I have an antique crystal chandelier whose ferrule had broken. I took it to the House of Andala Lamp Shoppe to see if it could be repaired. The man was quite condescending and dismissive towards me from the moment I walked in. He told me that it could not be repaired, and even if it could, that it was nearly impossible to put the ferrule back on the arm. He said that I would need to replace the entire arm and, since it is antique, it is nearly impossible to find an exact match, so I would need to replace **all** the arms ($28 each) if I wanted it to look nice and consistent. Also, I would need to leave the old arm with him so that he could look through his books to see if he could find a match, and that it would take 2 weeks.WHAT?!? If you replace almost all the parts, its no longer **antique**!!!I declined, and began to leave. He shouted out that he was the only one who could fix it in the area.Needless to say, I already didnt trust him, and this made it painfully more obvious. As a side note, my mother had accompanied me since she is visiting from out of town, and when we got back to my vehicle, she said, Im glad that you didnt leave the arm with him... he was rude! I told her that that was the very reason that I didnt leave the arm with him!As for the ferrule that was impossible to fix, a curteous jeweler offered to solder it back together, but unfortunately it would take 2 weeks because of their backlog. I decided to try to fix the arm myself since I could purchase a new ferrule online and it would be here in a couple of days. I bought a new ferrule online for $8, spent 5 minutes easily attaching the ferrule to the arm with plaster of paris (which was supposedly nearly impossible according to the House Of Andala), and fixed everything myself.I guess theres more than one person in the area that could fix it. One person wanted to replace all the arms for ($28 * 8 = $224 + tax + labor) and one person called his bluff and fixed it himself for less than $20. Needless to say, I will never trust this shop.

I’ve had an antique lamp re-wired here as well as a new light fixture that needed a longer extension of cord and chain. The chain was difficult to match but they found one that was perfect. They are always friendly, reasonably priced and very good at repairs. I’m grateful to have this resource locally!
