The bagels were delicious and the prices were very reasonable but the service was definitely lacking. Once I expressed displeasure in how my bagel was being prepared they pretty much shunned me, not cool. There are too many choices of this type of fare for them to be uppity like that.

I got Southwest Cheddar for my breakfast. It was pretty good! Oh, their coffee was really good, too.

By far the best bagels I’ve had in Indiana. The service is awesome and the price is affordable for all. I love starting my mornings off with a nice ole Studebaker bagel!!

Excellent place for breakfast, brunch, or lunch. The amazing array of different bagel selection mixes with your choice of fillings in between them makes for a great place to eat. Add to that a very caring, and friendly staff, definitely gets us to want to eat here again.

Ive been here several times over the years, and when it was Studebagels, I always had great service and great food (Mary was the best!) Then SB Chocolate Factory took over, and they changed the ham (petty, I know).....its been downhill since. Ive been back several times since, but not every Friday morning like in the past. Service has gone downhill, the people are just not friendly anymore, food quality is poor, even the bagels are like eating bread instead of a bagel, so disappointing. I hope that they make some changes and put a huge sign out front that lets me know they made changes, otherwise, Ill probably just make my own sandwich from a frozen bagel from now on. Last visit was Monday 7/29/19

Excellent bagels! As close to a New York style chewy water bagel as you can get in the Midwest.Delicious spreads in assortment of fruit and veggie concoctions.Everything is done by hand, even individual bagel slicing, so be patient. Worth the wait...and wait you will with weekend Notre Dame football crowd.Good coffee, great bagels and spreads and friendly staff.

I feel sorry for the person you didnt have the same experience .... they should go back again.Just went there for lunch 3/2/16 and got and amazing lunch bagel and delicious cookie. the lady behind the desk even made sure I got a fresh cookie!

Without a doubt the best Bagel and Lox Ive ever eaten. Staff was excellent. Very nice atmosphere and very very clean.Einstein Bros should take notice. I will go back.

I think my first mistake was going on a game day. I was in town from California, not for the game, and just wanted a bagel. All bagels were toasted without asking which, whatever, if thats their thing then I get it, but I didnt see anything that indicated hot bagels of any kind. I can see why they toast bagels, because the poor quality of bagel needs to be masked somehow. I was just disappointed in the quality and service, which is understandable on a busy day. If I come back to the area, Ill get my bagels somewhere else.

I pray that both of these girls are in training because they are both clueless. I would have gotten better service had a walk around the counter and done it myself. You could see the anger in the 2 gentleman waiting before me as well. As they made his sandwich and walked away from it. Unwrapped just sitting on the counter. %100 never be back. I seriously could go on and on about how sad of a visit this was.

Studebagels used to be the best place to get lunch in town. After being bought out by the South Bend Chocolate Factory, the service has become terrible and the place has entirely lost home-like feeling and environment. Many of the workers, especially if you come in at lunchtime, will see you as a disruption of their regular routine. If this is the case, the hours should not be listed until 2 PM. Also, do not expect free tap water! You will be forced to pay $2.25 if you expect to have water to drink (bottled, no refills). If you come in at 1, be prepared to be kicked out the minute it turns 2 o’clock. “We are now closed” said the snarky worker.It is disappointing that a place I grew up eating at weekly has become such a burden for workers to uphold. I go back every once in awhile for a good sentimental experience, but sadly almost nothing of what is once was remains.

This place has gone so downhill since they were bought out by South Bend Chocolate Factory. Went in this morning and had a very poor experience. Waited for more than 30 minutes to get 2 bagels to go. The two service people behind the counter were SO unfriendly. I asked for a pesto quad with egg, bacon and cheese. Instead I received a cheddar bagel with egg and cheese. My boyfriend ordered a jalepeno cheddar with bacon, egg, and cheese but opened up a Asiago bagel with egg, sausage and cheese. The only thing correct in both our orders was the egg and cheese!!! What a annoying way to start my weekend.

Since being taken over by the South Bend Chocolate Cafe, my service and bagels have been terrible. One toasted barely nukes the bagels, and the second toaster blackens them. One time I was in, a toaster caught on fire and filled the entire restaurant with smoke, but the workers were too busy socializing to do anything about it. I had to repeat my request several times, which isnt that big a deal, but got annoying after the fourth time in 5 minutes. Although I had asked to see the bagel after it went through the toaster (because who wants a mushy, barely warm bagel?), the waitress ignored my request, which resulted in a cold bagel by the time I sat down. If I hadnt seen her put it in the toaster, I wouldnt have realized it went through the machine. That same day, a second bagel that tasted un-cooked and doughy, which was the final straw and cemented my decision not to return. Which is truly a shame, because for years Studebagels was my favorite breakfast restaurant.
