s pieces on the website make them seem very talented, so I know that’s not the issue. I don’t wanna waste anyone’s time, so don’t waste mine. We chose this place based on reviews, and I was very disappointed.

This place is AMAZING!!! I had two piercings done by another place and another piercer who did an AWFUL job! Alexandra listened to all my concerns and explained to me what was going on with my two piercings and why they weren’t healing correctly. She helped me come up with the best plan for my piercings and how to fix the problems that the other piercer caused. I can not thank her enough for her time, patience and expert advise! I WILL NOT GO ANYWHERE ELSE! Do yourself the favor skip going or trying anywhere else and just go straight to her!

Love this shop! Have had two piercings and one tattoo done here. My husband has had two tattoos here also. One was a repair job that was messed up by original artist from another shop. They are clean, professional, and friendly. Never made us feel like we weren’t worth their time and effort. Also so great with my 9 year old that wanted his ear pierced last year. Wouldn’t go anywhere else!

Got piercings done with Emmi and she was awesome. The shop was very clean and all the artists were professional and polite. They had a big selection of earrings to pick from and they were reasonably priced. The piercing room was separate from the main tattoo room and it had an autoclave which all the instruments came directly out of. The piercings were quick and painless and Emmi took her time measuring them out to be even. I couldn’t be happier with the way they came out, they look just like the pictures I showed her.

I was tattooed by Amanda and she did an amazing job!! Her line work is incredible and she was super patient and listened to my preferences and all that. Professional, clean, and amazingly talented. Would get another tattoo from her in a heartbeat. Her color work and shading work is incredible as well!!! It was my first tattoo and I couldn’t have asked for a better experience.

I had a piercing appointment the other day with Alexandra. She was very knowledgeable and so sweet, she also took her time with me and cleaning everything. I came there for a flat piercing and for new jewelry for my lobe piercings. The jewelry display is beautiful, everyone in the shop was so welcoming, i went on my birthday as a present to myself. Everyone there wished me a happy birthday. Would definitely come back for my piercing and tattoo needs.

I ended up walking out because the woman was shaming me for not being able to afford the service that I wanted. I was five minutes late, and then once she gave me the price, I realized I didn’t have enough money in my bank account. Then, this woman comes up to me and tells me that I can’t do that to people. First of all I didn’t know how much it was going to be until that very moment, and they were being rude to me the moment I stepped into that building. So unprofessional.

Got a tiny tattoo on my thumb that probably took about 45 seconds to do and was charged $100 because apparently there is a minimum charge, which is understandable but would be nice to know beforehand so i could add another tattoo that adds up to the minimum, must be nice to get paid 100 bucks for 2 mins of work

This place has amazing customer service! I go to school at Stony Brook University, but I live in Chicago. While at school I came here to get a cartilage piercing. When it was time to put in a shorter bar, I was in Chicago for the summer, so I went to a place in Chicago to have this done. When they took my earring out they said that the screw was stripped and that they couldn’t put it back on. They put in a placeholder to keep the piercing open and sent me on my way. I called Authentic Arts and explained the situation. Even though they weren’t the ones to ruin my earring they not only offered to replace it but offered to order a similar one from a more expensive company to ensure that this didn’t happen again. I was amazed that they were willing to do all of this for free when they weren’t the ones to remove the piercing in the first place. I just went last night to have the new earring put in and it is beautiful. I am so happy with Authentic Arts and would definitely recommend.

I called to find out if a piercer was working and the gentleman who answered the phone was super nice.Walking in to authentic arts Was immediately appealing very clean very together and being somebody who has over 50 tattoos I look at everything when I go into a studio. Emmi is the young woman who was taking care of my daughter she wanted an industrial piercing. Not only did Emmi take the time to examine her ears but she explained why that piercing wouldnt fit right (small ears). She could have done it and just took the money. Went here for my first peircing my belly button. I was very VERY nervous and ususally pass out when I get any kind of needle in my body. Emmi did my piercing and she was SO awesome she helped me stay so calm and I didn’t even realize when she put the needle through. 10/10 reccomend her and the peircing came out awesome!!! Been going to Authentic Arts for two years now. I have gotten three tattoos done by Tommy and they all healed and came out amazing... more than I imagined. I love how comfortable and relaxed they make you feel. Tommy always keeps conversation going during the tattooing process. Everyone is super chill and welcoming every time I come in. I also had an issue with my nipple piercing (which was from another shop) and the two piercers at Authentic Arts were extremely helpful with my piercing. They extended my bars for me, gave me tips on how to help it heal and what products to use. So it was my first tattoo. Annabelle is the artist. She worked with me for a long time on the actual design. She made sure I absolutely loved everything about it and where I wanted it. It hurt a lot and for my first tattoo, I probably squirmed around a bit. But she did a perfect job anyways. It was kinda big, so she did the outline in one session and then the shading in another. And the shading just blew me away. Better then I could have expected. Ill be setting up another appointment this fall for number 2!

I’ve wanted to get a tattoo for 10 years, and I have always been afraid. I finally did it and it didn’t hurt! I didn’t have an apppointment and walked right in. I only waited 10 minutes. Thank you Tommy....I LOVE it! It’s just what I wanted. You calmed my nerves and made me feel comfortable. The place is clean and everyone is super friendly. Tommy did an amazing job turning my ideas and vision into reality, art that I enjoy seeing on my body. It started with a C-section scar; I hated the way it and the way the skin around it looked. The scar will always be there, but now all I see is a beautiful design with flowers and scroll work.I loved the way it came out and how it made me feel so much I decided to have him design a tattoo for my leg. They both perfectly represent exactly what I wanted, the images are clear and all flow together. The lines are perfect and the detail is incredible, even the smallest parts of the bird’s face and feathers are distinct and well defined.If you have an idea for a tattoo and want to work with an artist to turn that into reality, I highly recommend visiting Tommy!

The best studio! Great staff and amazing artists

Got my tattoo last September.The people were really nice. But the pricing is insane. I got an outline of a tiny heart, less than an inch in length and width, and it costed $100 (the guy gave me a discount since the normal minimum price is a whopping $120). I mean, the thing wasnt even filled in! I took care of it, following their instructions to a T, but the end result was disappointing. The ink bled, so the lines are blurry. Also the outline is uneven, so theres one spot where the line is NOTICEABLY thinner.

Tommy is the man! I have gone to him for a sleeve, full chest piece, and will continue to go to him! He is incredibly creative and awesome to work with. Everyone in that shop is awesome. Plus you dont feel un wanted when you walk in or as if they are better than you. It is a very welcoming shop and they really know how to make you feel at home
