Saigon market has everything Ive needed as Im learning how to make dishes Ive enjoyed during my childhood. Moreover, the store owners are friendly and readily welcome suggestions for products not found in-store. On Fridays, delicious, prepared food is brought in from their vendor.I highly respect the observable values the owners have placed in their business-- the owners are a strong husband and wife duo where I often see their child helping out in their business.Last but not least, Saigon market is legit because they sell balut.🐣💯

Great place to get an assortment of items for eastern cuisine - including serving dishes, rice bowls, and chopsticks! It’s also much bigger than it looks from the outside. Keep going back when you walk in to get to the veggies, fish, and frozen section!Taking off one star because the veggies there are often not very fresh, even when kept in the refrigerator, and the selection they have varies greatly, so you’re better off finding recipes after you shop, rather than coming in with a full list of ingredients that you need.Altogether though, a great little gem to have right in downtown South Bend! A very relaxing and cozy shopping experience!

Sadly, first experience was unpleasant. Called today for sushi rice. Live 30 mins away. When I asked the man on the phone if he had it & what the price was for the big bag, he said that he doesnt give the price over the phone & then just hung up on me. What?! I can understand his policy, but to hang up?? Rude. Lost potential new customer.

My wife from the Philippines who lives here with me now wanted to go here so we did. I enjoyed it too even though I dont know much about Asian food but still I had fun shopping with her. We got Tofu, some fish and other stuff, but a good place to shop for it, local chains dont have all of this kinds of food. A grocery treasure for Asians and Orientals for sure!

If you are looking for anything needed to cook Asian dishes then this is a prime spot to come to. They stock many Vietnamese and Thai products as well as a good selection from other countries in the region. They also have a wife selection of fresh vegetables and meats. Prices seem to be reasonable.

I went in for the first time today and the owner was very helpful and kind! There is a large variety of groceries from many different backgrounds. Everything was clean and well stocked, just note the exp date on the product

Nice hole in the wall Chinese market. Has a decent fresh/frozen selection in the back on top of the normal dried/canned+rice you expect from a Chinese market.

The freshest produce around, and the best place to buy mangoes in season. Prices are reasonable and they carry many hard to find items.

Saigon market is the best place for Southeast Asian groceries and produce. Market Day is Friday starting at 2pm and Kevin brings great delicious prepared treats from Chicago. Fresh Ban Mi, dumplings, char siu, roast duck, pork belly. Produce is fresh and a great variety. Come early for best selection.

Impressive considering the size. Well chosen selection. The store doesnt quite get enough foot traffic for them to have a great selection of fresh vegetables, fish, and meat. What they have there is okay. But great selection of sauces, oils, mushrooms, noodles (fresh and frozen), frozen stuff etc., and even a surprising amount of dish-ware and cookware for purchase.

I visited Saigon today to purchase some Yuca & a few other ethnic foods from Africa.Saigon is rich in variety of ethnic foods. They have goat meat. Smoked Tilapia. Cassava leaves. Plantains. Shelled fresh peanuts. Died peanuts. Ground peanuts..and peanut powder. Maize. Maize flour. Fresh mangoes. Fresh Guavas. Sweet potatoes. A plethora of Rice. Rice noodles. Pumpkin leaves(seasonal). Jamaican jerky seasoning.Tamarind. Nido. Tea. Cooking oil. Veggies... ummm....this might take all day...🤔Bottom line; if you are a foodie, or youre from another country originally, visit Saigon..you will become less nostalgic. Period!!!And the owner...absolutely lovely! Absolutely helpful! Absolutely, positively lovely❣Asked me if theres anything in particular that wed like to see in the store that they do not currently carry, so that he can order it especially...I mean, who does that!!?*Also, store is clean & organized. Did I mention: well-stocked!!?

Best Vietnamese grocery store

This would have been my most favorite grocery store had it not for the fact that its downtown and I have trouble driving around downtown area.Reasonably priced produced, lots of snacks and rare south east Asian products.The people work there are also very friendly, they have helped me carried parts of the grocery bag (including a 25lbs rice bag) to my car outside more than one occasion.Highly recommend!

I stopped IN THIS MARKET LOOKING FOR ADVICE. I love oriental food since childhood. We were started out on chop suey and egg food yung. The latter being my favorite I learned to prepare it early. But was never taught how to make the gravy served in restaurants. Since its not the same without it Im learning to prepare other dishes I like.Chicken chow mein, beef broccoli honey chicken and shrimp. So far were easy and tasted like what I like.So this market seems to be well stocked of everything I need for those dishes and those I plan to try in the very near future.

I absolutely love this place! They have such great unique items you wont find anywhere else around South Bend. People are always friendly in here. Every time I go here its like an adventure. They have many great fresh Asian foods in the back (some items vary by season). If you love tea, they have many varieties from overseas.

Aisles are bit narrow but product variety is wide. Always get this brand of tofu here. Love going here on Fridays for fresh produce. Just dont like it that they open 3pm. Cashiers and owner are friendly and helpful.

Store seems to have the biggest selection in the area, they even carry Filipino products. Got lots of veggies, fish, spices, noodles, and will be going back.

We love Saigon Market for their produce and hard to find specialty items for Asian cooking. Friendly owners. Great old-fashioned market like I remember as a kid. We love Friday nights when all the fresh produce comes in but it can be crowded and overwhelming if youre used to a big, wide aisle store. Its an experience :-)

Always a great experience. Whenever we need something that they dont carry they go the extra mile and try to find it for us. The prices are very good. Surprisingly they have a large variety and unlike some other stores their shelves are always full

Kind of hard to find because the store sign is on side of building. Parking lot on corner of Colfax and Main St. The entrance is on side of building. A nice and friendly woman helped me find what I had driven from Michigan to find. Took longer to find building.

Convenient supermarket in the heart of DTSB. They carry a wide variety of fresh and packaged Asian food. You can find Thai curry paste, Vietnamese fish sauce, coconut milk, Japanese rice, and a wide variety of other foods. They also have several prepared foods, with the best selection on Friday nights, when theyre open late.

Surprised by the exotic fresh fruit. Thai bananas, rambutan, guava, papaya, all really good.

This tiny corner of Asia has everything I need that I can’t find in Walmart or other American stores. This place is owned by a nice couple that will treat ya right and help you out in the best way possible. I recommend this place for anyone who wants to get some north - east asian foods and spices!

This is a main stay for shopping for me. A great variety of Asian food products and a small amount of african. Fridays the owner opens with fresh supplies from chicago: fresh and live seafood, fresh animal meat, fresh veggies and herbs, and great prepared foods and sandwiches. Fresh fruit that is seasonal and imported, drinks, frozen products, noodles, you name it. They are open to special orders as well.
